5-0 out of 5 stars wish i'd found this sooner!
This product works so well and is so easy to use my 5 y.o. son and 88 y.o. grandma can operate it. I just ordered more.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Gardena Product!
Love the hose attachments from Gardena. So easy on my wrists and arthritic fingers. They hold up beautifully in the Arizona sun, and unless I accidentally step on a connection, are holding up for many years. Our local hardware store stopped carrying the Gardena attachments and I was so delighted to find them at Amazon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Watering Made Easy
Anybody who is still walking back to the spigot and twisting the end of a cold dirty hose eveytime they want to move a sprinkler is living in the last century. With the WATERSTOP connection you do not have to turn off the water every time you change attachments or add or delete hose. You can change attachments while while the hose system is fully pressurized while wearing your dress clothing; it is that simple and clean.

5-0 out of 5 stars About as good as they get!
By far the smoothest and easiest to use of the plastic quick connect fittings. Have tried many others and they don't compare to the Gardenas. Don't know what kind of plastic they use, but the Texas sun doesn't seem to bother it . . . . they just keep on working. You will wonder how you ever got along without these - one for every hose and watering device is a must!

5-0 out of 5 stars Gardena: Great Idea & Greater Value
Don't worry about the durability of Gardena gear; we have Gardena products around our house that have served us well for over twenty years.

We first saw Gardena at one of our big local hardware stores in 1978. At that time, the Gardena quick-connect stuff was just what we were looking for; the quick couplings on the compressed air system in the garage was so handy to use that we were inspired to try those (expensive!) air fittings with our outdoor water. That's right, rust would have been a big problem!

Fortunately, the store we went to had a big display of the then new (to us) Gardena products and we saw that they were clearly the answer. Back then, Gardena made a very cool car washing brush that attched to the end of the hose with a Gardena connector, but it also took a little pink stick of what turned out to be some of the best car wash soap we've ever used. Water flowing through the hose made suds of the soap stick (shampoo stick, they called it) and did a dandy job on the car or boat, then the soap ran out and you'd rinse the soap out of the brush and off the car without missing a beat.

Gardena has a well conceived product with excellent durability at a good price. Now that we've found a new source for this stuff at amazon.com, the ONLY drawback, in our view, is that Gardena is not an American-made product. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Electronic water timers
The Gilmour 9100 model is simple and reliable. I have used other timers with liquid crystal readouts from Gilmour and others and find that the displays generally die or partially die after about one year. The 9100 however seems to remain dry and working for much longer, (2 years and counting). I understand that it has only 1 cycle per day but for my needs this has proven adequate.

4-0 out of 5 stars Simple and reliable
My comments will mirror most of those already on here. I'd had horrible luck in a previous year with a Nelson brand timer - four C batteries would last barely two weeks, and worse, would fail with the valve open! Last year I bought one of these Gilmour timers, and it's like night and day. I'm still on the original batteries, it's reliable, and once you get the hang of it, easy to program. While the programming interface is very simplistic, it might not be for everyone (_because_ it's so simplistic, it could be confusing). There's a fairly significant water hammer when it shuts off, and I worry a bit about these old pipes, but they're due for replacement soon anyway, so I won't worry too much. At any rate, I like this timer so much after a year on a couple of flower beds that I'm buying two more today to work the lawn too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still going after 2 years
I then got the Gilmour 9100 and have been surprised at how robust and reliable it has been since day one. Once you get the hang of it, programming is fast and, although only through beeps, actually very informative as to the schedule. You can turn it on temporarily without sacrificing the program and even have a timed session right then and there. I've also been amazed at this unit working everyday through pouring rain and baking sun for almost two years yet still using only its original batteries. I highly recommend it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Watch out for the "Water Hammer"
Used this product last summer. It is easy to operate and works as advertised. However, the rubber diaphragm, which controls the water flow goes from totally closed to totally open in an instant, which creates, at least in my plumbing, a banging water hammer effect on my basement pipes.

I'm going back to the Melnor product this year. It's turning mechancal valve allows for a gradual transition from on to off
which eliminated the pounding on the pipes.

Gardena's Aquazoom oscillating sprinkler features triple option controls: width adjusts from 13 to 56 feet, range adjusts from 23 to 60 feet, and water flow can be changed from low to high pressure. The maximum coverage area is 3,760 square feet. The sprinkler has 18 nozzles and a special needle for nozzle cleaning, as well as a metal filter to protect the sprinkler from dirt. Gardena has fitted the sprinkler with dirt-insensitive turbo-drive gears for even water distribution. One thing to keep in mind with any oscillating sprinkler is that its high-arcing spray can lead to high levels of evaporation and water loss due to wind. Replacement policy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Sprinkler I Have Ever Owned
An excited next door neighbor told me of a local store that was selling this Gardena sprinkler. He also told me that "this is the best sprinkler I have ever Owned". I ran out and bought one immediately because I use several sprinklers, which are connected to the water discharge hose of my geo-thermal heat pump/air conditioner 24 hours each day. That was over a year ago. I am now placing an order for the second Gardena sprinkler because it "IS" the best sprinkler "I" have ever owned!

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing!
I don't do a lot of overhead watering. The various beds around my yard all have soaker hoses or drip irrigation. That leaves the lawn.

My lot is an odd-sized lot to begin with, and after you toss in the house, the driveway, paths, patios, trees and beds, what's left is very oddly shapped. I thought about installing an underground system with many little heads all designed to fit in the little nooks and cranies, but I really don't water the lawn often enough to make it worth it.

On the other hand, I've gone through a lot of different sprinklers. I've had the cheap "dial-a-pattern" type. I've had the red square thing. I've had the rotating spray type. And I've had more than one oscillating sprinkler. The oscillators tended to breakdown the fastest, and that's why I was hessitating spending so much money on another one.

But this one is different. The design and constrution are such that I don't anticipate it locking-up as the typical oscillating sprinkler does. It also has more controls than you can imagine. You can adjust the width, height, and angle. And you can turn-off the water before it rains down on you! All your adjustments can be made at the sprikler without having to adjust the flow at the faucet.

The biggest obstical Gardena must be facing is convincing people to spend so much on a oscillating sprinkler. But I have to say that while I had my doubts, I think it's a great investment.

5-0 out of 5 stars A high quality sprinkler
This sprinkler covers a fairly large area, is easily adjusted for width and range, and is well built. I've used one for a few seasons, and am ordering another. It does not leak, and has never clogged. It also has a very stable sled base.

It's especially useful for watering long, narrow side lots, or a row of planting beds. It's about two or three times the price of most oscillating sprinklers you'll find at the home center, but you get what you pay for. Gardena makes very high quality sprinklers.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best sprinkler ever made
This is the best sprinkler made. I'm going to buy one of these for each of our family members for Christmas. They will enjoying using this product and it's dependable, too. It is the best. Thank You, VP

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It !!!
Good lord, I actually enjoy watering the lawn!! The traveling sprinkler works great: I set a course with the hose, dial in the tractor speed, adjust the spray nozzles for the desired spray diameter, and let it go. After it runs the course, it automatically shuts off. The downside: pedestrians want to chat about it (does it really work? is it actually moving?? where'd you get it??). But EVERYONE who sees it, smiles. Have a great summer.

5-0 out of 5 stars A real work horse!
If you have nothing to do on a summer day spend a few minutes watching your rain train. Is it really moving? Yes, it is and it is a marvelous thing! The un-sung hero of the garden store. The rain train will stop you from dragging that hose. Put her on at bed time and save water. Stop dragging that hose around, and don't break the budget quite yet on that sprinkiling system. If the budget is really tight, invest in and mini-umbrella for your smoothie and kick back and watch while the sprinkler does the work. :o)
Sorry.... it's late and I am a little silly. But hope this helps you.

2-0 out of 5 stars This ole tractor ain't what it used to be.
Now on my third Nelson Traveling Sprinkler that has busted down during its second use. Seems like something is wrong in the gear box as it attempts to move forward, but just clicks and bounces back. And yes, the spray arms are aimed correctly. The first two were exchanged because the cheap plastic black tee connector cracked and leaked after there first use. One would think a brass tee would apply here. Not knowing how well this product was made in the past, but today Traveling Sprinkler seems to have cut corners in quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the effort it takes to learn to use...
With a bit of experimentation you can water your yard well and inexpensively.

    Amazon.com Review

This innovative oscillating sprinkler design can water medium-to-large yards, is fully adjustable, and comes with a built-in timer and flow control mechanisms. While many oscillating sprinklers allow you to adjust the range of the spray, this one also provides adjustments for controlling the width and the water flow. At the highest water pressure (56 psi), the width can be adjusted from 13 to 56 feet and the range from 23 to 69 feet. At low water pressure (28 psi), the width can be set from 11-1/2 to 47-1/2 feet and the range from 19-1/2 to 56.7 feet. The timer allows you to select watering times from 15 to 120 minutes, or it can be bypassed for constant flow. Gardena includes its Quick Connector hose adapter for easy time-saving hose changes and a special needle for keeping spray nozzles clean. The Aquazoom provides all the versatility and design features you could ask for in an oscillating sprinkler. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Aqua Zoom 350 Best I'ver EVER used
First one I purchased is on it's 3rd year with no problems. Any other sprinkler I've ever had lasts about one season & either the holes clog or it stops the back & forth movement.
Aqua Zoom 350 has a reliable timer (saving on my ever increasing water bill) and more settings so I can focus on what I want to water- less running down the ditches.
Have recently purchased another one .. only because I have a really big yard.

5-0 out of 5 stars best sprinkler I have ever used.
I have been looking for this sprinkler all my life - one that really works. We have iron in our water and, in fact, this is the 3rd year this sprinkler is still going strong. Great features: ease of use to set up sprinkling pattern, also small half-dials both sides of sprinkler to monitor sprinkle width. It had gotten clogged this summer, took off hose and pulled out debris which had stayed directly in front in-reach. Sprinkling holes never get clogged. I want another! I found it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Broken and can't find repalcement parts
I loved the item when I received it as a father's day gift. When I was ill a young man mowing my lawn broke the connector (a Beige piece right by the timer) that connects the sprinkler to the hose. I would like to replace the broken part but I have none of the information that came with the product. I am not only interested in replacing the part but if I can find a way to maintain the product I would be interested in purchasing another. I also cannot find a retailer who carries the product in my area.

3-0 out of 5 stars fragile
I loved this sprinkler while it worked. It is extremely adjustable. The problem is that the connection breaks off the timer and renders the thing useless. Enjoy but be very gentle.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great sprinkler, when it works.
I bought one of these units and really liked it when I started using it. Set it all up and went away thinking all would be well until the timer expired. However, looking out the window a half hour later, the unit was stuck at one end. I went out and nudged it and it started again. Stuck again within 5 minutes. I've repeated this several times including adjusting the fan and the rake. Keeps getting stuck. I then bought one of those faucet pressure meters and I have about 55 pounds so pressure is not the problem.

Now it sits and looks good. Too bad cause it was great while it lasted. About 5 minutes that is. ... Read more

Do you need to water your lawn or garden but don't want to be bothered with running out to shut off the sprinkler system? This Gardena water timer may be just the solution you've been seeking. The small timer attaches directly to your outdoor spigot and operates similar to a conventional kitchen timer. Simply turn the dial face to the number of minutes you want your sprinkler running, and, when the time has elapsed, your system will be shut off automatically, saving you trouble and preventing the mess and damage caused by puddles. The unit also contains a quick connector that attaches to your hose and allows it to be easily and quickly joined to the timer without a lot of twisting. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great way to water
I just love this timer. It's the only manual timer I've found that actually works, and using it to water my large garden with soaker hoses is the ideal way to keep everything from getting thirsty while conserving water at the same time and watering in the best way for plants to boot!!!

I've tried several timers, and this one is the best. I won't buy anything else!

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally one that keeps working
I live in the country and have a water well. I live in a sandy area and my well puts out a sand residue. This has froze up all previous timers I have purchased. Since this one works off a spring it has not failed me yet. I water about 20,000 sq feet. I can finally set my timer and not come back or wack up and find that the timer has frozen up and watered all day or night!!!!! Now if only I can could find a sprinkler that would last as long.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny!
Did you ever turn the hose on to water the lawn and have it stay on all night because you forgot to turn it off? Never again with this great accessory.

1-0 out of 5 stars New Version Not so Great...
I've been using Gardena water timers(model 31169-4) for years and although there is not much difference in the price there sure is a big difference in the Quality. The really tough older models were manufactured in Germany and the clocks went forever. I ordered some new ones through Amazon and one is already KAPUT! It just doesn't shut off! Before you pay $25 for one of these timers check out other brands...It wouldn't surprise me if Gardena moved its manufacturing to China and this is the result.

5-0 out of 5 stars A much better water timer.
Some water timers work by measuring the amount of water that has passed through them. The one of that type I previously used suffered from quality problems and does not seem to be available anymore. The Gardena 31169-4 Water Timer is different. It has a mechanical timer that counts minutes. This makes more sense to me as I know how long I want the water to run but have no idea how to translate time to gallons of water. So the first benefit that makes the Gardena water timer better is that it actually measures time. The second benefit is that it shuts off slowly rather than with a sudden jolt. The device I previously used had the jolt shut off method which seemed to put stress on it each time it shut off. In contrast the Gardena shuts off in a civilized manner that slowly reduces the water flow until it stops. A third benefit is that after having been installed, it can be rotated to the best position for viewing the dial. These three benefits demonstrate thoughtful design. In addition to its excellent design, the Gardena exudes the look and feel of quality. It is made of glossy finished plastic that has a reassuringly resilient feel. The parts seem to have been made with precision and the edges are rounded. I knew it was great quality the second I opened the box. A label says "Made in Germany". There are cheeper water timers available, but I get more value from this one and more peace of mind that it will function properly when it is time to shut off. ... Read more

Why waste time filling up a watering can to water your houseplants when you can easily bring water straight from the faucet? A few quick twists onto a nearby interior faucet and the watering can begin. The 50-foot-long SpringJet is a coiled 1/4-inch hose made of extremely flexible, lightweight material. The coiled hose will not kink or tangle, and the wand is long enough to reach hanging baskets and window flower boxes with little effort. The first item i got was defective. However, people at plastair were very kind and sent me a replacement that works fine!

2-0 out of 5 stars ended up needing adaptors to get this working
Ok, I live in a very very small condo. I have a end / ground floor unit so I have quite a bit of planting space and a fairly large patio. For months I had been lugging pails of water back and forth.
Not having access to an outdoor spigot I needed a hose that could attach to a indoor sink and I wanted it to stow away in a small space.
I ordered this hose set up from amazon. It came in a very worn box with no packing or instrucions. As a another reviewer stated this hose may NOT work out of the box with some faucets. That was my problem ... I had to purchase an adaptor ($$$) to get a threaded faucet end. Sadly, I had to purchase yet another adpater($$$) to get the right combo of female/male (?) end...and finally I have a working hose. Thats works just ok and does not have great water pressure nor reaches 50 feet.Another problem the "wand" with use keeps popping off. You can fix this by turning off the water and then reattaching it and then tighting it... a lot of work with this hose .After two weeks of daily use it also has devloped a small leak at the wand to hose part .I also have a mess of adapters on my faucet (UGGH!) My advice check out local stores and check your faucet BEFORE ordering this item!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cuts down watering time dramatically!
I love this tool for easy plant watering. It's lightweight and the 50' length can reach all of my potted plants on the main floor of my house, the front porch, and back deck without changing faucets. No more filling pitchers over and over and walking back and forth dripping on the floor. As is typical, it leaks slightly at the faucet attachment, but that drains into the sink so there is no mess. Also, the plastic coupler is sometimes difficult to unscrew from the faucet when finished.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for apartment-dwellers
This is a fabulous product--let me count the ways:

    1) Attractive and nicely designed, nice color, convenient trigger-mechanism to turn on water, easily adjustable spray, and the cord never gets tangled.

    2) Easily attaches to kitchen or bathroom sinks--it comes with an adapter with both male and female threads, so it will hook up to almost all sinks. But, the adapter is a little difficult to unscrew, so I bought (for about $1.50 from Home Depot) a different adaptor to leave on my sink all the time, complete with an aerator, so that I can just screw on the hose when I want to use it. I leave the whole hose in the cabinet under my bathroom sink so that it's handy when I want to use it.

    3) Perfect for apartment-dwellers: I live in a fifth-floor brownstone walkup, but I have a lot of plants inside and a balcony with lots of plants outside. The hose easily stretches the 30 feet from my bathroom sink to the balcony, and I can water my tomato plants and pea plants without carrying pitcher after pitcher of water outside. Furthermore, it's great for washing windows from the outside, cleaning off the balcony after a storm, and filling up tubs for apple-ducking or other activities.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for indoors!
I was brousing through Amazon.com a few weeks ago and noticed the SpringHose/SpringJet. I had seen them
in stores, and really liked the idea and convenience of this product. Upon further review and price
comparison on Quality, amazon.com has the most competitive price available for this product.
Considering it is a North American made product, I love that I can rely on its lifetime warranty. I
have enjoyed the many conveniences this product has brought, not only to my garden But for indoor watering plants as well.
Many thanks, I Give full marks for the SpringHose!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Innovative Sprinkler Design by Gilmour
I have used this sprinkler now for two months. It's great. It solves the problem of watering a rectangular area with a sprinkler that waters in an arc.It does this by allowing you to adjust the spray distance throught the entire arc.No other pulse sprinkler does this.Takes a bit of playing with to get the pattern right, but once set it distributes the water right where you want it, without overspraying some areas and underwatering others.Very affordable too!

5-0 out of 5 stars An above ground sprinkler system
The pattern master sprinkler is the closest thing to installing a sprinkler system, without all the labor and costs associated with the usual in-ground system.I am about to buy my third Gilmour pattern master. One was involved in a vehicle fatality, and the other two finally gave into South Texas weather conditions. However, the two surviving sprinklers dedicated three - four years each to keeping my yard green.I have a front yard divided into four individual squares by sidewalks. To complicate matters I live in San Antonio, where water restrictions are a year round issue. This sprinkler allows me to water accurately, eliminating accidental watering of sidewalks and the front porch. The back yard is wide and long. This sprinkler allows me to water the entire yard, and adjust the spray so that I don't water the storage sheds or plants not requiring any water. The only draw back is that with our water pressure, if you place the sprinkler on a flat surface - example driveway or sidewalk - it will travel on you.I just weigh it down with a brick or stone that I have in one of my planting beds. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Gardena flow control nozzle
I've been using these hose nozzles for almost 10 years and I really like them. They work well and have great "feel" but, unfortunately, they're somewhat fragile. Figure on replacing it annually, maybe once every 2 years if you're REALLY careful. One drop onto concrete from waist height and it'll break. Leave the water on 24/7 and the pressure will crack the body. Still, they're light and the plastic body means less potential for paint damage when washing your car. Despite the fragile factor I keep buying these because I haven't found a nozzle I like better.

4-0 out of 5 stars Gardena Products convenient and reliable
I have used Gardena Products for years and love them. They are convenient and reliable. This nozzle is another great example.

But the 4 pound shipping weight on this item is rediculous. Including shipping materials the shipping weight is no more than a half pound.

    Amazon.com Review

If you'd rather have time to sip lemonade than spend time watering your lawn or garden, start thinking about a Melnor electronic water timer. Here's how simple it can be: attach the timer to your hose faucet, press a few buttons, and use the digital display to set the clock; then just press a few more buttons to establish a preset schedule, watering up to six times a day. That's it! You're free to enjoy a frosty beverage on your deck. Or water while you sleep in, taking advantage of the cool morning air to avoid excess evaporation. Either way, you won't have to worry about overwatering.

This is Melnor's most advanced timer, so programming your own watering schedule (instead of using one of the five preset schedules) may take you a few minutes with the aid of the instruction manual. That said, the timer's infinite programmability and ability to water up to six times a day more than compensates for its operational complexity. The timer runs on two AA batteries (not included). Two-year limited warranty. ... Read more

    • Infinitely programmable 6-cycles
    • Never over water again, simply set and forget
    • Program to automatically start and shut off
    • Works with low pressure drip and soaker hoses
    • Set to water while you are away or at night

5-0 out of 5 stars Most versatile timer/mister I've seen
I own two of these and love them. This has the most flexible scheduling I've ever seen. You can use the mist setting which allows the timer to run for 2,5,10, or 15 minutes then set off for 10 minutes then turn back on again. This is the best feature as it allows the water to soak into the ground instead of run off not to mention lower watering bills for the same green lawn.
If you have weak water pressure, using this mist setting to have two of the timers alternating between on and off. One is on for 10 minutes while the other is off.

For large sod installations, this timer is great. If you buy a 4-1 splitter of the main pipe, then attach these timers, then a 2 to 1 splitter, you can run 8 sprinklers on alternating time patters that allow each set of sprinklers to maintain high water pressure. No more moving sprinklers around!

You can set 6 different on/off times during ONE day if you need to. Great for new sod or overseeding a yard. Keeps it wet all day. You can select which days of the week to run or odd/even. It saves 5 different schedules. There's even a schedule that only runs once.

The other feature I love is the elmination of "water hammer." With other timers, you know when it stops because of that loud THUD! This timer has a more gradual open and shutting of the valve that elimnates that loud thud in your pipes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best I've used so far
I use this timer for two drip irrigation systems and it has been fantastic. You will not find this many features elsewhere for the same money. The programming is reasonably intuitive and easy to learn, and once you get the hang of it you can create a new program in seconds. I created five programs with varying watering times so that as the weather changes I can easily increase or decrease the amount of water delivered by just switching programs.

I haven't had any problems with reliability or battery usage. My timers were both running at least once a day all summer and after four months of this they were still going, so I don't know why others were having problems with this. Someone else recommended Nelson timers but I disagree - I went through nine or ten Nelson EasySet timers and they all failed (OSH took them back under warranty). Besides, the Nelsons use C batteries, which are more expensive than the AA batteries used by the Melnor.

3-0 out of 5 stars A mixed bag
The good: This is by far the most flexible timer I could find. I have not had any problem with battery life. I ran the timer every day during the spring and summer and it lasted until the next season.

The bad: I second the notion that the plastic hose connector is a bad design. I have three of these timers and one of them sprung a leak after only a year of use. Another drawback is that the programming interface is not intuitive. I have bungled the programming on more than one occasion, and in one case I was able to create a watering schedule that was scheduled to water on no days! What good is that? Another problem is that one of my timers got water inside and damaged the display. It is still readable, but obviously it wasn't watertight.

2-0 out of 5 stars There are better options
I have owned 3 of these Melnor timers and must say that they are quite flexible. But they are not intuitively easy to program and they suffer from the major flaw in faucet timers - a plastic connection to the faucet. Over time, the connection will loosen and water will leak into the unit and cause it to fail for any number of reasons including rust, battery corrosion, etc.
Simply stated, never buy a faucet timer that doesn't have a brass connection to the faucet. I have had good luck with Orbit timers and they provide a 4 year warranty on at least some of their models.

1-0 out of 5 stars Look elsewhere
Features are great (thus the one star) but of the three I purchased two years ago, two died within the first year and the third is not working well now. Water gets into the electronics and shorts out the circuits. Plus one of them would not turn off the water completely. Strongly suggest you try a different manufacturer. ... Read more

The innovative HydroFan offers all the width and range of a normal oscillator in a remarkably compact sprinkler. Designed for medium-to-large yard and garden areas, the HydroFan covers a rectangle 52 feet wide by 62 feet long, a total area of 3,200 square feet. It utilizes a smooth-moving and quiet-operating turbo-gear motor, precision nozzles, and a short switch time for even, puddle-free coverage. 5-0 out of 5 stars Best Sprinkler I've ever owned
I'm here after failing to find another Gardena Grande locally. I've own two of these: one I've had for about 13 years (it's pretty much toast, but what do you expect from a plastic sprinkler?), and the other one for about 7 or 8 years. Despite the comments of others, I've found this sprinkler's durability to be one of its best assets. In my experience, if these sprinklers stop oscillating, it's because they've been stepped on - that bends the aluminum tube skids that connect both ends and can pinch the middle part to keep it from oscillating. Carefully straighten them out again, and it should work fine.

I've tried various others, including Melnors and Craftsman sprinklers that cost much more, but this is by far the most versatile and useful sprinkler I've ever owned. There's nothing that rivals the ease and flexibility of Gardena's tab system for adjusting the width of the sweep on the fly - if there was just a way to locally control the flow (and thus the length of the sweep), it would be perfect.

I'm puzzled by several other reviewers that say thiers stoppped oscillating shortly after purchase. Maybe they've changed the design, or maybe I'm just lucky (with sprinklers, anyway...), but I've certainly not treated mine with kid gloves, and they've been working fine for years. Occasional sticking is the reason I need a new one to replace my oldest one, but, heck, the thing has lived 13 years in the Texas sun: The adjusting rings are a pale coral now, and the plastic is starting to flake off all over - it's even outlived two or three Gardena quick-connects and half a dozen o-rings. I've certainly gotten my money's worth - Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little sprinkler
I have used one of these little Gardena sprinklers for 15 years and found it reliable and easy to set for the area I wanted to water. It doesn't puddle and leak as so many oscillating sprinklers do. It is easy to set the spray to water small, narrow spaces, such as our 10' wide side yard without over-spray onto our neighbor's car or into our windows. I would recommend it to anyone who wants precise watering without waste.

1-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Performance - Short Lifetime
The sprinkler performed excellent however stopped functioning three months into service - frustrated I disposed of it.

1-0 out of 5 stars A disposable sprinkler
I add my disappointment to those others who have complained that the OSCILLATOR quit after a few uses. This happened to me after two or three weeks. I have a Gardena sprinkler that I've had for almost 8 years, so I was a Gardena fan before I bought this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best sprinker - PERIOD!
I have owned many sprinklers and this one is the best. It is so easy to control the direction of the spray - no more getting hit in the face with a full spray of water! Also included is an attachement for hose easy on/off. I just love it! ... Read more

If you've tripped over your hose one too many times and you don't have room in your backyard for a freestanding cart, this hose reel will get you organized while taking up very little space. It mounts directly to an exterior wall and can be placed at any height. The Easylink system reduces water leakage, holds up to 225 feet of hose, and comes with the Slide-Trak hose guide for easy reeling. If your hose tends to get very muddy, you'll need to clean the hose guide occasionally. Mounting is easy, but you'll need four wall screws (not included) and a decent drill/driver. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted (again)
I had one of these for at least 8 years before it finally wore out from the abuse I gave it. I have 200' of 3/4 inch rubber hose on it that I use to water the yard, garden and flower beds several times a week in the growing season. I thought I was going to have to spend close to $100 for a similar type hose reel that was made of steel because I couldn't find this one anywhere. I was so glad to find it here I bought 2!! These seem to be better made than my original one, especially the side reels, which are much sturdier.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the price
I had one of these at my old house and liked it. The guide binds up a lot, but it never leaked and wound easily. It was exposed to lots of So Cal sun and didn't warp or crack in 2 years.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money.
These hose reels don't appear to be very well made. The hose guide is more trouble than it's worth. It needs a bottom support to be of much use. These are for very light use. I doubt they will last me one season in my yard.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Unit
I am replacing my old unit only because i wore it out after five years in the Florida Sunshine. Will try another one. Can't delive the Texas review that his is a bad purchase.

1-0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware!
Stay away from this one! It's of extremely poor quality and not very sturdy. The sides of the reel warped within 24 hours of exposure to the afternoon sun, and the hose guide split the first time I used the reel. One positive thing, though; the water supply tube doesn't leak. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Breaks During Real Use
I like the Gardena interconnect system and was initially pleased with this nozzle also. After about 6 months use...I dropped the thing....a large crack came across the body of it and it was no longer useable. I think dropping this on the ground is a design requirement. Since then I've purchared a metal nozzle from another vendor with 7 spray options and a lower price!

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay nozzle
This nozzle is okay, but the knob to hold the position of the handle doesn't work that well. There should be more choices on the head as well since this product is high-priced. If you want a nozzle like this, buy a similar product made by Nelson (also sold here at amazon). ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor valve design
Valve never did open, even when the timer indicated it was open. Removed the electronic portion to inspect how the valve actually operates and noticed that a pin about the diameter of a needle is connected to a diaphram. The pin is pushed down by knob protruding from the electronic portion to open up the valve. For some uknown reason this pin was sliding past the diaphram failing to open the valve. It looks very flimsy and appears that it even if it did work right the first time that after a number of openings and closings that it would wear out rather quickly. The valve design needs to be revised to something more rigid and less flimsy. Its not worth $40. Thumbs down on this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gilmour 9400 water timer
I bought this around the middle of last summer to water my recently seeded yard. I could not be happier with it. It is easy to program and what's really nice is that your can program four different events for each day of the week. I couldn't ask for more. The timer was a great for keeping my seeds wet all day long. Did not give me any trouble and one set of batteries lasted all summer. Another nice feature is that it you can turn the water on and off with a single button push.

Simply the best single zone water timer.Enter the exact time, and have it go on at the right time. The digital display makes it easy to program.Multitude of programming options.I've had one working consistently for over two years, with no problens.Electronics remove easily for programming, leaving water connection on hose and facet. Good battery life too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gilmour 9400 water timer
I have used 4 brands of water timers over the past 15 years for our very large garden here in Northern California. Only the Gilmour 9400 timer has had the fewest issues so far in the 3 years I've owned them. A simple, logical, intuitive keypad layout & user interface make it very easy to use & program. It is well-sealed against water, dirt,& the bugs that loved to try to crawl inside all the other timers I've used. That's why I'm buying more of them to replace all the other brands(Melnor,Nelson,Gilmour)timers that have started to fail. The only odd thing about this timer is the battery contacts are connected as 2 pairs of parallel-connected AA cells. This is not too healthy for the batteries since the stronger cell of each pair will discharge into the weaker one, which could shorten the battery life a bit. I just install 2 AA cells in the battery box's outer 2 spots instead of 4 AA cells. The timers have worked just fine this way for 3 years so far. Perhaps I have two early-production models, newer ones may have different battery connections now. I'll let you know when these 4 new ones arrive from Amazon. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Gardena rules
Yes, it's very good, nice feel to it, like all Gardena stuff. I've had one go "out of tune" and no amount of fiddling with the works would make it go full volume again. The method of tying down the activation bar with a wire loop isn't as sturdy as it might be. Quibbles, I own one for every faucet. When they converted Eagle Hardware to Lowes they quit carrying Gardena. Just one more reason that every time I visit Lowes I wonder why I bothered.
