1-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous
This grill was difficult to light, would not stay lit when the least bit windy, and needed to be run at high or near to high. Consequently, when grilling some chicken, the entire grill caught fire. The handle on the far side from the gas bottle started initially and then the paint on the body burned. Flames shot up two feet. I was able to disconnect the gas before the burning paint reached that side. Needless to say I was terribly concerned.

2-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for
I bought one of these to use for car camping. It's OK for hotdogs and (thin) burgers, but forget about pork chops or chicken. It either wouldn't stay lit or wouldn't get hot enough if the wind was blowing a little.

I replaced it with the Weber Q and couldn't be happier.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Little Portable Cooker
I own this grill and it is very portable and very

inexpensive, great for cooking for up to 15 people.

Very light, cooks steaks and chicken in no time flat.

The legs flip on to secure the lid for easy carrying.

A great grill at a fantastic price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Portable fire is a great thing!
I received this grill in the mail...promptly. Although it was a little flimsier than I'd like, it is still a great grill. The ease of setup and the cooking ability that you get are worth WAY more than the price. NO MORE LAVA ROCKS!!!

Do yourself a favor...buy either this one or the Weber portable. But look at it this way, for the price of the Weber, you could buy TWO of these!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Best camping grill for the price!
We do a lot of "camping" at stock car racing events, and for years have used a worn-out cast iron hibachi to grill the burgers and dogs. While burning charcoal on the old hibachi always succeeded in getting us fed, it was long overdue for replacement.

We decided to upgrade to a portable gas grill, and this is the model we bought. It has truly been night and day from the hibachi!

Just the fact that it has a lid was a huge improvement! And what a concept to not have to wait for the coals to burn down, only to fight to keep the fire consistent. The grilltop is not only larger than the hibachi's, but much more stable than the 2 "paddle" style tops the hibachi used.

Overall, I am very pleased that we replaced the hibachi with this grill - for the price, it can't be beat as a portable grill! ... Read more

5 stars is yes!
this toy is one of the best my mom have ever bought me thanks!

Birthday Present
I got my trampoline for my 12th birthday and I was really excited. Though, as soon as I jumped on it, it wasn't bouncy at all! I am not very happy with this trampoline, and i don't reccomend that you buy it!

Don't wait....buy it!!
My granddaughter spent the first 8 years of her life without a trampoline because her parents were afraid she would "hurt herself" if she had one. I bought this one for her and my 4 year old grandson for several reasons...it was not high off the ground (thus taking away the fear of injury); they can move it around by themselves; it was recommended by a friend; and the price. The kids were thrilled and have used it daily. It's great exercise...the other children in the neighborhood love to play on it....it teaches them to take turns (there's not enough room on it for more than 3 small kids at a time). It's just a lot of fun for them.

Durability has been great, just the right size - not big and bulky.

Is it my tampoline or is it just THIS trampoline?
I bought this exact one maybe a year ago. About 2 months later it just collapses. Set up is not the onlt thing that is hard, actully trying to get a high jump is VERY difficult. This is a little kids toy but most little kids don't just like baby bounces do they? I would not recommend this trampoline to ANYBODY!

Best backyard toy ever!
We have a slightly sloped yard so I was hesitant about getting a trampoline. We tried it, and it works fine! My kids love it! Of course, like any other toy, they take it in spells but it still gets used alot after 6 months. I was also concerned at first about them falling off of it. I almost bought the enclosure to go with it but I decided to wait and see how high they jumped, etc. This trampoline is so small, they really can't get a lot of "air" so they don't do flips and other dangerous tricks. It's also very low to the ground. I am glad now that I didn't get the enclosure. We don't really need it. I would recommend this trampoline for younger kids. The weight limit is 120 lbs so it can't support larger kids. Also, since it is so small, we only let our two preschoolers jump together. When we have guests over, it's one at a time. I love it that my kids want to be outside so much. This is better money spent than on video games, in my opinion! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Basically a re-tooled Big-Wheel, the Scream Machine has flash, speed, and maneuverability, but with the control and stability younger kids need. It has two fat, plastic rear wheels for maximum skid. The front, though, features a large traction tire that must be inflated. The tire is rubber because of the Scream Machine’s V-type brakes, which are operated from BMX-style, gripped handle bars. These brakes makes it much safer--especially on downhill runs--than bikes with the foot brakes. Leg room is adjusted by slidingthe bucket seat forward or back. The shiny frame, with shocks, is made of high-tensile steel that won’t rust or wear out after the first year. It has to be completely assembled by adults, however. To that end, a detailed instruction book and tools, including a wrench and Allen screwdriver, are included. --Diane Beall ... Read more

Replacement Parts
We are having a great deal of trouble with Razor. They have an affiliate company who handles shipping and company questions. My son's replacement rear tires are on back order, with no indication on when delivery will take place. I think I'm about ready to take him to Toys R Us to get a "Green Machine", since this company doesn't seem to be bothered with keeping 6 year old children hostage to their apparant problem with inventory.

A hit in the neighborhood!
Not since the Little Tikes Rocket (which from what I can tell they no loner make- a shame!)has there been a toy that has gripped all of our neighborhood kids. We live on a dead end cul-de-sac that has a slight incline that is perfect to get some speed for this kind of toy and everyone is loving it. I bought this for my 8 & 10 year old boys to give them something to do besides sit in front of Gamecube all spring break. Our neighborhood has had a lot of fancy and expensive "ride on" type toys - some electric. I feel kids have enough sit-on-your-butt-and-do-nothing toys and activities so I have refused (much to their dismay) to but electric ride-ons. However, as I said earlier, when they were younger they had a blue jet made by Little Tikes that had similar features as this kind of ride-on that they out grew a few years ago. The idea of this toy reminded me of that jet so that is why I bought it. I thought it would be a hit with my boys and it was. It is the toy everyone in the neighborhood waits in line to use!

Fun, fun, fun
Santa brought this one and we had to adjust the seat up to the closest position for a normal 6 year old. It took him 2 days to figure out how to spin it but then what fun. He doesn't use the brake though. Easy to put together. Tubeless tire so it was a little difficult to inflate. Lots of play value left in this one for years to come.

need to readjust age range
We purchased the razor scream machine for christmas. We adjusted the seat to the closest hole and my 5 year old son still can't reach. He is the same size as most of the other children in his age group. I know he'd love it if he could reach. So I have been trying to locate the scream machine jr.. He just turned 5, so maybe in a few months he'll beable to reach. We were all disappointed he couldn't ride it.

Pinches Fingers
We bought this toy for our 5 year old son. He is very tall so the seat is perfect at the furthest setting. The 2 problems that we have had are 1) the back wheels are already torn up after only riding around the block on sidewalks twice and 2) He has already twice turned around to tell me something and ran over his hand with the back wheel which left pretty big cuts on his fingers. He loves riding this but it is one problem that deserves mention. ... Read more

Portable charcoal grills are great for taking the picnic on the road, but they can make it difficult to cook for more than two or three people at once. If you're looking for a mobile grill that allows you to sizzle enough burgers for the entire family without them having to eat in shifts, Weber's Smokey Joe Platinum charcoal grill may be just what your cookout needs. This handy grill is the big sibling of Weber's popular Smokey Joe Gold grill and sports an 18-1/2-inch cooking grate--large enough for a moderate feast.

Like the Smokey Joe Gold, the Silver features a lid lock that makes the grill much easier to carry without messy spills and can also be used to support the lid and create a shield against the wind. The grill unit and lid are porcelain-enameled to prevent rust and fading, and the cooking grate is triple-nickel-plated to prevent corrosion and facilitate easier cleaning. 5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the best
I purchased an original Smoky Joe back in 1984. With the exception of replacing the grate, it still looks brand new. My in-laws gave us a gas grill and after trying really hard to like it, we ended up back to charcoal in less than one season. I'm so impressed with the product, I bought a 2nd one to keep out at my hangar and planning on purchasing a Weber Performer for those times when size matters. You can't beat the product for durability and taste.

5-0 out of 5 stars Stop looking for a grill, buy this one.
This is the best tabletop grill you can buy. Having an apartment where space is limited, I wanted a tabletop grill for small parties and the 18.5 inch grill was the perfect size. Also, it packs up neatly to transport on outdoor adventures. This grill will easily handle several burgers or kabobs at a time. It is so easy to use and the included guide makes it even easier with clear instructions and even a cookbook of simple recipes to try on your own. Get this grill.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Charcoal Grill
I've had a Jumbo Joe (now called Smokey Joe Platinum)for about 10 years. Its seen heavy use and its always been stored outside. It ought to be a basket case by now, but I have yet to replace any part of it, though the grates are rusty. In contrast with the previous review, I find the little Joes too small for two people. This model will easily handle a roaster and sides, plus it fits in my trunk with the lid upside down. I'd buy one again in a minute.

4-0 out of 5 stars Weber Jumbo Joe
The Weber Jumbo Joe is a very good charcoal grill. It is well built, has some nice features and cooks delicious food. I really like the "lid lock and handle" feature. It makes it easy to bring the grill with you to tailgate or to just pack it up to put away after use. My only word of caution is that the grill is relatively large. It's meant for cooking more than just a couple of burgers. So, there is a sizable charcoal commitment every time you use it. So, if you typically feed four or less people, the 14.5 inch regular Smokey Joe Grill (or Tuck and Carry) may be a better choice. If you feed more than four on a regular basis, "Go for the Jumbo". You won't be disappointed! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Most coffee roasters and tea buyers recommend using a coffee or tea press to enjoy the beverages at their best, but the devices have typically offered one major disadvantage--the brewed coffee or tea cooled quickly within the glass carafe. The Bodum Columbia thermal press overcomes this shortcoming with its double-walled stainless-steel construction, which insulates hot coffee or tea to keep it warm for up to two hours. The end result is a rich, flavorful beverage with perfectly extracted flavors and aromas.

To use the Columbia press for coffee, grind fresh beans to a coarse consistency, add 2 tablespoons of coffee for every 6 ounces of water, then add hot water and brew for four to five minutes before plunging the press. Tea brews in the same manner, but with whole tea leaves instead. The press holds up to 48 ounces of liquid--enough for 12 small cups of coffee (4 ounces each)--and features Bodum's patented safety lid to keep the contents from spilling. For best results, users should dedicate the press to brewing one beverage only, as coffee and tea flavors tend to cross over when brewed separately in the same vessel. The Columbia coffee and tea press is dishwasher-safe. --Rivers Janssen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Haven't Had A REAL CUP OF JOE or TEA Until You Have A Press!
This product, along with my Bodum Assam tea press are the BEST purchases that I have made to date from Amazon. This thermal double-walled stainless-steel coffee & tea press insulates hot coffee or tea to keep it warm for up to two hours. The top part of the stainless steel filter has a closed position to keep the heat in & a strainer position when you need to pour. The end result is something that you can't get from an automatic, vacuum, drip, percolator, or tea bags. You get, instead, a rich, full, smooth, flavorful cup of joe or tea with perfectly extracted flavors and aromas. Since there isn't a paper filter to soak up the rich oils in coffee beans, the oils stay in the coffee where they rightfully belong.

The best practices for this press are the following: For a fine cup o' joe, grind fresh beans to a coarse consistency, add 2 to 2 1/2 tablespoons of coffee for every 6 ounces of water, add boiling hot water and let the grounds brew for about four to six minutes, depending on how strong you like your coffee before hitting the plunger on top to stop the brewing method.

Tea brews in basically the same manner, but add 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of loose tea leaves for every 6 ounces of water, add boiling hot water for black & oolong teas and almost boiling (170 degrees) for green, herbal and white teas, let the grounds brew for about four to seven minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea, too much longer and you will get a bitter cup of tea, press the plunger and voila... a lovely spot o' tea!

I highly recommend this product! It is crafted of the best quality, is esthetically pleasing to look at & use and will last a lifetime!

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm hooked!
I bought my Bodum coffee press before Christmas and quickly became "hooked" on the great flavor of the pressed coffee. The pot is very sturdy and cleans up great. I use it every day now.

I would definitely suggest this pot to any coffee lover.

5-0 out of 5 stars nice design, great for guests
I own both the 8- and 12-cup presses, and recommend them highly. They're durable, easy to clean, heat-retentive and easy to use when serving. A few hints: do follow the mfg.'s suggestion and use each vessel either for coffee or tea, so there's no transfer of coffee oils to your other brews. Also, it helps to retain heat if you keep the lid turned so that the spout is closed between servings. I also find that a spritz of vinegar before a thorough washing keeps you quality coffee/tea tasting its best. Having tried all sorts of other steeping devices, I can say that this Bodum is a winner, and worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
I have tried several types of brewing methods (drip & vacuum), but this coffee press is my absolute favorite. I am able to make hot and robust coffee. Since you control the brew time, water temperature, coarseness of the grounds, & amount of water, you can make your coffee to suit your tastes.

It took me a few pots to tinker with the variables mentioned above, but it was well worth it. It is a little more trouble than a drip machine, but I got much smoother yet richer coffee with this method.

The pot is sleek and easy to clean. It does a decent job of keeping coffee hot, although a lot of heat seems to escape through the top once you press the coffee grounds down. Also, it makes 12 FOUR ounce cups. Most drip machines are measured in SIX ounce cups, so choose your pot size with care. Occassionally a tiny amount of grounds get through the filter (common with this brew method), but for the most part I have been happy with the filter.

I would definitely purchase this product again! ... Read more

Don't confine the pleasure of pressed coffee to home. With this combination of coffee press and vacuum-insulated thermos, European-style coffee turns up at the office or campground and stays hot three times longer than coffee made in a glass press. Simply spoon in ground coffee, add boiling water, place the lid on with plunger in the up position, wait four minutes, push down the plunger slowly, and . . . Presto! Fresh, piping-hot coffee for two or three hours. Lightweight and virtually unbreakable, the press has a handsome, satin-finish exterior and tough, nonslip, black plastic top and bottom. 5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for good coffee
I bought this coffee press about two years ago and I love it. Makes a great cup of coffee. Easy to clean, usually I hand wash it but about once a week I toss it in the dishwasher. (They say to hand wash it only, but it seems to do fine in the dishwasher.)

I find that it keeps coffee warm enough for a couple of hours. Maybe not as fun as the see-through glass coffee presses but I like the extra insulation.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's actually a great TEA press and teapot
It may have its faults as a coffee press, as other reviews have said. Too many grounds escape and doesn't keep it hot for more than 2-3 hours. However, if you're a tea-drinker who would like to use or already uses loose tea, it works really well as a tea press and teapot. The mesh filter is well-enough fitted to prevent all but a very few leaves from escaping. And it will certainly keep your tea hot much longer than a ceramic teapot with blanket or cozy. As far as I have been able to find out, this product is really the only french press that is thermal/insulated. There are insulated glass-lined plastic teapot-shaped carafes, and there are one or two non-insulated french presses made specifically for tea and made of single-wall glass. But there seems to be nothing else out there that combines insulation with the french press.

The manufacturer could improve this item by making the lid more insulating and snug-fitting. But even as it is, it makes using loose tea very convenient, and keeps it hot a lot longer than the available alternatives.

4-0 out of 5 stars not superlative, but thermally insulated is the way to go
Short answer: Pretty good, nor perfect, but recommended.

Screen does not appear (to my amateur eyes) to fit the walls as smoothly as a bodum glass model I saw, i.e. there are small indentations in my screen that may or may not merely be cosmetic, but then again mine arrived dented as was probably abused be a previous jerk who returned it (and then they re-sent it out to me -- why, I dunno.) Anyway, it doesn't seem to affect the coffee, but I'm a novice (as if it matters).

I think an uninsulated one would be a real pain. This keeps it hot for a 30 minutes to a few hours (with the time varying mainly on how much coffee you leave in it). A glass one would lose heat rapidly by comparison so if you drink a pot over an hour or so like me you'll really want this or bodum's similar offering.

5-0 out of 5 stars Replacement French press screen
I have this pot for years and Bodum makes replacement screens that will fit this pot. Shame that they make the screen for their product as well as Nissan and they clearly state that it will fit the Nissan...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great press; but no more screens
We have had this press for over a year and use it almost every day. It keeps the coffee hot long enough (we drink it before it has a chance to get cold anyway!), plus it just makes excellent tasting coffee. We do take issue with the manufacturer, however, as I just called them (11/3/03) and they said they no longer make the replacement screens--and that they are the only ones who made them. Yet they will replace the whole pot if you need a new screen. Does this make any sense? ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Elderly enough to merit the name Victoria
My old one from the early 1950s is stamped Victoria as this company did back then, and a few of the blades are different, but it has survived much use. The plastic sides have long since decomposed and been replaced with handmade light alloy. The only thing that's been cheapened since then is apparently the liners. They were once white brass, but all have been aluminum for decades now. There is no better pocketknife made, in my opinion.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the large Swiss Army knives
This knife is my favorite of all the Victorinox army knives. It has the most useful tools, basic blades, the corkscrew, the sizzors, the awl (with hole for sewing). You can get the little eye glass screw driver and stow it in the corkscrew. The other larger knives IMO are too bulky and have tools which really aren't up to any major hard work. Pruning knives for trees, fish scalers, magnifiing glasses etc. for instance. So if you are going swiss army this is the best of the bunch. Price/size/utility, its a good deal.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Useful Tool
I recieved this knife as a gift from my friend. Just from the feeling of it, I could tell that this was a high quality knife. It's made of high quality metal and was made very well. It comes with a lot of useful tools such as a screw driver, bottle opener, toothpick, tweezers, and more. I like to take it with me because it makes travelling more convenient. The only thing I don't like about this knife is that it is rather hard to clean. Overall though a good product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best quality, most useful, little knife in the world
I've had this model of the Victorinox Swiss Army knife for over 30 years now. With a little occassional whetting and oiling it is as fine as the day I got it. It has everything you will ever really need, in a package so small that you'll forget that you even have it in your pocket.
The two knife blades are first quality and take an edge so sharp that you could operate with them. The saw blade never seems to need sharpening and will rip through a surprisingly large branch. My can opener still opens cans smoothly with no maintainance- and it has opened hundreds. The cork screw is the only one I've ever owned- or needed. The tweezers have removed more splinters than I care to count. The leather punch is my first choice for adjusting a belt or pack strap. And I've adjusted any number of mechanisms in the field using the screw driver blades- and that little nylon tooth pick.

My only question is this: what the heck are the little bitty scissors for?

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Knife!
This is my favorite swiss army knife because it has everything you need without the weight. Its perfect to keep in your pocket or put in the glove box of your car. The only negative thing I can say about this knife is that there are no locking blades. Besides that, its a perfect buy. Nothing will rust, and the metal used is very high stainless quality. You cant wash swiss army knives in the dishwasher anymore because they dont use the same glue to bind the plastic to the metal, if you do the plastic will pop off. I suggest running the knife under cold water. Compared to any leatherman knife this is a better buy. I own the wave, and honestly this is a higher quality knife, theres no way it will fall apart! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny
As a 10 year aircraft maintainer in the US Air Force, I've used everything from standard Mag-lites, scuba divers' lights, and even penlights in a pinch. I can say this flashlight is brighter than any other I've used. It cuts my inspection time in half because I can see things 55 feet off the ground just like it was right in front of me. Don't be fooled to think a rechargeable battery pack isn't as strong as standard alkaline batteries. This isn't the case. I wouldn't trade this flashlight for anything!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mag Lite is good for general purpose
Having read the other reviews, I decided to add one myself:

Many police departments standard issue Mag Lite products. The 2,3..etc D sized flashlights make reliable flashlights and their weight can also make them useful as a baton in a pinch. I have several different Mag Lights (the mini's, the 2, and a 5 D monster). They always work, the beam is generally good, and for the money, they are a good value. They are NOT the best flashlight ever made... but for 20-30-40 bucks, they are a great flashlight for about 99% of what people need flashlights for...

If you REALLY need alot of quick light - i.e., you are planning to rely on this light for a tactical or self-defense situation, then I wouldn't buy a Mag Lite... ASP, Surefire (my favorite), Inova, etc., make much better flashlights for that situation. A Surefire C2 or Z2 model is about the size of a Mini-Mag but delivers about 5 times the light of the largest Mag LIte product... all without a focusable beam. The technology of SureFire is unparallelled, in my opine, but I think it is akin to comparing a Ferarri to a Ford... yeah, they're both cars, but that's about as far as the comparison should go... Also, most high-performance flashlights run for about an hour or so... Mag's will run longer. Also, you can go to any HD or hardware store and buy mags, batteries, lamps, etc.... try doing that with a SureFire... NOT. So there are comparative advantages and disadvantages to both...

Mag's products are good... but you get what you pay for and not every flashlight is suitable for every application. If you are a LE officer, military, etc., it's unlikely you will want Mag Lite as the product you're going to trust your life to.... they just are not bright enough to stun someone in a life and death situation... If you want a decent reliable flashlight for home emergency use, then Mag LIte is the best product you can possibly buy.

...I own both for different reasons... I just wish I owned a Ford and a Ferarri too!

4-0 out of 5 stars Becoming a dinosaur
There is a lot going on within the technology of flashlights recently. LED, Lithium batteries, focus bezels, etc. The Mag Instrument RX1019 Heavy-Duty Rechargeable Flashlight System is an OK rechargeable flashlight. But the technology today (ie from SureFire and others) has Mag Lights falling behind a bit technologically. For example, weight and size. IF you are in law enforcement and need and depend on escalating use of force (ie loud assured voice, large heavy flashlight, side arm, shot gun), MOST other situations only criteria for a good flashlight is how much light it puts out and the quality (no dead spots, etc) of that light. AND in the smallest, lightest package. This is where (IN GENERAL) MagLite has dropped off.
I must say (before I get a bunch of negative votes) that I have owned 20 or 30 Mags over my working career. And the product is very durable and they are proven reliable. But for the money, I've found that Surefire offers a more powerful beam of light. Surefire is lighter too.
I've had to depend on my MagLight many times but I've switched to SureFire. It's the 21st Century.

5-0 out of 5 stars Light up your life!
This light is awesome! With 40,000 candlewatt power it will light up your entire room in your house when the power goes out-which we here in Raleigh have experienced a lot in the past few years. With 1000 recharges possible it pays for itself over and over. Can't go wrong with this one!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent.......but..........
The flashlight is brilliant, literally. Once it's charged for the first time it's unreal. And for occasional or rare usage it is extremely practical. But, if you use it for several hours a day, you may find that it takes too long to get a full charge back into the battery. In fact, the only chance you can get it to fully charge is over the weekend. Two batteries? How can you charge the spare battery pack when it has to be in the flashlight (which has to be in the charger) to recharge? Mag Instruments are apparently working on the problem, but to this date they do not have a rapid charger, or a charging cradle for a battery pack only. You could of course buy 2 flashlights and use them on alternate days. Rather expensive though. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor performer underwater/ NOT shock resistant
I bought one of these lights to work underwater and the seals failed filling the battery compartment with water. Streamlight replaced it, but when dropped from 4 feet to a carpeted floor it failed..replacement LED is 37.95 with shipping and replacement Streamlight 3C LED can be had for $39.00 so...I am tossing the Streamlight 3C LED in trash can and taking the loss...Sorry, but this item is not reliable, durable, or dependable..such a surprise for a company with such a good rep

5-0 out of 5 stars Once you've had LED you'll never go back.
This thing puts out an amazing amount of light and the batteries last forever. I keep one in the trunk of every car I own (3).

3-0 out of 5 stars Streamlight 33202 LED 3C NOT Waterproof
Everything said about this flashlight is spot on except for the fact that after using underwater in less than 10 feet, the battery compartment leaked and the batteries turned to rusted mush. So much for the claims of being waterproof!!! Otherwise a really nice flashlight but not the rugged competitor it claims to be...
So far have not heard from the manufacturer about servicing the warranty...will let you know

3-0 out of 5 stars It grows on you
Very nice product for what it does, but it takes some getting used to. First the good. Appears very durable and has a nice feel to it when carrying. Excellent for inside a house, such as during a power outage. The white light is very diffuse and wide angle illuminating a large area or an entire room.

Now for the not-so-good. The on switch in at the end of unit - inconvenient. The LED light is very different from the traditional flashlights and may not be what you expect. The light is not focused. Used outdoors, the diffuse light will illuminate I found relatively good up to only about 30 feet. The beam cannot be focused from a diffuse pattern to a sharp compact beam. My mag light is definitely better for outdoors.

Overall, nice product but it serves a niche. Definitely not the only flashlight I would want - or need - to own.

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't Drop This Flashlight
Contrary to what a previous reviewer said about being able to throw it against a wall without breaking it, this flashlight did not survive a 2 foot fall from my young childs hand onto the street this Halloween evening.

It is broken and no longer working. I had it a week. Update 11/14/03-after several emails back and forth, the company did send a free replacement LED bulb unit. The flashlight works again. Only thing now is that they sent blue LED lights instead of the white ones I had originall purchased. I've raised the ranking one more star for their response, albeit flawed.

Be careful it is fragile despite it's looks. Don't be fooled by claims by other reviewers who have not put it through a simple test by a child dropping it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best thing I bought all year!
I live in an apartment and do a lot of tailgating. This is the BEST grill! I get compliments on it all of the time. No one can believe that it actually does what it claims! It has a big enough grill surface to cook for a party but it is small enough to pack up and take with you. It has become the main grill for home and travel. No one even offers to bring their portable anymore.

It heats up very quickly and nothing sticks to the surface. I have used the grill for steaks, burgers, chicken, and to saute mushrooms and onions. I have never used any sort of non-stick agent. It is wonderful!

It cleans up with just hot water in most cases! I love it so much that I am buying another one for my father for Father's Day!

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled and you'll be pleased
I love the Grill-2-Go. I use it every summer to cook in the Sierra Nevadas whilst waiting for the fireworks to start. The trays are stored on the inside of one of the legs. The legs fold neatly underneath. But, IT IS NOT AN OPEN FLAME GRILL. Sure, you'll lose some of the charcoal or propane aftertaste in your food. But you won't have to clean up the burned, oily bits that usually fall through a grill. The whole flame is covered by a teflon(?) griddle. It doesn't show in the picture very well, but on the side, there is a fat trap, or fat collector. The reason why the Grill-2-Go has a level, is so that the grease will flow 'downhill' into the fat trap. From things like hot dogs, which exude little fat, almost nothing flows to the trap. But for larger meaty items, steaks and so on, the fat trap works well. If your looking for something that is portable, easy to clean, and to be used in situations where you are 'roughing it' this grill is ideal.

4-0 out of 5 stars WE USE IT ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!
My husband bought this grill last summer. It has George-Foreman-type grilling plates inside..NO MORE MESSY GRILLS!! Oh, this grill makes grilling fun again! We just throw the heavy plates right into our dishwasher! No more scraping, grease fires, messy charcoal. I love it!

The orange portion of the grill (It has a briefcase style closure) pops off the black legs and you can take it camping, picnicing, or anyplace you can think of. It's lightweight and easy to carry or throw in your backseat or trunk.

However, I only gave this product four stars, because, while the grill is incredible, the black legs are made from hard plastic. They seem a bit "cheap" to me as compared to the grill itself. They are not flimsy, and I do need to say that while they may be plastic, you have to keep in mind the grill in whole doesn't weigh very much. So, It really doesn't matter much in the in the long run, unless you are very finicky.

This is a fantastic compact grill(the namebrand speaks for itself). Forget the mess of others. Just a note of advice: the grill has some black plastic grilling utensils in the box...if they are not to your liking, make sure you use ONLY plastic on the grilling plates. If you don't, the protective non-stick coating will be damaged. Happy Grilling!

5-0 out of 5 stars Camping Helper
We took the portable grill on a camping trip without having ever had a trial run. We had an old Coleman stove for a backu0 for a backup. This product was the hit of the trip. I had never cooked using gas before. I was not sure that the grill would stand up to repeated use because of the dertachabvle legs. We had no problem. We cooked breakfast and dinner. We had eggs and bacon one morning, and pancakes the next, using the griddle attachment. We grilled salmon, using the grilling plate for dinner. We had a lot of rain, and the others kept saying that my grill saved the day! The campers were six adults, ranging in age from 55 to 65.

We are going to capm for a few days this year also. They keep saying, be sure to bring your grill. It took up only a modest amount of space.

One problem. I am trying to buy additional grill and griddle plates. One of each comes with the grill and I want to have two of each. I cannot find how to do that online. I'll try the telephone number.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Litte Grill in Green Harbor
I love my grill. After reading the poor reviews, I was motivated to write a positive one. This is the easiest, most portable grill I have ever owned. From set up to cleaning, I cannot imagine what I did without it. The small propane canisters are a snap to attach. You don't have to lug huge tanks to be refilled anymore. The grill top comes off and can be carried to the kitchen sink to be washed off, or you can hose it down outdoors. This has made outdoor cooking far more pleasurable than it has been in years. A+ for my little red grill!!! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Garmin's eTrex Venture GPS receiver offers a host of track- and path-related programs and is surprisingly easy to use. Its size and design make it comfortable to use one-handed, and its automatic tracking feature and ability to download maps from optional CD-ROMs make it an excellent navigation tool.

Roughly the size and shape of a cell phone, the Venture has six buttons that are easily accessible by thumb and forefinger. The Power, Page, Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Find buttons are along the side, with the big-daddy navigation button (a directional click-button akin to a thumb-operated joystick) on the front above the screen. The side buttons are stiff enough that it's nearly impossible to accidentally push one. However, we found the navigation button to be a bit too stiff, which caused us several errors in entering waypoints.

Text was very easy to read--highlights are discernible and menu bars and clickable objects are well-defined. The unit also has an excellent backlight, which illuminates the whole screen with a white light, giving excellent contrast and viewing capability at night.

The Venture's interface is split into five different pages, each providing different functions. The main menu page gives you access to your saved routes and tracks, as well as setup for using WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation Service) reception, unit measurement, time, and display. These are all quickly rotated through with the click of the Page button on the right-hand side of the unit.

The map page displays the basemap included with the Venture, and for outdoor excursions it provides all the basics you'll need. It automatically tracks your movements and you can save individual tracks for later viewing. The map is zoomable from 500 miles to 20 feet depending on your preferences. You can place waypoints and places of interest on the map and name and change the icons of each to create your own personalized maps. If you decide you want to go somewhere, press the Find button and you'll get quick access to waypoints, your favorites list, and nearby cities.

The Venture features 1 MB of memory for downloading points-of-interest data--including lodging, business services, banks, and more--from optional CD-ROMs via the included PC cable. Unfortunately, for more detailed mapping you'll need to look to the Garmin eTrex Legend or Vista, both of which have larger memory capacities and the ability to download detailed maps.

Reception was, of course, best outside on a clear day, but the Venture retained most of its functionality under limited cover like small buildings or thick trees.

All in all, the Garmin eTrex Venture is a nifty little GPS tool and is ready to roll for your outdoor adventure. However, if you're looking to use more detailed map data with your GPS, the Garmin eTrex Vista or Legend would be a better choice. --Matt Deffer

Pros:

  • Intuitive interface
  • Clear, easy-to-read display
  • Create waypoints at key locations for easy navigation
  • Included PC cable for downloading firmware upgrades and maps
Cons:
  • 1 MB memory only accepts points-of-interest data

  • Global positioning system (GPS) receiver with database of world cities
  • 1 MB of internal memory for map and data storage; PC cable included

5-0 out of 5 stars Impressed!
I have been using a Garmin 195 GPS for flying for the past 4 years and have been really impressed. But when I acquired the Etrex Venture about a month ago (picked up used at Amazon at a great savings!)it is amazing the progress in electronics. When comparing the two units inside the house the Garmin 195 would never even get usable signal to navigate while the Venture would be ready to navigate in less than 30 seconds. The accuracy is incredible including the elevation readout which so far had been very consistent and I have been getting about 20 hours of battery life when in the "Battery Saver" mode which I am in 90 percent of the time. This is one of the easiest GPS to use, very "user friendly" and for people whose eyes are getting older the screen can be set up to show large numbers which is much appreciated even the backlight is bright! The unit works in every car I own with no problems, I wedge the unit in front of the speedometer on the Camry and Dodge pickup. It works on the front seat of a 90'Plymouth Acclaim. Make certain that you go to the Garmin website for the lastest software updates currently (2.29) the version I started out with was 2.20 vast improvements have been made to the unit. The new MapResource "points of interest" CD is a great addition to the versatility of the Venture adding cities, landmark and marine details that are not including in the original database. I thought that 1meg of memory would not be enough (do you ever have enough?)but found that it is sufficient for most needs. Living in the East bay of SF I have loaded the unit with all cities (most of northern and central california), businesses(which includes the address and phone number), landmarks and marine to cover from Richmond, ca to San Jose. I recommend Wolfe PC cable and 12 volt adapters with can be purchased on the net in lieu of the Garmin adapter cables. I highly recommend the Venture, however I would like the Etrex Vista but don't want to spend 3 times the price just for the moving map and 24meg of memory.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great tool for traveling, but not with much upgradability
I bought this as I planned to visit Switzerland for the summer and drive across the continental United States by myself. Overall, I think this is a great unit: it's one of the first affordable, reliable personal GPS in a nice package with good features. It has a nice interface that can help you navigate by aid of an artificial compass, quickly add waypoints for navigation, in addition to the usual features such as pan, zoom, etc. This unit is waterproof and floats in water, which is a plus if you're planning to take this to serious hiking trips.

Built into it is a (for me) fairly comprehensive map of major highways and roads in major cities in the U.S., and outlines of other parts of the world.

And this brings up the first negative about this unit: the map software CDs that allow you to upload the internal built-in map are prohibitively expensive.

The second negative is the lack of any computer accompaniment software. This translates to you having to purchase a shareware software if you want to plan your trips ahead of time on a computer.

The last negative is the lack of an external antenna option. While signal reception has been very good for a unit of its size, it would be great to be able to connect a larger antenna to improve connections.

If you're looking for a GPS unit and you're not a navigation buff, this is a great unit to buy. But the lack of upgrade options might be a turn-off for serious travelers and/or hiking/backpacking enthusiasts.

This review refers to the LEGEND model, not the VENTURE model.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome GPS
This product works freat. I use it very often for geocaching and always find my mark. With the addition of Mapsource software this is the piece of equipment to have!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Midrange GPS
I bought this model as an upgrade to Garmin Venture I had gotten in November 2002. I like it for the fact it has more detail than the Venture but the pnly thing that I am disatsfied about is that it needs CDs to upgrade the maps to street level detail. Nonetheless, I think its the best I ever had. Way-togo, Garmin! I use this mainly for geocaching. For more info on geocaching go to: www.geocaching.com. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Bushnell Yardage Pro Tour is a great tool!
I bought Bushnell Yardage Pro Tour unit through adorama.com on 5/17/2004 and it arrived with no problems. You get an email with order confirmation and when you log into your account there is a link to ups tracking number. I use it on the driving range with all my clubs. 4-0 out of 5 stars Ready Bed - Hello Kitty & Spiderman
Was a little skeptical when buying these beds because of several bad reviews but I got them on sale and they are GREAT! My kids love them, and it took less than 4 minutes to inflate just like it said it would, and it was not difficult to set up at all.

4-0 out of 5 stars good buy!
This is a good buy if not using all the time. So easy to set up...it takes just a few minutes! Be sure not to pump it up too much though, or it becomes hard. This bag is so convenient we'll use it for sleepovers, camping, hotels, etc.... My 3 year old daughter will be much more comfortable in this than on a hotel cot. It's soft fleece, and who can resist Hello Kitty?

Lined throughout, these colorful gloves protect hands and forearms from heat, oil, steam, and smoking franks. And they're comfortable, with sheepskin lining for the back of the hand and soft fleece for the palm. You won't notice the stitching on them, either, because it's tidily inside out. A far cry from clumsy oven mitts, these gloves give your fingers full articulation for basting, flipping, or rotating grill items. 4-0 out of 5 stars Better than Barbie!
These colorful kung fu gloves are designed to limit the wear and tear on your hands, and take my word, they do, I recently attempted to break some ice blocks with these and they preserved my skin. Comes in tangy summer colors also!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for BBQ Smoker
I purchased these for my Smoker on recommendations of other reviewers and I do not regret having these. They are comfortable and excellent to use. I though wearing gloves would be terrible in handling not only the Smoker but the food, the tools, etc. Was I wrong! I am so glad that I finally have stopped myself from being burned .. LOL

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT GLOVES....
These are great gloves.... you will want to wear them all over the house..

5-0 out of 5 stars Great grilling gloves!
I bought these gloves with the intention of using them for arranging my charcoal before lighting the grill, but I got so much more. They are extra long so they protect your arm/sleeve from charcoal stains and they can withstand pretty much heat. I like to light the charcoal and then put my grid on while the fire is going. Now I don't worry about getting burned! Kids, don't try this without an adult present. I recommend these for anyone who loves to grill.
