Got A Few Hours To Spare??
Ever wonder where the quality control people from Chernobyl ended up? They're at the Strathwood company! Although this is a good-looking chair, particularly for the money, none of the pieces fit together. I needed a saw and extra nuts and bolts to put the chair together. I should have learned by now that the term "Allen Wrench" is furniture talk for "Buyer Beware". Get out the tool box and have fun!

Great way to relax!
On behalf of my parents (this was a Mothers' Day present and my father helped to assemble it), this is a great chair! Assembly was quick with clear directions. The wood is wonderful and based on taste, can take on different colors due to the use of oil or not. Extremely comfortable and a beautiful addition to any yard, garden or patio. Design flaw makes this inappropriate for outdoor use
I thought there were a number of pros and cons to this piece.

PROS: Solid wood, nice looking. Looks cute all set up.

CONS: 1. The biggest con is that the top of the table is slatted. This would be OK if not for the plastic bin that fits underneath a removable part of the tabletop. Because this part of the top isn't solid, when it rains this little bin will fill up with water and give you a nice fish tank!
2. Assembly issues - my bench didn't come with enough of the long screws, I hope this is not common. Also, the pegs didn't always align exactly with the holes, but I fixed this by hammering them a bit. That little allen wrench was horrible. I wish I had thought of putting it into my drill, because it made the thing take forever to put together. I also wasn't as impressed by the quality of the wheels as others. The brass parts are nice, but the wheels themselves are nothing great.

All in all, I think I would have gotten a different product, and returned this one if I had bought it locally.

However, it is cute to look at, and the wood is nice, if you keep it inside or take the plastic bin out when not in use. It WAS cheap, but I think the company could fix these small issues to make this thing more worth the effort.

Nice piece for the money
The product arrived quickly and in good shape. It is well constructed out of solid wood. For the price you can't beat it. I received free shipping which, made it even a better deal.

Would be nice if everything arrived
This is a nice potting bench for the price if everything arrives and is in good shape. My shipment was poorly packaged. The plastic tub had several cracks in the bottom, and the top wood piece was missing. I hope I can get the items from the manufacturer. It may turn out to be a nice purchase in the end, but right now, it's not. Update: I wrote a letter to Strathwood and they responded immediately with a phone call offering to send me a replacement soil bin. They were unable to send me just the missing wood piece, but offered to send me the entire potting bench. The only difficulty was I would have to return the first potting bench, which is reasonable, except that I had already assembled it. After taking the time to put it together, I don't want to disassemble it. Strathwood said if I changed my mind, just call. They seemed genuinely concerned that I was satisfied with their product/service. I'll just get some wood to finish off the bench (the missing piece was decorative, and not essential to the structure of the bench), and consider this a good purchase.

Good for the Price!
I ordered one of these..arrived on time and in good condition. It is made in Vietnam.....Quality is OK with some overkill. For instance the machined bronze wheel axles and fittings far exceed the quality of the rest of the piece, .....heavy duty brass screws go in with an allen wench..I' still be screwing them in if I had'nt cut off the wrench and chucked it into my cordless drill...the removable wood piece will not fit in flush if the cheap plastic soil bin is in place .....I bought it for a barbecue cart next to my grill on the deck so I didn't care about that anyway..I give it 4 stars for the price/quality mix......If you are into heavy duty potting buy a better one............. ... Good Bench for a Good Price
I bought two of these to face eachother in a small patio near the children's play structure, and the wood matches nicely. They will probably get the most use from the kids, sometimes by me (am 5'2"), and sometimes guests. My husband felt they were a bit small (he's 5'11") and not totally comfy. I have looked and looked at garden benches, and this is a great price for a hardwood bench that looks nice. If they were going to be sat in every day, I would've bought Arirondaks, but we all know how much those are and I didnt need that. But for occaisional and decorative outdoor furniture, I am very happy. The free shipping is a great thing as well, as they showed up on my doorstep and I put both together and put them in my garden in 30 minutes. I'll give them a 5 if they still look good in two years or so.

OK for the money
For the money, I would have to rate this acceptable. It is very easy to put together, just a few allen screws, insert the bench seat on top (seat is not bolted to the frame, a slight detriment), and you are done. It took all of 5 minutes (I used a bigger allen wrench I had, the one that comes with it has a very short shank - I imagine it would take a lot of torque to tighten up the bench with it). The product is labeled as made in Vietnam, and the wood looks and feels to be of reasonable quality. It is not the most comfortable bench, and though my wife sits in it fine, the seat is fairly short for me - my legs hang over quite a bit farther than I would like. It would not be a bench I would sit in for hours being comfortable. Otherwise, the design seems to be acceptable, the parts fit reasonably well and after tightening the screws, it feels solid, again other than the bench seat. It is attractive and in my opinion doesn't look overly "cheap". I bought this bench as a test bench, if I liked it a lot I was going to buy another one. Not good quality at all.
I have had similar problems to many of the reviewers of this item. The glider was not packed well at all, without padding of any kind, and the bolts fixed on the end pieces caused damage to other pieces. I decided I could probably live with a scuff or two, and began my attempt to assemble the glider. One would not expect this to be difficult with pre-drilled holes and minimal hardware, but it was a major pain. The holes don't line up, the wood is very soft, the instructions are vague as to what should be tightened and when, and the whole thing was very frustrating. I finally ended up drilling my own hole in one instance, and when it was finally put together, the assembled piece seemed quite flimsy. I notified Amazon, and they wanted to send a replacement, but there was no way I was going to the trouble of disassembling that stupid thing to return the original, just to have to go through the frustration of assembling another shoddy piece of work. It was such a pain to put together in the first place. So, I cannot recommend this glider at all, I'm afraid. First major disappointment in a purchase on Amazon, but I have to say that customer service was excellent from the Amazon folks. I'm giving this two stars instead of one because it still looks fairly nice on the porch, even though I wouldn't trust it to stand up to very much use over time.

Worth $100 -- get what you pay for
Overall, this is a decent glider for $100. It looks nice out of the box, but looks even better if you apply a couple of extra coats of teak oil right away.

This is not a sturdy piece of furniture, but will accomodate two 150 lb or less people well. While functional, I think this piece is better suited for display.

The assembly instructions are poor, but if you're a handy person who has built pre-fab furniture before, you should be able to do this in about 30 minutes. The trickiest part of the install is getting the little round inserts with the threaded hole to stay in place while you align the screw. In the box I received, there was an extra screw and I assume this is to thread into the end of the round pieces so that you can hold them into position while you insert the mounting screw. The instructions did not say this, so it is only my assumption...perhaps the screw packer at the factory just dropped an extra one in my bag by accident. :)

I'm giving this 4 stars because it met my expectations. If you're looking for a quality piece of furniture that will last for years, then this is probably not the best choice.

Pretty But Not To Sit On
I gave this one star as we are on our second glider with both being broken. The first one broke the first time we sat on it. Neither my husband nor I are large people so we were surprized the underside seat cracked. We sent it back and received a second glider. It is now sitting in our backyard cracked and broken on the right leg base. Amazon.com is not to blame. The manufacturer, Strathwood, has created a weak product that should not be sold to consumers until they can correct the problem and create a glider that can withstand weight. We assumed being a two-seater glider that it was intended to be sat on but we are afraid to get near it. Also, my two year old sat on it and it rocked backwards and she fell off. It is not easy to assemble and took my husband (who is a tool guy) many hours to get together. I appreciate Amazon.com's efforts to help replace and/or give me a refund. I regret that we still don't have a useable glider in our backyard.

A bit weak, I'm afraid
Bought this for my wife and she absolutely loves it! The only problem is that the seat crossbar broke in half about the 3rd time she sat on it... and she only weighs about 130 lbs... I weigh 260 and wouldn't dare sit on it...
But I called customer service and they are sending me a replacement, so I have to put a checkmark on the positive side on this one...

Pretty but Very Uncomfortable-
I ordered two of these and they were promptly shipped. The wood is extremely soft and had no real difficulty in putting together but they back is HORRIBLY uncomfy. I had about ten different people try and sit and the position is horribly uncomfy. Please take my warning and DO NOT buy this unless you just want something to look pretty in your garden. There were some gouges and the instructions did not tell you how much to tighten the bolts for the swing mechanism but it does look ok. Looks nice but not comfortable
Unless you have a short upper body or very long arms, this chair is not as nice to sit in as it is to look at. The arm rests sit too low for the average size 5'5" person. My 6' husband could not rest his arms on the arm rest either. Love the look of the chairs but if I had known, I would have bought something more comfortable. Now we are trying to find someone to give them to.

Looks like you paid more
Very, very happy with this purchase. Easy to assemble (you don't even need the instructions) Because the table came a few weeks before the chairs arrived, they didn't match exactly. So we used the same protective stain we used on the table, and now the entire set looks just beautiful. It's a wonderful buy for the price. My only complaint is that the chair backs could be just a little bit higher and although the actual chair seat is not attached to the chair frame, you will feel secure while seated. Other than that, you should be happy with Strathwood's product line.

Worth the price!
These chairs are very easy to assemble and were well finished and studily constructed. There was only one problem, the arm of one chair was split where the pegs hold it to the front legs. Rather than go to the trouble of sending it back, and as it is not a weight bearing part, we stuck it together and the chair is perfectly fine.

These chairs are beautiful, and really easy to assemble. It took all of 10 minutes to assemble each chair and that was with the help of my 8 month old little boy! The only dissapointment is that the cushions we bought for them dont fit. I believe they are meant to be without cushions. Great Deal!!!
As a professional woodworker, I was immediately enticed to buy two of these. Just from the pictures, I figured; How can I go wrong? I can always return them if they don't meet my expectations. Looks good
So far we haven't even finished putting it together, since they didn't put enough screws in the package and the holes they drilled were to small so we stripped the screws putting them in, my husband had to go and get more screws to put it together, took forever to get this, haven't even sat on it, so I hope things get better, will write another one after it's put together.

Fell Apart
We purchased two of these chaises and the wheels came apart and the chairs developed cracks. The glue turned white and desolved all within a month. We glued and clamped everything back together and sprayed them with spar varnish in hopes of salvaging them. We had also purchased the matching bistro set which had the same problems. Hopefully they will last awhile now. recommed you spray with outdoor varnish before you place them outside.

Great Value and Great Customer Sevice
I ordered 4 chaises, 4 cushions and 4 tables and was impressed with the quality. Chaises 3x this price were no better. I was missing a few pieces of hardware but called company on a Sunday and left voicemail. Monday a.m. I received a call from them and they FedEx'd the parts that day and had them in hand 2 days later. Great job and thank you. Highly recommend these chaises and they are quite easy to put together...15 minutes per. Enjoy

Nice chair for the price
We recently bought two of these chairs to go on our deck. Unfortunately one arrived broken, but Amazon were excellent in replacing the chair very fast. Despite this first hiccup the chairs look fantastic and are a nice addition to the space. The down side is that they are rather narrow, they leach alot of the stain on the deck when they get wet (hosing them down a couple of times stopped that from happening again), and I believe the wood struts would break if you silly enough to stand on the chair. Break too easily
I agree - the chairs look pretty good (except for the stickers). I also ordered several other pieces but so far the only problem I have had is with the folding chairs. The first night I bought them, I was sitting on the porch with some friends and my chair just broke. A few minutes later, my buddy's chair broke, too. We were just sitting on them. Amazon was very nice and quick about sending replacements - but I am a bit concerned about how they will hold up, as well. It might be worth it to get the Adirondacks or another company's folding chairs. These just don't seem to hold up too well.

Strathwood Folding Bistro Chairs
I bought this furniture not expecting very much because it was so cheap in price. I can say I was surprised when I received it and that exceeded my expectations. It passes off as a real close teak look alike. The folding chairs in particular are fairly sturdy with no noticeable leaning when shifting around in them. The only two minor complaints that I have are that the folding chairs are a little low for me (I am 6'1") and that the "Made in Vietnam" sticker was a pain the a** to remove and requires some adhesive remover to get off.
