Nonstick Surface Comes Off!
I used this product one time -- grilled fish. It worked very well. The fish was cooked to perfection. The removeable handle worked well.

However, when I started to clean the basket, after only one use, the black nonstick surface began to flake and come off. Mind you, I didn't srub or use harsh products. The nonstick surface came off with a little Sunlight soap and a sponge. I can't use it again because the surface comes off in the water, on the sponge, and on your hands. I'm sure that it will come off on your food.

If you don't mind disposable kitchen tools, buy this product.

Coating comes off after first use.
I waited a month to get this item, and was so disappointed when after the first use, I started to wash the basket and the coating came off on many sections of the basket. Good design and idea, but poor craftsmanship.

Only one problem
The basket is good for grilling but it is difficult getting the tongs into the grooves in the basket, particularly when one is standing over an open flame.

Can't wait until it comes in...
I love to grill fish on my Weber gas grill. The only problem is that all of the grilling baskets have these long handles on them so that you can not close the grill cover. Or, if you can close the cover the handle gets too hot to touch without mits on. This is finally what I have been searching all of Houston for. This is a beautiful piece of B-B-Q sculpture and gets one star for looks alone, but it bends too easily at the 'neck' and I'm already looking for a replacement after using it only 2 times! No directions!
This is a good size basket for vegetables, seafood, and/or a mixture of foods. The recipe on the wrapping is good, and gives one ideas for other ways to use it. My complaint with it is that it comes with no directions for use. I had to come back to this web-site to see a picture of the basket with the handle attached to see how it should go on, and even that is hard to see well. I wish I knew if I should preheat the basket, add any oil to ensure the non-sticking, and how hot I should use the barbeque???

Shaker Basket
This basket is HUGE! I don't care too much for the detachable handle, it's kind of awkward to lift and shake. The basket is heavy, and even heavier with the food in it. I love the idea of the basket itself, and it holds so much, I don't think anyone with a grill should be without one. Although, there is room for improvement.

A real sturdy ally to all barbeques!!
I've spent plenty of money on extremely frail barbeque products that got completely rusted, bent, or just broken. The Charcoal Companion Bar-B-que Shaker Basket certainly isn't a product that breaks down easily or doesn't do what it is supposed to do. No more dry, tough or tasteless meat...
I saw this product a few years ago on a TV shopping channel and decided to purchase it. This is without question one of my most frequently used kitchen products. You will never have to worry about dry, tough or tasteless meat again. It is hard to imagine eating poultry without an injected cajun marinade. I have given several of these as gifts and everyone has commented on how much it changed their eating habits. Marinating meat without injecting it produces marginal results as the marinade can never penetrate more than 1/4" into the meat. Now you can have the full flavor of your favorite marinade throughout your beef, pork or poultry. You are limited only by your imagination and you will absolutely love and USE this product!

Better than the cheaper alternatives
I have had the deluxe injector for several years and also have had it develop a crack where the needle mounts onto the plastic. I don't know if hand washing would eliminate the cracking that I and others have experienced. This makes it difficult to get much marinade into anything since the "seal" is broken. A stop gap is to put your finger over part of the crack.

For a while I used less expensive injector syringes but found the black rubber gasket deteriorated if I used a dishwasher and in order to really clean the gasket you have to remove the gasket from the plunger. After a while I found the gaskets would not stay attached to the plunger. I don't know if hand washing would have eliminated this problem.

More important, the inside of the diameter of the needle is smaller on the cheaper units than the Williams deluxe unit making it difficult to draw up and inject marinades where the spices are not all fine powders. The one ounce capacity of the Williams unit is a definite plus.

In both types of injectors I found a small amount of cooking oil made a big difference in the ease of moving the plunger up and down.

What now? I may try a stainless steel unit or a squeeze bottle next depending on the size of the needle and construction quality. Worst case, another of the Williams Deluxe Marinade Injectors.

bought one at wal mart for 3 dollars
I bought one of these at walmart for 3 dollars and have used it for 2 years with no problem. I just hand wash it as soon as i am done with it.

Don't buy it!!!!
The injector worked great the first couple of times I used it however over time the plastic body developed cracks in the base where the needle threads in. From that point forward the injector would only suck air. I eventually had to throw it out.

Great Style, Great Cooking
The quality of style and materials is top notch.With a cast aluminum body and all stainless parts inside, this grill will last and last.The heating is incredibly even across the entire grilling surface and it does put out plenty of heat.

I was worried that this grill might be a little small, but found it to be as large as my 3 previous cheapy grills (such as charbroil) that rust out after 2-3 years.It should be ample to grill for a family of 3-4 every day.
