If you store your Weber Q outside, then you must get the vinyl cover. The material is well made so the cover will never rip. Fits perfect on the Weber Q. I Love it.

Weber's Q hybrid gas grill has a uniquely funky design that allows it to serve equally well as a compact portable grill or as a full featured backyard grill at home. Its generous 280 square-inch porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grate offers plenty of grilling acreage for a pile of burgers, strip steaks, hot-dogs or a fish nearly as big as the one that got away. The lid offers a 7-inch tall capacity and can cover foods as big around as a whole chicken. At the same time, the Q folds up to only 31-1/2 inches for easy carrying, and the Q's glass reinforced nylon frame helps keep it lightweight without sacrificing strength or durability. It has two durable fold out side wings with built in tool holders to serve as work tables, and the lid on the handle is heat resistant, and large enough to offer an easy grip even when you're wearing a grilling mitt. There's an infinitely adjustable burner valve with a high quality regulator to allow for complete control of cooking temperatures, a push-button ignition for easy reliable lighting, and the Q is fueled by a standard 14.1 ounce propane cylinder (not included). The lid and body are made of durable cast aluminum, and have built in drip ducts to channel away juices and drippings, which then collect on an easy to reach and easy to clean lower tray. --Brian Trinen ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Love the Q!
Husband & I recently bought a Q, after many years of happy grilling on a Weber charcoal grill. We'd been shopping for a gas grill for quite some time, but could not find a quality small grill. Most of the gas grills are just TOO BIG!

We're usually grilling just for the two of us and we wanted a gas grill for the convenience. The Q certainly fits the bill. It's great! I've cooked steaks, burgers, chicken, fish, pork chops, zucchini, onion slices -- well, you get the picture -- and they've all turned out perfectly. It gets plenty hot and heats very evenly. The side tables are a marvelous addition. I was concerned that they might get "icky" when you fold them into the Q, but they're designed so that only the tiny little points on the corners touch the grate.

The cart is a worthwhile addition. It could be a bit sturdier, but it works well enough and the Q fits snugly on top of it and sort of "locks down" under some plastic tabs. I bought a 5' LP adapter hose for $10 at the local sporting goods store (look in the camp stove aisle) so I can hook it up to a 20# tank. My only complaint is that the cart instructions say DO NOT store a tank on the cart, so the tank has to sit beside the Q. I'd rather be able to store the tank on the bottom rack of the cart, but I guess Weber has its reasons for instructing you not to do so.

All in all, a great purchase!

5-0 out of 5 stars Another Great Weber Grill
This is my third Weber grill and first ever gas grill. I've been considering a gas grill for more convenience during the week, but didn't want one that took up much room. The Thermos and Coleman portable models that have come out in the last year interested me at first, but really just seemed to be outdoor grillpans/griddles. Then I saw the Q...

The Q is a good looking, stylish grill. Added to that are clever design features (folding trays, ultra-light composite shell), a high quality regulator, and a cast iron cooking grate that weighs more than the rest of the grill. Weber has also designed accessories that add to the functionality of the Q. Out of the box, assembly is a breeze. A useful Owner's Guide and a nice recipe card booklet are provided.

I've cooked one meal so far. The food cooked evenly across the whole surface. Once it was preheated, the medium gas setting was plenty to keep the heat up. I was very impressed with how well it cooked. Also, don't be fooled by the thought of a portable grill being small -- the Q can handle a lot of food. I had 4 sausages and 12 large shrimp on it and there was plenty of room for more.

As a longtime dedicated charcoal guy, I find that gas grilling just doesn't provide the same flavor. But the Q has won me over for quick, clean, and convenient weeknight cooking. The idea of being able to take it on the road adds to the value. It may even prove to be a handy double-burner for weekend barbecues. Thanks, Weber, for another great grill.

(Update: I've now grilled potato planks, chicken breast, pork chops, pizza, polenta, pinwheel skirt steaks, garlic bread, eggplant, mushrooms, and beef skewers. All have turned out pefectly. Can't say enough about the cooking grate and evenness of cooking across the entire surface.)

5-0 out of 5 stars The best BBQ grill ever
If it's possible for a grill to revolutionize BBQ'ing as mankind knows it, then this is the grill. Seriously! I was always a diehard charcoal BBQ guy, and I've had weber grills in the past and have been very happy with them. But I recently moved to an apartment complex where I could not have a charcoal grill. When I saw the Weber Q grill, it was love at first sight. The design is both attractive yet practical. The purchase was a no brainer as I new I had to have a gas grill, eve though I still would have rather had a charcoal one for the sheer flavor. Well after getting this home and cooking a dozen burgers and dogs for myself and some friends I was completely overwhelmed. I had never tasted gas-grilled burgers which tasted so good. Furthermore, this thing heats up so fast, it's just amazing. In 3 minutes the grill is hot and ready to go, and that grill, solid cast iron, holds the heat and cooks beautifully. I've never been able to cook those cool grill marks on burgers and steaks before. Believe me, you will cook perfect burgers and steaks, with those grill marks, while retaining all the flavor and juiciness. This grill is awesome. Unfortunately I paid $30 more than what Amazon is charging because I bought it from a specialty BBQ store and I needed it that day, but trust me, this is the best grill you will ever buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little grill!
I echo the positive sentiments of all reviewers past. Goes together quickly. I also have the stand & the cover. Just used the grill for a 4th of July mini-cookout. Perfect for the 2 of us. I can easily see this grill handling enough food for many more people without a problem. Came up to cooking-temperature very fast and cooked our steak tips and burgers nice and evenly. It was a very windy day here as well and I had no problem at all with the grill staying lit. Never once did I lose the flame.
Very durable - I tipped it over while it was resting on the Weber Q cart. It rolled a few times on the lawn but was unscathed in the end. Not even a scratch. Needless to say I am very impressed with the quality of this product!
Like some others mentioned, I am using the 16oz propane cylinders after a minor tweak to the holder. No problems there either.
Even though we have more than enough room for a full-size grill, I like being able to store the grill in a small space. After using this one, I can see no reason to get a full-size grill.
I would strongly recommend this grill. It truly lives up to all the hype.

4-0 out of 5 stars No space? No problem!
Living in a small top floor condo, I needed a grill that was small, yet worked well enough to cook a good family-sized meal. So after doing a little research on the internet, and by reading magazines; I settled on the Weber Q Portable Gas Grill.

This grill is very nice for a portable grill. It's got an attractive functional design which allows it to fold up when transporting it, or when its not in use. Although it doesn't generate as much heat as bigger grills, it does have enough power to cook about 5-7 large hamgburgers at once easily. The burner is basically a rectangular metal tube with tiny holes from which the flames emerge from. The burner itself rests below the grill about 7-8inches. This makes a hotspot that is about center, but slightly towards the cover's hinges. Around the center of the grill, there is ample space for indirect cooking, but if you plan on cooking a large pork roast, this still maybe a bit small. Still, for most other things like hamburgers, chicken legs, ribs, and hot dogs; the Weber Q works very well.

As far as taste goes, charcoal is still the best, but I would rather use a good gas grill like this one in favor of its easy clean up. The Weber Q's porcelain/cast iron grill can be easily removed and cleaned with soapy water and some good scrubbing. The drip pan is easily accessible as well as the bottom of the grill itself - where all the ash and drippings collect. This can be easily cleaned with some 409 cleaner and a scrubber. Typically it takes me about 15-20 minutes to clean my Weber Q after I finish using it. And best of all, I can do it all in my small kitchen, without having to go downstairs to the shared water hose.

The Weber Q uses 14.1 ounce Propane gas canisters. These last about 1.5 hours, so I would recommend at least 3 for a weekend bar-b-que. These cansisters can be easily screwed into place, and held by a fitted metal ring. I should point out that the Weber Q is made to work with the 14.1 ounce canisters because this metal ring is sized for them specifically. You could also buy an attachment that allows for the larger, more common propane tank to connect to it, but I think that would cut down on its portability. Also note that these canisters should not be disposed of like other trash. Typically, hardware stores like Orchard Supply are willing to dispose of them for you. In my case, I usually give them my used canisters when I go there to buy more.

Perhaps the only real downside to this grill is that it does not come with a stand. You would be forced to kneel, or sqaut to get to your grill as a result. Weber does make a stand, but it costs another $25-30. So if you want to save yourself from some back pain, definitely get the stand. Of course, this brings the price of the grill to almost $200. And that's somewhat expensive for a portable grill. Still, I do like the ease with which the Weber Q folds up and how portable it is (the stand folds up as well). So if you have little space and want to grill decent amounts of food, I suggest checking this grill out. It's expensive, but it's a very good portable grill. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Little Grill for Home or Travel
This is the third little Weber I've had in the past 20 years - I've never worn one out; the first two were stolen! I like the locking handle on the new model. One great feature of these grills is that when you are done cooking, you can close all the vents and the fire will go out in about 15-20 minutes, saving whatever's left of your charcoal for the next time. With the handle locked, it won't spill in the back of your pickup on the way home.

It really does do a great job of cooking, as good as the larger Webers, just for a smaller crowd. We had a Mulberry tree trimmed in our yard and I saved all the chipped up wood to use for smoke flavoring. You still need a charcoal fire for heat; just throw in a handful of chips before you put the meat & corn on the cob in and close the top vent down to make it smoke. Mmmmm, Mmmmm!

You can eat like a gourmet anywhere you tote this to! Just add a cooler full of longnecks.....

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent grill makes great gift
we've used the smokey joe for 10-12 years, had to replace the original 2 years ago. we gave each of our three children one for xmas.you won't find a better grill for steaks, burgers or dogs and we also use it for a slab of ribs occasionly. it vents well, which means you can control how your meat is cooked. the gold smokey is built even better than the original smokey, we will get one as soon as our smokey wears out, maybe 9-10 years from now! don't be fooled by lookalikes, get the weber.

5-0 out of 5 stars We always go back to our Webers...
We have owned a weber of some type for over 25 years, (charcoal that is). This Smokey Joe is the greatest. You can jusify firing up a small load of charcoal for just a few burgers or steaks with this one. Haul in the boat to the beach. Haul it in the car for a picnic. You won't be sorry you spent the $ on this even as a second grill to your big one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for "Cooking on the Road"
The Beautiful Pacific Northwest
This is the perfect charcoal grill for taking on a trip. We recently took an RV trip with friends throughout Oregon/Idaho/Washington. This little grill was perfect for an end of the day BBQ of steaks, chicken, or ribs. The close up and lock handle is perfect for packing it back in the RV. The side and top vents are designed for keeping the coals going and the lack of bottom vents is a PLUS because the ashes stay in the grill, not in your RV storage compartment.

This one exceeded my expectations and allowed us to cook in the outdoors. Thanks Weber!

It costed over $40.00 back then. It is similar to you "smoking joe" but no clamping handle on top

It's still a favorite of mine, but the name is worn off the handle, and some enamel is missing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little grill
I've owned a Weber Go-Anywhere for a couple of years now and it's been a regular part of my outdoor cooking. Gets up to temperature quickly and is great for grilling simple stuff like salmon, chicken and sausages. The food doesn't taste *quite* as good as my mesquite-fired kettle BBQ but the Go-Anywhere also doesn't take 30 minutes to fire up.

The piezzo lighter flaked out on my Weber a couple of months after I bought it but it's pretty easy to light with a match. As another review mentioned, they do rust pretty quickly but they're really sturdy and basic. It grills as well as it did when I first bought it.

Strongly recommended for folks looking for a small, no-nonsense (or frills) gas BBQ.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great portable grill that won't disappoint
This Webber gas grill is a joy to use. It is easily portable (perfect for tailgating, picnics ...) and simple to use. You can buy the propane tanks in any department store ...I have found that one propane can... is enough for at least 3 grill times (for 2 people).

The food itself cooks well and has a nice flavoring. Dogs, burgers and ribs have all come out very well using this grill. There is enough surface area to feed about 3 adults on average.

My only complaint would be that the gas starter button is a little flimsy; you need to be careful when starting it. But this is a great product and I love using it.

5-0 out of 5 stars There just isn't a better portable grill anywhere.
I remember in college my roomie had this old gas hibachi purchased at WalMart for about $25. It was all we could use at the apartment, so it had to be small. It cooked unevenly, never got super hot, but got us through two years of school.

Fast forward nine years later, where $50 doesn't seem like a huge sum of cash anymore. Based on some reviews here, I ordered it up. I have cooked ten meals on it - pork, chicken, burgers, fish tonight. It cooks better than ANY grill I have used before, full-size or not.

It gets pretty hot, for one. The drip pan over the pro-style burner tube vaporizes all of the fallen juices, smoking things up real good and giving food a great flavor. You just have to let it crank for 10 minutes on high to get up to temp, then adjust the temp to your liking.

You can tell out of the box the difference Weber makes in grill making. It is heavier than you would think. The burner tube is a full length unit, covering the enetire cooking area. The regulator is even better than on the portable grills you find at K Mart. The drip pan replaces those terrible, smoky, greasy lava rocks. The ignitor is a nice touch.

Some keys to good grilling though - always, always keep the lid on. Don't poke your food - lets all the juices out!

Only cons to this unit -- the disposable propane tanks get expensive, and this grill goes through them pretty quickly (if you use the grill every day, of course). And lastly, the right side of the unit cooks ever so slightly cooler then the rest of the unit (good for veggies, etc).

Best portable anywhere!

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Little Grill
I bought this grill specifically for tailgating at PetCo Park when my beloved Milwaukee Brewers came to town. Since PetCo doesn't allow charcoal grills, I had to settle for cooking my brats over gas. I was able to cook four brats, two ears of corn and some beer soaked onions in tin foil all at the same time with this grill. There was even a breeze that day, and it didn't blow the flame out. The only small complaint is the starter didn't work too well - luckily, I brought a pack of matches along just in case. Otherwise, this grill worked just fine!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for tailgaiting but never quiet hot enough
I bought this nifty little grill for tailgaiting and to use on the cramped deck of my apartment in the city. For those purposes, it's great -- it folds up into a secure, compact little unit that goes anywhere without a fuss. It's also well constructed and has held together through several years of rough use.

Be aware though that it's definitely not a good choice if you're doing a lot of grilling in one place -- it never quite gets hot enough to work well as a primary grill, even if you leave the cover on and let it preheat before adding your meat. Any wind at all strips the heat right out of it, even with the lid on.

Make sure you stock up on the little gas cylinders or get the tank adapter -- nothing worse than running out of fuel in the middle of a batch of food.

5-0 out of 5 stars Takes a lot of abuse
First of all, despite some comments here that would lead you to believe otherwise, this is NOT a gas grill. The dead giveaway is the word "charcoal" in the product title.

Even though this is designed to be a travel grill (with folding legs that secure the cover in place), I use it as my primary grill. I like to grill at all times of the year so I leave it on the patio all year round and sometimes have to dig through a snowdrift to find it. I'm surprised it hasn't rusted out yet since it has been sitting outside for more than five years. The wood parts are weathered, but still no sign of metal corrosion. When this one eventually goes I'll probably get small round Weber since I really don't need the travel feature.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not outstanding either
It does the job, but as one reviewer said, it doesn't get very, very hot. Hot enough to cook meat well - yes, but the hamburgers don't have a terrific taste, just an average + ordinary taste. This would all be fine if I only paid $24.99 for it, but I paid $49.99. It is well made of good materials, but honestly, I don't see where it's much different from what they're selling at Wal-Mart for thirtysomething dollars or less.

5-0 out of 5 stars BBQ Toolbox!
I had a similarly designed Sunbeam charcoal tabletop that rusted out after 15 years. I had given up on finding a replacement until I saw this gem on amazon. It has the same compact design as the Sunbeam, a stable base, wind resistant grilling, AND THE QUALITY OF A WEBER!!!! The best feature is the folding legs that lock the contents inside the grill and allow easy portability. I know this one will last longer than the pressed metal of the old one. Thank you.

Amazon.com Review

Portable charcoal grills are great for taking the picnic on the road, but they can make it difficult to cook for more than two or three people at once. If you're looking for a mobile grill that allows you to sizzle enough burgers for the entire family without them having to eat in shifts, Weber's Smokey Joe Platinum charcoal grill may be just what your cookout needs. This handy grill is the big sibling of Weber's popular Smokey Joe Gold grill and sports an 18-1/2-inch cooking grate--large enough for a moderate feast.

Like the Smokey Joe Gold, the Silver features a lid lock that makes the grill much easier to carry without messy spills and can also be used to support the lid and create a shield against the wind. The grill unit and lid are porcelain-enameled to prevent rust and fading, and the cooking grate is triple-nickel-plated to prevent corrosion and facilitate easier cleaning. Includes a manufacturer's 10-year limited warranty. --Benjamin Reese ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the best
I purchased an original Smoky Joe back in 1984. With the exception of replacing the grate, it still looks brand new. My in-laws gave us a gas grill and after trying really hard to like it, we ended up back to charcoal in less than one season. I'm so impressed with the product, I bought a 2nd one to keep out at my hangar and planning on purchasing a Weber Performer for those times when size matters. You can't beat the product for durability and taste.

5-0 out of 5 stars Stop looking for a grill, buy this one.
This is the best tabletop grill you can buy. Having an apartment where space is limited, I wanted a tabletop grill for small parties and the 18.5 inch grill was the perfect size. Also, it packs up neatly to transport on outdoor adventures. This grill will easily handle several burgers or kabobs at a time. It is so easy to use and the included guide makes it even easier with clear instructions and even a cookbook of simple recipes to try on your own. Get this grill.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Charcoal Grill
I've had a Jumbo Joe (now called Smokey Joe Platinum)for about 10 years. Its seen heavy use and its always been stored outside. It ought to be a basket case by now, but I have yet to replace any part of it, though the grates are rusty. In contrast with the previous review, I find the little Joes too small for two people. This model will easily handle a roaster and sides, plus it fits in my trunk with the lid upside down. I'd buy one again in a minute.

4-0 out of 5 stars Weber Jumbo Joe
The Weber Jumbo Joe is a very good charcoal grill. It is well built, has some nice features and cooks delicious food. I really like the "lid lock and handle" feature. It makes it easy to bring the grill with you to tailgate or to just pack it up to put away after use. My only word of caution is that the grill is relatively large. It's meant for cooking more than just a couple of burgers. So, there is a sizable charcoal commitment every time you use it. So, if you typically feed four or less people, the 14.5 inch regular Smokey Joe Grill (or Tuck and Carry) may be a better choice. If you feed more than four on a regular basis, "Go for the Jumbo". You won't be disappointed! ... Read more

Lined throughout, these colorful gloves protect hands and forearms from heat, oil, steam, and smoking franks. And they're comfortable, with sheepskin lining for the back of the hand and soft fleece for the palm. You won't notice the stitching on them, either, because it's tidily inside out. A far cry from clumsy oven mitts, these gloves give your fingers full articulation for basting, flipping, or rotating grill items. 4-0 out of 5 stars Better than Barbie!
These colorful kung fu gloves are designed to limit the wear and tear on your hands, and take my word, they do, I recently attempted to break some ice blocks with these and they preserved my skin. Comes in tangy summer colors also!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for BBQ Smoker
I purchased these for my Smoker on recommendations of other reviewers and I do not regret having these. They are comfortable and excellent to use. I though wearing gloves would be terrible in handling not only the Smoker but the food, the tools, etc. Was I wrong! I am so glad that I finally have stopped myself from being burned .. LOL

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT GLOVES....
These are great gloves.... you will want to wear them all over the house..

5-0 out of 5 stars Great grilling gloves!
I bought these gloves with the intention of using them for arranging my charcoal before lighting the grill, but I got so much more. They are extra long so they protect your arm/sleeve from charcoal stains and they can withstand pretty much heat. I like to light the charcoal and then put my grid on while the fire is going. Now I don't worry about getting burned! Kids, don't try this without an adult present. I recommend these for anyone who loves to grill.

4-0 out of 5 stars A brief comment
I lived for 25 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, and all I have to say is that heavy leather gloves have a different connotation up there. These don't make much of a style statement in that regard, but then these are a lot less money, too. So maybe they're best for cooking, after all. But I think Eastman is missing out on the most profitable and style-conscious part of the market. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous
This grill was difficult to light, would not stay lit when the least bit windy, and needed to be run at high or near to high. Consequently, when grilling some chicken, the entire grill caught fire. The handle on the far side from the gas bottle started initially and then the paint on the body burned. Flames shot up two feet. I was able to disconnect the gas before the burning paint reached that side. Needless to say I was terribly concerned.

2-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for
I bought one of these to use for car camping. It's OK for hotdogs and (thin) burgers, but forget about pork chops or chicken. It either wouldn't stay lit or wouldn't get hot enough if the wind was blowing a little.

I replaced it with the Weber Q and couldn't be happier.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Little Portable Cooker
I own this grill and it is very portable and very

inexpensive, great for cooking for up to 15 people.

Very light, cooks steaks and chicken in no time flat.

The legs flip on to secure the lid for easy carrying.

A great grill at a fantastic price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Portable fire is a great thing!
I received this grill in the mail...promptly. Although it was a little flimsier than I'd like, it is still a great grill. The ease of setup and the cooking ability that you get are worth WAY more than the price. NO MORE LAVA ROCKS!!!

Do yourself a favor...buy either this one or the Weber portable. But look at it this way, for the price of the Weber, you could buy TWO of these!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Best camping grill for the price!
We do a lot of "camping" at stock car racing events, and for years have used a worn-out cast iron hibachi to grill the burgers and dogs. While burning charcoal on the old hibachi always succeeded in getting us fed, it was long overdue for replacement.

We decided to upgrade to a portable gas grill, and this is the model we bought. It has truly been night and day from the hibachi!

Just the fact that it has a lid was a huge improvement! And what a concept to not have to wait for the coals to burn down, only to fight to keep the fire consistent. The grilltop is not only larger than the hibachi's, but much more stable than the 2 "paddle" style tops the hibachi used.

Overall, I am very pleased that we replaced the hibachi with this grill - for the price, it can't be beat as a portable grill! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best thing I bought all year!
I live in an apartment and do a lot of tailgating. This is the BEST grill! I get compliments on it all of the time. No one can believe that it actually does what it claims! It has a big enough grill surface to cook for a party but it is small enough to pack up and take with you. It has become the main grill for home and travel. No one even offers to bring their portable anymore.

It heats up very quickly and nothing sticks to the surface. I have used the grill for steaks, burgers, chicken, and to saute mushrooms and onions. I have never used any sort of non-stick agent. It is wonderful!

It cleans up with just hot water in most cases! I love it so much that I am buying another one for my father for Father's Day!

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled and you'll be pleased
I love the Grill-2-Go. I use it every summer to cook in the Sierra Nevadas whilst waiting for the fireworks to start. The trays are stored on the inside of one of the legs. The legs fold neatly underneath. But, IT IS NOT AN OPEN FLAME GRILL. Sure, you'll lose some of the charcoal or propane aftertaste in your food. But you won't have to clean up the burned, oily bits that usually fall through a grill. The whole flame is covered by a teflon(?) griddle. It doesn't show in the picture very well, but on the side, there is a fat trap, or fat collector. The reason why the Grill-2-Go has a level, is so that the grease will flow 'downhill' into the fat trap. From things like hot dogs, which exude little fat, almost nothing flows to the trap. But for larger meaty items, steaks and so on, the fat trap works well. If your looking for something that is portable, easy to clean, and to be used in situations where you are 'roughing it' this grill is ideal.

4-0 out of 5 stars WE USE IT ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!
My husband bought this grill last summer. It has George-Foreman-type grilling plates inside..NO MORE MESSY GRILLS!! Oh, this grill makes grilling fun again! We just throw the heavy plates right into our dishwasher! No more scraping, grease fires, messy charcoal. I love it!

The orange portion of the grill (It has a briefcase style closure) pops off the black legs and you can take it camping, picnicing, or anyplace you can think of. It's lightweight and easy to carry or throw in your backseat or trunk.

However, I only gave this product four stars, because, while the grill is incredible, the black legs are made from hard plastic. They seem a bit "cheap" to me as compared to the grill itself. They are not flimsy, and I do need to say that while they may be plastic, you have to keep in mind the grill in whole doesn't weigh very much. So, It really doesn't matter much in the in the long run, unless you are very finicky.

This is a fantastic compact grill(the namebrand speaks for itself). Forget the mess of others. Just a note of advice: the grill has some black plastic grilling utensils in the box...if they are not to your liking, make sure you use ONLY plastic on the grilling plates. If you don't, the protective non-stick coating will be damaged. Happy Grilling!

5-0 out of 5 stars Camping Helper
We took the portable grill on a camping trip without having ever had a trial run. We had an old Coleman stove for a backu0 for a backup. This product was the hit of the trip. I had never cooked using gas before. I was not sure that the grill would stand up to repeated use because of the dertachabvle legs. We had no problem. We cooked breakfast and dinner. We had eggs and bacon one morning, and pancakes the next, using the griddle attachment. We grilled salmon, using the grilling plate for dinner. We had a lot of rain, and the others kept saying that my grill saved the day! The campers were six adults, ranging in age from 55 to 65.

We are going to capm for a few days this year also. They keep saying, be sure to bring your grill. It took up only a modest amount of space.

One problem. I am trying to buy additional grill and griddle plates. One of each comes with the grill and I want to have two of each. I cannot find how to do that online. I'll try the telephone number.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Litte Grill in Green Harbor
I love my grill. After reading the poor reviews, I was motivated to write a positive one. This is the easiest, most portable grill I have ever owned. From set up to cleaning, I cannot imagine what I did without it. The small propane canisters are a snap to attach. You don't have to lug huge tanks to be refilled anymore. The grill top comes off and can be carried to the kitchen sink to be washed off, or you can hose it down outdoors. This has made outdoor cooking far more pleasurable than it has been in years. A+ for my little red grill!!! ... Read more

Designed for the highly versatile outdoor chef, the BrinkmannAll-in-One cooker delivers five distinct uses in one minimally bulkyunit. By removing or rearranging the All-in-One's separate components, you can fry, grill, or smoke with gas, or grill or smoke with charcoal.Constructed with an all-welded frame, the unit features a raised rimfor extra stability and sturdy U-shaped legs. Switching between cookingmethods is simple and straightforward. For gas frying, the cooker usesthe standalone base with a flat pan, a stable enough construction tohold the large pots used to cook turkeys and lobster. For gas grilling,it features a vented, aluminized base pan that holds the included lavarocks securely above the LP gas burner. Replace the lava rocks withcharcoal, and voila, you now have a charcoal grill. In its charcoalgrill configuration, the All-in-One can be removed from its standinglegs for camping, tailgate parties, or picnics. As a smoker, powered bycharcoal or by gas, the cooker uses two racks to hold up to 50 poundsof food and a water/marinade pan to generate steam.

An integral part of the All-in-One's versatility, the dome lid fitsevery configuration and includes a simple heat indicator to cut down onguesswork. Its rounded shape also forces the circulation of heat, smoke, and steam, so food cooks evenly without the necessity of bastingor turning. Both the chrome-plated steel grills and the porcelainenamel water pan on this model clean up easily, and the wooden handlesstay cool. Brinkmann aluminizes the base pan to prevent rusting andequips the hose with an adjustable regulator for precise flame control. The unit also includes a rust-resistant drip pan to catch ash, embers, and grease. 4-0 out of 5 stars good all around
read about this at www.thebarbecuemaster.com bigals review and recipes work out fine with this smoker

4-0 out of 5 stars Very versatile and easy to use.
This All-in-One idea is really cool. As a smoker, it's very good. Easy to maintain temperature by adjusting the gas flow and air intake. It's a little dificult to run at low temps (200f) if the weather is warm. If you turn the gas down too low, a slight wind will blow out the burner. We solved the problem by giving it more gas, but starving the intake of air.

As a grill, it's not very good. It works, but not very efficiently. We have to crank the gas up real hot to get the pumice warm enough to sizzle steaks. We found that in charcoal mode, it works best after putting a grill inside, raised slightly above the vented tray bottom with some spacers. Put the charcoal on the raised grill. The extra air under the coals makes for a hotter fire.

Now the great part; fried turkeys. This is no 30,000 BTU camp stove. The burner on this baby really puts the heat on 4 gallons of oil. It's almost scary how powerful the burner is.

One final word; this setup does not come with a propane tank. If you don't have one, count on another $25-30 bucks, and on big projects, make sure it's full. Theres nothing more depressing than getting halfway through a 8 hour turkey smoke and run out of fuel.

5-0 out of 5 stars Secret to the BEST Salmon
I've had one of these smokers for 4 to 5 years. I'd buy another one if my current wears out... well, well worth the price. This cooks the best chicken, turkey, and, above all, salmon that I've ever tasted. Try marinating salmon filets overnight in teriyaki and smoking for 45 to 60 minutes with alder chips for the most moist, flavorful salmon you've ever tasted! ... Read more
