Great grill!
I bought this as an addition to our propane grill and our charcoal grill, for days when the weather doesn't cooperate or when I just don't feel like messing with lighting the others.So far, we've had burgers and fish prepared on the George Foreman grill and I love it!Everything cooks quickly, evenly and tastes great.I think I will be using this much more than I use the other two grills.I think I will try bacon on it some Saturday morning.What could be better than frying bacon outside, where it can't splatter all over the kitchen and most of the grease will run off and be collected in the little pan?! I also plan on using it on low to keep cooked food warm for a party we are hosting soon.This is a very versatile appliance that can be stored outside on the porch.Woo-hoo!

Great for an ELECTRIC grill
Before I get into this review, we have to understand the product we are looking at: a George Foreman ELECTRIC grill. George Foreman products are essentially useful variations of hotplates. In this case, the hot plate takes the form of a grill (with a stand, a dome cover, a large cooking surface with raised grooves etc...).

That being said, this product caters to people (me) willing to try a product that is not a traditional charcoal grill, could be useful in smaller spaces/porches, looks like it is easy to use and clean up, could potentially cut some fat (never hurts, right?), and seems like it will work well as a good back-up grill or a quick solution to throwing mini-bbqs requiring even heat distribution without the hassle of buying/lighting/dumping coal. If that's you, then read on...

Here, I'll try my best to outline the grill's pros and cons, as well as do a quick, inevitable comparison it to a traditional charcoal grill.

PROS:
The pros of this grill basically equal the pros of using hot plates in general:
1) Quick Heat - The whole surface heats up very quickly (you'll be ready to cook in a few minutes after you twist the switch)
2) Design - Basically you have the stand, a bottom dome, the flat grill that sits on the bottom dome, then the lid (top dome). You can easily remove the flat grill part to use indoors separate from the stand, and it also makes for easy cleaning since you can just throw the flat grill surface in the sink.
3) Easy to Clean - The grill surface is relatively easy to clean. Understand, grease is never easy to clean. But in my situation, i wipe off the chunks of grease with paper towels, then run hot water over it in the sink (yes it fits in my sink) and wash it with a soapy sponge. It's basically like cleaning a big oily plate by hand in the sink, however easy or hard that is to you.
4) Space Saving - The bulk of the materials are where it should be: the grilling surface. Everything else (aka the stand) is small and portable.
5) Easy to Assemble - A no brainer. Put the pole of the stand into the foot of the stand. Attach the grilling surface to the bottom dome. Stick that whole thing on the stand. Then put the cover on top. Took a few minutes while I was watching TV.
6) Great Tasting Food - Of course this part is important. I tried cooking everything unseasoned and it just tastes great. I mean, this this one thing I love about hotplates...food tastes good without a lot of seasoning. I cooked unseasoned burgers, top sirloin, chuck roast, kielbasa..it was fast, it tasted good, and it had good looking grill stripes on it when I was done.

Cons:
Seriously, not much that I can think of. If I had to be picky:
1) Could be a little heavy for people with a bad back?
2) When you lift it by the handles, the stand comes out (since they're not really "attached"....the grill just sits on the stand.) So you gotta lift it by the pole of the stand, really...this isn't even a con truthfully.
3) People complain about the grease not dripping into the pan. Well, it's a hot plate with grooves and a hole in it for grease to drip. Of course not all the grease magically swims toward the magical grease drip hole. But still, it works fine...I didn't notice sever grease build-up that stood in the way of my grilling.

Comparison to a Traditional Grill:
Really, there shouldn't be a comparison. Obviously this is not a charcoal grill and should never be compared to one. They are just 2 different things, and so they make food taste different: traditional grills basically fire cook your food through the coal's heat so you get the taste of charcoal while this product essentially "pan sears" your food. I'm a long time lover of all kinds of BBQ, and charcoal grills are great fun, make great tasting food and really cannot be replicated. You shouldn't be buying this grill to ever *REPLACE* a charcoal grill; it should be bought to be a 2nd grill that's great for rainy days or a primary grill if you really have no space and don't have time/space to deal with lighting and dumping charcoal.

Overall, this grill is an electric hot plate with raised grooves that makes great tasting food quickly, quietly, and easily. And for what it is, it's a SUPERB product (and relatively affordable too!). Go get one! I didn't regret my purchase and I don't think you will either.

Drip pan is too small
My only problem is the "convenient" drip pan.Maybe i'm the only one who likes to cook more than one thing at a time; but anyways, the fat and juices of the meat quickly overflowed the tiny drip pan and ran out the bottom making a mess everywhere.The "convenient" drip pan is located under the hot metal plate and you just try and empty it while cooking.Luckily I was cooking outside!! The grill works surprisingly well and the food produced was just excellent. Be aware of this problem or you might not be so lucky.

George Foreman Grill Worth the Price!
I purchased my grill second hand.It's over a month now that I've been using it...and I LOVE it!!BUT!!There COULD be some improvements.First of all...I received no manual with mine.I can't for the life of me figure out where the lid is supposed to "rest" on the grill?Second...indoors I've had to adjust and re-adjust where the grill is positioned so that the grease from whatever is cooking will run off properly into the drain tray.I live in an almost 100 year old house...so the floors are NOT even!That is an important factor when cooking with this grill indoors. Here's a bit of advice for folks with uneven flooring...place the grill so that the drip-pan is placed toward the downhill slope of your flooring:) Third...even when you have the grill on the pedestal evenly placed...EXPECT A MESS UNDERNEATH!Runoff & condensation from the lid will cause a bit of a splatter underneath your grill!And the grill placed on the pedestal is just a wee bit more wobbly than I like.One more downfall....if you clean your grilltop in your sink...BE CAREFUL!!Mine was perfect when I got it...but now has the metal showing around the edges where I've been cleaning it using my kitchen sink.These grills can NOT take hard knocks!!!!!I've learned from this not to EVER use anything but teflon safe utensils on my grill!And even then...be GENTLE!

Ok...enough with the downside...this grill shadows all I've ever used!And that includes charcoal, propane and open fire.No more bursting into flame and singeing your eyebrows off...no more nasty tasting food...no more over or under-cooked food...no more waiting for heat strong enough to cook...no more whining about it's "to cold to grill outdoors"...or no more "I'm not ALLOWED to use aything but electric in my apartment or college dorm"...

This is a GREAT buy!!~I think it needs just a few improvements...but all in all...BRAVO MR. FOREMAN!!

Perfection found
I've been using this style of starter for 14 years now going through 6 including many "Brand Names". I grill or BBQ on a weekly basis. Recently I stepped up to the Weber 87886 Chimney Starter. This is the best I've ever used. It has a heavy duty convex wire cone in the bottom that makes for an easy start with two sheets of newspaper no need to add paper as I used to do with the brand names. Capacity is there is you need it more than with the competitors but it will also do a great job with a small amount of charcoal. The Plastic handle is bonus and stands up to the weather better than wood. The only way I can see melting the handle is using lighter fluid or self starting charcoal or having it too close to flammable material. The barrel is made of a heavier gauge of metal than the competition and others thinner metal gets weak with repeated heating and cooling. The lifting handle is a nice to have feature with a full load of briquettes. Although do yourself a big flavor treat and try Lump Charcoal, also if using briquettes adding unlit ones to a grill in use gives a flavor to the food I don't care for.

Simply the best way to light charcoal.
As an avid griller and lover of cooking on charcoal, I can't say enough good things about the Weber Chimney starter.

This simple to use chimney style starter quickly lights enough lump or briquette charcoal to fill your 22 1/2 inch weber grill WITHOUT LIGHTER FLUID!!

Lighting is easy. Simply add charcoal to rim of chimney, place parafin lighters or newspaper in the bottom. Light newspaper or parrafin lighters and place on charcoal grate in grill. In 20-30 minutes you will have orange hot smokin' charcoal.

This is also a must for cooking things with very long cooking times such as turkeys or roasts. About 30 minutes before adding additional charcoal, use this puppy to light your coals, and then add to the fire as needed.

As I mentioned earlier, I reccomend using this in conjunction with the Weber parrafin charcoal lighters. On windy days they are easier to use than newspaper.

Once you use this you will never go back to using lighter fluid again. A must have for anyone who owns a charcoal grill.

I've tried the rest. This one is pretty darned good.
I have to first say that I've been using one of these for nearly twenty years. I got my first one as an engagement gift, and couldn't believe someone would spend [$$]...for this novelty gadget. But it was a gift, so what did I care?

I gave it a shot, and found that I would never use a gas grill, nor would I use lighter fluid again. The flavor obtained from grilling on pure charcoal is uncompromised.

A few weeks ago, this came up on my gold box list, and my current one would obviously die this summer, so I went for it. Let me tell you that this is by far, the LARGEST charcoal starter I've ever seen. The previous 4 or 5 have been exactly the same diameter (about 6"). This item is 7.5". For those of you who know geometry, that is 56% more volume. At first, that scared me because I thought I'd have trouble lighting a shallow basket of coals. To my surprise, they light perfectly. Furthermore, when I make those small Turkeys and larger fare in my Weber, I only need to make one batch of coal.

I cannot comment on durability yet, but it does seem so. My starters have always resided outdoors year-round, and typically last 3 years. If you cook with charcoal, you need one of these. This is a fine value.

You don't HAVE to buy this....
Get a coffee can, and cut off the bottom with a can opener. With a bottle opener, use the pointy end for opening juice cans to make openings all around the bottom on the side. Get a double-sheet piece of newspaper and roll from the edges toward the center to make sort of a doughnut, and place in the bottom of the can. Do the same with another sheet of paper, but roll it smaller and place it inside the other doughnut. Poke holes through the center of the doughnuts for air flow. Place your charcoal briquettes on top of the paper. Push the whole stack up so the paper doesn't block the holes (the friction of the paper against the can will hold up the stack). Set the can on your grill or cooking spot, and light the paper through the holes in bottom. It may be beneficial to stack another can with the bottom cut out on top to improve the chimney effect. Now let it sit for 10-20 minutes while the briquettes light up. Come back and find out it blew out. Light it again. Watch it longer this time. When the briquettes in the bottom and sides are gray with ash, use tongs to move them around so the unburned ones can light. When ready, use your Vise-Grips to remove the can. Do not leave the can out in the rain, or it will rust (more easily).

Just spend the very reasonable about of money and buy this product! No rolling the paper JUST right - just wad it up and stick it in the bottom. No concern with keeping the air holes uncovered - a grill inside holds the charcoal. Put the Vise-Grips back in the tool box - this has nice handles. And don't worry about mixing the charcoal - it all lights up evenly.

When I first opened the box, I thought, "Wow! This thing is huge!" Made my two coffee cans seem small, but it is supposed to light a grill-full of charcoal at once. I got the Weber because with all of my research on grills and accessories, Weber products are always recommended above all others. This item seems well-built, and I expect it to last a very long time. After using my homemade charcoal chimneys, which I got pretty good at, I was ASTOUNDED at how quickly this lighted, how quickly it got the charcoal up to temperature, and amazed at the orange inferno it created!

I've been around charcoal grills my whole life (but don't have one myself. Yet. I got this for Dutch oven cooking.) and have never seen a charcoal chimney! I've seen people nearly kill themselves with charcoal starter and ate plenty of charcoal-starter burgers. I don't know why everyone with a charcoal grill doesn't use one of these.

Get rid of storing the starter in your home and transporting it in your car. Get rid of the explosion when you light your grill. Get rid of the starter by-products in your food. Do get this charcoal chimney and get the most easily-lit, most consistently-burning charcoal you can.

Great Product, Economical Price
I bought my Weber charcoal starter last year and after using another brand for comparison have to admit the Weber is light years ahead of the other brand in terms of function. It took me approx 7 or 8 minutes to get the charcoal going with the other brand. With the Weber it took about 3 minutes.

Good to Shop you Around
This is a great cart to be used with crippled people to help them get along in the backyard and porch. Has sturdy construction, good wheel bearings to support even the heaviest people and a rustproof metallic frame which can be added to with ornaments, such as a horn.

Q cart-- rave review
The Weber Q cart is a great accessory to the Weber Q. The grill is heavy so this cart makes it so easy to transport. We have used it several times out picnicing. The other item that is great is the adapter hose. You can buy it right from Weber. You can use the 20lb tank with the hose.

It's More Than Just A Cart...
On the surface this looks like any ole cart that you would set your grill on. You may be asking yourself, self, why would I spend $40 on a grill cart when I can just set my grill on top of my folding table? Well here's why. This cart will fit your grill like a glove. Your grill will sit atop this sturdy cart like man on top of his mountain. I also use this cart to hold my big external propane tank (which I have connected to the grill using the optional hose attachment) and a little six pack cooler. This cart also offers you a place to hang your tools. It also folds down into a nice little package complete with velcro for ensuring that it stays folded. All these reasons prove why this is more than just a cart, it is a grilling podium.

Overall, a very good and portable stand for my Baby Q..... But!
I decided to go with the large propane tank that will last me probably the whole season instead of buying the smaller 14oz canisters, which only last one or two barbeques. The wire rack on the bottom of this cart was SCREAMING when I put this big heavy propane tank on the bottom of it. It's also kinda awkward down there and it slides around a bit when you move the cart so you really have to watch it! It's a little better when you slide it to either end of the wire rack to take the pressure off the middle of it, which was bending noticeably. If I can figure out a way to secure it down there, I think it will be fine.

Other than that, well worth the money for this grill!

This stand offers attractive convenience for cooking. It's fairly portable too. It feels very stable when the grill is mounted properly. If lifted or pushed, the grill can begin to slip off the stand. Caution is advised. Still it's worth it. 6 inches too short
Although this 12-inch brush and scraper is well made, it's too short (which is important when you're cleaning the back of a hot grill). In retrospect, I would have spent the extra two bucks to get the 18-inch model.

Very good. Don't get the plastic one, it will melt on you.
This is a very good scraper. I preheat my grill and then scrape it clean. I made the mistake of buying a plastic version of this brush for a couple dollars less and melted it on the 2nd cleaning. Get the wood one.

Great value
This little scraper is perfect for all grills, the brass brissles are stronger and better than those greeny-meanies, but soft enough for porceline coated grills unlike the steel bristle ones which will scratch. Great tool, but a little short for those on-the-fly !HOT! scrapes.

Nice and compact
This is the perfect small grill brush. I use it for my Weber Q and it works great and stores away nice. The top scraper comes in handy for the tough to get off dried food.

Another useful scraper
This is the little brother of the Weber 18-inch grill scraper, and it's just as sturdy and well-made as the other one. It can tackle the toughest cleanup jobs without a problem. Also, the scraper on the end of the handle is great for scraping those road pizzas off the asphalt in front of your house. If you happen to be a veterinarian, it's also useful for doing those D & C's on livestock, but you might want to get the one with the 18-inch handle for that. ... Read more

A premium grill deserves a Premium Cover
When I purchased my Weber grill I literally would not put it together until my cover arrived. This is a well crafted cover and I would highly reccomend getting the premium cover, which is full length, you will appreciate the added protection. The cover offers two nice features, side venting and velcro straps. The side venting which in on the front and back allows wind to pass through so the cover does not blow aways (ever go out in the morning after a windy night and your cover is gone?) and the velcro straps also aid in creating a tight fit.

What I tell anyone I know that just purchased a Weber grill is "You just payed $$$ for your grill, spend alittle more for the cover."

Overpriced? A little, but quality is outstanding.
What can you say about a piece of plastic. However, this is the KING of plastic pieces and it fits better than OJ's glove. (The lining is nice too.)

If you have shelled out the funds for one of the large Genesis models, it just makes sense to protect the investment. Unless you keep your grill in a garage or storage shed, you have to have it. (Why Weber doesn't include this with the grill is for them to answer; it really is that essential.)

Amazing grills......but WAY over-priced covers...
I took the advice of the review above and bought the Char-Broil 68" (grey) cover from Lowe's for $14.99 It fits my brand new Weber Genesis Gold B like a glove (very snug due to velcro straps on bottom ends). Interior is fully lined which protects the beautiful stainless steel and the exterior is made of heavy vinyl. To pay $55 for a cover simply because it says Weber is foolish. This is a much better option. Spend the money you save on some steaks and wine.

GREAT FIT - STAYS PUT !
I bought this for our new grill in August and have been very happy with it. I debated about purchasing it because of the cost but am very happy that I did. Let's face it after spending over $500.00 for a grill it's best to protect it and this definately serves its purpose. We have had some serious wind/rain and snow storms and the cover has stayed on through each and every one. I like that it vents to prevent moisture build up too - we have not had any problem with that at all. The adjustable straps are great for adjusting just how tight you want to make it but also allow easy removal for use and replacement afterwards. If you want a high quality product this is it !

It's a Weber...but there are other choices
I appreciate quality...that's why I bought a Weber Genesis Gold C over its competitors but there are other choices that will work at a less dear price. I found that the Char-Broil 68" cover fits likes its custom made, covers the entire grill down to its wheels and is made of heavy vinyl and fully lined. It has velcro straps so you can adjust the tightness by the wheels ensuring a tight fit. This cover is 15.99 at Lowe's. You won't go wrong buying the Weber but there are other choices at a much better price. ... Read more

This Baby Gets It Done
I've owned several other portable grills (Grill-2-Go, $20 propane grills), but this one is by far the best. You know it is something special when it arrives fully assembled except for attaching the lid.

The cast iron grilling surface makes those great searing marks and lets the food cook evenly. The regulator on this grill really allows you to adjust the size of the flame (unlike cheaper grills). The drip pan is also great and replacements can be purchased at local hardware stores.

We use this grill with our RV and it is the perfect size for our family of 3. I don't see how we could use the full size Weber Q --- the baby Q is more than large enough for us.

Amazing!!
I was thinking about purchasing the Q Grill but was hesitant because of the size. Then I saw the Baby Q "new" this year! All I can say is that it's an amazing grill! Well crafted, very very portable and cooking with it is amazing! The food does not taste like propane whatsoever. And it makes perffffect grill marks!!! Just fantastic!!! The built-in starter is a good added bonus for this gas grill!! Also, the grill is bigger then what it looks like online. You can easily cook two chicken on this thing!!

10 out of 10. Cast iron grate and overall design delivers the best grilling I have ever enjoyed. I am all thumbs when it comes to grilling, but the BabyQ has never disappointed. Cannot recommend more highly.

Cool Grill but ... What were they thinking!
I like the grill a lot, but WHY IN THE WORLD would they make it to use a 14.1 OZ propane conister??!! I have YET to find one of those canisters, so I will have to take the other peoples advice and bend the support rind to accomodate the 16.4 oz conisters. POOR product development by Weber!

This is the one to get
You're probalby thinking that there's no reason to update the 10-year-old Weber you've got in your back yard. Well, turns out Weber has made some smart improvements over the years-- the new "gold" model is worth the upgrade.

The ash-catcher is super, the one-touch vent system is a big improvement (no more knocking each vent with a trowel), the plastic handles stay cooler... you get the idea. Nothing dramatic, but good progress.

But here's the clincher: setting one of these up (takes about 20 minutes, even if you make a mistake or two) just makes you feel like you're in heaven. It's summer embodied. People rhapsodize about the new car small... well, fughettaboutit. The look of a shiny new grill that you've assembled yourself is about as good as it gets.

Highly recommended accessory: the charcoal companion. Put your lighter fluid (or your MatchLight) away and use this instead-- it works flawlessly, and it's better for the environment.

Great charcoal grill
I'm a big Weber fan-- I've used a Genesis gas grill for six years and a Smoky Mountain Cooker for two. Recently purchased the Kettle Gold. Great charcoal grill! The enclosed ash catcher is particularily useful if you grill with lump charcoal versus briquettes, like I do. It catches any sparks and small pieces of lump that drop through the charcoal grate. Hinged grate is also a big plus. I like to use the Weber charcoal holders to hold my lump when grilling steaks-- push them together in the center to sear (brings charcoal about 2 inches from meat) then push them to the outer edge for indirect cooking. I also added a thermometer to the lid to check and adjust cooking temps.

This baby would get five stars if Weber was still offering the cast iron grate upgrade for the kettles. It's been discontinued this year, but I hear some are still out there to be found. Even without cast iron, you can't go wrong with this as a charcoal grill, and being a Weber, it will last for years and you'll get great customer support if it is ever needed.

Simply put, this is the best grill I have ever had...
Before purchasing this grill, I was a die-hard gas guy. I figured that the convenience factor of quick starts, easy clean ups and not having to constantly buy charcoal would be a fair trade for the taste of good charcoal cooking. What this Weber grill provides though is super even heat, few flare-ups, awesome taste and super easy clean ups via the ash pan and a few kicks to the side to drop the ash through the vent holes...the best of both worlds! I still have my gas grill though (which will be used for the occasional hot dog), but for real cooking, nothing will replace my charcoal grill, except perhaps another charcoal grill. All I need now is the chimney starter to complete my set!

Wow Great Grill
I just got the Weber grill for my husband for Father's day and this grill is great. The food taste so good and he loves it. It's so easy to clean with the ash keeper on the bottom that I can actually get out of the kitchen and leave the cooking to him.(what a great bonus) I just ordered another one for my dad and I know he's gonna love it.

Love the Q!
Husband & I recently bought a Q, after many years of happy grilling on a Weber charcoal grill. We'd been shopping for a gas grill for quite some time, but could not find a quality small grill. Most of the gas grills are just TOO BIG!

We're usually grilling just for the two of us and we wanted a gas grill for the convenience. The Q certainly fits the bill. It's great! I've cooked steaks, burgers, chicken, fish, pork chops, zucchini, onion slices -- well, you get the picture -- and they've all turned out perfectly. It gets plenty hot and heats very evenly. The side tables are a marvelous addition. I was concerned that they might get "icky" when you fold them into the Q, but they're designed so that only the tiny little points on the corners touch the grate.

The cart is a worthwhile addition. It could be a bit sturdier, but it works well enough and the Q fits snugly on top of it and sort of "locks down" under some plastic tabs. I bought a 5' LP adapter hose for $10 at the local sporting goods store (look in the camp stove aisle) so I can hook it up to a 20# tank. My only complaint is that the cart instructions say DO NOT store a tank on the cart, so the tank has to sit beside the Q. I'd rather be able to store the tank on the bottom rack of the cart, but I guess Weber has its reasons for instructing you not to do so.

All in all, a great purchase!

Another Great Weber Grill
This is my third Weber grill and first ever gas grill. I've been considering a gas grill for more convenience during the week, but didn't want one that took up much room. The Thermos and Coleman portable models that have come out in the last year interested me at first, but really just seemed to be outdoor grillpans/griddles. Then I saw the Q...

The Q is a good looking, stylish grill. Added to that are clever design features (folding trays, ultra-light composite shell), a high quality regulator, and a cast iron cooking grate that weighs more than the rest of the grill. Weber has also designed accessories that add to the functionality of the Q. Out of the box, assembly is a breeze. A useful Owner's Guide and a nice recipe card booklet are provided.

I've cooked one meal so far. The food cooked evenly across the whole surface. Once it was preheated, the medium gas setting was plenty to keep the heat up. I was very impressed with how well it cooked. Also, don't be fooled by the thought of a portable grill being small -- the Q can handle a lot of food. I had 4 sausages and 12 large shrimp on it and there was plenty of room for more.

As a longtime dedicated charcoal guy, I find that gas grilling just doesn't provide the same flavor. But the Q has won me over for quick, clean, and convenient weeknight cooking. The idea of being able to take it on the road adds to the value. It may even prove to be a handy double-burner for weekend barbecues. Thanks, Weber, for another great grill.

(Update: I've now grilled potato planks, chicken breast, pork chops, pizza, polenta, pinwheel skirt steaks, garlic bread, eggplant, mushrooms, and beef skewers. All have turned out pefectly. Can't say enough about the cooking grate and evenness of cooking across the entire surface.)

The best BBQ grill ever
If it's possible for a grill to revolutionize BBQ'ing as mankind knows it, then this is the grill. Seriously! I was always a diehard charcoal BBQ guy, and I've had weber grills in the past and have been very happy with them. But I recently moved to an apartment complex where I could not have a charcoal grill. When I saw the Weber Q grill, it was love at first sight. The design is both attractive yet practical. The purchase was a no brainer as I new I had to have a gas grill, eve though I still would have rather had a charcoal one for the sheer flavor. Well after getting this home and cooking a dozen burgers and dogs for myself and some friends I was completely overwhelmed. I had never tasted gas-grilled burgers which tasted so good. Furthermore, this thing heats up so fast, it's just amazing. In 3 minutes the grill is hot and ready to go, and that grill, solid cast iron, holds the heat and cooks beautifully. I've never been able to cook those cool grill marks on burgers and steaks before. Believe me, you will cook perfect burgers and steaks, with those grill marks, while retaining all the flavor and juiciness. This grill is awesome. Unfortunately I paid $30 more than what Amazon is charging because I bought it from a specialty BBQ store and I needed it that day, but trust me, this is the best grill you will ever buy.

Great little grill!
I echo the positive sentiments of all reviewers past. Goes together quickly. I also have the stand & the cover. Just used the grill for a 4th of July mini-cookout. Perfect for the 2 of us. I can easily see this grill handling enough food for many more people without a problem. Came up to cooking-temperature very fast and cooked our steak tips and burgers nice and evenly. It was a very windy day here as well and I had no problem at all with the grill staying lit. Never once did I lose the flame.
Very durable - I tipped it over while it was resting on the Weber Q cart. It rolled a few times on the lawn but was unscathed in the end. Not even a scratch. Needless to say I am very impressed with the quality of this product!
Like some others mentioned, I am using the 16oz propane cylinders after a minor tweak to the holder. No problems there either.
Even though we have more than enough room for a full-size grill, I like being able to store the grill in a small space. After using this one, I can see no reason to get a full-size grill.
I would strongly recommend this grill. It truly lives up to all the hype.

No space? No problem!
Living in a small top floor condo, I needed a grill that was small, yet worked well enough to cook a good family-sized meal. So after doing a little research on the internet, and by reading magazines; I settled on the Weber Q Portable Gas Grill.

This grill is very nice for a portable grill. It's got an attractive functional design which allows it to fold up when transporting it, or when its not in use. Although it doesn't generate as much heat as bigger grills, it does have enough power to cook about 5-7 large hamgburgers at once easily. The burner is basically a rectangular metal tube with tiny holes from which the flames emerge from. The burner itself rests below the grill about 7-8inches. This makes a hotspot that is about center, but slightly towards the cover's hinges. Around the center of the grill, there is ample space for indirect cooking, but if you plan on cooking a large pork roast, this still maybe a bit small. Still, for most other things like hamburgers, chicken legs, ribs, and hot dogs; the Weber Q works very well.

As far as taste goes, charcoal is still the best, but I would rather use a good gas grill like this one in favor of its easy clean up. The Weber Q's porcelain/cast iron grill can be easily removed and cleaned with soapy water and some good scrubbing. The drip pan is easily accessible as well as the bottom of the grill itself - where all the ash and drippings collect. This can be easily cleaned with some 409 cleaner and a scrubber. Typically it takes me about 15-20 minutes to clean my Weber Q after I finish using it. And best of all, I can do it all in my small kitchen, without having to go downstairs to the shared water hose.

The Weber Q uses 14.1 ounce Propane gas canisters. These last about 1.5 hours, so I would recommend at least 3 for a weekend bar-b-que. These cansisters can be easily screwed into place, and held by a fitted metal ring. I should point out that the Weber Q is made to work with the 14.1 ounce canisters because this metal ring is sized for them specifically. You could also buy an attachment that allows for the larger, more common propane tank to connect to it, but I think that would cut down on its portability. Also note that these canisters should not be disposed of like other trash. Typically, hardware stores like Orchard Supply are willing to dispose of them for you. In my case, I usually give them my used canisters when I go there to buy more.

Perhaps the only real downside to this grill is that it does not come with a stand. You would be forced to kneel, or sqaut to get to your grill as a result. Weber does make a stand, but it costs another $25-30. So if you want to save yourself from some back pain, definitely get the stand. Of course, this brings the price of the grill to almost $200. And that's somewhat expensive for a portable grill. Still, I do like the ease with which the Weber Q folds up and how portable it is (the stand folds up as well). So if you have little space and want to grill decent amounts of food, I suggest checking this grill out. It's expensive, but it's a very good portable grill. ... Read more

Lovely to look at - attractive to birds
I was concerned that the birds would not come to the feeder because of the concealed feeding holes, but I brewed my first batch of nectar a little stronger as the instructions recommended and they were feeding within an hour of putting it up. I have another feeder - a traditional one - in another part of the yard, which they prefer (it has the resting arms that the other reviewer recommends) but this is a nice alternative for the birds that are chased away from that feeder. Because of the complex structure of the mobile, I've not had any trouble with ants at all, as I do with my other one! It's also amazingly easy to clean. I've found with other feeders, the little plastic flowers eventually break off. The glass globes can even be washed in the dishwasher (but be sure to rinse them afterwards to get rid of any detergent residue that can harm birds).

The birds love it!
We have had a wonderful time watching the hummers use this feeder. They are especially active at twilight. We often get 6 - 8 birds fighting over spots and one evening I counted at least 10!

I have had no problems with leaking and the feeder is really easy to refill. Good thing because I have to fill it at least twice a week.

Pretty to look at...but ours is a LEAKY MESS!!!
We are having bad luck with the hummingbird feeder. It leaks the liquid sugar solution all over the patio. Hummingbirds like it, but not as much as the ANTS!! I will try to get a refund or exchange it...maybe ours is just a reject!

Beautiful and sturdy
We received this feeder as a Christmas gift and were delighted with it. It survived two rather violent wind storms this spring(gusts upwards of 55 mph)-- though one globe blew down, it did not break, or even crack. The only loss has been the bottom cap for one of the globes (eaten by our dog) so now we can't fill that globe. Like another reviewer, I wish that part were sold separately. Kidding. I was surprised at how BIG these tools are! They are gargantuan. They are at least 20" long, and they are very wide and very heavy. I could turn over a Volkswagen with the spatula!

As others have written, I like the all-steel construction. This makes them easy to clean and keep sanitary.

I am ordering another set because once my family lays their eyes on these tools, they'll steal them!

Excellent quality
I've owned this set for over a year, and I can tell you these tools are strong and durable. They are large, easily handling larger cuts of meat. They look nice, feel nice, they've been left out in the rain for days with no problem. These tools will last forever.

Best smoker.....at any price!!
I've used several cheaper water smokers, offset units, gas grills, you name it. I've used them all to make bar-b-que, however, non of them has produced a better product then the Weber Smokey Mountain. This is the best smoker you can buy at any price. It's perfect for small families and large ones. You can easily prepare 6 to 10 racks of ribs at once. I've done 3 - 7lbs pork butts and a 12 lbs brisket at the same time.

This unit is made to Weber standard, so you know it's well built. Heavy enamel coating that will last a life-time. The effeciency of the cooker is unbelievable. I've done 15 hour cooks without adding any extra fuel.

This is the first smoker (of any type) that I've used that I didn't have to baby sit. Most smokers need almost constant attention in order to maintain proper temp. Not the Weber. It needs virtually no adjustments to keep a steady smoking temperature for hours and hours. You can easily do overnight cooks and sleep easy as the Weber does it's magic.

Weber Smoker
I purchased my Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker in August 2003 after talking about doing so for years and after looking at many competing models. I am not disappointed. From an engineering prespective it's design is simple and straightforward and it is extremely well built (just compare it to competing models and you will quickly see the difference). By reviewing the Thermometer installation procedures available at "virtualweberbullet" web site, adding an industrial grade thermometer by drilling a small hole in the cover was completed easily.

The results have been fantastic!! I have used the noted web site to learn about techniques to extend the cooking period without having to add charcoal and the rib recipe (The Best Ribs in the Universe) is out of this world! Smoked Turkey, smoked chicken, smoked salmon and smoked almonds have all been easy to prepare and the results outstanding.

I easily designed and constructed a side simple shelf (from two shelf brackets, a 10"x12" piece of oak, and a 1/8"x1" by 30" piece of steel straping available at Home Depot) that can be temporarily attached to the cooking section for use during any smoking session and easily removed so that you can then place the cover on the smoker for storage.

You will not be disappointed with the results of you efforts with this smoker!

Got this as a present to replace my worn-out cheap-o Brinkman. I wouldn't have spent so much on myself, but am glad someone did! Fire stays lit, heat is slow and steady, with no intervention. The old one used to go out on me, heat up, down & all over. Not this puppy. The construction is heavy all the way. It really helps to be able to lift off that middle ring section when setting up the fire. There are web sites dedicated to this cooker, and for good reason. The last BBQ Tool Set you'll ever need...
While a little intimidating when you first take it out of the box, once you get it unwrapped and get the secure, sturdy aluminum case snapped open you'll begin to admire both the simplicity and design of the Set.

I got mine as a wedding present, and I've already gotten a lot of quality use out of it. Most of the tools are long handled to give you good clearance from the heat, and the spatula is not only wide enough for the Big Burgers but it also has a sharpened edge to allow you to check "doneness" without having to reach for another tool.

The fork, knife, tongs, and basting brush are also well designed for their purposes and the Four "kebob" skewers are made out of solid, polished metal so the food slides right off. The eight corn picks are a nice touch, as are the salt and pepper set (they arrive empty, so fill them with the spice/rub of your choice), and for after-grill cleanup there's a nice and solid grill brush with spare head.

Nicest grill set I've ever seen
I bought for my bro's birthday, now I want one! Top quality, everything you need, and very sturdy, which is a plus on the grill. Warning, though, knife and serated edge on spatula are very sharp--not for kids who can't handle themselves. Main pieces are really long so you don't get burnt over the grill. Heads for the grill scrubber were $5, totally replaceable. Corn cobbers are really cute, too. Perfect gift for a bbq'r!

Advertised Price A Sham?

Best Thermometer I've Used
I've tried several other types of thermometers to no avail. I've used both the standard meat thermomter as well as more expensive digital thermometers. This works better than anything I've tried. The remote saves trips out the bbq and I've never had any trouble reading it. A must buy for any serious bbq.

Beware the limitation!!!
I returned mine. Why? Because it does not give you a reading for anything over 199 degrees. I purchased mine for use in a Weber smoker. I wanted to measure temperatures up to 220 degrees inside the smoker. This timer only registers to 199 degrees. After that it just beeps to tell you (as the directions say:) "out of range". It worked fine below that, but it was useless with any temps over that. It says the probe can register up to 480 degrees or something, so why limit the readout?

Great Seasonal Tool
The remote sensor is the selling point on this one. The utility of having the alarm unit in the house is wonderful, especially for us year round cooks - no more running outside in the snow to check the meat. Luv it. Got 2 - one for the charcoal, one for the gas. Note: when you screw up and let the probe cord overheat, you can buy replacement probes from manufacturers of similar reading digital temp sensors.

Just what I needed.
Ever had a meal go up in smoke because you got pulled away from the grill? This solves the problem. Also, I grill a lot about 3 times a week and that's just in the winter. This saves a lot of those trips out to the grill to probe the food and eliminates the need to open the grill cover and lose all that heat. Just stick it in put it on the grill and forget about it.

I really works.

1. Just to test things out I wheeled my grill to the far edge of my property then went down to my basement. I still got a full signal about 80 linear feet away through a brick wall and two thick plaster-lathe interior walls.

4 Minor annoyance: It has handy preprogrammed settings for rare, medium rare, medium etc. for beef, veal and lamb. But it assumes you want hamburger, fish and poultry well done. In case you don't want these foods cooked that well you need to find an appropriate temperature setting from one of the other foods. For example If you need to turn a turkey and want to be warned when it raches 145 degrees you'd need to set the monitor for beef and medium rare, which happens to be 145 degrees. Would have been nice if it had the option to directly set the monitor for a specific temperature.

over-rated
Although there are some cool features on this clock, it doesn't do all that it should. I'll simply list the pros and cons and you can decide for yourself.

Pros:
- you can instantly know the weather outside and the temperature inside.
- the forcast prediction and graphics are remarkably accurate.
- projection on ceiling is very cool at night - you can look straight up as you lie in bed and know the time.

Cons:
- even though it plugs in, the clock runs on batteries. the plug is only for the projection part.
- the alarm wouldn't wake up the lightest sleeper - it's just a little beep like your microwave makes. it just makes them more often as you sleep through it.
- the projection doesn't work at all if any light is on in the room and it's really only usefull on a perpendicular surface - otherwise it's stretched and half out of focus.

So as a second clock and something neat to have, this is fine. Don't get it as your primary alarm clock if you want to make it to work on time and not get fired :-)

ITS THE BEST BED SIDE CLOCK EVER !!!
The projection is awesome! The alarm starts quiet then gets loud enough to wake anyone (except the dead or the laziest). The weather forcasting works great never wrong. Knowing the time and outdoor temp as soon you open your eye's right on the ceiling or wall is wonderful! Never needs to be set I receive the signal fine and I live in northern rural Minnesota. Buy it you will love it.

I had this for a year now, and I NEVER had a problem with it. *Knock wood*. It does what it says, and it is very accurate, and the weather forecaster is pretty acurate too. A must buy!

Too Little....
Love the clock but wish the buttons were a little less cumbersome - hard to manipulate with just one hand. Indoor temp. reads a little high. Perhaps the projector heats the internals. Other than that, the time and outdoor temp. on the ceiling is quite entertaining!

Great idea; poor design
I bought this clock for my technophobic mother and she loves it. The display on the ceiling is ideal for her; she is severely near-sighted in one eye and almost blind in the other. She can see the display on the ceilng in the middle of the night without any problems. In addition to the display, she appreciates being able to see the temperature, both inside and out.

Another feature of this clock that is ideal for her is that the regular display is only lit when you want it to be lit. There are no glaring red numbers staring at you all night. When you want to see the time/temp, press the snooze button and the display lights for a few seconds.

Now for the negatives of this great little gadget. It is very lightweight and the buttons sit smoothly at the bottom of the clock. It is difficult to tell one button from another or to even push the buttons to set the alarm, view, etc. Raised braille like nobs on the buttons would be helpful as well as making the base wider so it would be more difficult to knock it over. Also, if the clock is running off battery, you have the option of displaying the time on the ceiling only when you press the snooze button. However, if you use the A/C adapter, you're choices are continuous display or no display. The slide switch that controls this is on the side of the clock and is difficult to find by feel.

Despite the few shortcomings of this clock, I still think it's wonderful and recommend it to anyone who is tired of squinting at glowing red dots to see what time it is; who wants to know the temperature both inside and out; and who always wants the correct time. ... Read more

great design, small size, unique product!
OK, this grill doesn't get as hot as the much bigger, much more expensive weber-type grills with multiple burners. That said, it still easily gets hot enough to cook a decently thick new york steak in just a few minutes per side. And as far as cooking with the lid off-- what do you expect for a lousy [money amount]!?!

On top of that, it's PERFECT for those with small apartment style balconies. It's economical on gas-- I use it pretty regularly and have yet to go through an entire large tank of propane in over six months of use. It's the perfect size if you're grilling a quick steak or two (or up to 6 or 7 hamburger patties) for one person.

The grill itself has the large gratings that leave pleasant, savory grillmarks on the meat. It's easy to clean, and doesn't cling onto charcoal and carbon like other grills seem to. The lid also has thoughtful little hooks on the inside part of the assembly screws, making it easy to hang the lid on the lip of barbeque itself instead of having to set it down somewhere. The little temperature guage on the front is useful for telling how fast the inside grill temp is heating up (essential for preheating the grill, something you should always do before cooking), although I don't rely on its accuracy in cooking/timing meat.

This is a great grill, a great idea, and great execution at a very attractive price. It's shown that it holds up extremely well after nine months of use, and I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Those with the space/backyards and multi-family sized barbeque needs should look elsewhere, but just looking at it should tell you that. For the rest of us doing some quick grilling for 1-2 people, this could be the perfect grill.

Great grill with nice features
I bought one of these grills three years ago to replace the standard aging $100 gas grill. It heats up quickly and cooks very nicely. The grill has wide flat porcelein bars instead of the thin chromed wires you would expect at this price. The lid has a thremometer built in, a nice touch. The grill is round, which doesn't leave hot and cold spots like some rectangular grill exhibit. The burner design is very simple, the top of the gas tube opens beneath a round cast heating plate which distributes heat very evenly. After three years, the grill shows no signs of aging.

My ex-wife got the grill, so I just bought another one yesterday. The quality and great features are still there.

Good, but not Great
This is a perfect grill for small groups. I typically only grill for my wife and I so the size is perfect. It wasn't too difficult to assemble and the parts machining is excellent, everything fit together very well. I have only 2 problems with this grill. First, the hangers you attach to the lid to allow you to hang the lid from the side of the grill are quite a pain when placing the lid. Makes it difficult for the lid to fit snugly. Not a problem, I'll just take the hangers off as they don't work that well anyway. Second, I grilled on it 2 days ago, on a fairly calm day weather wise. For some reason the flame kept going out. Took me an hour to grill 4 steaks, should have only taken 20 minutes. Not sure what causes this problem as I haven't ready anyone else experiencing it. It's annoying enough that it keeps the grill from getting 5 stars.

we love the size of this grill.it is easy to keep clean.we are looking to buy another one and give our old one to our friends.the problem i found was the front leg rusted and broke away from the frame.

Great for apartment patio
This thing is great. It's not suited for a 20-person cookout but for cooking for 1 or 2 people, or 3 times that many on occassion, it's great. I used full-sized propane tanks and they last over a year with using the grill 3 - 4 times a week for steaks, chicken, or fish. Weber Silver 22 1/2" Grill
We had heard this was the best grill on the market. We have a tiny terrace in a New York City apartment but love to barbecue so went for this which is really to large for the terrace but not for us, friends & family. It cooks great and we just tried the "indirect" cooking method. It looked like a pain to do it but turned out to be as simple as direct grilling, no fat dripping on the coals and with the Weber charcoal starter, easier than I've ever experienced. Altogether an A+++ experience.

Don't buy anything else other than Weber
As far back I can remember my family has always had a Weber Grill. The first Weber I remember from when I was a kid, didn't have the one touch system. It was given away when I was 14, when my dad bought a Weber One-touch as it was called then. That was over 15 years ago. When I joined the military and got married I bought a Weber for myself. It was also one without the one-touch. We used it all the time. Then in 1998 I bought my dad the Master Touch for Father's Day. I wasn't too happy with the change from cedar handles to plastic. After it was put together we cooked a great meal on it. My dad gave me the one touch he bought way back when since he didn't have the need it. It's still going strong today cooking good meals everytime and still has many years to go even though it's kept out in the english weather.

I have used other charcoal grills and gone to freinds and familes who used gas. The food defintly tastes different. I've got proof that they last too, sitting out side my patio door. I'm very happy with Weber's quality. If I decide it's time for a new Weber I would choose the Performer for the convinence. All the Grills that Weber makes are top quality and last. So buy a Weber and enjoy barbecueing like you never had before.

Smokin'!
My wife, kids, family and friends loved when I smoked a 25 pound turkey on my 22 1/2" grill. Mine is an older model with wooden handles. Recently (7/4/2004) cooked shish kabobs, WOW! This grill, as John Cameron Swayze said on old Timex watch commercials, takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Now if Weber only offered a refinishing kit/service for these; mine is 15 years old, has been out in all weather uncovered.

For REAL charcoal cooking (not storebought)
Why buy anything else? Well, as one reviewer pointed out, the Sunbeam is cheaper and cleans out more easily--but who cares? It's not as well built and thus will not last nearly as long. A key feature that many Americans (unlike hardwood burning southerners and grapevine burning mediterranean folks) realize is that one can actually cook food over coals obtained from burning real wood (yet we, continually hoodwinked marketing victims, spend billions on bags of charcoal a year). Such common sense purists in the know view charcoal as rediculously as charcoal enthusiasts view gas grills. With a heavy duty, basic-design Weber a nice pre-party hardwood fire can crackle away until beautiful and far more flavorful and longer lasting coals are obtained. Remember those 12 acres of kindling lying on the ground behind your house or along the road where you walk your dog? All for free--and didn't it need to be burned anyway? On most other grills, such roaring fires wood detroy the enamel, melting an entire cooking unit down to a point where an 8 by 6 foot black hole could be left in one's smoldering deck. No fears from the big weber--just keep the kids back as well as heavy alcohol consumption down until cooking is well under control. Don't be throwing in those toxic pressure-treated off-cuts to celebrate your new deck either. Also, to keep the fire rolling without stoking up more flames, one can add storebought charcoal if necessary, which is a small concession to keeping the party rolling.

Excellent product, easy to handle, simple design
I've been using this stand (and the hammock combo) for about 6 weeks now and I couldn't be happier. The stand is 5 pieces that go together easily, no tools, muss, or fuss. It was exactly what I needed since my yard has exactly one tree.

The hammock that Amazon basically gave away with the combo is not the best hammock you can buy (I mostly use my own) but you can't really argue with free. It is a almost too short for my 6' height and the ropes are quite a bit thicker than the hammock I had previously (and still mostly use). I take this hammock with me on picnics and such and figure it's disposable if it gets damaged while on the road.

I am not a small person, 6' 270 lbs., and I do have the hammock in the highest position using the chains, but I have had no problems with the stand or the hammock. Two good sized people and a child have used the hammock with no problems (still under the stated 500 lb. limit).

Because of the simplicity of design and the easy breakdown and setup I have taken the hammock to picnics and parties in my trunk (I do have to fold the back seat down to fit the long pieces).

My only wish were that the pipe ends had some kind of rubber seal, or maybe a locking pin, that would make it a little easier for one person to move the stand around when mowing (it comes apart easily if you try to pull on one end, but never while using it). If you have two people carefully moving it there is no problem, with one person you have to walk it back and forth.

Cool Stand and Durable
This is a great hammock stand. I bought it for my husband along with a great hammock from amazon for his birthday last summer. This stand is so strong and durable. My husband and I and all 4 of our young children have laid in the hammock and it never wobbled. It's easy to move to mow around and the green blends in with the woods and grass around our yard. A MUST FOR ANY HAMMOCK USER!!

Good but not the best
I bought the set with the hammock plus this stand. I will say it was worth the $99 I spent but it does have negatives. The stand has no interlocking parts. This makes the stand hard to move when it is assembled as it does not lock together. This annoys me as the locking parts would have probably cost an extra $3 on the price. Cutting corners like this seems almost foolish to me as the locks would be worth it. Otherwise the stand seems strong and works well. The hammock I recieved had a tag made in India and by the looks of it labor was not the only thing they saved on. The rope looks kind of cheap and the hammock needs to be hung high or when your in it you will sit on the floor. I guess for free I am happy enough with the hammcok but it is cheaply made!

Omni Swings n' Things Hammock Stand,Green
I purchased the hammockstand and hammock in two seperate orders. I received the hammock than used the Ups tracking on the day they said it went out for delivery,itstated that the carrier refused it due to damage and that it was being returned to sender. The next day the Ups delivered it with an apology from the driver and said that he was told to deliver it to me. The box it cam in was worn,and nothing but tape all around holding the box together. After taking the stand out of the box it went together in less than five minutes. The hammock stand is great with my only complaint is how it was shipped. One thing also is the customer has to supply the hooks and chains which costs around four dollars.

Doesn't Fit
I bought the hammock with accompanying stand. The rope hammock is way too long for the stand. My teenager weighs about 100lbs

Great to hold everything
I purchased the DB5000 to store all of those patio accessories that just seem to "build up". The deck box holds my chair cushions, candles and all of those kids toys. It's a great item to keep the patio looking clean

LOVE THIS BOX
I wish everything in life was this simple and satisfying. This box took about 5 minutes to put together by someone who doesn't know what a philips screw-driver is. This box needs no tools; it snaps together; all the pieces are labled. It's nice and roomy, sturdy, secure and it totally keeps all sorts of odds and ends from the back deck in one neat place. Also, it says not to sit on it and by accident, my 300 lb aunt sat on it - well, nothing happened and the box is still in perfect shape. For 40 bucks and the fact that this box will be around for years; this is one of those rare, great bargains.

Not large enough
It said that this box was large enough to hold chair cushions but it isn't.

These storage boxes keep my life jackets dry. I bought several and they hold the beach towels, water shoes, goggles, etc. I couldn't live without them.

Deck Box - DB5000
I puchased one of these deck boxes 3 summers ago for our pool area and have used it to keep beach towels & boom box in. I leave those items in there year round and have never had a problem with anything getting damp or wet and no bugs or critters. I have recently purchased one to use on the deck for my chair cushions but it wasn't large enough for all of my cushions.
