Amazon.com Review

With its three-way switch that can easily be changed from cool to warm to off, this thermoelectric unit keeps food and refreshments at the desired temperature. Its internal shelf separates heavy cans from snacks and is removable to accommodate larger bottles or food items. Consistent temperatures are easy to maintain--cold items such as drinks, sandwiches, and fruit stay cold; warm items such as coffee, tea, and soup stay warm. Measuring 11 by 13 by 9 inches, the compact unit can be used in such places as the home, office, or dorm room. It also has the versatile capability of being easy to use while traveling with its convenient carrying handle and the included car adapter. --Catie Unger ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice Unit
The unit is just fine, but is awfully hard on the elctrical system of a regular automobile. It will kill your battery in less than two hours (if your engine is not running). Other than for that it works just fine.

4-0 out of 5 stars An extra fridge
Have had it about 3 weeks so far and it works as expected. For indoor use, it may be almost too cold...some of my stuff was starting to freeze a little. Haven't tested the heating yet. New version supposedly has a thermostat which would be useful if using in wide temp ranges. Also, it takes a while to cool stuff that is at room temperature, so some planning is needed. Used it when I hosted a holiday party and it was nice to not have everyone going in the fridge or making a mess with ice/water. I expect it to really shine while on road trips. This unit seems to give much more bang for buck than the tiny 9 can units advertised. So far, I recommend it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Quality
I purchased this exact item from a Wal-Mart in Bend, Oregon and at first was overwhelmed with the products quality. I have had it for a year now and I have the problem with it either freezing its contents or not getting cold enough to keep the milk from going sour. I am trying to find out myself why it is being so picky.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT TRAVEL COOLER
This is the best ICELESS travel cooler around. No ice to deal with, but the optional 120v converter is an absolute must. Also, check on the internet/truck stops for a BATTERY SAVER when running in auto (shuts cooler off when battery reaches certain voltage, turns it back on after you start the car). I have used one of these for several years for hotel travel, shopping at the supermarket, or going long distances or multiple stores to keep cold stuff cold until I get it home. Great to throw some drinks in for yourself and family (better than paying $1.25-2.00 a drink in many places in the summer). PLUS, with the 120v adapter, take it right into the hotel room with all your cold food and drinks and save a lot of money on restaurant meals. Add a reasonable sized George Foreman Grill, you can make a quick meal in a snap while traveling. I have saved a LOT with it, and usually alway have one with me...WIRED a three-gang cigarette lighter in trunk direct from the battery with a battery-saver wired in-line and this is absolutely the most awesome....cooler stays in the trunk, always there for a cold drink while traveling around from place to place! You can't beat these....I remember the days of dumping and adding ice and the water mess....these are the greatest!

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Product (...)
I have been using this cooler for a couple of years now and it works well. I like to load it up the night before an outing, plug the cooler into the wall and then simply transfer it to the car the following morning. The only caveat is to make certain you select the proper setting otherwise your cold food will be warmed to about 125 degrees in a few hours. This cooler comes with a 12volt DC car adapter but [store] is selling the same cooler for [price] with a 12volt DC car adapter AND the AC converter for home use. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Coolers are usually large and unwieldy, which is why Koolatron developed the Compact Kooler, specially designed to fit in the snug spaces behind the seats of many cars, trucks, and vans. Like many of Koolatron's coolers, this unit features a 12-volt cooling system that plugs into a car's cigarette lighter. The cooler's motor blows cold air over your food and beverages, keeping them 40 degrees F cooler than the outside temperature. The cooler also doubles as a warmer, if you'd rather keep the contents toasty. Outside of the car or truck, the cooler is still versatile, with a swinging, foldaway handle for easy portage and a latchless lid that opens with one hand. Other handy features include a convenient cord wrap and a unique storage spot for the unplugged cigarette lighter. Despite the unit's compact size and weight (only 9 pounds), it can still hold up to 23 12-ounce soft drinks. --Rivers Janssen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Coleman maintains its cool
I've had this cooler for about six months. I find it to be a lot classier and better made than the plastic cooler it replaced. Despite what seems like a loose lid and flimsy latch, this cooler maintains it's cool in the heat, which is the primary reason I bought it. The lid is solidly hinged. I gave it five stars because it's a good deal for the money (I paid ~$85). Though someone complained that this cooler is not bear-proof, I have to ask whether there is such a thing. I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a reliable, good-looking cooler.

5-0 out of 5 stars classy and functional
We bought this to sit out on the porch when we have guests over (frees up space in the fridge), it's awesome!! Guests make comments about it all the time. Oh, and it keeps things cold too--definitely longer than a plastic cooler.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really keeps things cold for a long time
We bought one of these a year ago because 1) it was really stylush and 2) because my fiance believes that the steel coolers are better than the plastic ones. And she was totally right. Ice last a LONG time in the steel cooler. I'm sure a lot of it is due to the fact that it's silver and reflects the sun and heat.

We liked it so much, we got a second one and took it with us to the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert, where it was quite hot. The steel cooler performed great. My only slight complaint is mentioned in other reviews is that the latch is kind of wimpy. It's not gonna spill your stuff, but it can be forced open easily. I wish they sold a non child proof replacement latch.

Anyway, after a week in the desert, we STILL had a little block ice left in second cooler. Mind you we didnt' open this one as much, but I was shocked to find ice in it after a week in the black rock desert.

This cooler rocks. Give it an option for a non child proof latch and it would be unbeatable!

3-0 out of 5 stars not quite the cooler you grew up with
Since Im willing to pay for quality, I broke down and bought this cooler. My family had the larger green 60s model that we used for decades. Im on the verge of taking this back however, as the latch doesnt completely seal the lid to the body when fully closed. From the looks of another review here that may be intentional, in case a (very small) kid somehow climbs into this and gets himself locked in, but I dont have kids like this either. You wont notice the large disclaimer stamped into the body of your expensive stainless steel cooler warning of possible suffocation until you get it out of the box, but the fact that its there supports this theory . Might just have to return this and keep my eye on garage sales to get the original.

4-0 out of 5 stars The good and the bad on this "cool" cooler
The good is that the cooler works great. I've used the cooler 4 times camping in Big Sur, Anza Borrego Desert, Sequoia, and Big Sycammore Canyon and the cooler keeps the ice for 5-days as advertised. My friend has to keep buying ice every 2 days to fill his plastic Coleman and Igloo coolers because he's got nothing but water left. The cooler also looks great and has sturdy handles to carry the cooler. On the bad side, my 6-year old daughter opened the door too far back and partially ripped the hinges off the lid. The lid didn't come off, but you can see the insulation in the lid around the hinges. This happened the second time I used the cooler, so I'm bummed. I'm just a little surprised that the lid ripped so easily. Also, the latch does not hold the lid tight shut, but this does not appear to affect the performance of the cooler in terms of keeping ice for 5-days. I do recommend this cooler. It's "cool" in terms of looks and performance! ... Read more

Keep a fine merlot handy poolside with this wire wine caddy from the outdoor living and barbecue masterminds at Weber. The caddy attaches to the Weber Chill portable refrigerator for indoor and outdoor refreshment, keeping bottled beverages secure from spilling, yet easily accessible for serving.

Constructed in resilient, painted steel, the caddy fares well against all elements. For a chilled chardonnay, hang the caddy on the inside of the Chill unit. For quick access to drinks not habitually chilled, such as red wine or beverages served with ice, simply hang the caddy from the outside of the refrigerator. Two standard-size wine bottles fit inside the caddy. This product weighs 3 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars POOR PRODUCT
Thisis the most worthless product...very dissappointed...it never even attempted to get cool, much less 40 degrees...box is misleading

1-0 out of 5 stars not for prolonged use
I bought this mini fridge to place in our family room. My intentions being that we use it to keep drinks and snacks in it for the kids and husband. after the first 2 hours of plugging it in it stopped working. I guess a fuse blew in it or something- we returned it for refund. We were under the impression by the box title and advertisment that it was to plug in and use it forever. You can only use it a hour or so at a time-misleading instusctions and box.We did appreciate Target refunding with no problem. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Helpful Travel Cooler
This has been so helpful for us. We bought it three years ago when my daughter was nine months old, I was pregnant, and we were moving from Nebraska to Georgia. The coverter to use it in the hotels can be purchased at Target. I made sure I had that for food and formula. We have used in on many trips and really enjoy it now for drinks and sandwiches. It is nice not having soggy food.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good in the car, would like to use it in the hotel
I really liked it. It was convenient to use especially with a baby on board. But I cannot find where to buy the Ac/Dc converter so I can use it in the hotels too on long trips. It takes 2 hours to cool it down before starting out or pack the stuff with cold or frozen first. But sometimes from a hotel that is not possible on a long trip. So I would like to keep it cold through the night.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great cooler
Just returned from our Third vacation with this cooler. The first time out I would not have given this a very good review. But we learned. First off even a home refrigerator takes time to cool things. We now don't put in warm drinks and expect the cooler to cool the drinks. We start with cold drinks. Also packing the cooler you have to leave room for air movement. If you pack it too full, it won't work. We also found since we were on the road for 9 days the AC converter was a great addition. Ice packs also help out if you don't want to purchase the Charger. I like my cans of Coca Cola very cold,, this cooler did it for me. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific!
We used this for a 9 week trip around the Western United States with a 10 year old and it was great. I only wish we had had time to get the adapter that allows for plugging into a regular outlet. Since we didn't have that we often stayed at hotels with a frig but in a pinch we found that it stayed fairly cool if we kept it closed all night even without ice. We used it to keep sandwich meat and cheese, milk, water and fruit cold on our trip which allowed us to make most of our own meals. I would highly recommend this item. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good product, convenient size
I'm not going to claim that I've owned this product for years, but so far so good. It cools down from room temperature down to around 40 degrees relatively quickly, and is a convenient size for keeping all sorts of different things in. The nice thing about it is that it's small enough that it can fit anywhere, but it's not rediculously small like many other mini-fridges, so you can actually keep something other than just a few cans of soda in it. However, because of the cooling unit and all that, it's still rather heavy and you're not going to want to make it a complete replacement for a cooler when you're going on trips or anything like that. It's more like a nice thing to keep under your desk or in your car with a few cold drink in it, available when you want them.

1-0 out of 5 stars it was horrible
im only 14 so i thought it would be very cool of i just sat it on my desk so i could just grab a cold one any time i wanted!well thats the last time i ever tell myself that!It broke the first day!it just stopped when i was checking to see if it was cold or not!Yea some great deal!NOT!!thats the last time i ever buy any thing from this manuefactor!DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY*!!

1-0 out of 5 stars do not buy this product
this cooler is no good. i bought it two days ago and the thing is very noisy and it took forever to cool my soda pops that i put in it. it took more than 24 hours to cool to 44 degrees and when i opened it to get a soda, the cooler inside was sweating and the temperature rose to 57 degrees, the thing took another 18 hours just to cool down to 48 degrees. also, when i came home from work, it left an aweful smell in my room. i returned it back right away. save your money and do not buy this product...

3-0 out of 5 stars So far so good
Ok, I haven't used it a great deal yet but... I plugged it into household current and kept it running for 48 hours straight. I had it set for the coldest temp. Possible and put a temperature probe in it to verify it would keep my stuff as cold as it reads on the display. It pulled down to 43 degrees F in about 7 hours in a room at 72 to 76 degrees. It reads about 6 degrees lower than my gauge said with the probe sitting on that little removable shelf that is included with the cooler. It's got a neat light that is nice to use in complete darkness. I wish it had a little more room inside and a fan but I think it will do fine. There are two little shelves in the doors that can be taken out to allow for more room. It looks sharp and the fan is not loud. It's a little on the heavy side. My plans are to use it on those short vacations in a hotel room for some drinks and doggie bag left overs from restaurants. DON'T get rid of the ice cooler yet.

1-0 out of 5 stars BROKE AFTER A FEW DAYS
The size and price were right so I bought this for my personal office. When it worked it was an ok personal refrigerator, although it iced up alot. The temparature control never really worked very well either. Then the whole unit just stopped working, after only TWO weeks!! What a poor showing! Save your money and buy a quality product elsewhere! ... Read more
