Amazing results!
I just tried my stovetop smoker and was amazed at the results. I've used a large outdoor smoker for years, and was skeptical about the stovetop smoker. I used it to prepare chicken breasts, and they cooked fast and were juicy and tender, and had just the right amount of smoke flavor. I'm looking forward to using my stovetop smoker for seafood and vegetables. It's a great way to add flavor to food, and a very healthy way to cook.

The smoker is constructed from heavy steel and is well made. I could smell the smoke as the food cooked, but it wasn't intense and there was no smoke in the house. I'll still use my outdoor smoker for batch cooking or for smoking large birds, but expect to get a lot of use out of the stovetop smoker.

Wonderful
I was very skeptical of how this product would work, but it is fantastic. I have an outdoor smoker, but I wanted something for smaller meals that I could use inside. It's a great, healthy way to add flavor to chicken and other meats. The instruction book's recommendation to smoke cheese proved to turn out fantastic as well.

I was skeptical, a stovetop smoker??? NO WAY, but I bought one anyway, and was impressed. The baby back ribs were tender juicy and smokey, as were the chicken breasts and the trout. I'm not saying you should toss out your grills and outdoor smokers, it does not take the place of either, but if your cooking a small amout of food for one or two people, its really good. Do not expect it to stay bright and shinney though, it will blacken more and more with each use, but they say in the instuctions, thats good becuase, you're using it

Exceptional value; excellent quality
This piece of cooking equipment is an exceptional value. It is made of heavy, durable stainless steel and is packaged with easy to read directions. We have priced these "smokers" at other places and have found the same quality at excessive prices. Thank you for making this smoker and poacher available.

A good substitute
As a city dweller, this is the best available product for smoking food indoors. Smoking is a wonderful cooking methodology which imparts flavor into food through the type of wood used and the smoke it produces.

To use the product, simply place the wood chips inside the base of the smoker and put the food that you wish to smoke in the tray on top. Virtually any food can be smoked. The guide that comes with the smoker provides suggestions for cooking times and a series of recipes to try. Or simply try your own. Personally, I love cooking pork loin ribs low (250 degrees) and slow (4 1/2 hours) in the oven in the smoker.

The best and most fun cooking tool!
We bought the Big Kahuna Burner with the gigantic 22" stainless steel wok. It is absolutely the best cooking tool we have ever bought! The burner gets incredibly hot, between 65-85,000 BTU's, making dinner easy to cook in 10 minutes. Stir fries are absolutely simple, with the meats incredibly tender without any special coating or marinades. Tonight we just made the best and lightest fried calamari ever, using the recipe from the Simply Ming cookbook. Better than Barbie!
These colorful kung fu gloves are designed to limit the wear and tear on your hands, and take my word, they do, I recently attempted to break some ice blocks with these and they preserved my skin. Comes in tangy summer colors also!

Great for BBQ Smoker
I purchased these for my Smoker on recommendations of other reviewers and I do not regret having these. They are comfortable and excellent to use. I though wearing gloves would be terrible in handling not only the Smoker but the food, the tools, etc. Was I wrong! I am so glad that I finally have stopped myself from being burned .. LOL

Great grilling gloves!
I bought these gloves with the intention of using them for arranging my charcoal before lighting the grill, but I got so much more. They are extra long so they protect your arm/sleeve from charcoal stains and they can withstand pretty much heat. I like to light the charcoal and then put my grid on while the fire is going. Now I don't worry about getting burned! Kids, don't try this without an adult present. I recommend these for anyone who loves to grill.

A brief comment
I lived for 25 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, and all I have to say is that heavy leather gloves have a different connotation up there. These don't make much of a style statement in that regard, but then these are a lot less money, too. So maybe they're best for cooking, after all. It takes a huge amount of oil to deep-fry and it's a shame tothrow it all away afterward. However, you can filter out any foodparticles and reuse oil as long as it's stored properly to avoidspoiling and reheated to a minimum of 350 degrees F for sterilization.Eastman Outdoors' cooking-oil filter pump takes the mess out of thefiltering process as there is no risk of spillage. Great Idea. Too bad it does not work!
I tried using this thing and it barely pumped out oil and then it fell apart in the oil. I junked it and dumped the oil. I wish it did work but it was a disaster. Eastman needs to go back to the drawing board on this one.

1 hit wonder
Congratulations to those who wrote to say this product worked two or three times for them. It worked once for me. At $30, this might be the worst purchase I have ever made.

JUNK PLASTIC AT BEST !!
This unit comes with only 3 filters. Now I know why, it is such a piece of junk that you will never get it to work 3 times for you. I bought it new, it worked the fist time, and although it did the job I wasn't very impressed with its performance, the second time I used it, it stopped working half way through the job for no apparent reason, new batteries and an hour of messing around with it could not bring it back to life, it was dead! Thats alot of money for an item that doesn't last through draining my turkey fryer more than once! It now is stored in its proper container where it belongs and will stay forever (my garbage can).

PUMP BROKE
After pumpimg less than three pots of oil the pump stopped running. I discovered one of the commutator contacts burnt up and the other close to failure. A total of about 30 mintes of run time before failure. Not very durable !!

Only lasted one use....
Good while it worked, but like someone else said, died on the second use. Maybe there is a reason they only supply 3 filters, if you get that many times you are doing well. Good idea, poorly done. ... Read more

This takes salmon to a whole new level!
I lived in the Pacific Northwest for the past 8 years, and I was always looking for new ways to prepare salmon. Poached salmon with a Hollandaise sauce is WONDERFUL (& easy!). Here's my recommendation for poaching liquid:
2 Quarts water
3 cups dry white wine
2/3 cup fresh lemon juice
2 small onions, quartered
3 carrots, chopped
3 sprigs fresh parsley
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 bay leaf
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. black peppercorns, cracked

Combine all ingredients in the poacher & bring to a boil with salmon (whole or pieces) in place. Reduce heat to a very low simmer for about 1 hour. Lift fish & serve with Hollandaise sauce.
