On top of that, it's PERFECT for those with small apartment style balconies. It's economical on gas-- I use it pretty regularly and have yet to go through an entire large tank of propane in over six months of use. It's the perfect size if you're grilling a quick steak or two (or up to 6 or 7 hamburger patties) for one person. The grill itself has the large gratings that leave pleasant, savory grillmarks on the meat. It's easy to clean, and doesn't cling onto charcoal and carbon like other grills seem to. The lid also has thoughtful little hooks on the inside part of the assembly screws, making it easy to hang the lid on the lip of barbeque itself instead of having to set it down somewhere. The little temperature guage on the front is useful for telling how fast the inside grill temp is heating up (essential for preheating the grill, something you should always do before cooking), although I don't rely on its accuracy in cooking/timing meat. This is a great grill, a great idea, and great execution at a very attractive price. It's shown that it holds up extremely well after nine months of use, and I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Those with the space/backyards and multi-family sized barbeque needs should look elsewhere, but just looking at it should tell you that. For the rest of us doing some quick grilling for 1-2 people, this could be the perfect grill.
My ex-wife got the grill, so I just bought another one yesterday. The quality and great features are still there.

Once assembled, the patio caddy is a jewel. Compact, easy to use, easy to clean, almost invisible on our deck. It's even somewhat portable on its little wheeled base. For the money a great investment...just the right size for us and the way we entertain. ... Read more

It heats up very quickly and nothing sticks to the surface. I have used the grill for steaks, burgers, chicken, and to saute mushrooms and onions. I have never used any sort of non-stick agent. It is wonderful! It cleans up with just hot water in most cases! I love it so much that I am buying another one for my father for Father's Day!
The orange portion of the grill (It has a briefcase style closure) pops off the black legs and you can take it camping, picnicing, or anyplace you can think of. It's lightweight and easy to carry or throw in your backseat or trunk. However, I only gave this product four stars, because, while the grill is incredible, the black legs are made from hard plastic. They seem a bit "cheap" to me as compared to the grill itself. They are not flimsy, and I do need to say that while they may be plastic, you have to keep in mind the grill in whole doesn't weigh very much. So, It really doesn't matter much in the in the long run, unless you are very finicky. This is a fantastic compact grill(the namebrand speaks for itself). Forget the mess of others. Just a note of advice: the grill has some black plastic grilling utensils in the box...if they are not to your liking, make sure you use ONLY plastic on the grilling plates. If you don't, the protective non-stick coating will be damaged. Happy Grilling!
We are going to capm for a few days this year also. They keep saying, be sure to bring your grill. It took up only a modest amount of space. One problem. I am trying to buy additional grill and griddle plates. One of each comes with the grill and I want to have two of each. I cannot find how to do that online. I'll try the telephone number.

I really liked this grill at first, but found that it is not designed to be left outdoors. The instructions say you can't use it indoors either. After the first rainstorm, the fancy battery operated electronic ignition quit working. I opened the apparently weatherproof battery compartment and found it was full of water. I let it dry out for a week, retightened and rechecked everything, but had the same problem after the next rainstorm. I called CharBroil and they told me, "Oh.... You can't expect your grill to work if you leave it outside in the rain!" Glad I bought an all-stainless steel grill! By the way, a lot of the rivets and screws holding the grill together are rusting - after only 6 weeks of use. Instead of the older style gas burner under briquettes, this grill has the burner directly under the cooking surface. It requires less preheating, but I think I liked cooking over briquettes better. This grill uses a drip pan that drains into a grease cup. The grease cup fills up with water when it rains. The drip pan must be cleaned a lot more often than I would like. My old grill didn't use a drip pan. All the grease just burned off and added to the char broiled flavor. I would probably not buy this grill again. I looked at a lot of grills before I made my purchase. I really didn't like the apparent durability of any of them. The grill I bought did not live up to my expectations. I figure that if I am going to be dissatisfied, I can be dissatisfied for a lot less money! ... Read more

Setup Use Cooler Clean up Downside (2) Heat - now this could be the temp gauge, but it never showed the grill getting hot enough to cook (it shows three levels - warming, cooking, and too hot). It was always on the high-end of warming. Now the food coooked fine (two thick steaks and some roast potatoes), and this could be me getting used to the grill, but I wanted to mention it. (3) Weight of the grill. With a full cooler the grill is heavy. It has two side handles (and a pulling strap), but it was tough getting it in and out of the back of our minivan. Overall - I love this grill. We went to the Springsteen concert the other night and had a half dozen people come up and ask us about it - someone thought it cost $$$$. The guys across from us had the same grill without the cooler and were jealous of the cooler.
The cooler is top-notch! Unlike most coolers, if you want to get something out of it, you don't have to take everything off of the top because it slides back to open instead of tilting up. We brought the cooler to the beach because of the big tires and someone figured out how great a feature that is. They also thought it looked great! My grill doesn't get that hot, I'm not sure if it is defective, but it is an issue. I'll recomend it still because no one else has really said anything about the heating and I think it is just mine.
Only downfall is the shipping. This isn't shipped UPS. It's shipped from some company called Eagle and they don't deliver on the weekends because their contract with Amazon doesn't let them. Most people work M-F and they only deliver M-F 8-5. Not everyone is available during that time. It took us two weeks to even get our grill because of this. Other then that I'm thrilled and would suggest this grill to anyone.
We look forward to using it for tailgating this football season. The cooler should handle keeping the meat cold going to the game and store drinks while cooking. We also use the grill at home for meals when it's too hot inside to heat up the stove. We've really used it everywhere for quick grilling. We still use our big grill for briskets, ribs, turkey and other big items.

We had our first bbq today and after a few tries to ignite the grill, everything worked out fine. The food cooked evenly and plenty of space to prep food.
For a two-burner grill it has plenty of cooking area, more than enough to cook for a bbq with 10-15 people. Porcelain grill is easy to clean up. I cook on it about 2-3 tims a week. ... Read more

After assembly, I hauled the included tank to the gas station, and had them fill 'er up. I performed all the required leak tests when getting home, but did not use it for a couple of weeks. Yesterday, I fired it up for the first time and started letting it preheat. That went just fine. I then went inside to start getting out the hot dogs I wanted to grill. After a couple of minutes, my wife came to inform me that the grill was smoking and flames were poofing out the side. I figure this is just finish smoking some, and she is overreacting. My mistake. I get there just in time to watch a jet of Liquid Propane shoot out of the side of the regulator assembly that attaches to the tank. I of course immediately shut off the burners, scooted the grill to the other side of the deck and shut the tank valve while I waited for the puddle of explosive propane to boil off. Quite an exciting few seconds. I can only imagine what would have happened if the leak was pointed at the hot bottom of the grill instead of the ground. What I figured happened is that the regulator seals were good enough to seal at room temperature. However, when the regulator was chilled by the actual flow of propane (something that does not happen in a static leak test), the metal contracted, the rubber lost elasticity, and the seals failed catastrophically. Think Challenger. While this defect may have been a random fluke, I will definately have the fire extinguisher handy when I have the replacement part in hand. If that leaks too, back to the hardware store it goes. UPDATE: As a side note, as I was disassembling it to fit in my brother's SUV for the trip back to the store, I noticed that several parts were already rusting after only 2 1/2 months, all of it under a grill cover. What an unmitigated piece of junk, backed by truly pathetic service. ... Read more
