3-0 out of 5 stars I bought this pest contro back in 1997
This device is very good, I didn't had roaches, spiders in my apartment since 1997. However, after the black out on 2003 in new york city, my 2 pest contro devices stopped working appropiately. Therefore I am forced to buy 2 new pest contro's.

After reading previous comments about the products, I guess it depends where you live. I happen to live in a 30 floor building and it works fine for me, the only problem I had was after the blackout and the devices started making a twitching sound. Probably due to the power failure, the pest contros were no longer in use. From that point my kitchen has small roaches and about 3 adult roaches by my kitchen table. I bought a newer version called "pest patrol" after the black out and that one didn't do a thing.

I`ll take a shot with the original pest contro, and I rather use this product than the newer ones that seem to have dissapointed a lot of consumers here at amazon.

1-0 out of 5 stars Does Nothing Against Insects
After purchasing this to help battle a cockroach infestation, I learned that insects do not "hear" the ultrasonic frequency emitted by this device. Nevertheless, I plugged in two in my kitchen and my roach problem was not helped. I understand that it may help with rodents, however.

This little device is a complete hoax for insect problems.

4-0 out of 5 stars PestContro Delivers
I bought this product from a TV infomercial five years ago during the summer. Because we did have a recurring problem with various pests and we didn't want to deal with the expense of a monthly pest control company fee, I decided to take a chance on what was considered pretty radical technology then-using ultrasonic and magnetic sound to drive away pests in your home. Plus I liked the idea of not using toxic fumes. I got the product, actually read the instructions, and plugged it in using an extension cord (doesn't slow down it's effectiveness) so I could position it correctly under our dining table with an unobstructed view. The rest of that year, I saw some improvement, but not a lot-it slowed down the march of spiders coming in from the fall rains, and kept most of the mice from coming in to watch TV in the winter (we live near a wooded area, so pests are unavoidable), but there was nothing to get really excited about. The next spring brought some surprises though...the mean green flying machine did not take over our home as usual. By that I mean the flies, bees, mosquitos, gnats, etc. They would come in, and after awhile, you could actually see them frantically trying to get back out...if they didn't, you'd find them RIP'd on your windowsill the next time you dusted. The next thing we noticed that our dog stopped having problems with fleas-to the point that we were able to stop buying extra flea control for him. He's not stupid either-whenever our poodle has had a visit with another unprotected dog, he would come in and lie down right in the line of sight of PestContro :) That summer marked a real slowdown in spider population, and we only got one rodent visitor that winter. Since then, except for an occasional dusting of its casing, I haven't touched or moved our PestContro from under the dining table. Also, our lives have been pretty much pestfree. No, we are not totally 'free' of pests, but I didn't expect PestContro to do that-I just wanted to slow down the 'colony' and to keep them from taking up residence-In my opinion, PestContro delivered on that promise.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Poor
I ordered two for the price of one, I received one and one month later I was told that the second item was no long available. Now I no longer have the package or the bill to send the first back.

5-0 out of 5 stars No more ants

1-0 out of 5 stars Like all pest control devices - this too is ineffective
We have one of these high end units on each floor of our house, plus many of the Lentek lower models. None of them work... at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars I am pleased
We tried this product out with some distrust. But we bought two of them, knowing that if they did work back they go to the mfr. But they have worked. Flies and ladybugs, which are normally everywhere by now, are nowhere to be found in our house. We are also using these to help with getting rid of some bats in the ceiling area. Will by another one. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Got Rid of My Mouse
Sitting in my comfy chair reading a book, I thought I saw something move. "Maybe I should get my eyes checked," I thought to myself. Later I saw something scurry past the doorway again going the other way. Eeeeeek! (I didn't actually say it.) I had a mouse. After a few nights of unsuccessfully chasing the little guy with a broom and a shoebox, I saw an ad for this gizmo in a mailer. "What the hey, you never know." I bought one. I felt like Wiley Coyote ordering a trap from ACME.

I used it in the living room, then tried it in the kitchen. It has two features: 1.) an electromagnetic pulse and 2.) an ultrasonic noise. The electromagnetic pulse uses the wiring in your house to broadcast a signal throughout your whole house. This is supposed to mess with the mouse. The ultrasonic feature will only work in one room and works best if you don't hide it behind furniture. The mouse can hear high-pitched noise blaring; you can't. I use both features. I think the ultrasonic part is more important, but that is just my guess.

After a few weeks, there were no more cracker crumbs in the cabinets and no more little mouse presents. Has to be over a year now and I have had no more problems with mice.

Pros: Worked for me.

Con: Took a few weeks to work. You should keep it plugged in the wall 24/7 365 days a year, so it takes up a wall outlet. (You might want to take it out if you have a dinner party or a hot date.) ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Finally, a high-tech solution for an age-old problem: bugs and rodents. We've all been there, watching a tiny ribbon of ants march along a kitchen counter or finding telltale droppings in the closet's hinterlands. Lentek International elevates mousing to an art form with its ultrasonic pest repeller. This dandy device plugs into a regular wall socket and emits an ultrasonic sound that fluctuates from higher to lower frequencies, targeting different pests--lower for bigger pests, higher for smaller. Exposure to this harsh sound (which is inaudible to humans) makes your unwanted guests skedaddle. The device works best in high-pest areas, but if you want super results, place two in the same room but on opposite walls. This creates a ricochet effect, and the bugs and mice won't know what hit 'em. Some of the best features of this repeller are that it won't interfere with your TV or computer, it uses no chemicals, and it's safe around children and most household pets. --C. Whitney-Ward ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Never Buy This One ...
This is one of my worst purchase @ AMAZON since last 4 years or so. The product pratically does not work ... drains only electricity.

1-0 out of 5 stars A good power consumption device, but nothing more
I tried this device in my garage to keep out insects and spiders. After several months, there is no detectable difference except for a slightly larger utility bill.

I think the spiders are better at keeping out the insects.

I definitely feel like a sucker for buying this.

2-0 out of 5 stars A disappointment
My wife is DEATHLY afraid of mice so that was our primary intention of this product. We plugged it in, but the mice still seemed to stick around. We killed a spider right by the device! Our house is small so it should have been able to handle it. I tried all the settings I could think of. Also tried it in different plugs. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ants R Gone
I live in a condominium with apartments above and to the sides of mine. At least once every couple of months I would have an infestation of ants. Since I put one device in my kitchen and one in my bedroom, I have not had any more ant parades. It's been over 1 1/2 years and I am a believer! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not working for me
I put the Lentek PR21M to work on 3/13/02, I am still seeing spiders and ants after nine weeks. I am starting to doubt that this thing will work at all!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pest Control For On The Road Camper
I wasn't quite sure when purchasing Ultrasonic PestContro, that it would work for me. But after having it installed for over 2 months now, I havn't seen any traces of mice droppings anywhere in my trailer. I was tired of setting traps, and then finding that the mice were just eating each other when traped. This is one product I'am glad I bought. It really works. Best part I like is that it is portable. It uses 110 volts, when hooked up at my back yard, and 9-volt battery when out on camping trips. I do intend to buy 2 more, one for my garage, and one for the house. Thanx Lentek, For a great product. Charlie, Fallston, Md.

4-0 out of 5 stars Peace of Mind, With Lentek Pest Control
Since buying my New 1998 Coachmen Coachmen Travel Trailer, I have found that mouse traps are only good, if you can check them often. When you put it up for Winter Storage, you can't always check the traps. When you finally do, you find that new nice have been eating the one's caught in the traps. There are plenty of other Electronic Pest Controls around, but this is the first one I've seen that has a battery back-up. This is what I have been looking for, since I go hunting for two weeks at a time in the mountains. Now I don't have to worry about bring'ing home unwanted critters. I have found no evidence of any mice in the trailer, since installing the Lentek PR21M Portable Ultrasonic PestContro. With a price tag of under $20.00, you would not exspect to find all the features that this one has. Adjustable frequency, test mode, portable using either 120 volts, or 9-volt battery, and a large protection area of up to 1500 square feet. I'am planning on buying two more, one for the 2 car garadge, and one for my large shed. I store bird feed in both, and this will deter the nice problems. Thanx Lentek, for a great product, at a reasonable price. Charlie Pedrick, Fallston, Maryland. 07/03/01

1-0 out of 5 stars Short life for a portable unit
I purchased this item to place in my shed, which doesn't have an electrical outlet. I thought it would be perfect since it's portable and made by Lentek, a company that got great reviews for their other pest control products. However, this unit runs less than two weeks on battery. Not worth the money if you have to replace the battery every other week. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Hello Bees
I bought this product for my dad as a gift. They have a problem with bees outside on their patio. The instructions for this product state that it can be used indoors or outdoors and it would repel bees. We tried it on a very small patio one day and the bees were actually attracted to the product. They were sitting on top of the machine when we had it on in both the silent mode and audible mode. I returned the product and we decided the best alternative to getting rid of the bees is to use fabric softner which is cheaper.

5-0 out of 5 stars GOODBYE, BUGS!!
I have recently relocated from NYC to a very rural area of west coast Florida--Bugs Galore! Although my home was new and not infested, I had constant creepy-crawlies for guests no matter how much professional pest control was used indoors and outdoors too. I bought 2 of these units; one for a central area inside my house and one for outside on my patio/pool area. It works wonderfully! My patio area is now totally free of most insects and the few that do get in are driven crazy by the sound and either evacuate immediately or die. Indoors, my house has been totally pest-free. I also purchased several of the smaller PestoControl wall plug-in units to use in conjunction with the PR22M unit. All in all, I'm very pleased with the PR22M Ultrasonic Dual PestoControl. ... No more chemicals, traps, or discreet pest funerals: high technology is finally in the pest control business. Lentek's nifty electronic pest/insect repeller takes the guesswork out of ridding your home of uninvited varmints. Have a pesky squirrel in your rafters? Plug in Select-A-Pest, hit the power button, and then press the selection button on top of the unit. It has separate settings for small animals, rodents, bats, spiders, and fleas. And the unit's design is weatherproof, so it's ideal for using outside or in an unheated attic or basement. The larger the pest, the louder the sound that the Select-A-Pest emits, so be forewarned. However, if you want to use it inside your house, it has a silent, fluctuating ultrasonic setting that will deal with a variety of nesting pests. You'll have to play around with it a bit because results can vary depending on the temperature, humidity, and density of the objects in the room. Overall, this repeller approach works well: it's clean, efficient, safe around children and most pets, and, best of all, it sends your unwanted pests packing. --C. Whitney-Ward ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work
I had a different pest repeller for four years and when I had that one I never saw a bug or mouse. I thought this one would be better because it was more expensive and you can select which pest that it works for. Well since I have had it I saw a roach a few feet away from the unit. I just had to get rid of a bee that was in the same room. We even had a bird that was standing on the porch screen not to far from the unit. I wish that I had bought a different brand.

1-0 out of 5 stars Does not work for spiders!
I bought this product mainly for the spider problem we have in our garage. I followed the directions for effective use and I haven't seen any decrease in spider activity. In fact I think there's more now. Can't say if it works for mice or larger animals but I would guess that it's more effective on them. ... Read more

This device plugs into a wall socket and emits a high-frequency, ultrasonic sound (30 to 60 kHz) that repels rodents but is inaudible to humans and nonrodent pets. It's humane and nontoxic but effectively chases away rodents. Under ideal conditions (few sound-absorbing materials), the repeller delivers sound to 400 square feet. This model has a night-light that can be switched on or off. Turned on, the light's photocell detects daylight and turns off and on automatically. Three LED displays light up as the two speakers come on, indicating that sound is being generated. A switch sets the sound level at high or low, and a test button allows you to detect the difference, though at a level that won't cause harm. The device measures 4-3/4 by 2-1/4 inches, functions for five to seven years or more (the night-light lasts about six years), and carries a 90-day, full-refund satisfaction guarantee and a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The only thing that worked for me
I had a terrible mouse infestation 2 years ago. I tried the so-called "humane" traps, but they could not keep up with the exploding rodent population, were not "humane" at all if you could not check them several times a day, and it was enormously inconvenient to relocate the inmates to a far distant location at any time of day or night. Then I bought a set of 3 PC3300 Pestchasers. The mice moved out over the next few weeks. I have had a recurrence this Fall with mice nesting in the washer/dryer units in the utility room (but staying largely out of the kitchen/dining area where the PC 3300 Pestchasers are mounted). The wall outlet in the utility room is too high up to beam any sound under the washer/dryer units with a wall unit. I've just ordered the PC2020 model with the cord, so I'll be evaluating that unit to see if it might work for getting under appliances. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Lasts one season
The first season I used the sonicweb I felt it alleviated the mosquito problem. After storing it in the garage for the winter, it lasted only one week into its second season. Lucky for me it was still under warranty. I sent it back and received a new one, which stopped working after two weeks. By not working I mean electrically dead, no sound, no pulse, no lights. It was an expensive. mistake.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother
I tried the SonicWeb last year and sent it back within the first 3 weeks. To their credit I did get a full refund. The thing didn't attract mosquitos. There were a variety of flying bugs that trapped, but it appears this was due more to their accidently flying into the thing randomly vs. being attracted. After week #1 I had maybe 30 bugs in total trapped. I ended up buying a Mosquito Magnet and am happy with it. Within a day it trapped 10 times the mosquitos than the SonicWeb did in a full week.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works in NH- Better than Mosquito Deleto!!!
We wanted to try and rid our yard of the pesky and disease carrying blood suckers! The first machine we bought was the Mosquito-Deleto. That machine caught one or two a day, along with a few house flies, and a couple of curious bees.
We returned that machine and bought the SonicWeb. (during this time we found out some machines work better than others in certain areas of the country.)
The SonicWeb worked GREAT !!!!! After a few weeks we were able to go outside and enjoy the yard. In fact this year we're doing improvements/changes that we'll be able to enjoy all summer.
Try it. If it doesn't work, try another brand. Summer evenings don't have to be spent swatting and spraying.

1-0 out of 5 stars Just Fly Paper .....dressed up like R2D2
Not really worth the cash. Bought it hoping to make our annual outdoor party more bearable. Used it for 3 weeks before the party to put a dent in the mosquitos population before the big night. It collected many insects but few mosquitos (less than 15.) The night of the party you couldn't even tell any difference from the previous 3 years. I really hoped this would have worked.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sonic Web WORKS!
Have used this machine for 2 mosquito seasons, and it REALLY WORKS! After a recent tropical storm in Florida, the mosquitos were hatching like crazy. 1-0 out of 5 stars Dissappointed
I have to say I'm dissappointed in this product. I wanted to keep some ants away and it's had no effect at all. A little tiny spider has even built a web off it. It's supposed to keep those away too. Anyway, I can't return it becuase I would have to pay shipping and handling and that would cancel out the refund.

1-0 out of 5 stars Useless product
I bought a set of 5 (or maybe 6) and put them in the garage and basement to get rid of spiders and small crawling bugs. Months later, conditions are still the same.

5-0 out of 5 stars WORKS FOR ME
Ever since I plugged it in, even little ants don't fool with it. I didn't think it would work at all, but wow.

1-0 out of 5 stars anecdotal praise from outdoor living enthusiast
Anecdotal proofs are compelling but mean almost nothing. These electromagnetic devices are not new, but it is amazing at how the claims purport to repell rodents, insects, and everything else while being harmless to people and pets.. I repeat my appraisal that if you want to throw away your money, you are welcome to buy one of these useless devices. They do nothing and there is no evidence anywhere to prove that they have any useful effect, other than the promise of unimaginable successful control of every pest under the sun. Good luck... by the way I am a Board Certified Entomologist and work in this field. I am always looking for better methods and approaches to pest management. I would be delinquent if I didn't warn consumers about this kind of useless product. Wonder who the outdoor living enthusiast is..?

5-0 out of 5 stars Sam's a little off base with his review
I beg to differ with Sam's review. I had a similar ultrasonic device from a different manufacturer and it worked great. I have no experience with the Sunbeam product, but I can tell you that after plugging ours in, we were rodent and bug free for 2 years. We previously had a problem with mice and black widow spiders, among other things. The unit recently burned out, and we are now overrun with mice and spiders again. 5-0 out of 5 stars It does work
I bought one for a small townhouse. The main floor is about 500 sqft. The mouse (which used to come nightly) never returned after I plugged it in. I purposely left out food to lure it one night and it didnt show up. Great product.
I did have one minor problem. The original location was next to a metal a/c return grid. We could hear a harmonic noise. Moving to an outlet across the room fixed that.
I would recommend this product to friends. I got rid of mice for under $20 without poison or traps. I didnt have to worry about dead mice in the walls.

1-0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for insects
I was extremely disappointed in this product. We bought a couple of these in hopes of solving our insect problems. We had ants coming in through an outlet in the kitchen and brown recluse spiders coming down from our attic. I put one in the kitchen outlet, and the ants just kept coming in! They were even crawling on it! I put the other one in the hallway, and still I found couple of spiders in the bedrooms. Don't waste your money on this and other like products to get rid of insects. We ended up hiring an exterminator.

5-0 out of 5 stars No more pests in my garage
We bought a trio of these Weitech 180-B units shortly after a minor rat-infestation had been cleaned out of our garage, hoping that this would prevent such a problem (lately common in our neighborhood) from occurring again, as well as drive away the scattering of spiders, ants, and other bugs that seemed to favor the nooks and crannies of our garage. We plugged two of these in opposite corners of the garage, and one in the nearby kitchen.

In the several months since then, I don't think I've seen a single rodent, insect, or arachnid anywhere in or near our garage or kitchen. Further, our dog doesn't seem at all bothered by them (although he does think they make great chew-toys, so we have to be careful where we place them). I plan on getting a few more of these to scatter around the rest of the house.

Do note that, from the various reviews on these types of devices, it may be that the efficacy of any ultrasonic pest repeller can vary depending on location or other factors. (Some units purportedly work great for some users and terribly for others, etc.) But the Weitech 180-B seems to work very well in my house, and it would be the first such device I'd try in any new location.

2-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't keep bugs away
I had three of these units placed throughout a 600 square foot apartment (ground floor). Unfortunately, I had to squish a spider, silverfish, or unidentified bug almost every other day (in the summer). Sometimes, I fould find a bug just hanging out directly under the pest repeller! I did not notice a decrease in bugs at all.

I can't say if this product repels mice or not. I never saw a mouse in my apartment before or after I started using the repellers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Creepy Crawlies Beware!
Get rid of the poison! These devices work amazingly well!

This model constantly cycles between high and low frequency sound waves. Low gets rid of mice and rats -- high gets rid of insects and spiders. You plug it into the wall like a night light or a room deodorizer. It is about the size of a deck of cards. It is white and unobtrusive.

The ultrasonic sound does not go through walls -- so use several in different rooms. Move them around occasionally to really confuse the critters.

I keep a Weitech 180 on the sun porch where the cat and dog food bowls live. Another model (Weitech 800) gets moved from room to room.

I live in the country, so every mouse family that comes by thinks my house looks like a good one to live in. The ultrasonic sound confuses the hapless rodents. This confusion is an incredible hunting aid for my 17 year old cat, Checkers. Just last fall she caught five mice in two hours. (Unassisted, her previous record was three in one night -- and she was much younger.) Poor unfortunate mice. R.I.P. They are really picking the wrong house move into if they choose mine.

These devices do not seem to be effective at keeping opossums from coming in the dog door. One old gentleman opossum was insistent that my house was a good one.... then I got a Jack Russel Terrier and he moved on. (Opossums are marsupials -- not related to squirrels, mice, gerbils or raccoons, etc. at all.)

Last summer a bat flew in the open patio door (a mouse with wings) -- I didn't stay in the house long enough to see if the bat was confused or not. I climbed out the living room window and went to the neighbors, screaming. It had flown back out by the time we returned so, maybe this device worked against it. I do not know.

I saw a snake outside last fall. I do not think these devices work against snakes either.

But for spiders and bugs and other creepy-crawlies, they are much more effective than any spray or trap -- and safer and cleaner -- get several! (And maybe a Jack Russel if you have an insistent opossum.) ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars mice build resistance
This product I thought was a godsend. However, the mice built up a resistance, it seems, to the sound emmitted. You are able to hear the noise and although it's easy to ignore, it's easy to hear at night.

5-0 out of 5 stars squirrels, bugs, mice. . .you name it!
This has been the most effective and easiest method of pest control I've ever used. Just recently, my husband and I got one for his mother, who was having trouble with squirrels getting inside the kitchen ceiling. As soon as she plugged it in, the squirrels disappeared. It's been over a month now, and she hasn't detected any squirrel activity.

Really, if you feel poison is inhumane, or hate using traps, this is your best bet--a definite godsend for the critter-squeamish!

1-0 out of 5 stars A complete waste of money!
Do yourself a favour and DO NOT buy this gadget. It might repell mice, but it also repells everything else, including people. The "ultrasonic" sounds are, in reality, a loud screeching noise that is impossible to tolerate or even stay in the same room with. Only the insects seem to love them. Buy an insect repellent, and as for scaring away mice, get yourself a nice cat - and you are sure to do much better than by aquiring this useless trinket!

3-0 out of 5 stars Works great but doesn't cycle between frequencies!
A friend that was having a major pest problem. (You know it is true love when you go shopping together for roach motels, yes?) We'd had good luck with the smaller model Weitech 0520 -- but needed more coverage. The critters had moved from the kitchen down a long hall to the bathroom. (brrr!) So I went back and got this model too -- thinking bigger was better!

However, where the smaller model constantly cycles between high and low frequencies, this model has a switch. It is set at high or it is set to low. Low gets rid of mice and rats -- high gets rid of insects and spiders.

So! If you have 4, 6 AND 8 legged critter problems, then this is probably not the right device for you -- or maybe you want to buy one and set it to high and buy another and set it to low.

It does have the advantage of operating on battery or AC power... so if you have a crawl space or attic without an electrical outlet, then this would be the device to buy. But get one if you have a rodent problem -- plus another if you have a bug problem.

They really do work. Amazingly well.

My friend moved this one out to the garage where the four footed creatures were getting in the dog food. He then bought two more of the smaller models (Weitech 0520) and moves them around the house.

Hadn't seen hide nor hair of the critters since. ... Read more

Want to get rid of pesky rodents, bats, spiders, and insects in a hassle-free, humane way? Simply turn on this compact 5-3/8-by-3-1/4-by-2-1/4-inch machine, and pests within a 3,000-square-foot area will miraculously scamper, skitter, or fly away. Weitech's patented Variable Frequency Technology generates powerful ultrasonic sound waves that are inaudible to the human ear, yet penetrate and disturb the nervous system of rodents, bats, and small insects, forcing them to seek safer ground. The repeller is safe for use around infants and children, as well as dogs, cats, birds, or fish--pet mice, gerbils, and hamsters should be kept away. This handy machine has two settings: one for fleas, moths, insects, and spiders; one for rodents and bats. In addition, you can can opt for either high or low power, and quiet or audible sound. For the most powerful repelling action, the machine should be set on the high-power, audible setting. It should be noted that even on the quiet settings, the machine does make a slightly audible chirping or clicking sound. The attractive, off-white unit functions automatically and continuously for two to four days with a 9-volt battery or continuously with a power adapter (included). An illuminated LED light stops flashing when the battery becomes weak or begins to lose power. The operating instructions thoroughly describe the functioning and proper use of the unit for different types of pests. The unit should be placed anywhere from floor level to 3 feet above the floor and placed to take advantage of the echoing effects of hard surfaces such as walls, mirrors, and windows. Although safe for outside use, the unit is not waterproof. Limited two-year warranty. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I Like It
I bought these for my basement and a porch that was closed in many many years ago. My main purpose was for repelling mice. So far so good! My only dislike about the product is, it has 2 settings one for creepy insects and bugs, while the other is for long tailed four legged critters. It would be nice if one setting would work for all. As for the noise, you do have the option of silent or audible. I prefer the audible. If it annoys me then I know it's annoying the mice too! Thus far it has done a good job of keeping them out.

2-0 out of 5 stars Annoying clicking noise
I bought the Weitech 1500 Pest Repeller hoping to get rid of a pesky mouse but 3 weeks later, it's still running around!

The worse part of the product is the irritating clicking noise it makes, just imagine hearing your alarm clock all day, just not as loud. It's driving me crazy! I don't know what's worse the steady annoying clicking noise or knowing that the mouse is still here. I'm still hoping that it'll work because i can't imagine actually killing the mouse and trying to throw it out.

5-0 out of 5 stars This really does work!
We were having a problem with brown recluse spiders in our home. This pest controller eliminated most of them. When one first uses it, it will actually make pests more active because it disrupts their normal cycles. After about 4-6 weeks, the number of pests one sees will be greatly reduced. Sound frequencies don't travel through walls, so this unit should be placed in a more open area. Smaller units are available for smaller places. We have this unit and 2 of the 1000 square feet units. I'm buying one more for our garage--that's how satisfied we are with the product.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works for Rats and Mice

3-0 out of 5 stars Still have mice
I have a river and wooded area behind my house so I anticipated having mice and other pests once the Winter rolled around. I purchased these a few months after I moved in (before ever seeing a mouse) with the intention to avoid ever having them. At the time, I did have a large amount of spiders in the house. I noticed a large reduction in the amount of spiders once I plugged these in. I am an animal activist, so I certainly did not want to resort to traps or poison. Each year, even after plugging these in, I have one to two mice in my place. It's hard to say if I would have more mice without these devices, so I could not rate it lower than 3 stars. I can say that it is much better than a similar device by a different company that I used which makes horrible clicks and had spiders hanging from it. I can also say that I have never seen a mouse beyond the points where I have these plugged in. I have only seen them in one room and even though there is a device in that room, it is far from where I have seen mice. That could be a possitive factor for this product. I do encourage the use of these products so that cruelity and chemicals do not have to play a role in your lives, but they are not 100% perfect. Perhaps if you have one in every room, the chances of having mice could be very slim.

1-0 out of 5 stars Major disappointment
I have had six of these units in a very small house for over a year. The mice are merrily chewing their way up through the floor from under the house trying to get INTO the house. I have suffered more rodent damage AFTER buying these units than before I had them. I have rotated them as suggested by Weitech. I keep hoping that I will not have to resort to poison. I still have to buy roach bait for the huge water roaches. So, this product doesn't even work on bugs. The units came in a package of three. One unit in each pack has a nightlight. That is the most useful part of these devices. A mouse just skittered across the floor--in broad daylight. This room is 8 X 8 and has a Weitech unit plugged in as I write this. Shame on you Weitech!

1-0 out of 5 stars Didn¿t work at all!
I bought 2 units of this Mouse Repeller, but it didn't make any difference at all.
We still had a lot of activity going on. The best thing is to use all conventional means available to get them out of your house.

5-0 out of 5 stars Blast your rodent problems away!
I'm living in a pre-war Manhattan apartment. One day, I noticed traces (to put it politely) of mice in my kitchen. I didn't want to resort to cruel traps or toxic pesticides. I just wanted to drive the mice away.

After doing a bit of research, I came across several different brands of ultrasonic pest repellers of varying price levels. The Sharper Image was selling one for an absurd price. Absolutely silly. I picked up two of the Weitech devices based on the low price. I figured that if they didn't work, I wouldn't be out too much money.

Anyway, I plugged one of them into my kitchen. My rodent friends seemed undeterred. I plugged the second one in and . . . . Voila! The mice have disappeared! The rodents used to make nightly appearances. Now, I've gone two weeks without a single trace. In sufficient quantities, the Weitech really works.

If you're looking for a humane way to deal with your rodent problem, look no further. Order a few and be patient. No worries if the Weitechs don't work. It's not like they cost all that much to begin with.

Two prehensile thumbs up!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pest Control
This electric mouse repeller really works. I had a mouse that I could not get rid of. I tried everything. I had heard about the electronic devices so I decided to try it. I bought four of them, and placed them in all the rooms of my house. It took about 3 weeks before I noticed that the mouse was gone. I would recommend this to anyone with pest problems. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Awful
Complete waste! -- I have a problem with crickets (huge crickets) coming in from the woods behind our building, I installed this "repellant" and I have to say... The crickets are practically hosting parties right in front of the device!!! Enjoying themselves so much in fact, they have decided to invite guests... a mouse!! Time to call the exterminator (again!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Effective -- and entertaining??
Get rid of the poison! These devices work amazingly well!

This model constantly cycles between high and low frequencies. Low gets rid of mice and rats -- high gets rid of insects and spiders. You plug it into the wall like a nightlight or a room deodorizer. It is about the size of the bottom of a coffee mug.

A friend was having a major pest problem. He bought three of these and you could see their effectiveness immediately. The ultrasonic sound does not go through walls -- so a many-room approach is best!

I keep a Weitech 0500 on the sun porch where the cat and dog food bowls live.

Perhaps the best feature is the ultrasonic sound confuses hapless rodents that happen to think my house is a good one to take residence in. This confusion is an incredible hunting aid for my 17 year old cat, Checkers. Just last fall she caught 5 mice in two hours. Rascal, the Jack Russel Terrier, never to be left out, generally steals and quickly runs outside with whatever Checkers captures. (If she doesn't run fast, Checkers will beat her up and steal it back.) I generally watch this most entertaining show from a high perch, emitting some high frequency sound waves of my own. Who would of ever thought mouse control would come with entertainment value?

Much more effective than any spray or trap -- and safer and cleaner -- get several if you live in a large house! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Excellent human repeller
I never write reviews, but this product performed so poorly that felt compelled to let the world know. I purchased two of these devices for my 2000-sq foot home to combat a formidable home invasion by mice. Not only did these things not work, I actually saw a mouse sitting atop one, staring at me, while the repeller was turned on and set at the medium (nearly intolerable) volume setting (the second one was 20 feet away on the same setting). I finally junked these things and purchased steel wool, several cans of expanding foam, and spent an afternoon sealing up every hole in my crawl space (their base of operations for the living space above). The mice that were subsequently trapped above (in my stove - presumably for warmth) were dealt with via a Maginot Line of glue pads. I'm now happily mouse free, no thanks to Weitech. In short, their product sucks. I didn't mention that the sonic volume on these things is not something that wives, kids or pets are able to tolerate - I did, only because I hated the mice more.

5-0 out of 5 stars It really works!
I put the repeller on the deck the second week of July. After about 10 days I noticed there were no bugs flying around at all. No spider webs, no flys, nothing. The setting for flying insects and spiders has a very low volume and you don't even hear it. If you like using your yard bug free this is great!

1-0 out of 5 stars Audible to humans, pets, etc.
This might actually work, but it sent me out of the room with the constant noise. In a warehouse where no one is working, or a an abandoned garage, or on a planet with no humans, this might be ideal. It also "doesn't work through walls" according to the manual. Eeek. ... Read more

These work great! It does take a few weeks for the pest to get the idea to leave, but they eventually really do. The sounds don't penetrate anything solid, so you should have one in every room. Make sure you don't use baits and traps while using this because that actually draws the pest in.

3-0 out of 5 stars No more bugs?
I bought 2 of these. I wanted the mouse out but not dead. Instead it's driven it crazy. I'd wake up with my plants destroyed. It's like I ticked it off and it's going to tick me off. It does seem to work eventually. Make sure if you get one it's one for every room in the house. It doesn't go through walls and Don't forget to get them for the attic to. The other thing is you can here it.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT product!
I live in a converted 18th century barn in the country with plenty of mice and even more spiders! Since having 2 of these, I haven't seen either mice or spiders.

1-0 out of 5 stars Product did not work
I have this product located by the door in my garage and I also have a conventional mouse trap directly under the repeller and have killed two mice in the traps. I also have other traps set in the garage that have killed mice. I have wooded lots on each side of my house so I purchased this product to keep the mice out of my garage but it is not working for me. I have had no sucess with this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must in the Northwest! Get one before next October!
If you hate spiders and don't want to spray your house because you have pets, then this is a nice clean safe alternative. While spiders are helpful creatures, they can live outside as far as I am concerned. If cursing all spiders that enter your house has not worked, give this a try.
