5-0 out of 5 stars Cool Family Tent
I have been camping for over 16 years and have owned several tents. I most recently owned a Greatland cabin tent which was very nice as far as roominess, but not so great in craftmanship. I opted to buy the Coleman 3 room family dome tent after camping with another family who just purchased one. After a hard night of Florida thunderstorms pounding down on us, they were bone dry the next morning. I was really impressed, and when the time came to purchase a new tent the choice was obvious. It also rained on us the first night we used it. We were happy to see no water leaks! I do need to apply the seam sealer as recommended by Coleman just to be safe for the next time. All in all the tent is very well made, fits back into the original bag with room to spare for the poles and stakes. Very easy to setup. The side rooms being 5' X 8' are large enough to accomodate two adults and the kids love having a room to themselves. Still enough room in the main area for all the gear and two people to change clothes comfortably. Great product... highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Tent
This tent is our second tent. It's great for kids and an easy setup. However people, if you purchased this tent at Target you payed too much. I purchased this same tent at Sports Authotity this past July for $99.98. I was planning on purchasing a tent at Target but they would not honor my raincheck. I did look at this Coleman tent at Target but went down the street and checked out Sports Authority. It was a good walk and saved me $50.00.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BUY
I wouldn't use any other tent for family camping, its durable and can withstand the elements. It also includes a Coleman 5 year warranty.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent choice
This is the first tent I have purchased and I am extremely pleased with my choice. We had the tent set up in our back yard for a couple days and it rained a little - no leaking, but the true test was on the first night of our trip when it stormed - the other 2 people we were camping with had to come into our tent because theirs was leaking horribly. Not a drop in our tent and I didn't do any sealing before we left. The only thing that is kind of deceiving is the possibility of putting 8 people in the tent - yeah it's possible but only if that's the only thing in the tent! I especially like the outside access ports - it was great for bringing an extension cord into the tent and not letting anything else in. The rainfly is excellent and the tent is even better without it - the open screen area underneath the rainfly lets air in and is nice. The windows on the doors are a little small, but that's ok. Other than that, if you are looking for a family tent (or even a spacious 2-person tent) - this would definately be an excellent choice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Coleman 8 person 13' x 13' tent
We used this tent this weekend to camp at a race track. It worked wonderfully! It was actually significantly warm inside the tent in the morning (60 degrees outside that morning) and the vents were great to let cool breezes inside. We stayed dry from the morning dew, but had no rain to test on our new tent yet. We did not even waterproof it. It was easy to set up, but we did have to look at the picture on the box when we put on the overhead cover so the morning dew wouldn't get in, the next morning. It has many storage pockets, and the toggles are great, even for hanging a flashlight in the top of the middle dome. Toggles are great to be used as a "tie" around a hook on our flashlight. Even though we had more than enough room, I will never go back to a smaller tent. We had enough room for our cooler inside, even though there are 2 vents to reach outside to easily access the cooler. I would recommend this tent to everyone, I would buy it again, and honestly, I just bought this same tent for my sister as her wedding present! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars this is a must have!!!!
We bought this tent from Target and we are so pleased. It is super easy to put up, easy to take down, and it is very roomy..we have a two year old, a three year old and a four year old, and along with us, their is still room enough for two large chairs, three small ones and three side tables plus toys!!!!! We have used it when we go camping near the lake, and when it is very windy this screened tent holds up very well. We would buy another one in a heart beat.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as Pictured
I mainly bought this item based on the picture on the website and the brief desciption included below it. It led me to believe that there were no attached screen walls and would be appropriate for the beach. This was not the case. I did not assemble it, but could see that there were indeed stiched in screen walls and seemed to be a floor as well. This would not be an appropriate tent for a sun shelter at the beach, but would be appropriate for a screened in cover. Quality seemed to be good, but website information was misleading. I was disappointed that I have to pay return shipping since apparently it was "my mistake". ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not for 4 people and gear
This tent is advertised as being able to sleep 4 people.......true, but not if they each have a pillow, duffle bag, etc. This tent sleeps two adults comfortably. There is room for a queen size air matress in the middle and room for a duffle bag each on the sides. There is also room for a small cooler, lantern and radio. That is about it. And if you do use the air matress don't plan on being able to stand up because the only head room is right in the center (as in most tents I suppose). Ours has held up in some pretty heavy rain. The only water that got in was from us having to come in and out. It would be nice if the rain fly were a big larger in the front to protect against this. But if you are looking for a good starter tent that won't break the camping budget this tent is great. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of Space
Many screened in tents only leave you room for just the picnic table. Not so with this one! We had room for extra lawn chairs, coolers, games, etc. One of the only drawbacks is set up and take down. You really need at least 4 people or it becomes a burden. The stakes are metal with plastic tops (not very sturdy) so I will be buying better stakes for next year. Overall, I am VERY satisfied with this purchase and I am glad I spent the extra for a much bigger tent.

3-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Space, but poor stake down ability
I also just purchased this Eddie Bauer hexagonal Screen Gazebo. I was very impressed with the overall space it provided. It was very easy to put up with little effort. My major concern is that this Gazebo is not designed, nor does it come with stakes. Also the poles are not sturdy enough to keep the Gazebo up in windy situations. I went camping with it and we experienced some minor storms. The Gazebo did a great job keeping the rain out! While taking the Gazebo down, I noticed one of the top poles was actually fractured! The Gazebo still stood with this "problem". Thus I am happy the Gazebo did not collapse during the minor rain storms, yet shows the poles are very easily broken. Overall I love this Gazebo as many strenghts, yet I am upset at the lack of quality in the poles.

4-0 out of 5 stars We liked it
After briefly reading the instructions in the dark... the set up went well. But you can read it and set it up in daylight if you wish.<br /> We used it as our sukkah(temporary dwelling) for celebrating God's festival of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) and really enjoyed it. It is very roomy and airy even with all the doors zipped up. The plastic tips on the stakes leave a lot to be desired. This shelter cannot take moderately high winds. The poles do give and the stakes don't stay planted. Perhaps better stakes would help. Overall we're very pleased with it.

3-0 out of 5 stars 1.5 summers product life time
We bought the tent last summer for the back yard and used it all summer long. Did set it up this year and had wind gusts, which it did not withstand - 2 of the dome tent poles fractured and are now unusable. Eddie Bauer sent us to American Recreational Products for spare parts. The manufacturer is actually Wenzel, whom one needs to call for spare parts. We have not called yet, but will share our experience soon. We definetely do agree that the poles could need improvement. Overall, it is an esthetically nice looking tent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for shade
We called Eddie Bauer & complained about not having any stakes & they sent us some. The tent has withstood many storms without budging all summer. Give them a call for the stakes!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC TENT FOR FAMILIES
I'M A REGULAR CAMPER (30 YEARS AND MORE) AND WE BOUGHT THIS TENT LAST YEAR FOR THE FAMILY. IT WORKS GREAT...WE HAVE 4 KIDS AND ITS BIG ENOUGH FOR ALL OF US WITH SOME ROOM TO SPARE. WE PUT AIR MATTRESSES IN EACH OF THE SIDE ROOMS AND THE KIDS DOUBLE UP 2 TO A SIDE. WE PUT A SLEEPING BAG INSIDE - UP ON THE FLOOR IN THE MIDDLE ROOM LIKE A CARPET (IN CASE SOMEONE CRAWLS OUT OF THE SLEEPING BAG DURING THE NIGHT). YES, IF IT RAINS YOU GET SOME WATER, BUT ONLY WHERE SOMETHING TOUCHES THE SIDES - THAT'S TYPICAL ON ANY TENT. OUR ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THE ZIPPERS..THEY RUN TOP TO BOTTOM,THEY SHOULD GO BOTTOM TO TOP . THE SET UP IS NOT THAT COMPLICATED - IT DOES GET EASIER WHEN YOU'VE DONE IT A FEW TIMES.SO IS THE PACKING UP. WE CAMP SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL - WE'RE ON OUR SECOND SEASON WITH IT AND SO FAR VERY HAPPY. ITS A GREAT TENT. A LITTLE PRICY - BUT WORTH IT.

2-0 out of 5 stars Soaked in Big Sur!
I have purchased many Eddie Bauer products in the past and I have been pleased until now. I am very disappointed with this product and will never stray from Coleman again. Some of the reasons I picked this item was because of the price and features, such as the gear lofts. However after putting just one item within it, it broke. The zippers, mainly on the front door were continously getting stuck in several spots all the way around which was pretty aggravating. Although the forecast for our camping weekend was supposed to be dry until after we left we did put on the rain flaps just in case, but to no avail because it suddenly started raining and did so for the next eight hours straight and it leaked like a siv almost the entire time! There wasn't one dry spot to be found inside this tent just four hours into the rain. It made for a cold, wet and miserable camping trip. Another very important point, and just to note that this was not an isolated incident, is that we were camping with three families between two campsites and one of the families had a tent identical to ours as well as using it for the first time, they experinced IDENTICAL problems! They threw theirs out the next day, I just wish I could get my money back.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dependable Tent!
This tent did the trick! We took a couple of trips this summer and the tent is easy to set-up, and did not leak in (light) rain. I'm not a die-hard camper, so I wouldn't know how this tent compares to more expensive ones. With all of our gear, it fit 2 adults and 2 kids pretty comfortably--any more gear or people would have been too crowded. Good value for the $.

4-0 out of 5 stars Strudy Tent
An incredibly sturdy tent! The first time we used this tent, it survived a severe thunderstorm and tornado. Where other tents could have blown over or the have the poles bent, this tent stayed intact throughout an entire night of violent storms. The only drawback was that the seams leaked a little from the horizontal rain, but during a lighter rain, it kept us dry. This tent is easy to put together and roomy, we slept 3 adults plus all our provisions. The tent gets great ventilation and has lots of storage space. It is a great deal for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Times, Great Tent
My husband bought this tent for our first camping trip. While he started the fire, I set up the tent. It was soo easy. It is large enough for three adults, but two adults and a kiddo allows for breathing room. It was well worth our money and I am looking forward to future trips. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Camper from DC
We tried this tent last weekend, and we were pleasantly surprised. The set up was a litlle complicated, it has three poles and you defenetly need two people to do it. But once that's done, the tent is very spacious and comfortable. The first day rained hard for a couple of hours, and even though I hadn't used any sealant, we didn't get a simple drop of water inside. The only thing... the doors (2) only have a small mesh window, so if you want to stay inside, you won't be able to see the ouside unless you stand up. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Crappy tent
As the other gentleman said, if you get this tent into rain you will get wet. We used it for a 5 day camping trip and on the last night it rained, and at the bottom of the door water was streaming in at a nice trickle. Do not buy this tent or any tent that doesn't have an adequate rain fly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good tent for the price
This tent did the job just fine for me. I'm an occasional camper (not hard-core) and found this tent: easy to set-up & take down, moisture resistant (although I haven't been in a hard rain), and big enough for 4. I recommend it.

1-0 out of 5 stars It leaks
I purchased one of these and the first time it drizzled I had water pouring in the seams at the bottom of the windows. We (my two sons and I) had to flee to the truck to keep from sleeping in a puddle. The tent then blew away, in spite of all 10 stakes being buried to the hilt, and the rain fly was punctured abraded and torn. None of the other members of our group had any problem with the wind, which was not that strong. I have subsequently borrowed a Coleman brand tent, and am seriously considering purchasing one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Roomy
Loads of room and very comfortable. Can easily accommodate 6 adults - perfect for long weekend fishing trips. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as advertised!
I have ordered and returned this tent twice now. As advertised, it's a great deal for a 10'x8' tent. Unfortunately, both tents I've received have been only 7'x7'. I opened the tent up and (more or less) assembled it in my living room and it looks great. Even at only 7'x7' it does seem plenty spacious for two plus gear, so I'll probably resign myself to keeping the smaller model. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Indoor swimming
We purchased this tent because of its size & the Bauer name.We do alot of car camping now and wanted a roomier tent than our backpacking tent.We set the tent up for the 1st time in a relatively short time & waterproofed the seams. That evening it began to drizzle and the drizzle turned into all night rain.Prior to turning in for the evening I noticed water coming in around the zippers so I moved the mechanisms higher up on the doors and window. In the morning water had pooled on the floor and anything touching, or on the floor, was soaked. If you like indoor swimming, this is the tent for you.The floor seams leak,as do the zippers.Probably a nice tent if rain is not in the forecast.Ours is going back to Target.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good "beginner" tent
I bought this tent at last year's Target sale. I recently ran across several negative reviews, but my experience has been quite favorable.

Many reviewers complained of leaks. It has been my experience that virtually all tents leak, and this one is no different. To minimize this, I use a waterproof tarp as a groundcloth (cheap and lightweight, and packs up with the tent). More importantly, I do not rely on the rainfly, because in some areas it leaves the bottom third of the tent exposed to rain. I add a plastic painter's 12x10 drip-cloth (also cheap and very lightweight), using the rain fly to help hold it in place. This covers up the exposed areas. Lastly, I used a spray can of "outdoor fabric" water repellant on the external bottom half of the tent. (And it works great on trail shoes too!)

Although advertised as a 6-person tent, it can only accomodate 4 at the most. I do like the fact I can stand upright inside (I'm 6'-1"). But the added height adds weight, and this definitely exceeds what I enjoy carrying around.

Seasoned campers will want a lighter tent. I bought this "starter" tent to introduce my kids to camping. It's big, and low cost. And so far, so good. We are all having fun ...and keeping dry!

2-0 out of 5 stars get better elsewhere
We purchased this tent from the store and went caming the first year with only the cheap tent steaks breaking when pu in the ground. However, this year we were totally soaked when the rain came in via the zippers. The bottom managed to stay dry and the top. But it was seriously poured in the zippers. If you purchase this tent buy an additional tarp for the rain fly on this tent is not big enough. That would alleviate andy issues that may occur. Also it sleeps 2 adults and 2 small kids! Buyer beware!

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS TENT!!!
I am a relatively experienced tenter, and bought the tent for the Eddie Bauer namebrand. I will never buy an Eddie Bauer outdoor product again! My family and I used this tent once, and it leaked like a sieve in a steady, light rain. My wife noted pinholes in the nylon, but the real problem is a design issue. The seam where the floor and walls come together is at the bottom of the tent. When it rains, water sits right on this seam and runs directly into a tent. I've noticed that on other tents, this seam is about 6 inches above the ground; the floor wraps 6 inches up the sides of the tent, thus water can never lay on top of this seam. I went out in the rainstorm to try to tighten the tent somehow so that the floor/wall junction would not be lying flat, but I could not tighten it enough. A miserable night of camping with my wife, a 4-year old, and a 6-month old! And it is a huge run-around trying to get the company that acutally makes the tent (American Recreation Products) to do anything about it; Eddie Bauer and Target were both sympathetic but claimed that they couldn't do anything about it...

1-0 out of 5 stars No Good
I sometimes rely on the reviews to get an idea of how a product will preform, so I am passing on my experience. I have only used this tent on three camping trips. The first two times something broke during set up and it was not until the third time that it rained and we learned that this is not a tent we will use again! It was a good thing it did not begin raining until about 2 hours before we packed up. But in that two hours the rain water soaked our tent and just about everything in it. It was obvious that the rain was leaking in through the zippers. I will never buy another Eddie Bauer camping product again. ... Read more
