Amazon.com Review With WAAS support, the Legend offers extremely accurate readings (rated to within two to three meters). (For more on WAAS, see the Frequently Asked Questions section.) A good-sized screen--288 x 160 pixels--makes it easy to see location details, and the Legend redraws maps quickly when zooming in or out of a position. Its 8 MB of memory means there is also plenty of room for waypoints, routes, and saved tracks. The Legend will hold up to 500 waypoints, complete with a name and graphical symbol, 20 routes with 50 waypoints each, and it contains slots for 10 saved tracks. You can also download maps from Garmin's MapSource CD-ROMs (thorough but expensive accessories for the GPS receiver) to see street-level or topographic detail (depending on the CD-ROM title). But one of the most striking attributes of the Legend is its comfortable and efficient design. While it rests easily in the palm of either hand, it's most suited for the left hand, where its handy click-stick can be manipulated with the thumb. The click-stick works like the pencil-eraser nubbin on laptop PCs and is handy for moving through screen icons and menus. It also works as a button when pressed down. The Legend is coated with a waterproof, rubberized plastic shell that grips nicely. Weighing in at only 5.3 ounces, it fits into a pocket or clips onto a belt loop, going almost unnoticed. The internal trip computer of the Legend provided a range of data about our hikes and drives, including current speed, average speed, trip distance, and time traveled (both moving and stopped). For those interested in checking out their foot pace and distance traveled, it's a handy GPS to have in hand. Our only major beef with the Legend is that the receiver sometimes seemed to grow weak. Even when it wasn't in WAAS mode (which can be tough to maintain a signal in), it dropped the signal from time to time. We even lost the signal once while walking along the streets of San Francisco--it seems that the medium-size buildings were enough to interfere with the reception. But this only happened on a few occasions. Most of the time the well-designed Legend was able to keep us in touch with up to 12 GPS satellites for a strong-enough read to maintain a tight handle on our location. --J. Curtis Pros: Features Reviews (91)
Pros: Cons: Overall, this GPS has gone beyond my expectations. If you do any significant traveling (esp. in N. America), then you will find this GPS vital.
Well a year later we decided to get backing to caching because of some friends so we went looking again for GPSr units and after looking nothing seems to have topped the Legend in the value section. I have read complaints about people losing sats but honestly from my previous experience, this only happened to us when the tree cover was almost completely blocked out the sky. I often used the unit indoors (near a window of course) and never had a problem using it in the car. There are a few items that I buy a second time around, the only one that comes to mind off hand was a FujiFilm FinePix 1300. I tend to like value and items that retain a resale value, and from experience, the Legend fits both of those categories. If you are looking for a sub $200 unit to Geocache with, this is the unit for you. With EasyGPS you can easily store and download Geocache waypoints to your Legend. Also I don't think anyone mentioned it, but the Legend has a ton of different waypoint icons you can use, it even has GeoCache and GeoCache Found icons. If I don't get the same results of the 2nd unit that I just ordered I will post it, but until then I am happy I stuck with the Legend.

We're usually grilling just for the two of us and we wanted a gas grill for the convenience. The Q certainly fits the bill. It's great! I've cooked steaks, burgers, chicken, fish, pork chops, zucchini, onion slices -- well, you get the picture -- and they've all turned out perfectly. It gets plenty hot and heats very evenly. The side tables are a marvelous addition. I was concerned that they might get "icky" when you fold them into the Q, but they're designed so that only the tiny little points on the corners touch the grate. The cart is a worthwhile addition. It could be a bit sturdier, but it works well enough and the Q fits snugly on top of it and sort of "locks down" under some plastic tabs. I bought a 5' LP adapter hose for $10 at the local sporting goods store (look in the camp stove aisle) so I can hook it up to a 20# tank. My only complaint is that the cart instructions say DO NOT store a tank on the cart, so the tank has to sit beside the Q. I'd rather be able to store the tank on the bottom rack of the cart, but I guess Weber has its reasons for instructing you not to do so. All in all, a great purchase!
The Q is a good looking, stylish grill. Added to that are clever design features (folding trays, ultra-light composite shell), a high quality regulator, and a cast iron cooking grate that weighs more than the rest of the grill. Weber has also designed accessories that add to the functionality of the Q. Out of the box, assembly is a breeze. A useful Owner's Guide and a nice recipe card booklet are provided. I've cooked one meal so far. The food cooked evenly across the whole surface. Once it was preheated, the medium gas setting was plenty to keep the heat up. I was very impressed with how well it cooked. Also, don't be fooled by the thought of a portable grill being small -- the Q can handle a lot of food. I had 4 sausages and 12 large shrimp on it and there was plenty of room for more. As a longtime dedicated charcoal guy, I find that gas grilling just doesn't provide the same flavor. But the Q has won me over for quick, clean, and convenient weeknight cooking. The idea of being able to take it on the road adds to the value. It may even prove to be a handy double-burner for weekend barbecues. Thanks, Weber, for another great grill. (Update: I've now grilled potato planks, chicken breast, pork chops, pizza, polenta, pinwheel skirt steaks, garlic bread, eggplant, mushrooms, and beef skewers. All have turned out pefectly. Can't say enough about the cooking grate and evenness of cooking across the entire surface.)
This grill is very nice for a portable grill. It's got an attractive functional design which allows it to fold up when transporting it, or when its not in use. Although it doesn't generate as much heat as bigger grills, it does have enough power to cook about 5-7 large hamgburgers at once easily. The burner is basically a rectangular metal tube with tiny holes from which the flames emerge from. The burner itself rests below the grill about 7-8inches. This makes a hotspot that is about center, but slightly towards the cover's hinges. Around the center of the grill, there is ample space for indirect cooking, but if you plan on cooking a large pork roast, this still maybe a bit small. Still, for most other things like hamburgers, chicken legs, ribs, and hot dogs; the Weber Q works very well. As far as taste goes, charcoal is still the best, but I would rather use a good gas grill like this one in favor of its easy clean up. The Weber Q's porcelain/cast iron grill can be easily removed and cleaned with soapy water and some good scrubbing. The drip pan is easily accessible as well as the bottom of the grill itself - where all the ash and drippings collect. This can be easily cleaned with some 409 cleaner and a scrubber. Typically it takes me about 15-20 minutes to clean my Weber Q after I finish using it. And best of all, I can do it all in my small kitchen, without having to go downstairs to the shared water hose. The Weber Q uses 14.1 ounce Propane gas canisters. These last about 1.5 hours, so I would recommend at least 3 for a weekend bar-b-que. These cansisters can be easily screwed into place, and held by a fitted metal ring. I should point out that the Weber Q is made to work with the 14.1 ounce canisters because this metal ring is sized for them specifically. You could also buy an attachment that allows for the larger, more common propane tank to connect to it, but I think that would cut down on its portability. Also note that these canisters should not be disposed of like other trash. Typically, hardware stores like Orchard Supply are willing to dispose of them for you. In my case, I usually give them my used canisters when I go there to buy more. Perhaps the only real downside to this grill is that it does not come with a stand. You would be forced to kneel, or sqaut to get to your grill as a result. Weber does make a stand, but it costs another $25-30. So if you want to save yourself from some back pain, definitely get the stand. Of course, this brings the price of the grill to almost $200. And that's somewhat expensive for a portable grill. Still, I do like the ease with which the Weber Q folds up and how portable it is (the stand folds up as well). So if you have little space and want to grill decent amounts of food, I suggest checking this grill out. It's expensive, but it's a very good portable grill. ... Read more

The hammock that Amazon basically gave away with the combo is not the best hammock you can buy (I mostly use my own) but you can't really argue with free. It is a almost too short for my 6' height and the ropes are quite a bit thicker than the hammock I had previously (and still mostly use). I take this hammock with me on picnics and such and figure it's disposable if it gets damaged while on the road. I am not a small person, 6' 270 lbs., and I do have the hammock in the highest position using the chains, but I have had no problems with the stand or the hammock. Two good sized people and a child have used the hammock with no problems (still under the stated 500 lb. limit). Because of the simplicity of design and the easy breakdown and setup I have taken the hammock to picnics and parties in my trunk (I do have to fold the back seat down to fit the long pieces). My only wish were that the pipe ends had some kind of rubber seal, or maybe a locking pin, that would make it a little easier for one person to move the stand around when mowing (it comes apart easily if you try to pull on one end, but never while using it). If you have two people carefully moving it there is no problem, with one person you have to walk it back and forth.

I expected some fairly cheap manufacture and inflated [pardon the pun] claims about its useabilty.Well, I was surprised. The unit is very well made. They've got that down. The seams are sturdy, the material is thick, and the pump and valve are first-rate.What more could you ask? I'm now a fan of the bed.I'd recommend it.Aero also sells a bunch of accessories on their website such as collapsible bed stands to get the inflatable mattress off the floor; inflatable pillows, etc. I think you'll be pleased that it's not cheaply made.I was. ... Amazon.com Review You can lock the lid into place with the pivoting legs and carry this lightweight grill around in one hand. Built-in lid hangers allow you to rest the lid on the side of the grill to create an effective barrier against the wind. The triple-nickel-coated steel grate is easy to clean, and the porcelain-enameled steel lid and cooking box are built to last. Features Reviews (40)
The piezzo lighter flaked out on my Weber a couple of months after I bought it but it's pretty easy to light with a match. As another review mentioned, they do rust pretty quickly but they're really sturdy and basic. It grills as well as it did when I first bought it. Strongly recommended for folks looking for a small, no-nonsense (or frills) gas BBQ.
The food itself cooks well and has a nice flavoring. Dogs, burgers and ribs have all come out very well using this grill. There is enough surface area to feed about 3 adults on average. My only complaint would be that the gas starter button is a little flimsy; you need to be careful when starting it. But this is a great product and I love using it.
Fast forward nine years later, where $50 doesn't seem like a huge sum of cash anymore. Based on some reviews here, I ordered it up. I have cooked ten meals on it - pork, chicken, burgers, fish tonight. It cooks better than ANY grill I have used before, full-size or not. It gets pretty hot, for one. The drip pan over the pro-style burner tube vaporizes all of the fallen juices, smoking things up real good and giving food a great flavor. You just have to let it crank for 10 minutes on high to get up to temp, then adjust the temp to your liking. You can tell out of the box the difference Weber makes in grill making. It is heavier than you would think. The burner tube is a full length unit, covering the enetire cooking area. The regulator is even better than on the portable grills you find at K Mart. The drip pan replaces those terrible, smoky, greasy lava rocks. The ignitor is a nice touch. Some keys to good grilling though - always, always keep the lid on. Don't poke your food - lets all the juices out! Only cons to this unit -- the disposable propane tanks get expensive, and this grill goes through them pretty quickly (if you use the grill every day, of course). And lastly, the right side of the unit cooks ever so slightly cooler then the rest of the unit (good for veggies, etc). Best portable anywhere!

Most days, I actually want to drink some of my coffee before the day has passed and the thermos works well for that too. I make a pot (7 cups will fit) in the morning, rinse the bottle out with very hot water, and I drink my coffee throughout the day. It is very hot for most of the day, into the evening. If a cup or two remain at the end of the day, they will not stay hot into the next morning. It only works for more then a day, if you leave it completely full, and don't open it until you want to drink it. The bottle is well made. I've had it for almost 6 months now and use it every day. I even use it on weekends so I can turn my coffee pot off. It keeps the coffee fresher and just as hot as leaving it on the heating burner. I only recommend this thermos (or any stainless steel bottle) for black coffee, tea, or hot water. Add your cream and sugar or whatever afterwords. Vacuum bottles are not dishwasher safe and it is dangerous to put food stuffs in it because you won't be able to get it completely clean. Coffee and tea can be rinsed out without a problem. Summary. Keeps fluids hot for up to 8 hours of normal use. Up to 48 hours of full quantity storage. Very durable and drip proof. Not dishwasher safe, and should not be used with soup, cream, milk, or sugar. Conclusion. Is day old coffee still "day old" if it is still piping hot?
Kudos to Nissan for an exceptional product! ... Read more

Be aware though that it's definitely not a good choice if you're doing a lot of grilling in one place -- it never quite gets hot enough to work well as a primary grill, even if you leave the cover on and let it preheat before adding your meat. Any wind at all strips the heat right out of it, even with the lid on. Make sure you stock up on the little gas cylinders or get the tank adapter -- nothing worse than running out of fuel in the middle of a batch of food.
Even though this is designed to be a travel grill (with folding legs that secure the cover in place), I use it as my primary grill. I like to grill at all times of the year so I leave it on the patio all year round and sometimes have to dig through a snowdrift to find it. I'm surprised it hasn't rusted out yet since it has been sitting outside for more than five years. The wood parts are weathered, but still no sign of metal corrosion. When this one eventually goes I'll probably get small round Weber since I really don't need the travel feature.

If you have electricity, use an electric heater. Don't bother with the hassel of propane. The cost isn't too different and the hassel factor is much higher than electricity. I also don't recommend using the small canisters. That's an inconvinient way to go as well. BUT. If you don't have power and need a cheap, safe heat source that you can run while you sleep, this is the best one made. Buy the 12' hose, place a 20lb propane tank outside, and run this heater all night with just a small crack in a window or door (just in case!). You will get > 100 hours of heat out of a tank of propane! Less than a buck to run it all night. Highly recommended under the right circumstances.
I'm posting this merely to point out the inaccuracies and potentially DANGEROUS information in the poster who states that propane does not produce CO (Carbon Monoxide). Visit this site and you'll get plenty of information about this: http://www.carbonmonoxidedeaths.com . Like all fuels, propane gas requires oxygen to burn completely. Appliance malfunctions, vent system blockage and improper installation will reduce the oxygen supply. When this happens, the fuel will not burn properly, releasing CO into the room, and long term exposure can lead to CO poisoning. A bigger problem here is that in an enclosed area, the propane heater can consume oxygen. In an oxygen-starved room, the propane will continue to burn, and WILL produce carbon monoxide. This manufacturer was smart enough to include an oxygen sensor to avoid this dangerous situation. In fact, this manufacturer is a FOUNDING MEMBER of a Coalition for Portable Radiant Heater Safety. You will find very few portable heaters that are rated for indoor use today. This is one of them and you should be able to use this safely.

It really does do a great job of cooking, as good as the larger Webers, just for a smaller crowd. We had a Mulberry tree trimmed in our yard and I saved all the chipped up wood to use for smoke flavoring. You still need a charcoal fire for heat; just throw in a handful of chips before you put the meat & corn on the cob in and close the top vent down to make it smoke. Mmmmm, Mmmmm! You can eat like a gourmet anywhere you tote this to! Just add a cooler full of longnecks.....
This one exceeded my expectations and allowed us to cook in the outdoors. Thanks Weber!

It is comparable to a typical light that uses 2 C-cell batteries, but a smoother beam without black spots. A set of 4 AA batteries lasts for the better part of a week, as opposed to the old piece of garbage light you keep in the closet that only goes for about half of a day on 2 C batteries. If you live in an area where you can lose power for almost a whole day (or occassionally several days in a bad storm), this is a flashlight that you can actually use. Leave it on in the middle of the room until the power comes back so you don't trip on anything. They also make a model that uses C-cells, has 10 LEDs instead of 7, and lasts twice as long.

I'm a little concerned about the fact that it's made of cotton rope; I think nylon rope would be much more durable and weather-resistant. Still, it's not a bad hammock for the price (free with the purchase of the stand), and it is dangerously comfy. Practically every time I lie down on it, intending to spend some time with a book, I end up taking a nap. D'oh! I'm going to Scotchguard it and probably still take it in when the weather gets icky. We'll see how long it lasts; I won't feel ripped off if I end up buying a better hammock next year.
We found the hammock to be well-constructed. It is everything the product description says it is. Somethimes it's hard to judge what a product will be like in "real life" when just a picture is available. However, the description and the product are exact matches. Go for it! You'll have a great time!

As far as safety, if you install it correctly you have nothing to worry about; yes, it will hold two people at once. :-) You'll need to buy a length of chain at the hardware store -- ask for 3/16" link, 750-lb test, and get one or two S-hooks that fit through a link. The chair itself is rated to support up to 500 lbs. Finally, a 2" x 4" ceiling joist will support 450 lbs over a 10-foot span before it begins to bow or buckle. Recommended . . . enjoy!
