5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, easy to handle, simple design
I've been using this stand (and the hammock combo) for about 6 weeks now and I couldn't be happier. The stand is 5 pieces that go together easily, no tools, muss, or fuss. It was exactly what I needed since my yard has exactly one tree.

The hammock that Amazon basically gave away with the combo is not the best hammock you can buy (I mostly use my own) but you can't really argue with free. It is a almost too short for my 6' height and the ropes are quite a bit thicker than the hammock I had previously (and still mostly use). I take this hammock with me on picnics and such and figure it's disposable if it gets damaged while on the road.

I am not a small person, 6' 270 lbs., and I do have the hammock in the highest position using the chains, but I have had no problems with the stand or the hammock. Two good sized people and a child have used the hammock with no problems (still under the stated 500 lb. limit).

Because of the simplicity of design and the easy breakdown and setup I have taken the hammock to picnics and parties in my trunk (I do have to fold the back seat down to fit the long pieces).

My only wish were that the pipe ends had some kind of rubber seal, or maybe a locking pin, that would make it a little easier for one person to move the stand around when mowing (it comes apart easily if you try to pull on one end, but never while using it). If you have two people carefully moving it there is no problem, with one person you have to walk it back and forth.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool Stand and Durable
This is a great hammock stand. I bought it for my husband along with a great hammock from amazon for his birthday last summer. This stand is so strong and durable. My husband and I and all 4 of our young children have laid in the hammock and it never wobbled. It's easy to move to mow around and the green blends in with the woods and grass around our yard. A MUST FOR ANY HAMMOCK USER!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but not the best
I bought the set with the hammock plus this stand. I will say it was worth the $99 I spent but it does have negatives. The stand has no interlocking parts. This makes the stand hard to move when it is assembled as it does not lock together. This annoys me as the locking parts would have probably cost an extra $3 on the price. Cutting corners like this seems almost foolish to me as the locks would be worth it. Otherwise the stand seems strong and works well. The hammock I recieved had a tag made in India and by the looks of it labor was not the only thing they saved on. The rope looks kind of cheap and the hammock needs to be hung high or when your in it you will sit on the floor. I guess for free I am happy enough with the hammcok but it is cheaply made!

4-0 out of 5 stars Omni Swings n' Things Hammock Stand,Green
I purchased the hammockstand and hammock in two seperate orders. I received the hammock than used the Ups tracking on the day they said it went out for delivery, itstated that the carrier refused it due to damage and that it was being returned to sender. The next day the Ups delivered it with an apology from the driver and said that he was told to deliver it to me. The box it cam in was worn, and nothing but tape all around holding the box together. After taking the stand out of the box it went together in less than five minutes. The hammock stand is great with my only complaint is how it was shipped. One thing also is the customer has to supply the hooks and chains which costs around four dollars.

    1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Fit
I bought the hammock with accompanying stand. The rope hammock is way too long for the stand. My teenager weighs about 100lbs
and when he gets in the hammock,it stretches so much that he is virtually on the ground. Bought as Christmas present and what a disappointment this summer. Looks pretty, thus one star. I suggest you buy only the hammock and make sure you have two big trees to tie it tautly. ... Read more

    Reviews (3)

4-0 out of 5 stars Great charger but less stellar accessories
The charger itself is a great piece of technology allowing charging, discharging, testing and refreshing NiMH & NiCd batteries on four individual channels. As other reviews indicated, parameters can be set independently on each channel and you have knowledge of what's going on.You can make sure the batteries are performing as they should and mix & match batteries of similar capacity for top performance in each application.

Included are 4-C & 4-D adapters, however you cannot use both sizes at the same time.To use as D-size cells, you first insert AA's in the C adapters and then slide the assembly in the D adapters.I was hoping to find 8 useable adapters in the package, keep in mind you only get 4.The D adapters feel flimsy and I don't know how long they will properly snap together before breaking.

Also worth mentioning, the included AA batteries, after three refresh cycles, show capacities of 1450 / 1750 / 1800 / 2000, I find the top three to be adequate for a rating of 2000 mAh but one is clearly on the low side.Haven't tested the AAA's yet as I don't really need them.

I find this charger to fit my needs very well as an all-around household AA charger.I would buy again for sure.

1-0 out of 5 stars DOA
DOA = Dead On Arrival: powers up but won't change mode or display or charge rate. Whether that's bad luck or bad quality control I can't know for sure, but the item probably wasn't given so much as a cursory function test by its Chinese manufacturer. La Crosse Technologies suggested I ship the dud to them (at my expense) for evaluation and repair. That's unacceptable customer service for any new device, and it is NOT what I paid for. Good service (the kind that keeps old customers and earns new ones) is promptly shipping the customer a new TESTED replacement and a paid return carton for the dud. La Crosse evidently doesn't operate this way, so back to Amazon it goes for a refund, and La Crosse finds itself on my short list of least-preferred vendors.

Because this device is evidently not even tested for function before it is sold, one might reasonably question its accuracy. The best a typical user of a working BC-900 can probably do is run a single cell through each of the four sections and see how well (or poorly) the readings match, thus arriving at some idea of its consistency. I test cells with a very cheap (except for the meter) simple assembly of two diodes, a resistor, an averaging multimeter (Fluke 87 type III) and a clock, and the results are traceably accurate to < 1%.

Not obvious from this product's advertising:
The power supply's plastic casing is welded, not screwed together. Replacement of a damaged cord will therefore be needlessly difficult or impossible. The switching power supply design (a type used also by Duracell) makes for a lighter and smaller 12-watt "wall wart", but for an item this expensive WHY would the manufacturer choose 3VDC as the "wart's" output rather than the common and car-friendly 12VDC used by quality brands like DynaCharge (Duracell) and UniRoss and Maha? That weird 3V design means mobile users will need an expensive bulky power inverter or special voltage-regulating adapter to run this charger from a car's lighter socket.

ps: Amazon refunded the price including shipping, and arranged free return pickup and shipping through UPS. That's the kind of service that will keep customers for years.

5-0 out of 5 stars a great battery charger!
The La Crosse BC-900 is an intelligent battery charger for 1 to 4 AA or AAA batteries at a time. Each channel is independant of the others, and you can mix battery sizes and functions in each channel independantly.
The charger has 4 modes. Charging mode is the default, but it also has a discharge mode, test mode (discharges, then charges back up again, and shows capacity of the battery), or refresh mode (repeats the test mode up to 20 times, until it doesnt see an improvement in the test result).
Each charging channel has an LCD readout that can show the charging current, the voltage of the cell, the capacity of the cell (in ma if under 2.0 amps, or in amps if it is a 2000ma cell or higher) in test or recharge mode, or the time it has been performing the function it is currently doing. It is the readouts which make this charger exceptional! It can help you identify under-performing batteries, and makes it easy to match cells by the actual battery capacity, not a guess just because the batteries were from the same package.
You can charge batteries at different charging rates, ranging from 200ma up to 1.8a. You can be charging at different rates in each channel, but just need to keep in mind that the charging rate you choose in channel 1 will be the maximum charging rate on any other channel. Keep in mind that while you do have control over the charge rate, if you charge at too high of a value, the cells can heat up quite a bit. The unit does have thermal shutoff to protect the cells, but heat can damage nimh cells. The default rate is 200ma which is a gentle charge rate even for AAA cells, but if you are using AA batteries, you will probably choose a higher charge rate.
If you choose the discharge, test, or refresh functions, you can choose the discharge rate. With the test and refresh functions, the discharge rate will always be 1/2 of the charging rate. It will discharge the battery down until the voltage of the cell reaches 1 volt. In test and refresh functions, it will then charge the battery back to full capacity.
The charger also comes with a canvas bag containing 4 AA 2000ma cells, 4 AAA 700ma cells, and 4 battery adapters which allow you to use AA batteries to power C or D cell devices. It makes a handy carrying case for the charger, extra batteries, and a camera, film and accessories. You can sling the strap across your shoulder, or use the belt loop to carry it on your belt. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars great; weight limit & hardware
This is a beautiful, sturdy, well-designed product. At first I thought it would look silly in a New England apartment, but then I sat in it and stopped caring. It's that comfortable. It's also fairly unobstrusive, and in a pinch (toddlers visiting? landlord dropping by?) it's easy to substitute a hanging plant or just unhook the chain from the ceiling altogether.

As far as safety, if you install it correctly you have nothing to worry about; yes, it will hold two people at once. :-) You'll need to buy a length of chain at the hardware store -- ask for 3/16" link, 750-lb test, and get one or two S-hooks that fit through a link. The chair itself is rated to support up to 500 lbs. Finally, a 2" x 4" ceiling joist will support 450 lbs over a 10-foot span before it begins to bow or buckle. Recommended . . . enjoy!

4-0 out of 5 stars MY WIFE LOVES IT
My wife and kids love the chair, but I don't care for it that much. I thought the chair was a little bit constricting. Assembly was easy. Give yourself alot of room for it, the base is huge.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice, but doesn't last outside
I bought one for my wife for Christmas 2 years ago, and it was inside most of the time for the first year, and outside most of the second year, and the small ropes in the seat broke and the chair developed large holes as it raveled apart.
We live in Florida, but it was under a big oak tree, so it was shaded all day.
Ropes also got dirty looking fast.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice, but not comfortable

1-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous
This grill was difficult to light, would not stay lit when the least bit windy, and needed to be run at high or near to high. Consequently, when grilling some chicken, the entire grill caught fire. The handle on the far side from the gas bottle started initially and then the paint on the body burned. Flames shot up two feet. I was able to disconnect the gas before the burning paint reached that side. Needless to say I was terribly concerned.

2-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for
I bought one of these to use for car camping. It's OK for hotdogs and (thin) burgers, but forget about pork chops or chicken. It either wouldn't stay lit or wouldn't get hot enough if the wind was blowing a little.

I replaced it with the Weber Q and couldn't be happier.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Little Portable Cooker
I own this grill and it is very portable and very

inexpensive, great for cooking for up to 15 people.

Very light, cooks steaks and chicken in no time flat.

The legs flip on to secure the lid for easy carrying.

A great grill at a fantastic price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Portable fire is a great thing!
I received this grill in the mail...promptly. Although it was a little flimsier than I'd like, it is still a great grill. The ease of setup and the cooking ability that you get are worth WAY more than the price. NO MORE LAVA ROCKS!!!

Do yourself a either this one or the Weber portable. But look at it this way, for the price of the Weber, you could buy TWO of these!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Best camping grill for the price!
We do a lot of "camping" at stock car racing events, and for years have used a worn-out cast iron hibachi to grill the burgers and dogs. While burning charcoal on the old hibachi always succeeded in getting us fed, it was long overdue for replacement.

We decided to upgrade to a portable gas grill, and this is the model we bought. It has truly been night and day from the hibachi!

Just the fact that it has a lid was a huge improvement! And what a concept to not have to wait for the coals to burn down, only to fight to keep the fire consistent. The grilltop is not only larger than the hibachi's, but much more stable than the 2 "paddle" style tops the hibachi used.

Overall, I am very pleased that we replaced the hibachi with this grill - for the price, it can't be beat as a portable grill! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little hose for my Fire & Ice
This is a terrific buy! Some of the previous reviewers had problems with hose connections... that seems strange to me. It took me less than a minute to pull my hose on and connect it to both the LP tank and my gas regulator (for my Fire & Ice). Works like a charm.

I will say that the connection to the LP tank is a very tight fit. I found that on my second and third connections, I had to work a bit harder.

But, the bottom line is that the hose DOES FIT. Since virtually all 20 lb LP tanks for gas grilling use the same fitting, this hose should work. And, the cost savings is well worth the buy!

When I first saw this, I'd thought this is the greatest thing. Instead of spending a few dollars each time for a small propane tank that last just a couple of hours, I'd would be able to conect this hose to a large tank and it would last me the whole summer. I'm in the park, got my grill, connect the hose to the grill, and then i'd relized that the hose didnt fit the tank...Lucky for me I still had the small tank. What a disapointment. The next time I refill my tank, I will bring my hose and make sure they give me one that fits the hose. Thought this thing would fit the large propane tank, not true, check 1st ; ( ... Read more

Day after day those pesky moles were pushing up my yard. Nobody I asked knew what to do until my brother herd about the molechaser. Yes I was very skeptical but was very annoyed at those darn hills. I decided to give it a try. I purchased the P3 international P7906 Vibrasonic model. I wanted the most coverage since I live on an acre of land, I bought 3 of them. When I received the units I went to work installing them. I had a little trouble pounding them into the ground. the caps need to be very tight or you will tear the threads. 1 of the units was defective but I was able to repair it using some glue and it has been working just fine. Overall IM very pleased with the purchase and yes it works very well I haven't pushed a single molehill down since I installed them 1 week ago.

1-0 out of 5 stars More aptly named "the Mole Attractor"
The P3 International Vibrasonic Molechaser is perhaps the worst piece of equipment I have ever purchased! After placing 2 molechasers in our yard for about 7 weeks, we actually have more moles now than we did before. Not only are they eating our flower bulbs, but now have attacked the garden plants. Consequently we moved the "moleattractors" closer to the flower bed and garden area. The moles moved also - the greatest concentration of moles in the yard is now within 5 feet of the "moleattractors".
In the end we decided that the Vibrasonic Molechaser makes an excellent (but expensive) launching system for bottle rockets! So, save your money and look to another method of controlling your rodent population.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good
I changed to constant 6 volt suply using 220/6 V
adapter from the house. It has been working about one year. Result is good but success depends much of the kind of soil. With one I covered about 3000 sq.ft in sandy soil. No moles appeared any more in that area.Suggest produce some pieces ready for using with adapter. That would eliminate frequent change of the bateries and drop in the Voltage specially in cold weather. Connection by el. wires throug soil is very easy. Such a solution could give a possibility to decrease the size.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worked For Us!
We live on one acre and this item is really working great for us. We had a terrible problem with gopher mounds appearing nearly every day in our front yard very close to our front porch, but after using this product our problem is gone! I bought one of these for my husband for Christmas and he installed it in March so we have been using this product for nearly three months now. We are very pleased with this product and have ordered three more for the other areas of our property. We must remember where we install these though, because once the battery goes dead, they will be hard to find in the yard if looking with a hazy memory!

1-0 out of 5 stars Don's waste your money. Absolutely useless!
We had just paid $2500 to put a new lawn in when I noticed a couple mole hills pop up. Being an animal lover I wanted to avoid resorting to poisons and traps so I purchased the P7906 Vibrasonic Molechaser. What I had believed to be device that repelled pests in a manner similar to the ultrasonic units used to keep insects out of your house actually turned out to be nothing more than a battery powered rattle that requires 4 D cells.

Our yard is about 1/3 of an acre and the soil is of the clay type that is supposedly ideal for this product. I planted the stake near the concentration of mole hills, stomped them down and waited a few days to see if the returned. They didn't seem to so I moved the stake to the center of the yard to benefit from maximum coverage. 2 days later the hills were back in full force. I moved the stake back to the mole camp again. They moved about 5 feet away from their original spot.

Finally I stuck the stake directly into the center of mole trails. This morning my yard looks like I had been invaded by grave robbers. The moles have set up shop about 3 feet from the stake and have apparently invited all their friends to join them for a good laugh at this worthless piece of junk.

If you are looking to maximize the damage to your yard then buy this stake, move it around a few times and enjoy the devastation. If you want to get rid of moles, your money is better spent on traps or poisons that, while less humane, are more likely to keep your yard free of infestation and you more likely to stay sane. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Worked just fine..... for a while!
I purchased this unit in late December 2002 (as a Christmas present to myself), and was tremendously pleased with it for nearly a year.....

However, a few months ago it developed a horribly irritating flaw -- the LCD screen would simply go blank, and had to be reset (PITA, because it doesn't have a reset "button"; instead, you have to straighten out a paperclip and shove it into a small hole in the back).

I've emailed the folks at Oregon Scientific about this problem, and they suggested a variety of things that they thought *might* correct this behaviour (i.e. make sure the transmitting and receiving units are at least 10ft apart, try switching to a different channel, etc). Unfortunately, none of their suggestions had any effect on the problem, and it just continues to get worse (i.e. I now have to go thru the reset process 2 or 3 times before the display comes back). And a subsequent email to the Oregon Scientific folks 3 days ago has yet to be responded to.

So while I was satisfied with this unit at one time, it is now just worthless, and I consider it to have been a waste of my money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best bet for a wireless thermo-hygrometer
I have owned this unit for about three years. The outdoor sensor resides on a column under a covered patio at the rear of my home. The receiver is in the home office, which is approximately 40' from the sending unit. The signal must travel through four walls to the receiver. It has worked like a charm from day one and is extremely accurate. Batteries have been changed only one time during my ownership. I purchased another sensor for another part of my home, which is indoors (and further from the receiver and has more walls to penetrate than the outdoor sensor). So, I have three readings around my outside, one in my home office and another upstairs in a remote room. This system is strudy, reliable and has a very nice appearance. I like having the information displayed on the remote sensors as well. One glance and I know what is happening when at those locations. You cannot go wrong with Oregon Scientific. I am amazed that the cost of this monitoring system is so reasonable, given the quality that is present. I am now purchasing a duplicate system for my beach home. You will never regret having chosen this package for your weather information needs. A conservative five+++ stars goes to OS and this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars very pleased
I originally boiught a GE unit from Target. Piece of junk, very inaccurate.
I wanted to monitor the humidity in my basement workshop with a dehumidifier. With the extended unit, i can monitor my bedroom and with another extra extended unit i monitor my babies room.
All 3 separate units, the main unit and 2 extended units placed together showed very similar readings. The GE product was over 15% wrong with humidity, (they say it's calibrated within 5%).
I also brought the Oregon Scientific units outdoors and checked the humidity against what the National Weather Service reported for the area and it was right on. The GE unit reported 80% humidity in a while the OG units showed 65% as reported by th Nation Weather Service.
They seem more substantial pieces and not toys displaying big LCD numbers and graphics.
These are not expensive compared to really high end humidity measuring devices so i expect inaccuracy and can tolerate inaccuracy within reason. (Unlike the GE sold at target) Therefore this product meets and even exceeds my expectations. I believe it represents honestly what it intends to do for this price range.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great grill, but one design flaw
We love the Weber Genesis Gold C gas grill, but there is one amazing design flaw: the handle of the gas grill gets as hot as the inside of the grill! Not sure why Weber has a handle that conducts heat, but you must wear a very thick oven-mitt to not get burned. We've had the grill for over 2 years, and every once in a while I still forget and get a nice burn. Other than that, it's a great grill.

5-0 out of 5 stars The one and only true grill
I didn't want to buy my Weber before the patio is done. Which will be in late June. But, something happened. Then, the Weber end up in my garage. You know the story.
It's been bit more than two weeks since I bought the Weber Genesis Gold C. We have grilled 8 times on it. Including scallop, baby back ribs, country style ribs, spare ribs, fish, stack and some vegetables. ALL CAME OUT PERFECTLY. If you were doing research like I did. You can stop right here. You don't even need to finish this review. Just go and buy a Weber Genesis grill Gold or Silver, you will be a happy person for at least 20 years. Just like me. ;-)

I spent three months researching gas grills. Checked into brands including Jenn-Air, NexGrill, Char-Broil, COSTCO brands and Weber. I emphasized on two things, how well does the grill cook and how long will the grill last. I don't care how bad or cheap it looks, don't care about any special features (smoker tray, rotisserie kit). What I found out from reading reviews on, and several other grilling/barbecue web sites is that countless people swear on their Weber gas grill, all the other brands together have less than a hand full of people. Also buying and reading the two best grilling book before the purchase helped me a lot in what I should really look into in detail.
    The two books are:
    Weber's Big Book of Grilling
    by Jamie Purviance
How to Grill: The Complete Illustrated Book of Barbecue Techniques
    by Steven Raichlen, Greg Schneider

I am, or shall I dare say "was" :-), not an expert griller. I was able to fully understand what the books said and able to follow the books. Which results in perfect food. My ribs are better than the ones from Sweet Water Tavern. The baby back ribs from Sweet Water Tavern was my family's favorite. With the same amount of money we paid for a rack, we can have 4 full racks now. Anyways, back to the books. The Weber book explains in detail about the characters of different food and also how to take advantage of their characters not just deal with them. I was able to understand the grill better because I understand the food, which the grill is designed to deal with, better.

I am not going to say too much about grills other than Weber's because I've never used them. All the knowledge I have about them is from other people's experience. The conclusion I draw from my research,, web sites, Consumer Report and a cooking magazine(forgot name), is that if you want the same cooking quality like Weber, you would have to pay more than 3 times for other brands. And Weber throw in the unparalleled durability and quality pre/post sale customer service for free.

I bought the Genesis Gold C because of the durability of Stainless steel parts. Though many people in their review said the cast iron sear stack better. I still went for the stainless steel and paid more. Now, after 3 meal of perfectly seared stack, I realized that I could have saved some if I went for the Genesis Silver. No regret though. I would not recommend stainless steel grates other than the solid thick bar type grates on other brand's grill. The reason Weber's relative thin stainless steel grates can still sear great is because the grill can reach 800F. Yes, you read me correctly, my Weber can reach Eight Hundred Degree F with only 36000 BTUs. This actually caused me some problem when I tried to do some medium temperature cooking. The grill would not drop below 300F. I read about this in reviews and also called Weber. The reason is that the new stainless steal cover reflects heat too well. After several usage, the inside of cover looks dark brown and black and the grill surly can drop to around 250F now.

Not like the Coleman, which grills food pretty well but took my friend 6 hours to assemble. My Weber took me 15 min to assemble. Only 8 big scrolls. Weber even provides tools to do it.

Weber's customer service is perfect. Never had to wait for more than 2 min. You might say if the grill's quality is good, why would you ever call customer support. This might be true for you expert grillers, but not for me. I appreciate very much Weber support people's courtesy and knowledge of their product.

I can't say my Weber is the best looking grill. To be honest, it actually look cheap. When my wife saw my Weber the first time, she said "What, you spent $??? for this?" I said "Wait till you try the baby back ribs". She now constantly beg me to grill. Partly because then she does not have to cook, but I believe it's mostly because the quality of food from "My Weber". :-)

5-0 out of 5 stars well worth it...
i recently purchased the GENESIS GOLD C at a great price on amazon .com..also free shipping,,i saved myself about $150.00 as opposed to buying at a retailer it was well worth the money,,,the stainless stell looks great,,but not as important as the way it cooks,,,everything ive cooked so far,,steaks ribs, chicken, etc,, ive grilled and steamed vegetables, has tasted great,,the 15 min assy claim is a litle wishful thinking ,,it took me about an hour,,

5-0 out of 5 stars Supergrill!!
We're heading into our second summer with our Genesis Gold C. It's been GREAT! It is very well designed and built. The flexibility of the 3 burners with the wide heat output range makes anything possible. It's a nice big grill, something I've needed for a long time. I added the smoker accessory which takes away about 3 inches of grill space, but there's still plenty left. And the smoker works well. I especially like all the "counter" space you get with the Gold C. I haven't used the side burner as much as I expected, but it was handy when I wanted it. It's so unbelievably good to not have to deal with charcoal! Turn it on, turn it off - so simple, so clean! When I was shopping, I was concerned about the welded sheet metal grate. I was skeptical that they wouldn't cook the meat as well as welded rods (like those in the Summit) or the cast iron grate that comes with this grill at Home Depot. No worry - the stainless steel grate works wonderfully! It cleans up real nice and it isn't rusting away or sagging, at all.

I have to warn about the accessories. The reviewer that gave it 1 star was right about the cover. Of course, he is way out of line giving the grill a bad rating because of the optional cover. The cover has mesh vents right above the hood handle. A lot of rain and dirt can get in where you really don't want it. I also have had no luck making the funny basket style rotisserie work. I have a friend that bought the same grill and the same rotisserie, and he says it works fine for him. I guess I just don't get how to work it. As I said, the smoker was a good investment. Oh, yeah, the cast iron griddle is really neat. It eats up half of the grill space (more than half if you leave the smoker in), but grilling onions, peppers, mushrooms, etc. is much simpler on a griddle than a grate. And it fits on our gas stove in the kitchen, too. (psst.. I had to go elsewhere to get the griddle and the smoker - amazon didn't have them, am I allowed to say Abt?)

There are only a couple things that bother me about the grill: the wheels and the way the frame screws tend to work loose. The main wheels are the same as those on my old (real old) Weber Kettle, and those eventually disintegrated. The Genesis wheels show no signs of that happening, but eventually, I'm afraid they will. The little swivel casters on the other end really don't feel like outdoor sort of wheels. They get bogged down in my grass and I tend to lift that end and move it around like a wheel barrow. Maybe that's what causes the frame screws to periodically work loose. That's annoying, but easily fixed with a socket wrench.

But, you know what? The Genesis performs so overwhelmingly well that those complaints pale in comparison. So I will still give it an enthusiastic 5 stars! I love it! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy This Defective Product
I wish I had read the other reviews before ordering this piece of crap cedar storage bench. This is anything except "easy to assemble" as there were two holes predrilled incorrectly, and the interlocking anchors make it quite difficult to re-drill the holes (which I managed to do with some difficulty). In addition, the hinges provided either do not fit the job, or again the specs of this need-to-assemble storage box were off so that you have to cut several corner pieces to allow the top to seat correctly in place. I can say that this is the worst example of engineering thatI have ever seen. Moreover, I had also ordered two of the planter-trellances, which began to fall apart as I assembled it (requiring additional glueing and additional screws just to keep it together). No more purchases from this company for me!

If relaxing or working outdoors where you live feels like killing time in a bug-infested torture chamber, the Mosquito Trap from Lentek may be your liberator. Powered by propane and electricity, the trap covers up to 3/4 of an acre at a time and runs for up to four weeks on a single tank of propane. Operating without toxic fumes, the trap uses a combination of carbon dioxide, moisture, color, airflow, and thermal imaging (simulated body temperature) to ensnare blood-sucking, egg-laying female insects. With use over time, the mosquito population in the area should markedly decline.

Set up of the trap is simple, as is removing the dead bugs from their mesh capture chamber. Designed to be weather-proof, the trap includes three stakes for securing it to the ground. Keep in mind that the unit is most effective when placed 30-40 feet from the area you want to rid of mosquitoes, so it may require an extension cord or creative placement. Lentek also emphasizes that the trap is made for gradual, around-the-clock use, not for occasional or immediate extermination. Assembled, the trap stands 53-1/2 inches high and measures 18 inches in diameter at the base ring. It is UL-listed and comes with a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
Everyone that comes to our house has to laugh when the dogs ring the bell to go out. Very fast learning curve for the dogs. One of my dogs will occasionally lay down with the paw between her paws and put 1 paw on it so it barks continuously until I come. No problem with the range. I did have one that stopped working after a year and Lentex replaced it, with a compelete new unit, immediately.

2-0 out of 5 stars Pet Chime
In December 2002, I purchased the pet chime and paw & two additional paws. I was extremely satisfied with them until the past couple of weeks. In the past couple of weeks 2 paws have stopped working for unknown reasons and repeated emails and phone calls have gone unanswered by Lentek. They're great, IF THEY WORK!

1-0 out of 5 stars Does not work more than 1 foot away
I just got this from Amazon - working on returning there is no range between the PAW and doorbell chime. Even at 2 - 3 feet away with brand new batteries it seems to have issues. I thought it would be more usable than a hanging bell and easier to install with less holes and hardware. The PAW is more like a toy so you have to mount it and since there is no range u have to mount the reciever directly above it. With the range of the one I have it would of made sense to combine the two.

5-0 out of 5 stars An awsome product!
For weeks I was trying to think of how I would get my dog to tell me when he wanted to go out. THis did the trick! ... Read more

No more squinting at a column of mercury to learn whether it'sa jacket day or a shorts day. This two-unit, remote thermometeraccurately displays the indoor temperature (inside a house symbol), aswell as the outdoor temperature in larger digital numbers. Simply placethe remote sensor unit outside, whether on a porch table or mounted onthe side of the house, and keep the main receiver unit on a desk orwall. Or, place the sensor in the baby's room or wine cellar, whereevery degree counts. A 32-yard (30-meter) transmission range ispossible between the two units, and the sensor sends data to thereceiver every 30 seconds. Operating at a transmission frequency of 433MHz, the thermometer is usable in many countries overseas. The displayshows temperatures to a tenth of a degree, in either Fahrenheit orCelsius. Three channels let the main unit support up to three sensors. Each unit requires two AA batteries for operation (not included). Theindoor unit measures 3-1/4 by 2-7/8 by 1-1/4 inches, and the outdoorsensor measures 4 by 2-3/4 by 7/8 inches. This thermometer is coveredby a 90-day warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fine System, displayed range is for warmer climates.
When the Oregon Scientific Cable-Free Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer model MTR101 came up in my Gold Box offer, I checked out the specifications on Oregon Scientific's web page. This is what I found:

Displayed range: 14.2 degrees Fahrenheit to 158 degrees Fahrenheit (-9.9 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius)

I trust Oregon Scientific's quality as I have used their products in the past. However, this particular unit would not be much use to me because I live far enough North that it can get down to 20 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. 14 degrees Fahrenheit is a heat wave around here, especially after the cold, cold winter that we've had this year. Anyway, this is a perfectly fine and extremely well-priced unit for warmer parts of the world.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great gift for the weather watchers in your life!
Ever wonder who watches the Weather Channel? Lots and lots of people, and these are the people who will love this product. I gave it to my husband for Christmas. He's usually very difficult to buy for, but this was a hit! He was always looking outside at the outdoor thermometer, which wasn't all that accurate to begin with, and difficult to see at night. Now he can sit in the comfort of his easy chair and tell you exactly what the temperature is, indoors or out, any time of the day or night. He can put it on his nightstand and see it when he wakes up and use the information to help him select the right clothes to go outside. The alarm feature that operates when the temperature drops below zero was evidently disabled when we got it. However, the directions tell you about that so you don't have an unpleasant surprise in the middle of the night. My next gift would be to add a couple of additional remotes - he thinks it would be useful to know what the temperature is in the garage. If you want to know the temperature, you'll enjoy this product. One thing I think would make this product better would be if the display was lighted to make it easier to see in the dark. Perhaps the more expensive models have this feature?

4-0 out of 5 stars The temperature ...and a little more...
First and foremost, it's a great thermometer. It works just as advertised. I set my remote sensor 50 feet away on the fence and it records the temperature perfectly!

That said, I do have one caution. The unit was developed to give a warning once the temperature drops below 2 degrees C (About 37F). I had placed the monitor unit in my bedroom and the first night that I put it up, the warning went off. I was half dressed before I realized it wasn't my alarm clock going off at 2:00 am! You can bypass this feature by setting the switch in the back to unit 2 or 3. I encourage you to do this unless you live in an area that doesn't get cold in the winter! ... Read more
