5-0 out of 5 stars Best thing I bought all year!
I live in an apartment and do a lot of tailgating. This is the BEST grill! I get compliments on it all of the time. No one can believe that it actually does what it claims! It has a big enough grill surface to cook for a party but it is small enough to pack up and take with you. It has become the main grill for home and travel. No one even offers to bring their portable anymore.

It heats up very quickly and nothing sticks to the surface. I have used the grill for steaks, burgers, chicken, and to saute mushrooms and onions. I have never used any sort of non-stick agent. It is wonderful!

It cleans up with just hot water in most cases! I love it so much that I am buying another one for my father for Father's Day!

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled and you'll be pleased
I love the Grill-2-Go. I use it every summer to cook in the Sierra Nevadas whilst waiting for the fireworks to start. The trays are stored on the inside of one of the legs. The legs fold neatly underneath. But, IT IS NOT AN OPEN FLAME GRILL. Sure, you'll lose some of the charcoal or propane aftertaste in your food. But you won't have to clean up the burned, oily bits that usually fall through a grill. The whole flame is covered by a teflon(?) griddle. It doesn't show in the picture very well, but on the side, there is a fat trap, or fat collector. The reason why the Grill-2-Go has a level, is so that the grease will flow 'downhill' into the fat trap. From things like hot dogs, which exude little fat, almost nothing flows to the trap. But for larger meaty items, steaks and so on, the fat trap works well. If your looking for something that is portable, easy to clean, and to be used in situations where you are 'roughing it' this grill is ideal.

4-0 out of 5 stars WE USE IT ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!
My husband bought this grill last summer. It has George-Foreman-type grilling plates inside..NO MORE MESSY GRILLS!! Oh, this grill makes grilling fun again! We just throw the heavy plates right into our dishwasher! No more scraping, grease fires, messy charcoal. I love it!

The orange portion of the grill (It has a briefcase style closure) pops off the black legs and you can take it camping, picnicing, or anyplace you can think of. It's lightweight and easy to carry or throw in your backseat or trunk.

However, I only gave this product four stars, because, while the grill is incredible, the black legs are made from hard plastic. They seem a bit "cheap" to me as compared to the grill itself. They are not flimsy, and I do need to say that while they may be plastic, you have to keep in mind the grill in whole doesn't weigh very much. So, It really doesn't matter much in the in the long run, unless you are very finicky.

This is a fantastic compact grill(the namebrand speaks for itself). Forget the mess of others. Just a note of advice: the grill has some black plastic grilling utensils in the box...if they are not to your liking, make sure you use ONLY plastic on the grilling plates. If you don't, the protective non-stick coating will be damaged. Happy Grilling!

5-0 out of 5 stars Camping Helper
We took the portable grill on a camping trip without having ever had a trial run. We had an old Coleman stove for a backu0 for a backup. This product was the hit of the trip. I had never cooked using gas before. I was not sure that the grill would stand up to repeated use because of the dertachabvle legs. We had no problem. We cooked breakfast and dinner. We had eggs and bacon one morning, and pancakes the next, using the griddle attachment. We grilled salmon, using the grilling plate for dinner. We had a lot of rain, and the others kept saying that my grill saved the day! The campers were six adults, ranging in age from 55 to 65.

We are going to capm for a few days this year also. They keep saying, be sure to bring your grill. It took up only a modest amount of space.

One problem. I am trying to buy additional grill and griddle plates. One of each comes with the grill and I want to have two of each. I cannot find how to do that online. I'll try the telephone number.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Litte Grill in Green Harbor
I love my grill. After reading the poor reviews, I was motivated to write a positive one. This is the easiest, most portable grill I have ever owned. From set up to cleaning, I cannot imagine what I did without it. The small propane canisters are a snap to attach. You don't have to lug huge tanks to be refilled anymore. The grill top comes off and can be carried to the kitchen sink to be washed off, or you can hose it down outdoors. This has made outdoor cooking far more pleasurable than it has been in years. A+ for my little red grill!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tailgaters - this is your grill!
I ordered this grill once I saw the price drop to $$$$ with free shipping (and the bbq tools bonus). I purchased it mainly for tailgating since I have a nice Webber for home use.

Setup
The grill was VERY easy to set up initially (it comes assembled, except for the wheels which were easy to attach). The side trays (2 of them) slide on and off easily. The gas canister (not included) attaches in two simple steps.

Use
The grill goes up and down by use of a foot pedal. It doesn't go down as easy as it goes up, but this could be me getting use to it. You light the grill through the use of a "sparker" button. You can also light it with a match and an extension wand. The side trays also hold the tools that come included (tongs, spatula, and grill scraper). The grill portion is about 2/3 of the entire grill with the flat griddle taking up the final 1/3. Grease dips along a channel into a collection jug.

Cooler
The top slides off for access. There are cup holders in the top of the lid (not very useful though). There is a drain plus in the side at the bottom. The cooler kept ice for over 24 hours in 90 plus degree heat. It held a bottle of wine, six beers, two steaks, two medium tupperware containers, and six bottles of water - with space left over. There is a bottle opener on the side of the grill.

Clean up
The tools that come with the grill are plastic (because of the non-stick nature of the cooking surface). The grill top itself comes off and can be cleaned in the sink (the back of it is unfinnished so I would not put it in the DW). The grease jug cleans easily as well.

Downside
(1) In windy conditions (like a parking lot for tailgaiting) you could have a tough time lighting the grill. There are holes in the back of the grill itself, bring the wind in. I turned the grill out of the direct wind and it lit well.

(2) Heat - now this could be the temp gauge, but it never showed the grill getting hot enough to cook (it shows three levels - warming, cooking, and too hot). It was always on the high-end of warming. Now the food coooked fine (two thick steaks and some roast potatoes), and this could be me getting used to the grill, but I wanted to mention it.

(3) Weight of the grill. With a full cooler the grill is heavy. It has two side handles (and a pulling strap), but it was tough getting it in and out of the back of our minivan.

Overall - I love this grill. We went to the Springsteen concert the other night and had a half dozen people come up and ask us about it - someone thought it cost $$$$. The guys across from us had the same grill without the cooler and were jealous of the cooler.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great cooler, okay grill
I bought the fire and ice grill from amazon and had the same delay in shipping problems and damages that other people refered to, nothing I wasn't expecting. I also saw one at walmart that was dented during shipping. I'm sure I'll put a few dents in it myself, so who cares.

The cooler is top-notch! Unlike most coolers, if you want to get something out of it, you don't have to take everything off of the top because it slides back to open instead of tilting up. We brought the cooler to the beach because of the big tires and someone figured out how great a feature that is. They also thought it looked great!

My grill doesn't get that hot, I'm not sure if it is defective, but it is an issue. I'll recomend it still because no one else has really said anything about the heating and I think it is just mine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Now you're cooking!
We bought the grill for 128 dollars to take camping at Dave Matthews this summer. I logged on today and it's up to 150 now. Ouch! It's very worth it though. It's very classy and compact. I love the grilling size and I'm looking forward to having this baby at the concert.

Only downfall is the shipping. This isn't shipped UPS. It's shipped from some company called Eagle and they don't deliver on the weekends because their contract with Amazon doesn't let them. Most people work M-F and they only deliver M-F 8-5. Not everyone is available during that time. It took us two weeks to even get our grill because of this.

Other then that I'm thrilled and would suggest this grill to anyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fire & Ice Thermos Grill
We have found this grill to be perfect for camping out. It can handle breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cooler is great extra space for storing condiments, cold salads and lunch meats.

We look forward to using it for tailgating this football season. The cooler should handle keeping the meat cold going to the game and store drinks while cooking.

We also use the grill at home for meals when it's too hot inside to heat up the stove. We've really used it everywhere for quick grilling.

We still use our big grill for briskets, ribs, turkey and other big items.

4-0 out of 5 stars Like it but...
We bought this for a camping trip and got lots of oohs and aahs from everyone who saw it. Overall we liked it but it lacks one crucial element--a burner. The entire cook surface is non-stick so you can't really place a pan or skillet on it to cook. You're supposed to put the food directly on it but what if you are warming up chili? Water? It's great for burgers or bacon but you can't put just anything on it. I would think it would be more appropriate for tailgaiting than camping where you need it to do a bit more. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I works for me
I bought the Express from Lowes when they first came out. There was also the Red Grill 2 Go that doesn't have wheels and is a little less outdoorsy than this one. The problem is mine got stolen out of the back of my truck, and it seems like it's not available in stores anymore. They all just carry the Red or silver. I think the biggest difference is the wheels, but to me they are a big advantage. I have the Fire & ICe too, but like the Grill 2 Go for outdoor parties (especially at seattle's alki beach!)
Amazon comes through again. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Ugh, this thing is terrible
Where's the heat?! Where's the flame? If you like cooking hamburgers on a frying pan, this is for you? If you want flame broiled burgers and hot dogs, stay away from this. I got rid of mine and immediately bought a Weber Baby Q for the same price as this thing and it's an infinitely better product.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the Money
For the money, I have been pleased with this grill. It generates more heat that I expected. Certainly, there are better grills on the market, but for a portable grill that produces good heat at a great price, this is the one. The base is stable, the temp gauge is handy, and the removable and dishwasher-safe cooking plate makes clean-up a little easier (but good luck finding a dishwasher that will fit it). My only real complaint is that the unit is difficult to carry around because the grill unit does not latch onto the base so much as it sits on it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Price
Just saw this same grill at Menards for $89.95 today

2-0 out of 5 stars price comparison
You can buy the same grill at Lowes for $117.00

2-0 out of 5 stars Convenient but where's the heat?
Convenient, compact and looks great on the porch/back of your truck but what about the heat? I'm an Aussie and I like my "barbies" hot! Okay for cooking small amounts of meat but if you want to slap on a steak for a quick grilling, a more substantial hot plate would be nice. ... Read more
