Perfection found
I've been using this style of starter for 14 years now going through 6 including many "Brand Names". I grill or BBQ on a weekly basis. Recently I stepped up to the Weber 87886 Chimney Starter. This is the best I've ever used. It has a heavy duty convex wire cone in the bottom that makes for an easy start with two sheets of newspaper no need to add paper as I used to do with the brand names. Capacity is there is you need it more than with the competitors but it will also do a great job with a small amount of charcoal. The Plastic handle is bonus and stands up to the weather better than wood. The only way I can see melting the handle is using lighter fluid or self starting charcoal or having it too close to flammable material. The barrel is made of a heavier gauge of metal than the competition and others thinner metal gets weak with repeated heating and cooling. The lifting handle is a nice to have feature with a full load of briquettes. Although do yourself a big flavor treat and try Lump Charcoal, also if using briquettes adding unlit ones to a grill in use gives a flavor to the food I don't care for.

Simply the best way to light charcoal.
As an avid griller and lover of cooking on charcoal, I can't say enough good things about the Weber Chimney starter.

This simple to use chimney style starter quickly lights enough lump or briquette charcoal to fill your 22 1/2 inch weber grill WITHOUT LIGHTER FLUID!!

Lighting is easy. Simply add charcoal to rim of chimney, place parafin lighters or newspaper in the bottom. Light newspaper or parrafin lighters and place on charcoal grate in grill. In 20-30 minutes you will have orange hot smokin' charcoal.

This is also a must for cooking things with very long cooking times such as turkeys or roasts. About 30 minutes before adding additional charcoal, use this puppy to light your coals, and then add to the fire as needed.

As I mentioned earlier, I reccomend using this in conjunction with the Weber parrafin charcoal lighters. On windy days they are easier to use than newspaper.

Once you use this you will never go back to using lighter fluid again. A must have for anyone who owns a charcoal grill.

I've tried the rest. This one is pretty darned good.
I have to first say that I've been using one of these for nearly twenty years. I got my first one as an engagement gift, and couldn't believe someone would spend [$$]...for this novelty gadget. But it was a gift, so what did I care?

I gave it a shot, and found that I would never use a gas grill, nor would I use lighter fluid again. The flavor obtained from grilling on pure charcoal is uncompromised.

A few weeks ago, this came up on my gold box list, and my current one would obviously die this summer, so I went for it. Let me tell you that this is by far, the LARGEST charcoal starter I've ever seen. The previous 4 or 5 have been exactly the same diameter (about 6"). This item is 7.5". For those of you who know geometry, that is 56% more volume. At first, that scared me because I thought I'd have trouble lighting a shallow basket of coals. To my surprise, they light perfectly. Furthermore, when I make those small Turkeys and larger fare in my Weber, I only need to make one batch of coal.

I cannot comment on durability yet, but it does seem so. My starters have always resided outdoors year-round, and typically last 3 years. If you cook with charcoal, you need one of these. This is a fine value.

You don't HAVE to buy this....
Get a coffee can, and cut off the bottom with a can opener. With a bottle opener, use the pointy end for opening juice cans to make openings all around the bottom on the side. Get a double-sheet piece of newspaper and roll from the edges toward the center to make sort of a doughnut, and place in the bottom of the can. Do the same with another sheet of paper, but roll it smaller and place it inside the other doughnut. Poke holes through the center of the doughnuts for air flow. Place your charcoal briquettes on top of the paper. Push the whole stack up so the paper doesn't block the holes (the friction of the paper against the can will hold up the stack). Set the can on your grill or cooking spot, and light the paper through the holes in bottom. It may be beneficial to stack another can with the bottom cut out on top to improve the chimney effect. Now let it sit for 10-20 minutes while the briquettes light up. Come back and find out it blew out. Light it again. Watch it longer this time. When the briquettes in the bottom and sides are gray with ash, use tongs to move them around so the unburned ones can light. When ready, use your Vise-Grips to remove the can. Do not leave the can out in the rain, or it will rust (more easily).

Just spend the very reasonable about of money and buy this product! No rolling the paper JUST right - just wad it up and stick it in the bottom. No concern with keeping the air holes uncovered - a grill inside holds the charcoal. Put the Vise-Grips back in the tool box - this has nice handles. And don't worry about mixing the charcoal - it all lights up evenly.

When I first opened the box, I thought, "Wow! This thing is huge!" Made my two coffee cans seem small, but it is supposed to light a grill-full of charcoal at once. I got the Weber because with all of my research on grills and accessories, Weber products are always recommended above all others. This item seems well-built, and I expect it to last a very long time. After using my homemade charcoal chimneys, which I got pretty good at, I was ASTOUNDED at how quickly this lighted, how quickly it got the charcoal up to temperature, and amazed at the orange inferno it created!

I've been around charcoal grills my whole life (but don't have one myself. Yet. I got this for Dutch oven cooking.) and have never seen a charcoal chimney! I've seen people nearly kill themselves with charcoal starter and ate plenty of charcoal-starter burgers. I don't know why everyone with a charcoal grill doesn't use one of these.

Get rid of storing the starter in your home and transporting it in your car. Get rid of the explosion when you light your grill. Get rid of the starter by-products in your food. Do get this charcoal chimney and get the most easily-lit, most consistently-burning charcoal you can.

Great Product, Economical Price
I bought my Weber charcoal starter last year and after using another brand for comparison have to admit the Weber is light years ahead of the other brand in terms of function. It took me approx 7 or 8 minutes to get the charcoal going with the other brand. With the Weber it took about 3 minutes.

A premium grill deserves a Premium Cover
When I purchased my Weber grill I literally would not put it together until my cover arrived. This is a well crafted cover and I would highly reccomend getting the premium cover, which is full length, you will appreciate the added protection. The cover offers two nice features, side venting and velcro straps. The side venting which in on the front and back allows wind to pass through so the cover does not blow aways (ever go out in the morning after a windy night and your cover is gone?) and the velcro straps also aid in creating a tight fit.

What I tell anyone I know that just purchased a Weber grill is "You just payed $$$ for your grill, spend alittle more for the cover."

Overpriced? A little, but quality is outstanding.
What can you say about a piece of plastic. However, this is the KING of plastic pieces and it fits better than OJ's glove. (The lining is nice too.)

If you have shelled out the funds for one of the large Genesis models, it just makes sense to protect the investment. Unless you keep your grill in a garage or storage shed, you have to have it. (Why Weber doesn't include this with the grill is for them to answer; it really is that essential.)

Amazing grills......but WAY over-priced covers...
I took the advice of the review above and bought the Char-Broil 68" (grey) cover from Lowe's for $14.99 It fits my brand new Weber Genesis Gold B like a glove (very snug due to velcro straps on bottom ends). Interior is fully lined which protects the beautiful stainless steel and the exterior is made of heavy vinyl. To pay $55 for a cover simply because it says Weber is foolish. This is a much better option. Spend the money you save on some steaks and wine.

GREAT FIT - STAYS PUT !
I bought this for our new grill in August and have been very happy with it. I debated about purchasing it because of the cost but am very happy that I did. Let's face it after spending over $500.00 for a grill it's best to protect it and this definately serves its purpose. We have had some serious wind/rain and snow storms and the cover has stayed on through each and every one. I like that it vents to prevent moisture build up too - we have not had any problem with that at all. The adjustable straps are great for adjusting just how tight you want to make it but also allow easy removal for use and replacement afterwards. If you want a high quality product this is it !

It's a Weber...but there are other choices
I appreciate quality...that's why I bought a Weber Genesis Gold C over its competitors but there are other choices that will work at a less dear price. I found that the Char-Broil 68" cover fits likes its custom made, covers the entire grill down to its wheels and is made of heavy vinyl and fully lined. It has velcro straps so you can adjust the tightness by the wheels ensuring a tight fit. This cover is 15.99 at Lowe's. Works Great
After getting the Weber Simpsons grill as a bday gift I needed a cover for it. The grill has been on the outside deck for 2 years now and this cover has done a great job keeping it clean.

The cover itself is very cheap considering how long it lasts and how well it works.

The Premium cover is a cover that is more durable the the Staglar cover and more expansive than the Elgar cover. This cover is a new syth-meth material made up of Kevlar fibers which are extremely strong and durable (they are used for helmets and bullet proof vests). My dog Homer attempted to bite into it one day and he didn't even tear it. It is easy to wash (simply go down to a river and use vegetable soap), easy to use (simply put it on top of your grille) and even light weight (16ou). This can even be used as a blanket if you are stranded in the wilderness like I was one night, very warm.

Get Protection from those White Calling Cards
We get very good use out of this cover. We have had it for about two years now. It protects our grill from the elements and keeps it looking fairly knew. It kept us from having to bring the grill indoors every time after use. Now the cover gets those white calling cards left by the pigeons instead of the grill!

Works but soils

I use this cover for my Genesis silver 'b' grill. It's okay. I find it hard to use really, but maybe it is just taking me a while to get used to. Also, I wonder how well it will protect the grill as it has a large "swath" of mesh across the top that will let all kinds of moisture in.

After about two years of use this cover is still in use and looks and works great. My original comments about the mesh were wrong - it is a great design feature, work well and helps the wind not take the grill elsewhere. This cover has a had a hard time this summer, record rain, Isabel, and recently torrid winds that blew over out board on board wood fence. But the grill cover stayed on, and the Weber never moved.... Very durable. Won't blow away in a storm.
If you are spending a lot of money on your grill. Invest in a good grill cover. This grill cover is great quality. It is made of heavy, durable material. It is fitted to go on a Weber grill. The best thing about it is that it has a narrow strip of mesh netting sewn into the side of the cover. This keeps the cover in place even in the strongest wind storms.

I bought a cheap cover for my last grill. It kept blowing away, so I had to keep weights on top of it to keep it in place. Also, the cheap covers rip and tear after one or two seasons. This cover will last for many years to come.

Good, but beware
I've used this for a few years now on my Genesis Silver B in Chicago. It looks great and fits perfectly. However, be careful over the winter. Mine curled up and the material froze and stuck to itself. Overall, it's a good product. But if you leave it out through rough winter conditions, don't expect more than a year or two of use.

Shipping Ripoff
I purchased a Weber Q grill and some accessories. I understood the shipping charges listed by Amazon included the whole shipping cost for the order. However, I received a bill for $13.55 for shipping for the $4.99 aluminum drip pans from Dynadirect. The web site lists the shipping weight as 4 lbs but they only weigh 5 oz. WHAT A RIPOFF!!

The Local Racoon Love's These Drip Trays
These trays make great serving dishes for the local racoon that visits my house every evening. He LOVES those drippings, and almost ripped the whole bottom pan of the grill off to get to them.

This is a necessity. No more bending down to find the tiny hook on the underside of the lid...this makes the process about 100% more efficient.

Simple, Effective, and Completely Necessary
You wouldn't be looking at this item if you weren't already smart enough to own a classic Weber Grill -- and that means you love your food, you love your grill, and you love to serve your family and guests perfect food.

But let's face it: Some people like their steaks overdone, and people always go for the hamburgers before the bratwurst.

So what do you do with the cooked bratwurst while your Labor Day party people are still munching on burgers? Do you want your medium-rare steak to go cold while you wait for that last steak -- the one for the guy who likes his cooked until it looks and tastes like a shoe -- to finish?

Nah. Just put this warming rack on your Weber, and put the done stuff on it while you wait for the rest to finish.

OK, if it's so great, then why didn't I give it five stars? Because the fifth star is reserved for the Weber Grill itself. It'd be like giving a Best Actor Oscar to a supporting player.

WARMING RACK EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS
I am very happy with the kettle warming rack. It serves the needs of our family very well. Of course it "comes into it's own" when we have guests over to grill burgers or steaks, but the main reason I got the warming rack was becuase my wife likes her meat well done and I like mine medium rare! A Hose New Valve
Frankly, I don't think that this test tube rack holds much more than the competitor's and its a bit clankly so you can really mess up the results of that Filabas test. Overall, it isnt that good and on top of that, it rusts with repeated water contact.

Useful, but there are probably better
I bought this rack to use in the Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker. Though it is useful, the rack is a bit flimsy. I would rather have one with a more solid feel - the wire is not that thick. Also, the gaps for the racks are a bit small. I often have trouble pulling baby back ribs out of one or more of them, and sometimes the ribs touch each other (not a functional problem, but visually the ribs don't look as good - touching the meat together makes it look spotty in those places). It is functional and is relatively straightforward to clean up. But I would hunt around and find one that has a more solid feel.

Actually holds up ribs and other cuts of meat
You'll be shocked to discover this metal object will indeed support ribs and other cuts of meats. Seriously, it does allow you to smoke meat over a larger surface area, and also adds distance from the coals to get more even heating. Any serious cue-head ought to have this, or something like it.

These must-have items are tough to clean sometimes
The rib racks are sturdy and practical. They are quite handy for stacking food to make the most of grilling space. I use them for ribs, chicken, lamb, portobello mushrooms...
I have two which I use often. On the grill, they don't get too messy. However, on the smoker, they can get pretty caked up. When this happens, you have to be pretty persistent to rub off all the bits in the curved areas. Soak them, and keep a brush and/or a copper scrubbing pad handy.

Increase the capacity of your BBQ cooker
It seems like you can never cook enough barbecued ribs to satisfy family and friends. With the help of a Weber rib rack, you can squeeze a few more slabs into your cooker to keep everyone happy.

This is a pretty standard unit, but well made in typical Weber fashion. The nickel-plated finish makes for easy cleanup. I'd like to see a larger capacity model, but you can always buy two of these if you have room for them in your cooker.

Works great with ribs, but less so with chicken, at least in my experience. Uncooked chicken halves slide in easily, but may become stuck in the slot once cooked.

One tip: this unit holds four slabs of ribs, but if you're careful you can lean a fifth slab up against the front of the rib rack. ... Read more

Is there anything better than stainless steel?
Goes without say that cooking on stainless steel is great for non-stick, easy cleaning and no special maintenance unlike the cast-iron grates which needs to be seasoned. So if your like me who just want to go to the grill and turn it on and throw some meat on it, the Stainless steel grates is what you are looking for. It's also very light if you want to bring them in and clean them in your kitchen compare to the Porcelain and Cast Iron Grates. My only problem was that some of my bars on the grates have started to come apart at the weld. I've called Weber's customer service and they said they did have a problem with a batch and would replace my set.

The perfect cover for the Performer Grill
This is a very nice grill cover! It is well worth every penny. We live in a very windy area and I wasn't going spend money on a fancy cover that would get all ripped up in the wind. I was just going to buy a small tarp and tie it around the grill as well as possible, but now I'm glad I didn't. To begin with, the cover fits the grill so well I haven't had to tie it on at all - especially since it comes down so low and covers the legs. Second, the material is very heavy duty and will stand up to the beating the wind will give it much better that the tarp would have. So far, it has stood up to a foot of snow and 50 MPH winds and come out like a champ. Well worth the money I spent. I am very pleased.

Good value
I recently bought this cover for our grill. It's well made of what appears to be very durable material, and it fits the grill well. In addition to keeping the grill protected from the elements, the cover does an excellent job of keeping the rain from filling the ash-catching pot with water--a truly annoying problem for those of us who are too lazy/forgetful to empty the pot after using the grill.

High Quality Cover
This is a very good cover for the Weber Performer grill. It's very well made in a number of ways. It's a good thickness and made of a rubberized material so it's ready for heavy-duty weather. It stays flexible and doesn't crack in the cold (we don't get very cold winters here in DC, but it seems to work below freezing). It's also well assembled and fits the grill perfectly. It even has a small mesh window over the kettle part of the grill...either so you can see what color your grill is or to let moisture out, you decide.

The only negative I have to report is that the cover smells a bit funny when you receive it (the rubber I think). Fortunately, the smell goes away after a few days.

Overall, I'd say this is an excellent cover at a good price. Initially I was hesitant to get this since I thought some of the cheaper covers I've seen around would be just fine. I'm glad I decided to get this one. I think it will last much longer than the other (thinner, less flexible) ones I've seen and the fit is much better which just looks better when the grill is sitting covered in the backyard.

Measurement of product
While this product is excellent it took me a long time to decide whether to purchase it. In the specifications, the length is listed twice as being 25-inches. This is incorrect.
The actual length is 22.5-inches, the length required for my Genesis Silver C Grill. I took the chance that the specs were wrong ... and I was right.

Stainless Steel Flavorizer Bars
The bars were represented to be 25 inches long. In fact they measured 22&9/16 inches long. The required length is 23&7/16 inches. In either case they won't fit. I am in process or returning.

Best Grill Cover I've Ever Owned
Finally - a grill cover that actually stays on the grill and protects it in the worst weather. The velcro straps keep it secure but it is very easy to remove when ready to use the grill. This has to be the 4th or 5th grill cover we've tried and it will be the last one we try. I would recommend this product to anyone investing iin a grill. Why not spend a couple bucks more so that your $400 grill doesn't rust out in two seasons!

Quality Cover
This is a quality heavy duty grill cover. When you pay good money for a Weber Grill you want it to stay looking good. Don't go buy one of those cheap Walmart covers for $10. It will not last and you will end up buying another one in a year or two. This cover wasnt cheap, but by the looks of it...it should last a long time.

Great Cover, dimensions listed aren't accurate
This is a very high quality grill cover. This was purchased to replace the original cover for my Platinum 1200 series Weber. The original cover lasted 5 1/2 years in a mixture of the blazing California San Joaquin Valley sun, and the frigid New Jersey winters. The new cover seems to be made of exactly the same quality of the original, so I am looking forward to another 5 years with the new cover.

Now about the dimensions, if you are ordering this for an older Weber or for another brand altogether, BEWARE THE DIMENSIONS LISTED! Amazon says that this cover will fit a grill up to 52" wide. Well, my grill is only 50" wide and this cover was substantially too small in width. I had to order the next size up.

Great Product
Received this rack last week and used it for the first time over the weekend. As promised, this is huge. I sprayed it with
Pam for ease in cleaning. We cooked a boneless roast pork
and used this rack. It was so moist! Clean-up was a breeze as well but as stated above I used Pam. This is a great gadget. Can't wait to try a turkey. 5 Stars!

Huge & very useful!
Not only is this holder very well constructed of very heavy gauge material, it's large enough and strong enough to hold a 20 lb or larger turkey without flexing or breaking.

Don't be fooled by the picture because it's a large 15.5 by 10.5 inches and 6 inches tall. It's something every BBQ chef should have although it would also be useful in an oven if a person wanted.

Very Versatile
We not only use this for roasts. We cradle chicken, turkey, and pork rolls for cooking also. We have been pleased so far. The nickel-plated steel rack cleans easily too.

Roast or Turkey?
This may be called a roast holder but you've missed out until you have used one to cook a turkey. You can cook up to a 14 lb. turkey easily in a 22-1/2 inch grill using this rack. I cooked my first turkey in a Weber 21 years ago and have cooked at least two every year since. There is no comparison if you want a moist tasty turkey. My family would mutiny if I tried to cook a turkey any other way and my wife loves to have her oven available to fix the rest of the holiday dinner. Maybe one day I'll try cook a roast but I wouldn't trade this rack for any other way to cook a turkey. ... Read more
