A great gadget for the seriously climate minded, thiscable-free station from Oregon Scientific tracks weather patterns and keepsabsolutely punctual time. The primary station takes measurements fromits immediate surroundings and also communicates with the remotesensor, which can be mounted outdoors up to 100 feet away. A large LCDscreen shows temperature, humidity, and comfort level for bothlocations. It also depicts weather forecasts in kinetic-movementgraphics and tracks overall trends in recent readings. Weather station review
Have had this weather station and the anemometer for about 10 months, bought in Feb 03. It has performed exceptionally well. One of the sensors was transmitting but not reading directly. I returned it and a new unit was promptly sent. A nice feature is the memory unit that stores data, allowing you to see highs and lows for a preceding period. When used with the anemometer, it tracks the highest wind gust recorded to date. A nice unit at a reasonable price. I have experiance with using professional weather instruments, and this unit provides excellent data at a reasonable price. The wireless feature is great, no cable to string.

Great design, lousy measurement
This thermometer/hygrometer is highly usable, with great base/remote reception, easy setup, and nice ergonomics. Unfortunately, the important bit, i.e.- the actual MEASUREMENT of temperature and humidity, is complete nonsense. I sat the base station and remote monitor right next to each other for a couple of hours, changed the RF channels, changed the monitor position/orientations, and they never even vaguely reflected the same temp/humidity - there was always at least a 5 degrees (F) and 5 percentage points of humidity differential, although they should be pretty much identical! I followed the owner's manual recommendations for synching them more frequently, and it made zero difference. Even worse, when you put the monitors outside and let them sit out there for an hour or so, they are still WAY off in their measurements of temp and humidity versus Accuweather, NWS, and Weather.com. In my measurements at home on my 12th-floor balcony, a mile from midtown Manhattan, both the base monitor and remote were always at least 8 degrees (too high) and ten percentage points of humidity (too low) off from the consensus reading from the presumable "reference" data compiled by numerous high-end, science-grade weather stations. Ironically, my $10 oven thermometer I just bought for Thanksgiving is pretty much dead-on with the reference temperature measurements, while this so-called "weather station" averages almost 10 degrees off and 15 humidity points off!! If Amazon wants to be a responsible retailer, it should stop selling this thing until Oregon Scientific works out the bugs. I'm not some weather nutjob - I just wanted this gizmo to measure humidity in my baby's nursery during the dry winter months, but I was very disappointed. I think I'll stick with the old school, analog "piles of dials" approach.

right on......
Have been pleased as punch with this instrument. The baramometer is accurate once adjusted to elevation in meters. The remote guage works well outside in the weather. You can measure four seperate temps with the addition of three more remotes. The clock will sync after a few days. I love this thing.......

cool tool, shoddy product, lousy support
I purchased this as a x-mas gift for my busband. We both thought it was pretty cool and useful. . BUT within 6 months the remote sensor stopped working (it was telling us that it was 138 degrees F). Silly me I figured that something at this price point would still be covered under warantee. Not so. OSI is saying we need to buy another remote sensor. IF we do purchase it, then it will be the last things we ever buy of OSI products.

My suggestion. . save your money or buy someone else's!

A very attractive housing. Once set to my altitude it has been right on concerning the barameter. I have no problem with the unit. I hang it on the wall and measure the outside and inside and plan to order two more remote sensors for up and down stairs.......... ... Read more

A New Outdoor Space
An unused outdoor patio was transformed by the addition of the Oxford Chadwick Armchairs and other coordinating Oxford pieces. I had initially wanted to purchase teak furniture but after visiting several garden stores and searching on-line I was discouraged by the high price. One of the garden stores suggested shorea as an alternative, sighting the similar qualities to teak less the high price. Remembering an insert in the Sunday paper I search Amazon.com plus several other sites. I choose to make my purchase from Amazon.com because of their reputation and also I could not find a better price anywhere!

The pieces arrived and were very easy to assemble. The quality is as good as any of the higher priced garden stores. My once unused space is now furnished better that some indoor rooms of my house!

I was so pleased I told a friend who purchased a table and 4 matching chairs!

Quality and Style -- Take it from a Wood Worker
I was surprised and pleased to receive the four Chadwick Collection Oxford Garden Designs armchairs I ordered only three days earlier. As a wood worker myself, I was amazed at the quality of construction, elegance of design and sturdiness of the assembled chairs. While the first chair took about fifteen minutes to assemble while reading instructions, the remaining three took only about five each. More importantly, the shorea wood came very close to matching the teak wood table I also bought (just a shade more red and with a bit less distinctive wood grain), thereby saving me about half the price of teak chairs. Moreover, the shorea wood chairs are noticably more substantial in weight and therefore would seem more durable. The only negative with the chairs was some small glue spots which became apparent with dampness. About ten minutes of light hand sanding corrected the problem for all four chairs. I couldn't be more delighted with the quality and workmanship of the chairs and have considered taking off the metal labels to encourage friends to think I made them!

Pleased, but...
I spent an hour today putting together two of the Oxford Garden Desighns Chadwick Collection armchairs, plus the rectangular dining table. They were really easy to put together - so easy, in fact, that I'm a bit worried that they won't hold up. They are very attractive, however, so I have my fingers crossed. In all seriousness, they do seem at least as well put together as what I found in stores (and for much less money). The only drawback is that imperfections in some of the wood pieces, which I understand are normal, can't be easily dealt with (or swapped out), as would presumably be the case if I'd bought these locally. ... WOW..now that is sturdy!
These chairs, I bought 4, have the wieght that Adirondack Chairs SHOULD have! They are very heavy - so I am sure they will not ever blow away. The wood has a wonderful grain and smooth finish...best to teak oil them and then they'll look like a million bucks for a LONG time. The construction is tight and sturdy with durable bolts.... the assembly is a bit of a pain in the neck (it always is) BUT you will have them for a life so well worth the effort considering the quality and great price. Good sitting and proportion.

Easy Assembly
I couldn't believe how easy it is to assemble this chair. All the pre-drill holes lined up nicely and the 14 screws goes in easily. I was able to assemble the entire chair in less than 5 minutes. Even faster than assembling a bookshelf.

Since it been raining outside, haven't had a chance to try it outdoor. But as a temperary indoor chair, it is quite relaxing sitting on it to watch tv.

Chair designs come and go; this one endures
This chair will endure in more than one way; it's made of a very sturdy and durable wood (shorea.) With the judicious application of teak oil, the chair can weather anything (well, nearly anything. I'll be putting ours down in the cellar away from the snow.)

The style is classic, the arms wide, good for holding a cool drink as you enjoy a summer evening. And they look nice with teak benches. What's not to like? ... Read more
