Great Product!
I've always had a spider problem in my home during certain seasons and rainy periods. I purchased 6 units (3 two packs) about a year ago and shortly after plugging the units in I noticed the spiders were gone. Now after a whole year without spiders, I had to remove 2 of the units because we got a Guinea Pig and 2 Parakeets. The spiders have reappeared in the 2 rooms I took the units out of within 2 weeks, so I really do believe they work. I'm not sure if they're a problem for the Parakeets but instead of taking the chance, I'm calling the company to ask before I put the units back in. I also need to find out if they are safe for the Guinea Pigs since it does warn about rodents, but maybe I can use them if they're a certain distance away from the cage. No power indicator
I just purchased it and I am not sure whether it will work or not, but the 1st thing I noticed is that it has no power indicator. So how will I know the battery is out? Until the bugs bite me?

Dissappointed
I have to say I'm dissappointed in this product. I wanted to keep some ants away and it's had no effect at all. A little tiny spider has even built a web off it. It's supposed to keep those away too. Anyway, I can't return it becuase I would have to pay shipping and handling and that would cancel out the refund.

Useless product
I bought a set of 5 (or maybe 6) and put them in the garage and basement to get rid of spiders and small crawling bugs. Months later, conditions are still the same.

WORKS FOR ME
Ever since I plugged it in, even little ants don't fool with it. I didn't think it would work at all, but wow.

anecdotal praise from outdoor living enthusiast
Anecdotal proofs are compelling but mean almost nothing. These electromagnetic devices are not new, but it is amazing at how the claims purport to repell rodents, insects, and everything else while being harmless to people and pets.. I repeat my appraisal that if you want to throw away your money, you are welcome to buy one of these useless devices. They do nothing and there is no evidence anywhere to prove that they have any useful effect, other than the promise of unimaginable successful control of every pest under the sun. Good luck... by the way I am a Board Certified Entomologist and work in this field. I am always looking for better methods and approaches to pest management. I would be delinquent if I didn't warn consumers about this kind of useless product. Wonder who the outdoor living enthusiast is..?

Sam's a little off base with his review
I beg to differ with Sam's review. I had a similar ultrasonic device from a different manufacturer and it worked great. I have no experience with the Sunbeam product, but I can tell you that after plugging ours in, we were rodent and bug free for 2 years. We previously had a problem with mice and black widow spiders, among other things. The unit recently burned out, and we are now overrun with mice and spiders again. We haven't been able to find one locally, but I am definitely ordering one on-line immediately to solve the problem. ... Read more
