This simple to use chimney style starter quickly lights enough lump or briquette charcoal to fill your 22 1/2 inch weber grill WITHOUT LIGHTER FLUID!! Lighting is easy. Simply add charcoal to rim of chimney, place parafin lighters or newspaper in the bottom. Light newspaper or parrafin lighters and place on charcoal grate in grill. In 20-30 minutes you will have orange hot smokin' charcoal. This is also a must for cooking things with very long cooking times such as turkeys or roasts. About 30 minutes before adding additional charcoal, use this puppy to light your coals, and then add to the fire as needed. As I mentioned earlier, I reccomend using this in conjunction with the Weber parrafin charcoal lighters. On windy days they are easier to use than newspaper. Once you use this you will never go back to using lighter fluid again. A must have for anyone who owns a charcoal grill.
I gave it a shot, and found that I would never use a gas grill, nor would I use lighter fluid again. The flavor obtained from grilling on pure charcoal is uncompromised. A few weeks ago, this came up on my gold box list, and my current one would obviously die this summer, so I went for it. Let me tell you that this is by far, the LARGEST charcoal starter I've ever seen. The previous 4 or 5 have been exactly the same diameter (about 6"). This item is 7.5". For those of you who know geometry, that is 56% more volume. At first, that scared me because I thought I'd have trouble lighting a shallow basket of coals. To my surprise, they light perfectly. Furthermore, when I make those small Turkeys and larger fare in my Weber, I only need to make one batch of coal. I cannot comment on durability yet, but it does seem so. My starters have always resided outdoors year-round, and typically last 3 years. If you cook with charcoal, you need one of these. This is a fine value.
...OR... Just spend the very reasonable about of money and buy this product! No rolling the paper JUST right - just wad it up and stick it in the bottom. No concern with keeping the air holes uncovered - a grill inside holds the charcoal. Put the Vise-Grips back in the tool box - this has nice handles. And don't worry about mixing the charcoal - it all lights up evenly. When I first opened the box, I thought, "Wow! This thing is huge!" Made my two coffee cans seem small, but it is supposed to light a grill-full of charcoal at once. I got the Weber because with all of my research on grills and accessories, Weber products are always recommended above all others. This item seems well-built, and I expect it to last a very long time. After using my homemade charcoal chimneys, which I got pretty good at, I was ASTOUNDED at how quickly this lighted, how quickly it got the charcoal up to temperature, and amazed at the orange inferno it created! I've been around charcoal grills my whole life (but don't have one myself. Yet. I got this for Dutch oven cooking.) and have never seen a charcoal chimney! I've seen people nearly kill themselves with charcoal starter and ate plenty of charcoal-starter burgers. I don't know why everyone with a charcoal grill doesn't use one of these. Get rid of storing the starter in your home and transporting it in your car. Get rid of the explosion when you light your grill. Get rid of the starter by-products in your food. Do get this charcoal chimney and get the most easily-lit, most consistently-burning charcoal you can.
Probably the best charcoal starter for the price on the market. ... Read more

Not bad for the price
This is not bad for the price, compared to others in its category. Not as nice as teak, but for $99 it is a good deal.Warning, it is a bit shorter than most average loungers. My cushions from Pottery Barn were way too long for it.When you get it, apply teak oil to it right away.It gets dry quickly.
Good price - a few quirks
This item couldn't be priced better, and for the money, it's a decent chair. The wood is very pretty and of seemingly good quality. The assembly is minimal and simple ... that is, if you recieve all of the bolts.I, unfortunately, did not and am forced to make a pilgrimage to Lowes to find something comparable.I may call the (not toll free!) Strathwood number to see if they will send replacement parts, but I suspect that will take nothing short of a lifetime to recieve.
After shopping for chaises, though, the price on this chair can't be beat. And with free shipping and minimal assembly, it is worth it.A word to the wise though ... "usually ships in 24 hours" means you will probably recieve it two weeks later.
Excellent value, classic style
These are great. Excellent value and classic style. I don't understand why one reviewer said they are not sturdy. Nothing could be further from the truth. These are heavy and sturdy and stand up to the weight of even large men! I would buy these again. Highly recommend.
You get what you pay for!
These are cheap for a reason. The good points are that they can be put together in about 15 minutes. They look nice on the patio. The bad point is I had to sand someof the wood.I got a splinter putting it together. The wood isn't a heavy guage wood.Don't let the kids jump on it, you will crack it.
All being equal, for $98 its worth it.You get a average to below average lounge chair for a slightly below average price. If anything happens to it, OH WEll, I won't feel bad about tossing it.

What I tell anyone I know that just purchased a Weber grill is "You just payed $$$ for your grill, spend alittle more for the cover."
If you have shelled out the funds for one of the large Genesis models, it just makes sense to protect the investment. Unless you keep your grill in a garage or storage shed, you have to have it. (Why Weber doesn't include this with the grill is for them to answer; it really is that essential.)

The cast iron grilling surface makes those great searing marks and lets the food cook evenly. The regulator on this grill really allows you to adjust the size of the flame (unlike cheaper grills). The drip pan is also great and replacements can be purchased at local hardware stores. We use this grill with our RV and it is the perfect size for our family of 3. I don't see how we could use the full size Weber Q --- the baby Q is more than large enough for us. Kudos to Weber!
P.S. - I DID finally find a 14.1 propane canister at Lowes. They are kept with the other fuels used for torches and welding equiptment in the hardware isle. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review As with all Weber grills, this kettle's lid and bowl are constructed of premium porcelain-enameled steel--which means not only does heat radiate evenly, but the grill will survive if it's left out in the rain. The cooking surface (22-1/2 inches in diameter) is big enough to accommodate six large steaks, twice as many burgers, or up to a dozen kebabs, and the grill's classic kettle shape keeps flare-ups to a minimum. When designing this grill, Weber clearly kept convenience in mind. The grill's nickel-plated grate has two built-in hinged side openings that make adding more charcoal briquettes easy and safe, and, when the lid's not in use, it can hang from the bowl by a handy hook. The grill is durable, too. The porcelain-coated steel bowl and lid are exceptionally strong and designed never to rust, fade, or peel. The grill's aluminum vents and ash catcher won't rust either, and its tripod base, nylon handles, and all-weather wheels--besides being exceptionally sturdy--make the grill remarkably easy to maneuver. Weber's patented One-Touch cleaning system--a clever setup of lever-activated blades--sifts ash out of the kettle and into a cooking-pot-shaped ash catcher. You never have to get your hands dirty--and emptying the kettle takes only a few seconds. To top it all off, Weber throws in a 31-page owner's guide filled with cooking tips and time-tested recipes for grilling everything from pork chops to bratwurst to Cornish hens. Editor's Choice: We recommend Weber's One Touch Gold kettle grill to beginner grillers or to experienced grillers who swear by charcoal. While this grill includes the basics, such as the kettle shape for even heat, nylon handles, and all-weather wheels, it also offers upgrades such as the stainless steel One-Touch cleaning system with a removable ash catcher for added convenience. The triple nickel-plated hinged cooking grates and two charcoal fuel holders make adding briquettes for direct or indirect cooking quick and hassle-free. Features Reviews (6)
The ash-catcher is super, the one-touch vent system is a big improvement (no more knocking each vent with a trowel), the plastic handles stay cooler... you get the idea. Nothing dramatic, but good progress. But here's the clincher: setting one of these up (takes about 20 minutes, even if you make a mistake or two) just makes you feel like you're in heaven. It's summer embodied. People rhapsodize about the new car small... well, fughettaboutit. The look of a shiny new grill that you've assembled yourself is about as good as it gets. Highly recommended accessory: the charcoal companion. Put your lighter fluid (or your MatchLight) away and use this instead-- it works flawlessly, and it's better for the environment.
This baby would get five stars if Weber was still offering the cast iron grate upgrade for the kettles. It's been discontinued this year, but I hear some are still out there to be found. Even without cast iron, you can't go wrong with this as a charcoal grill, and being a Weber, it will last for years and you'll get great customer support if it is ever needed.

We're usually grilling just for the two of us and we wanted a gas grill for the convenience. The Q certainly fits the bill. It's great! I've cooked steaks, burgers, chicken, fish, pork chops, zucchini, onion slices -- well, you get the picture -- and they've all turned out perfectly. It gets plenty hot and heats very evenly. The side tables are a marvelous addition. I was concerned that they might get "icky" when you fold them into the Q, but they're designed so that only the tiny little points on the corners touch the grate. The cart is a worthwhile addition. It could be a bit sturdier, but it works well enough and the Q fits snugly on top of it and sort of "locks down" under some plastic tabs. I bought a 5' LP adapter hose for $10 at the local sporting goods store (look in the camp stove aisle) so I can hook it up to a 20# tank. My only complaint is that the cart instructions say DO NOT store a tank on the cart, so the tank has to sit beside the Q. I'd rather be able to store the tank on the bottom rack of the cart, but I guess Weber has its reasons for instructing you not to do so. All in all, a great purchase!
The Q is a good looking, stylish grill. Added to that are clever design features (folding trays, ultra-light composite shell), a high quality regulator, and a cast iron cooking grate that weighs more than the rest of the grill. Weber has also designed accessories that add to the functionality of the Q. Out of the box, assembly is a breeze. A useful Owner's Guide and a nice recipe card booklet are provided. I've cooked one meal so far. The food cooked evenly across the whole surface. Once it was preheated, the medium gas setting was plenty to keep the heat up. I was very impressed with how well it cooked. Also, don't be fooled by the thought of a portable grill being small -- the Q can handle a lot of food. I had 4 sausages and 12 large shrimp on it and there was plenty of room for more. As a longtime dedicated charcoal guy, I find that gas grilling just doesn't provide the same flavor. But the Q has won me over for quick, clean, and convenient weeknight cooking. The idea of being able to take it on the road adds to the value. It may even prove to be a handy double-burner for weekend barbecues. Thanks, Weber, for another great grill. (Update: I've now grilled potato planks, chicken breast, pork chops, pizza, polenta, pinwheel skirt steaks, garlic bread, eggplant, mushrooms, and beef skewers. All have turned out pefectly. Can't say enough about the cooking grate and evenness of cooking across the entire surface.)
This grill is very nice for a portable grill. It's got an attractive functional design which allows it to fold up when transporting it, or when its not in use. Although it doesn't generate as much heat as bigger grills, it does have enough power to cook about 5-7 large hamgburgers at once easily. The burner is basically a rectangular metal tube with tiny holes from which the flames emerge from. The burner itself rests below the grill about 7-8inches. This makes a hotspot that is about center, but slightly towards the cover's hinges. Around the center of the grill, there is ample space for indirect cooking, but if you plan on cooking a large pork roast, this still maybe a bit small. Still, for most other things like hamburgers, chicken legs, ribs, and hot dogs; the Weber Q works very well. As far as taste goes, charcoal is still the best, but I would rather use a good gas grill like this one in favor of its easy clean up. The Weber Q's porcelain/cast iron grill can be easily removed and cleaned with soapy water and some good scrubbing. The drip pan is easily accessible as well as the bottom of the grill itself - where all the ash and drippings collect. This can be easily cleaned with some 409 cleaner and a scrubber. Typically it takes me about 15-20 minutes to clean my Weber Q after I finish using it. And best of all, I can do it all in my small kitchen, without having to go downstairs to the shared water hose. The Weber Q uses 14.1 ounce Propane gas canisters. These last about 1.5 hours, so I would recommend at least 3 for a weekend bar-b-que. These cansisters can be easily screwed into place, and held by a fitted metal ring. I should point out that the Weber Q is made to work with the 14.1 ounce canisters because this metal ring is sized for them specifically. You could also buy an attachment that allows for the larger, more common propane tank to connect to it, but I think that would cut down on its portability. Also note that these canisters should not be disposed of like other trash. Typically, hardware stores like Orchard Supply are willing to dispose of them for you. In my case, I usually give them my used canisters when I go there to buy more. Perhaps the only real downside to this grill is that it does not come with a stand. You would be forced to kneel, or sqaut to get to your grill as a result. Weber does make a stand, but it costs another $25-30. So if you want to save yourself from some back pain, definitely get the stand. Of course, this brings the price of the grill to almost $200. And that's somewhat expensive for a portable grill. Still, I do like the ease with which the Weber Q folds up and how portable it is (the stand folds up as well). So if you have little space and want to grill decent amounts of food, I suggest checking this grill out. It's expensive, but it's a very good portable grill. ... Read more

The manufacturer's catalog that came in the box shows that their other products are children's toys that are built for punishment, yet no so dangerous that they'd crush a child. They've carried that same quality construction through to this little stool. The wheels are a little on the small side to carry my 230-lb body across a patch of healthy lawn with ease, but it wasn't so difficult that I would have to stand up and move it, either. I find it a tad inconvienent to reach under the seat to get to tools. There is a cup holder on the outside, but it's design is such that it isn't good for anything but cups or cans. The one thing I'd like to see here is some other sort of outside storage for tools instead of the cup holder. The all-weather plastic means you can leave it outside, but it's lightweight design means you can store it on an upper shelf, too. All in all, the solid, but lightweight construction makes this one a keeper.

Kidding. I was surprised at how BIG these tools are! They are gargantuan. They are at least 20" long, and they are very wide and very heavy. I could turn over a Volkswagen with the spatula! As others have written, I like the all-steel construction. This makes them easy to clean and keep sanitary. I have used all 3 types of trimmers, gas, 120 wired, and this cordless one and I have to say the convenience is great. Instant on with a press of the switch is great. The plastic is a bit cheap feeling but it seems to do the work. I think it could've been much better constructed, but the battery life is pretty impressive and the speed/torque of the trimmer is also pretty impressive on a well grown/groomed lawn. It did have a bit of trouble instantly tackling a thick busy section of grass but after going over it 2-3 passes...it took care of it. This same spot has given me trouble even with the corded 120 volt version from Toro so this was expected. The gas one I had chewed through it easily but that's gas... I think for light to moderate work, it's fine. If you have thorny and thick undergrowth or even small plants with a fibrous stem, it'll take more work to get down than a gas. Oh..if you even TRY to 'bump and feed' this unit, you will find the spool falls off VERY easily with a solid thump to the bottom (THAT was a pain in the as* as it flew off and unwound a ton of filament that I had to rewind by hand and figure out how to put it back on! If you have 18 volt black and decker goods like I do, then you'll REALLY like having the two extra batteries and one extra charger. I have 4 batteries and 2 chargers amongst all the goodies now so I know i'll always have more than enough juice for anything around the house. I would vote 5 stars, but the plastic has a cheapy feel.

This unit is made to Weber standard, so you know it's well built. Heavy enamel coating that will last a life-time. The effeciency of the cooker is unbelievable. I've done 15 hour cooks without adding any extra fuel. This is the first smoker (of any type) that I've used that I didn't have to baby sit. Most smokers need almost constant attention in order to maintain proper temp. Not the Weber. It needs virtually no adjustments to keep a steady smoking temperature for hours and hours. You can easily do overnight cooks and sleep easy as the Weber does it's magic.
The results have been fantastic!! I have used the noted web site to learn about techniques to extend the cooking period without having to add charcoal and the rib recipe (The Best Ribs in the Universe) is out of this world! Smoked Turkey, smoked chicken, smoked salmon and smoked almonds have all been easy to prepare and the results outstanding. I easily designed and constructed a side simple shelf (from two shelf brackets, a 10"x12" piece of oak, and a 1/8"x1" by 30" piece of steel straping available at Home Depot) that can be temporarily attached to the cooking section for use during any smoking session and easily removed so that you can then place the cover on the smoker for storage. You will not be disappointed with the results of you efforts with this smoker!

I got mine as a wedding present, and I've already gotten a lot of quality use out of it. Most of the tools are long handled to give you good clearance from the heat, and the spatula is not only wide enough for the Big Burgers but it also has a sharpened edge to allow you to check "doneness" without having to reach for another tool. The fork, knife, tongs, and basting brush are also well designed for their purposes and the Four "kebob" skewers are made out of solid, polished metal so the food slides right off. The eight corn picks are a nice touch, as are the salt and pepper set (they arrive empty, so fill them with the spice/rub of your choice), and for after-grill cleanup there's a nice and solid grill brush with spare head. Everything fits securely in its own place either with elastic straps or with velcro attachments, so nothing clatters around when you move it from your kitchen, to your deck, to your tailgate party, to your...well, you get the idea. *grin*

The hold-closed latch is easy and well-placed (though it is easy to pop it unlatched if you stuff the clippers in your back pocket), the grip width is adjustable with a set screw (so small hands don't have to suffer), and the blade spread is admirable for a hand-held pruner (though adjusting the grip width does take a little off the blade spread too). The spring and other critical mechanical components are well shielded, so you won't be gumming them up with debris easily. It cuts through the rose pruning like butter and even gets through thick woody dead stuff with only a little effort. The rotating handle makes a huge difference in the comfort level, especially when cutting the the thick woody stuff. They say buy the best you can afford, and these certainly seemed like the best option to me, and they weren't even that expensive. Certainly better to buy one pair of good pruners instead of three bad ones.
Well, it does work as advertised; the finger abrasion is reduced and it requires less effort to cut a given branch with these compared to my trusty Felco pruners. BUT, two problems arose for me. First, due to the size of these pruners and the Powergear technology, the lever rotates my fingertips smack against my palm, and if I'm cutting a large branch with some serious squeezing, it does it hard enough to hurt! I do have fairly big hands, but I'm not Shaq. It is a serious annoyance for me. And second, it is not nearly as rugged as my Felco. It just isn't strong enough to cut larger woody branches that do fit between the blades and the Felco handles without strain. The cutting blade flexes and so the bypass cut doesn't happen and you have a partially cut branch with the pruners stuck in it. I do like their precise feel for light to medium work, where I'm not squeezing hard enough to have either of the above problems. But I'd like to see Fiskars make a larger, heavier duty version of this technology. (I know they make a Powergear mini-lopper; I'd like to see a 20% bigger and heavier duty pruner) Conclusion; if your hands aren't large and you don't intend to do heavy duty pruning, these are quite slick.
I gave the new pruner a tough initiation by trimming some low redwood branches, and even though a few were a tad larger than the rated 3/4" -the tool bit right through them all. The grip was so comfortable, it didn't even seem like work.

I really works. 1. Just to test things out I wheeled my grill to the far edge of my property then went down to my basement. I still got a full signal about 80 linear feet away through a brick wall and two thick plaster-lathe interior walls. 2. The monitor warns you when your food is within 5 degrees of your desired doneness so you have time to react.. 3. It really really cooked my steak medium rare. 4 Minor annoyance: It has handy preprogrammed settings for rare, medium rare, medium etc. for beef, veal and lamb. But it assumes you want hamburger, fish and poultry well done. In case you don't want these foods cooked that well you need to find an appropriate temperature setting from one of the other foods. For example If you need to turn a turkey and want to be warned when it raches 145 degrees you'd need to set the monitor for beef and medium rare, which happens to be 145 degrees. Would have been nice if it had the option to directly set the monitor for a specific temperature. Still this thing is absolutely great. Just what I always wished I had. ... Read more

Pros: Cons: So as a second clock and something neat to have, this is fine. Don't get it as your primary alarm clock if you want to make it to work on time and not get fired :-)
Another feature of this clock that is ideal for her is that the regular display is only lit when you want it to be lit. There are no glaring red numbers staring at you all night. When you want to see the time/temp, press the snooze button and the display lights for a few seconds. Now for the negatives of this great little gadget. It is very lightweight and the buttons sit smoothly at the bottom of the clock. It is difficult to tell one button from another or to even push the buttons to set the alarm, view, etc. Raised braille like nobs on the buttons would be helpful as well as making the base wider so it would be more difficult to knock it over. Also, if the clock is running off battery, you have the option of displaying the time on the ceiling only when you press the snooze button. However, if you use the A/C adapter, you're choices are continuous display or no display. The slide switch that controls this is on the side of the clock and is difficult to find by feel. Despite the few shortcomings of this clock, I still think it's wonderful and recommend it to anyone who is tired of squinting at glowing red dots to see what time it is; who wants to know the temperature both inside and out; and who always wants the correct time. ... It works great sucking up leaves. The pieces are generally chipped to perhaps half to 1 fingernail in size. As to how much it reduces the volume, I took a mostly dry slightly overfull wheelbarrow full of leaves - and it was reduced to a little less than half-full after running it thru the machine. So that's roughly a 2:1 reduction, not 16:1, as Toro advertises. It's good enough for my needs, in terms of composting. (Mulching the leaves adds an extra 40 degrees of heat to the composting process, in a compost tumbler, 160 vs. 120 degrees.) The blower works well too. The variable speed makes it easier to control where leaves go. I gathered leaves from one tree into a pile in 5 minutes, and vacuumed them up in another 10 minutes, filling (stuffing) one 39 gallon 'lawn & leaf bag' (so 2 bags worth, unshredded). I've also blown dirt, weeds, rocks, gravel and other crud off my driveway (2500 sq. feet) in a matter of ~10 minutes, which would take perhaps an hour to sweep by hand. And I suspect, and was told in correspondence with a well-known Consumer's magazine, that the magnesium impeller should last a lot longer than other models, which are typically made of plastic. That was my primary reason for buying it. We'll see on that score. So far, its holding up. Where Toro missed: Skimp # 2: the bag, the cord, and the handles seem backward to me. But then, I'm left handed, and most of the world seems backward to me. The vac is still quite useable, backward though it is, but Toro seems to have chosen to ignore 10% of the population that is left handed, which doesn't impress me. Skimp #3: in that it's electric, you're chained to a cord. The owner's manual says not to go over 150' in length, and to use 14 gauge for that distance. I happen to like 12 gauge cord for long distances, and that's what I own - and the 'cord lock' (a piece of plastic on the handle) is not big enough to handle 12 gauge cord. C'mon Toro! What's it cost to make it a smidgeon bigger to handle a larger size extension cord?? Skimp #4: in converting from blower to vac or the other way around, you have to omit certain pieces of equipment from the machine, both large and small. There's no place to store them, on the machine. So, I suspect they'll be either easy to lose or misplace. Or a pain to keep track of. It would be far nicer if the small pieces were storable, and Toro had figured out a way to make the large pieces in such a way so that they could be left on the machine at all times (e.g. the blower has a bottom cover that has to be removed so the vac has access to the impeller. Why not have a sliding door for that cover piece?) Skimp #5: the bag is tiny. It fills up in ~3 minutes, and that is 1/3 of a lawn and leaf bag. And your property involves how many lawn and leaf bags for you? i.e. A lot of stopping and emptying. One company's product, as I recall, has a set up where the vac empties in to a garbage can directly. Overall, it does what I want and need, and I'm happy. But it's not without its faults, and I expected better from a company of Toro's reputation.
