5-0 out of 5 stars Great once the grass is short!
Our mower was delayed, but once we got it our grass was pretty long and too a while to mow. There is a safety feature to prevent overheating and turns the mower off. This was frustrating for the first cut of the yard, but now it works great. We did have to get a 2nd battery for our 20'x200' yard because we are one strip shy of cutting the whole thing on a single charge.I hightly recommend it for small yards.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a real gem!
I've only had it two weeks, but I already love this little mower. Starts right up, runs til I'm done with my 1/6 acre yard. Cuts beautifully and stores out of the way under my work bench. Last week, I put it in the trunk of the car and drove it across town to cut my mother's grass. She's 74 and wants to take of her own yard, but just can't start her gas mower. Well, she likes this one; she can start and push it, and now she can mow her own grass again.
Plenty of power, pretty quiet. Works great. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars wonder price and product
we are very pleased not only with the price of this cover we also cannot believe the quality.
we are very happy with this purchase and the free shipping made it even better

3-0 out of 5 stars It's NOT green
Although I have only had this cover for about 2 weeks, the quality of the cover is excellent. It seems very durable and well made. The only problem is that it is not green. Its a tan or MAYBE a Kahki. If you care about that sort of thing and you want a hunter green cover to (ie., match your outdoor funiture like I did) than do not buy it. If you just want a good cover, than I think you are in good shape with this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's not really green!
The reason I rate this grill cover with 1 star is because the picture -- and the grill cover's box -- advertise that the grill cover is mountain green when in fact it is brown.

It also had blemishes all over the front of it, little dots of dye or something.

It looks like a good quality grill cover, but it does NOT look like the grill cover I ordered, which was green and would have matched the rest of my patio furniture (also green). I kept it anyway because the item description at Amazon does not actually promise that it's green (the box does, and the product photo does) and I just need to keep the bird poop and rain off my new grill.

Amazon.com Review

Virtually unbreakable, this lightweight, vacuum-insulated thermos travels to work or recreation easily, and for hours afterward, coffee, tea, or broth will still be hot. Or lemonade, iced tea, or a sports drink will still be chilled. Tapered toward the top and slim enough (11 inches high, 3 inches in diameter at bottom) to safely pour with one hand, it slips into a briefcase or backpack. Pouring is a snap--twist off the cup, which holds 6 ounces of liquid, twist the stopper a few turns and pour through a no-drip slot (there's one for righthanders, another for lefthanders) without removing the stopper. Fine threading ensures the stopper seals tightly, while the exterior has a handsome satin finish. The smooth interior cleans with sponge or cloth, and preheating or prechilling with hot or cold water is recommended. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Keeps it at temperature and in the thermos!
I have a busy schedule, so I have found myself running out of the house with my coffee in an insulated mug - keeping it in hand as I make my way to the subway, since it doesn't have a sealed lid. After about a month of this charade, I decided to buy a thermos - a coworker had given a stellar recommendation to purchase a Thermos Nissan. I don't regret it one bit. I bought the 750ml model, and it fits upright in my messenger bag - but I have also had it completely horizontal in the bag without any worries about leakage. And the coffee is piping hot! Just make sure to prep the thermos with boiling water before you put the coffee in, and you're good to go all day. This is the best thermos on the market - bar none - except maybe for their Titanium model - but that's like [$$]! Unless you're some sort of uber yuppie, stick with the stainless model and use the extra [$$]towards detailing your Volvo!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great thermos for coffee or tea
When I bought this bottle I had pretty high expectations because of previously owning a similar one, and having been issued a much larger one of the same type from the Army. The Nissan Travel Companion met my expectations completely. It will keep coffee hot for 48 hours if you need it to and are leaving it full for that time. The time degrades from that to about 8 hours if you are drinking the contents. If you fill the bottle with hot water, let it sit for a few minutes, to heat up the inside of the bottle, and then fill it with your coffee, it will stay hot for as long as you leave it full and unopened. Sounds silly, but try it.

Most days, I actually want to drink some of my coffee before the day has passed and the thermos works well for that too. I make a pot (7 cups will fit) in the morning, rinse the bottle out with very hot water, and I drink my coffee throughout the day. It is very hot for most of the day, into the evening. If a cup or two remain at the end of the day, they will not stay hot into the next morning. It only works for more then a day, if you leave it completely full, and don't open it until you want to drink it.

The bottle is well made. I've had it for almost 6 months now and use it every day. I even use it on weekends so I can turn my coffee pot off. It keeps the coffee fresher and just as hot as leaving it on the heating burner.

I only recommend this thermos (or any stainless steel bottle) for black coffee, tea, or hot water. Add your cream and sugar or whatever afterwords. Vacuum bottles are not dishwasher safe and it is dangerous to put food stuffs in it because you won't be able to get it completely clean. Coffee and tea can be rinsed out without a problem.

Summary. Keeps fluids hot for up to 8 hours of normal use. Up to 48 hours of full quantity storage. Very durable and drip proof. Not dishwasher safe, and should not be used with soup, cream, milk, or sugar.

Conclusion. Is day old coffee still "day old" if it is still piping hot?

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent thermos
I bought the Nissan travel companion based on the reviews on Amazon and have no regrets whatsoever. I have been delighted with it. My friends were amazed when I told them that the steaming-hot coffee I was pouring in the late afternoon had gone in at 6 a.m. The stainless steel construction seems sturdy and gives the bottle a classy look. Plus, how often are you going to purchase a bottle that says has pouring instructions in Japanese on the stopper?

5-0 out of 5 stars great thermos!
I wanted for something on the go or for around the house. It keeps beverages hot for hours and after 8 hours, it kept it the same hotness as when I put it in!! Could even still see the steam! The cup is nice too and I haven't had a problem that I burned my self. It keeps drinks cold too which is what I wanted too. I can keep it in my car in the holder but since its so high, its not too good to keep it there so I keep in on the seat and so far no spills. It slim and I like the pouring lid so you don't have to take the whole lid off - great thermos and for $20 - a great bargain!!

5-0 out of 5 stars It was well worth it when it cost $30....
It was well worth it when this thermos cost $30, but for $20 it is a steal! I bought it out of necessity for a thermos; its usefulness and function exceeds my expectation. I keep it on my desk, and I find that coffee is still hot well into the afternoon. And it's the perfect size, holding just about half a pot of coffee.

Kudos to Nissan for an exceptional product! ... Read more

Weber's Go-Anywhere charcoal grill makes a great companion for camping and tailgate parties. This compact unit has a surprisingly generous grilling area--large enough to fit four medium steaks. You can lock the lid into place with the pivoting legs and carry this lightweight grill around in one hand. Built-in lid hangers allow you to rest the lid on the side of the grill to create an effective barrier against the wind. The triple-nickel-coated steel grate is easy to clean, and the porcelain-enameled steel lid and cooking box are built to last. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for tailgaiting but never quiet hot enough
I bought this nifty little grill for tailgaiting and to use on the cramped deck of my apartment in the city. For those purposes, it's great -- it folds up into a secure, compact little unit that goes anywhere without a fuss. It's also well constructed and has held together through several years of rough use.

Be aware though that it's definitely not a good choice if you're doing a lot of grilling in one place -- it never quite gets hot enough to work well as a primary grill, even if you leave the cover on and let it preheat before adding your meat. Any wind at all strips the heat right out of it, even with the lid on.

Make sure you stock up on the little gas cylinders or get the tank adapter -- nothing worse than running out of fuel in the middle of a batch of food.

5-0 out of 5 stars Takes a lot of abuse
First of all, despite some comments here that would lead you to believe otherwise, this is NOT a gas grill. The dead giveaway is the word "charcoal" in the product title.

Even though this is designed to be a travel grill (with folding legs that secure the cover in place), I use it as my primary grill. I like to grill at all times of the year so I leave it on the patio all year round and sometimes have to dig through a snowdrift to find it. I'm surprised it hasn't rusted out yet since it has been sitting outside for more than five years. The wood parts are weathered, but still no sign of metal corrosion. When this one eventually goes I'll probably get small round Weber since I really don't need the travel feature.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not outstanding either
It does the job, but as one reviewer said, it doesn't get very, very hot. Hot enough to cook meat well - yes, but the hamburgers don't have a terrific taste, just an average + ordinary taste. This would all be fine if I only paid $24.99 for it, but I paid $49.99. It is well made of good materials, but honestly, I don't see where it's much different from what they're selling at Wal-Mart for thirtysomething dollars or less.

5-0 out of 5 stars BBQ Toolbox!
I had a similarly designed Sunbeam charcoal tabletop that rusted out after 15 years. I had given up on finding a replacement until I saw this gem on amazon. It has the same compact design as the Sunbeam, a stable base, wind resistant grilling, AND THE QUALITY OF A WEBER!!!! The best feature is the folding legs that lock the contents inside the grill and allow easy portability. I know this one will last longer than the pressed metal of the old one. Thank you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Are the kids freezing yet?
This thermometer is addictive. I feel like my grandpa now. If you're getting on in years, this thermometer has huge numbers (1 inch tall x 1/2 inch wide). I can't walk by them without checking the temperature. I have three of them and each base can detect all three sensors (1 in basement, 1 in garage, and 1 upstairs where the kids sleep).

The thermometer even indicates the temperature trend detected from the remote sensors. One reviewer noted that the temperature readings were different in the same room using the remote and base. I can't imagine why, except to say that the manual clearly states that you have to reset both units after installing the batteries.

The base unit can be hung on a nail or stood up like a picture frame. The remote sensor can also be hung on a nail or stood up like a picture frame. The base (main) unit supposedly has temperature alarms although I've never bothered to learn how to use them. I guess this might be nice if you had sensitive electronics or perishable food stored in a place where you wanted to be alerted if the temperature got too high or too low. It also has a temperature memory, which I also haven't bothered to learn how to use. The base displays two temperatures simultaneously - the inside temperature (where the base is located) and one remote sensor at a time. The CHANNEL button changes between sensors. There is also a switch on the back to change the display from Fahrenheit (USA) to Celsius (everybody else).

3-0 out of 5 stars Fickle on range and set up
I love weather and have had several Oregon Scientific instruments and enjoyed owning/using them. This one I bought on clearance for [$] at a local department store. The read-out is great -- big, clear and crisp. My biggest criticism is that I got no where near the distance (90 feet, I believe) claimed to be possible between transmitter and receiver. This forced me to put the receiver (main read out unit) in a place that wasn't as convenient for me. Where I wanted to put it was maybe 60 feet away from the sensor -- well, well within its rated range. It would not consistently hold a signal for that distance. A secondary criticism is the mounting bracket for the remote sensor is of a fairly cheap plastic and I am still not able to really secure it to an outside post. In theory, it slips over a couple of nail heads or screws, but it is not doing that for me. It would have had helped had OS included a paper template to use for drilling the mounting holes.

If you look beyond these criticisms, the price-value equation is favorable. And guess what -- batteries ARE included -- four of them. What a treat!

One other huge advantage: Its operating range on the low end is very good, an important consideration if you live in cold weather state. I don't think it reads to minus 20, which sometimes occurs where I live but when it's that cold, I don't want to know it, either :) Also, this unit runs on regular batteries; some competitive units require very costly lithium batteries.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very dependable
I live in NH where the weather changes by the hour. I have owned 2 of these units for 2 years. Just changed the batteries in all units. (Make sure you hit the reset button on the sensor and main unit in order for them to function)I depend on them a great deal. I have one upstairs facing East. Good in the morning to choose a dress mode. I also have one unit dounstairs facing West. In the Summer the dounstairs unit tells me how hot or cold it got that day. Highly recommend.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Reliable
I have owned two of these units. They both worked for a while (until the warranty ran out) and both failed. Both units will no longer display the outdoor temperture. Oregeon Scientific technical support was of no help.

5-0 out of 5 stars Green house saver
I bought this for my husband and he gave it rave reviews. He put the remote unit in his green house and so far, the results are great. I am trying to find out how to order additional remote sensors. We have 5 acres and we want to monitor the temperature at various spots on the property. We are very pleased with this device and highly recommend it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
This heater is excellent and the perfect fit, for a certain set of requirements.

If you have electricity, use an electric heater. Don't bother with the hassel of propane. The cost isn't too different and the hassel factor is much higher than electricity.

I also don't recommend using the small canisters. That's an inconvinient way to go as well.

BUT. If you don't have power and need a cheap, safe heat source that you can run while you sleep, this is the best one made. Buy the 12' hose, place a 20lb propane tank outside, and run this heater all night with just a small crack in a window or door (just in case!). You will get > 100 hours of heat out of a tank of propane! Less than a buck to run it all night.

Highly recommended under the right circumstances.

5-0 out of 5 stars Carbon monoxide and propane
I don't (yet) have this heater but it is on my wish list.

I'm posting this merely to point out the inaccuracies and potentially DANGEROUS information in the poster who states that propane does not produce CO (Carbon Monoxide). Visit this site and you'll get plenty of information about this: http://www.carbonmonoxidedeaths.com .

Like all fuels, propane gas requires oxygen to burn completely. Appliance malfunctions, vent system blockage and improper installation will reduce the oxygen supply. When this happens, the fuel will not burn properly, releasing CO into the room, and long term exposure can lead to CO poisoning.

A bigger problem here is that in an enclosed area, the propane heater can consume oxygen. In an oxygen-starved room, the propane will continue to burn, and WILL produce carbon monoxide. This manufacturer was smart enough to include an oxygen sensor to avoid this dangerous situation. In fact, this manufacturer is a FOUNDING MEMBER of a Coalition for Portable Radiant Heater Safety. You will find very few portable heaters that are rated for indoor use today. This is one of them and you should be able to use this safely.

2-0 out of 5 stars you people are missing the boat on safety!
the main byproducts of propane combustion are carbon DIoxide and water...not carbon MONoxide. You will expire long before your carbon monoxide detector sounds. It's not what this unit produces, it's what it consumes...oxygen. a little ventilation is all that's required to safely operate this unit, and reduce condensation.
Personally I would never use a radiant heater while sleeping, especially in a tent! Radiant heaters heat THINGS, not AIR,if one of those things being exposed to this radiant energy is highly flammable you'll have a serious problem. I have personal knowledge of a radiant heater (albeit a larger AC model) igniting a stack of paper over 3ft away!
a safer, lower cost alternative might be a catalytic heater like the coleman procat... though it has a much lower btu output, it's heating air...not emitting radiant energy. In a large workshop...radiant...in a tent or the like...catalytic.

1-0 out of 5 stars Save Your Money
I purchased this heater and it was a problem from day one. Out of about one hundred attempts to light, it has only worked three times! The pilot light ignites without problem, but it refuses to work beyond this point. Two out of the three times it worked, it went out when I tried to turn the control from high to low. I have since purchased three butane heaters that work flawlessly. I would not recommend this unit.

2-0 out of 5 stars Can not handle wind or breeze
I bought this with the hope of using it at our kids outdoor sporting events, but, when ever there was a breeze, the heater would shut off. This heater is a perfect size instead of carrying a large propane tank heater, but could not stand up to the elements. Works great with no wind. If they could just make it wind proof, it would be perfect. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

While mowing the lawn may never be considered a recreational activity, this rear bag mower from Black & Decker makes the chore as close to fun as it will ever get. With its 24-volt battery, which delivers 5-horsepower gas equivalent at peak torque, this cordless electric mower represents the top of Black & Decker's line of lawn mowing products. During our field tests, this orange powerhouse stood out above other mowers for ease of use and performance. Its versatile operation allowed us to mulch, bag, or expel the debris from its 19-inch cutting path. Switching between the three methods was as easy as removing the catch bag and the mulch plug--easily performed tasks when the mower is not running.

The most obvious difference between the new generation of electric mowers and the heavier gas-powered mowers of yore is the start-up. The ease with which this mower starts is almost stupefying. Simply pull and hold the thin handle lever, then pull the ignition lever, and presto!--the engine is running. To minimize safety risks to young children, a removable safety key must be inserted prior to starting the mower.

Once started, this mower runs like a dream and is much quieter than older gas-powered models. In addition to the lack of noise, vibrations were also dampened by the cushioned handgrips, a feature that makes mowing a much more comfortable experience. Another innovation is the method by which the mower is raised and lowered. Where once it was necessary to adjust each wheel individually, the height of the mowing platform is now controlled by a single squeeze of a single lever, which allows for seven positions from 1-1/2 to 3-1/2 inches. While this mower is much lighter than a gas mower, we did find that this Black & Decker cordless model, weighing in at 76 pounds, is heavier than its corded relatives.

The only disadvantage this machine seems to have is in the power department. While there were no serious problems during our field test, it was necessary to slow down or go back over thicker sections of grass in order to make a completely clean cut. This cordless model also requires a substantial charging time when first out of the box: the manufacturer suggests at least a 16-hour period initially in order to get peak performance and maximum run time. According to Black & Decker, the battery will be 70% energized with four hours of charging. When fully juiced, this mower can be expected to cut between 1/2 and 1/3 of an acre per charge. Though the charge is one aspect that needs to be considered when deciding whether to purchase a corded or a rechargeable mower, we found the added maneuverability of the cordless over the corded model far outweighs the inconvenience of charge times.

When you've finished mowing, the handles fold back, making it easier to store this mower in a tight garage or shed. It comes with a 30-day no-risk satisfaction guarantee and a manufacturer's full two-year warranty. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars 6 Years and Running...
Huh. I've had one for 6 years now and never had a problem with charge capacity (I wonder if it's because I keep the charger connected all winter when not in use). It's been everything it was advertised to be - quiet, no fumes, reliable, easy to use, economical. I have an average size suburban lawn and have gone up to 3 mowings without recharging. It doesn't make as smooth a cut as a high-vacuum gas mower but that's an acceptable tradeoff considering the advantages (and the only reason I gave it a 4). The reviewer who claims you're using more fossil fuels (and creating more pollution) when using an electric mower is shortsighted. Electric power generation plants have very stringent pollution controls and the net effect is that electric powered devices contribute much less pollution to the environment and waste less fossil fuels than internal combustion engines. That reviewer should do some real research instead of spewing pseudo-science. Besides, the people who use that argument usually pull out a 2-stroke string trimmer to finish the job - talk about pollution (and noise). I'm actually considering buying a new CMM1000 since I gave my old one away. Sounds like there may be some reliability issues with the newer ones (orange, mine was old enough to be green) - I'll have to look into that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works fantastic and I don't miss smelling like fumes!
I have used a Black & Decker CMM1000 19" Cordless mower for over three years. While my lot is 1.5 acres, the open grass area is only about 1/3 of an acre. The battery life is plenty to cut this entire space with no problems. If your lot is bigger, you can still use this mower, you'll just have to break up the mowing over a few hours or two days (to allow recharge time). It can recharge to 50% run-time in only about 2 hours.

I have to echo others that the one lever height adjustment is a great design. It only takes seconds to alter the cutting height. No exhaust means you don't smell like gas fumes, and the low noise is also a plus. I have to say I have not missed the oil changing and other maintenance needed for a gasoline powered mower.

It should be noted that a replacement battery is only about $100. But even now as I head into my fourth year using this mower, I am seeing no loss of run-time from the original equipment battery that came with my CMM1000. Even if I need a $100 battery every five years or so, a maintenance cost that breaks down to only $20-$25 per year is cheaper than the cost of maintenance and gasoline you'd use on the typical gas powered mower over that amount of time.

1-0 out of 5 stars Heavy plastic beast dies after 2 summers
Listen to the negative reviews. I bought a CMM1000 in early 2002. I have a very small lot, no hills - should be an ideal candidate. I had to put it out for large-trash pick up this morning.

It worked OK for the two years it would hold a charge. But it was just OK, not great.

Operation: It's not self-propelled, and it's a good deal heavier than any gas mower I've owned (that battery is a huge, solid chunk). That makes it hard to push, even for a fairly big guy like myself. It has small, hard-plastic wheels that tend to be slippery. I did like not having to keep a full can of gasoline or extra oil around in my garage, though.

Performance: It never cut grass very well, especially on the higher blade settings. Mulched OK, but had no blowing power. I wasn't able to bag clippings, really, because they clogged up in the expulsion chamber. The blowing power is so bad that you can't even blow clippings off your sidewalks with the mower.

Build quality: The entire thing is plastic, except for the blade, handle and wheel axles. The washer that holds the blade on is a tiny piece of plastic with a tiny overlapping edge. Mine wore out after the second time I sharpened the blade and tried to remount it. Even the padding on the handlebars shredded after only three months or so.

Longevity: Here's the worst thing. When I revived it for this year, it lost all ability to cut for more than about 3 minutes at a time. Starts up fine, but bogs down even on normally tall grass. The service center told me I need a new battery, and that's $100 plus installation.

I've always followed the battery instructions to the letter. Biggest waste of four hundred bucks I've ever seen. Wish I could give it negative four stars, but one will have to do.

5-0 out of 5 stars CMM1000 19"
The Black & Decker CMM1000 19" works great, I purchased one to mow around my swimming pool. The mower mows great and holds a charge, the mulching keeps the grass out of the swimming pool while the mowing job keeps the grass looking great. If your looking for a mower that will not only do a good job, but will last, its the Black & Decker CMM1000 19"

2-0 out of 5 stars Not as expected
I have used this mower about 2-3 times. The battery charge lasts about 45 minutes before it goes into yellow region of charge indicator (time to recharge). When cutting grass, the mower leaves some larger blades of grass partially uncut and you have to go back and recut the grass. This is not a big problem if you have a small yard but with a larger yard it can be very frustrating. This problem may be due to the narrow blade on the cordless mower which is much narrower than my gas mower. I have gone back to using my gas mower for most of my mowing since it doesn't choke down nearly as often and I don't have to deal with recharging after 45 min. or going back and recutting grass. ... Says that the time function automatically synchronizes with the US Atomic Clock, providing accurate timekeeping that never needs adjustment--even for Daylight Savings Time however you must be a certain distance from Denver where the clock is.If not (like me) it's a useless feature. While the transmitter for my unit was only 50 feet from the main unit it constantly lost the signal.I returned my first unit thinking it might have been defective; the second unit was the same. That went back also.100 foot range is a bunch of bunk!I would not recommend this item.

Perfect for cookouts, tailgate parties, or car camping, Weber's Smokey Joe Gold grill is the classic traveling grill. With its 14-1/2-inch-diameter grate, the Smokey Joe Gold easily cooks three steaks at a time or twice as many burgers. The porcelain-enameled bowl and lid resist rust and deliver even heat. When it's down, the lid lock doubles as a lid holder, letting you slide the lip out of the way while you cook. And, when the feast is done, simply fasten the lid lock over the top handle, pick up, and go. As an added bonus, Weber throws in a 31-page owner's guide filled with cooking tips and time-tested recipes for grilling everything from pork chops to bratwurst to Cornish hens. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Little Grill for Home or Travel
This is the third little Weber I've had in the past 20 years - I've never worn one out; the first two were stolen! I like the locking handle on the new model. One great feature of these grills is that when you are done cooking, you can close all the vents and the fire will go out in about 15-20 minutes, saving whatever's left of your charcoal for the next time. With the handle locked, it won't spill in the back of your pickup on the way home.

It really does do a great job of cooking, as good as the larger Webers, just for a smaller crowd. We had a Mulberry tree trimmed in our yard and I saved all the chipped up wood to use for smoke flavoring. You still need a charcoal fire for heat; just throw in a handful of chips before you put the meat & corn on the cob in and close the top vent down to make it smoke. Mmmmm, Mmmmm!

You can eat like a gourmet anywhere you tote this to! Just add a cooler full of longnecks.....

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent grill makes great gift
we've used the smokey joe for 10-12 years, had to replace the original 2 years ago. we gave each of our three children one for xmas.you won't find a better grill for steaks, burgers or dogs and we also use it for a slab of ribs occasionly. it vents well, which means you can control how your meat is cooked. the gold smokey is built even better than the original smokey, we will get one as soon as our smokey wears out, maybe 9-10 years from now! don't be fooled by lookalikes, get the weber.

5-0 out of 5 stars We always go back to our Webers...
We have owned a weber of some type for over 25 years, (charcoal that is). This Smokey Joe is the greatest. You can jusify firing up a small load of charcoal for just a few burgers or steaks with this one. Haul in the boat to the beach. Haul it in the car for a picnic. You won't be sorry you spent the $ on this even as a second grill to your big one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for "Cooking on the Road"
The Beautiful Pacific Northwest
This is the perfect charcoal grill for taking on a trip. We recently took an RV trip with friends throughout Oregon/Idaho/Washington. This little grill was perfect for an end of the day BBQ of steaks, chicken, or ribs. The close up and lock handle is perfect for packing it back in the RV. The side and top vents are designed for keeping the coals going and the lack of bottom vents is a PLUS because the ashes stay in the grill, not in your RV storage compartment.

This one exceeded my expectations and allowed us to cook in the outdoors. Thanks Weber!

5-0 out of 5 stars 1978 sloppy joe
In '78 or'79 I bought a Weber "sloppy joe" coal burning barbeque.
It costed over $40.00 back then. It is similar to you "smoking joe" but no clamping handle on top

It's still a favorite of mine, but the name is worn off the handle, and some enamel is missing.

Love that old barbeque. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Weather Station
My weather station works great, everything seems to be dead on accurate. The remote sensor works further away then I thought it would, way out in our backyard. It's probably about 100 feet away and is outside the house. It doesn't have any problem with rain hitting it like I thought it might. Anyone who needs a weather station with the features this has will be happy with this purchase!

5-0 out of 5 stars very nice features
this thing does it all, and is one of the better looking units from oregon scientific.they really need to fire their industrial designer because most of the products look dorky.

i have had no problems with the base unit or the remote transmitter, it can even transmit from inside my freezer!

the only issue i have is i wish the back light stayed on longer (or at least as long as the back light button is pressed).

i highly recommend this unit.

Bodum’s Brazil press utilizes unbreakable polycarbonate for its carafe, which makes this model an excellent choice for campers, students, or travelers who like to make fine coffee on the road. This 12-ounce model is ideal for making just enough coffee to fill a commuter mug. The press method is considered by many aficionados to be the best way to make a perfect cup of coffee, since no paper filter absorbs and removes the essence of the flavor. To make coffee with the press, remove the plunger/top ensemble, add coarse ground coffee to the glass carafe, add hot (but not boiling) water, stir with a spoon, and position the top and plunger in place. Allow the coffee to brew for about four minutes before slowing pushing down on the plunger. Pushing too hard or too quickly may cause hot liquid to squirt out. The domed lid features a slotted spout cover for pouring. To clean, simply scoop out the used grounds and pop the entire unit into the dishwasher. Made in Denmark, the press measures 8-3/4 by 5-1/4 inches and comes with a plastic coffee measuring spoon. --Ann Bieri ... Read more

A lot of my travel takes me to places where good coffee just isn't found (particulary a lot of former British colonies...). This little device is the solution. As easy to use and clean as almost any french press, although the filter screen does not unscrew from the plunger rod. 5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good Grill
I live in an apartment, and was forced to buy an electric because no gas or charcoal grills are allowed. I picked this one, and I will say that I am very, very pleased with this grill. You still put charcoal briquets (included) into it, and it cooks VERY well, with no added tastes that you sometimes get from charcoal or gas grills. Top notch product, for a good price!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great grill alternative...
I have had this grill for about a month now... I did a lot of research since I had to get an electric grill (by to my complex rules). This is a good grill. I cooks like a gas grill except you must keep it covered to cook. The food comes out great, the size is good... I recommend it to anyone with strict complex requirements, I may actually buy one for my father as well.

3-0 out of 5 stars Poor quality pieces
We live in an apartment building that does not allow charcoal or gas grills, we decided to purchase this one. Many of our neighbors have it and the food always tastes great. We are in the process of putting ours together and I can tell you that the construction of the grill is extremely cheap... The screws that come with the grill to attach the accessories do not fit the brackets. So my husband ended up stripping the screws to fit them in. Overall this grill is very poor quality. I guess the old adage is true - they don't make things like they used to.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and maintain
This is the best small grill you can buy. Our priority was a small footprint, and that's what we got. It uses a minimal amount of space and produces the same delicious results as the most expensive large grill. I am a 50 year old woman who is pretty easily frustrated by mechanical devices, but found this easy to build. In fact, I built two of them one summer because my neighbor was so amazed at the quality and ease of use of this grill. The instructions were easy to read and follow. Amazon has an excellent price. I paid more for mine. Buy the plastic cover so you don't have to clean the outside of the grill, too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great to use--the devil to put together!
A wonderful product. It arrives unassembled and was a bear to put together--however we are not the handy types. The 800 helpline was soon on speed dial.

Once assembled, the patio caddy is a jewel. Compact, easy to use, easy to clean, almost invisible on our deck. It's even somewhat portable on its little wheeled base. For the money a great investment...just the right size for us and the way we entertain. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best value for a flashlight
This is the first LED light I have found that can really replace that clunky-yet-popular aluminum brand. This light has a smoother, whiter beam than a Krypton lamp (the kind pretty much all standard flashlights use). Xenon bulbs are brighter than the LED's, but Xenon flashlights only have one bulb that is overheating, delicate, expensive, and inefficient. Instead of just one or two LEDs like cheaper lights, this one uses 7 of the highest quality LEDs I have seen. The LEDs are efficient, run at a low temperature (because they produce so little wasted heat), are durable if dropped, and don't burn out.

It is comparable to a typical light that uses 2 C-cell batteries, but a smoother beam without black spots. A set of 4 AA batteries lasts for the better part of a week, as opposed to the old piece of garbage light you keep in the closet that only goes for about half of a day on 2 C batteries.

If you live in an area where you can lose power for almost a whole day (or occassionally several days in a bad storm), this is a flashlight that you can actually use. Leave it on in the middle of the room until the power comes back so you don't trip on anything. They also make a model that uses C-cells, has 10 LEDs instead of 7, and lasts twice as long.

5-0 out of 5 stars intensely modern and efficient
This slick, multi-LED-bulbed beauty is well worth the premium price (compared to other, more mundane flashlights.) It is well-designed and uses but a fraction of the battery power of its traditional Ray-oVac, etc rivals. It is a broad flood-light pattern, so hold on to your Mag-lites for the smaller, more focused jobs.

2-0 out of 5 stars Streamlight ignors defect, no way to treat customers.
I like this light, it does what I expected except one of the seven LED is out.
I made contact with Streamlight the day my light arrived yet have had NO response,
its been 7 weeks. Is it too much to ask for a product to preform as designed? I paid for a 7 LED light not a 6. All I need is a replacement bulb head.
StreamLight, I hope you see this and change your ways, with good products good service must follow. I would have ordered more but if this is an "AS-IS" product at premium prices I'll look long and hard before spending my money on any streemlight products. I tell it the way I know best and regret negitive info, I hope its just an oversight but have seen others telling the same here at Amazon.

3-0 out of 5 stars LED Failure!
Based on other reviewers' comments, I must have the only faulty example of this flashlight Streamlight has produced. The 4AA performs well indoors, but lacks the light output to be considered adequate for all-around use. Light output diminishes rapidly after only a few hours, and the manufacturer's claims of hundreds of hours of light output are exaggerated. In addition, the LED's in my light began to fail after only about five house of use. First, one LED began blinking and then went out altogether. Finally only three of the seven LED's were burning. I have returned the light to Streamlight with the hopes they would replace this faulty product.

5-0 out of 5 stars The only Flashlight youll ever need
Unless you need a beam that will light up and object 30+ feet away you will consider the battery life and effectivness of this flashlight as worth 3 times its cost. I like this one better than my maglite 4 D battery light. But the mag light is better when you need to see far ahead. Still I would highly recomment this one if you need a general duty flashlight and worry about bulb and battery repacement every 25 hours or so.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best penlight I've tried
The ability to use AAAA-diameter cells from a relatively thrifty and very common Duracell 9V battery is nice, as AAAA standard cells aren't widely stocked. The surprisingly bright little LED draws more than a third of a watt (90mA) from fresh cells, and it shows colors much more vividly than standard incandescent flashlights do.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best $14 I ever spent!
First, I've found all LED lights that make outragous claims of average battery life of dozens to hundreds of hours is either misleading or totally wrong... no matter what brand or where you bought them from. They either go totally dark in much less than half the rated time, or have gone too dim to even read large print with the light pressed closely to the page. To even get close to half the rated life, skip the alkalines, you must use expensive lithium or the highest capacity NiMi rechargables available on the planet.

So they all lie about or misrepresent your actual battery life. I'm sure some of them, if you put the most expensive batteries in the world in them, run the light almost to their rated battery life, if you take them into a fully darkend room, & hold the light to your face, strain your eyes, you will find the LEDs are still glowing very faintly... but that's not useful light.

I haven't found AAAA rechargables or lithiums, but you won't need them.

This is the only LED light I ever found that doesn't give you bull on battery life. It uses a single LED & 3 AAAA alkaline batteries that can be obtained cheap from many sources. Slightly longer than an oridinary pen, I take it everywhere, & is always with me at work. As an engineer, I've used it several times daily for over 6 months with the original batteries. I thought it might be getting a little dimmer so recently put fresh batteries in it. Although it got brighter, not significantly, so I put the old batteries back in. This light just won't die. Lot's brighter than any keychain light, it's as useful as most big lights. It fell 14' from a ladder onto solid concrete, into puddles, snow, & got paint & glue on it. Using harsh chemicals & scraping to get all the paint & glue off, it still looks & works like brand new. I don't know what they used to paint that light with, but there's not a scatch on it anywhere... no dents yet either. Solid & durable. Your best light will be the one that works when you need it to, & is close at hand. Best $14 I ever spent!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good pen light
Streamlight Stylus is a very good pen light. It is surprisingly bright for a single-LED flashlight. And since it uses three AAAA sized batteries, the light won't go dead on you easily.

Stylus has a light switch at the end of the body. The light burns as long as you keep the switch depressed. If you need to have your both hands free, you can twitch the endcap, so you have a constant on light. The body of the flashlight is very well made and durable, and the light switch has a good feel to it. Along with the light, you get a removable sleeve. When the sleeve is on, the light beam is narrower and more focused. If you need a wider beam, just remove the sleeve.

My main gripe about the flashlight is that it is a bit too long. It will probably fit into your shirt pocket, but it is clearly longer than a typical pen. So, it is very uncomfortable to carry the light in your pants pocket, for example. If there were a Stylus that used only two batteries instead of three, I believe that would be a better penlight overall. And if you need a keychain -size flashlight, Stylus is naturally way too big for that application.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Little Light
This is really a terrific light. It uses LED technology whichtells you the following. The "bulb" is virtually unbreakable and appears to have an unbelievable work life (can you believe 100,000 hours). Run that on your pocket calculator see what that comes to in days and years.

Next, even though the LED burns with a pure white brilliance, it is cool to the touch. This is the light I let my 7 year old niece use. Because LEDs draw little power compared to the light they put out, they don't need large batteries. The battery size is AAAA. This allows for a very light weight tool.

If you need both hands free, you can hold this light in your mouth for a long time because of the light weight (no pun!) It also remains in your pocket forever without drawing attention to itself because of its size.

Also of great importance is that this is not just a toy(even though it is fun!) It is a real working tool. I am a physician and this is my little exam light. It works great at examining eyes and throats. You may find it useful in dozens of situations. Because of its size it can go everywhere- home, car, shirt or jacket pocket, purse or briefcase and so on. There are also different colored bulbs for specialty applications I won't go into here.

One of the complaints I have seen is regarding the AAAA batteries. First of all, the batteries last for a very long time because of the low power drain. You may never change the batteries. Secondly, the batteries are freely available at Walgreens which seem to be everywhere these days. They are in the specialty battery section with the hearing aid and photo batteries.I occasionally check and I have always found the AAAA's in stock.

The major limitation is that even though it puts out a lot of light for its size, it is a "pen light". If you need to light a whole room up you will need a bigger light.

Bottom line- this is a really great light. For the price, you can purchase several and leave them wherever you might need them.

LED technology is revolutionizing flashlights in the 21ST century and these lights are classical demonstrations of advanced technology. They do more things:put out more light, use less electrical power, weigh less, are less likely to break, and cost less. Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great in small places
I've had this light for over 6 months. This little light has beena great asset in all of the places I've used it from working on a PC to crawling under a sink. For its size, this flashlight proovides quite a bit of light. The nicest thing is has over a flashlight, other than its easy to carry size, is that is doesn't leave part of the illuinated area dark like you would experience with a normal bulb since this uses an LED. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An Oasis Outdoors.
My husband and children purchased the Castaway Rope Hammock as a birthday gift for me. I love the detail of the craftsmanship. We purchased a frame from a local retailer so that it can be moved around the yard depending on the need at the time. The 13 foot length just fits in the frame. I wanted the hammock, so I could enjoy the out doors with my family. Do to illness, I have to take alot of down time, most of the time it is indoors, because it is hard to get comfortable outdoors. But now, when I need down time, and everyone else is outside, I use my hammock, the large width even allows my children to snuggle and enjoy our time together. It is relaxing, comfortable and just fits my need for an " Oasis".

3-0 out of 5 stars Two people? I don't think so!
The ... description says this hammock can accommodate two adults. Not bloody likely! Maybe if those two adults were Kate Moss and Lara Flynn Boyle; but an average-weight woman and man? Uh-uh. You'd be resting on the bar of the hammock stand; this hammock is way too saggy for that.

I'm a little concerned about the fact that it's made of cotton rope; I think nylon rope would be much more durable and weather-resistant. Still, it's not a bad hammock for the price (free with the purchase of the stand), and it is dangerously comfy. Practically every time I lie down on it, intending to spend some time with a book, I end up taking a nap. D'oh!

I'm going to Scotchguard it and probably still take it in when the weather gets icky. We'll see how long it lasts; I won't feel ripped off if I end up buying a better hammock next year.

5-0 out of 5 stars Try it: You'll like it!
I brought a hammock stand home because I thought it might be something we could enjoy but the store didn't have any more hammocks. I found this one online here at Amazon[.com]. After the hammock arrived, our fun started with hooking it to the stand. We weren't sure how many links to leave hanging; the first try yielded a seat on the ground. It took three tries and a great deal of laughter to get the right height so we could swing, not sit. Now when we can, we thoroughly enjoy relaxing (one at a time, though) in our back yard. I usually take a pillow, the book I'm currently reading, maybe a light cover in case it's a little cool, a clock for when I get curious about the time, and occasionally a snack. Two hours, usually including a nap, can pass like nothing. It's really a neat experience, relaxing and refreshing, and a way to put some calm into craziness. Even my husband, who snickered at the idea at first, has really enjoyed it. He lays on a comforter and says it's totally comfy.

We found the hammock to be well-constructed. It is everything the product description says it is. Somethimes it's hard to judge what a product will be like in "real life" when just a picture is available. However, the description and the product are exact matches. Go for it! You'll have a great time!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not the best - Only buy it if it is free!
I ordered the stand and recieved this hammock for free with it. I am glad it was free as it is cheaply made. The tag on it reads made in India and it looked it. This hammock sinks to the ground when I sit on it. I am a big guy but not close to the 400 pound weight limit I read when I bought it. This thing is only good for free. I am sure it will not last long.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's like it's made of elastic instead of cotton.
I got the hammock/hammock stand combo deal... not such a good deal at all. The hammock is attached to the stand as tightly as possible, without any slack in the chain, and this hammock sags all the way to the ground with just one person. When adding a second, you may as well just lie in the grass.
And it's not as though I was pushing the 400 pound weight limit -- hubby and me combine are barely 250 pounds.
The most unfortunate part is that the expense to return it all negates the refund, so this ends up being over a hundred dollars thrown away. ... Read more
