Patio Whimsy

Beautiful Piece
I opened the box and first was impressed by the packaging. Packed very well in biodegradable tiny accordion papers. The picture on the Web does not do it justice. The detail and weight are wonderful. It brings a smile to you face. This is the first piece of Carruth Studio I own and it definately won't be the last. If you like faery's this a definate to have in your collection.

Again...I love Carruth!
I just received my thermometer and it is more beautifully detailed in person than the picture can depict...even down to the little worm, snail and ladybug crawling along. Every Carruth item I have bought brings me cheer and this item is a welcome addition to my house. I can not suggest enough that Carruth is the way to go! This item is sturdy yet delicate in detail.

You'll need glasses!
While this little plaque is cute as a bug, it is teeny! I was shocked to find it was no bigger than the palm of my hand. Silly me to assume I was getting somethin about a 5X7 size.

Very Small!
If you are looking for a paper weight this is for you. If you are looking for decorations to sit in your garden, think again.

Pappa was very pleased
Trying to find an appropriate gift for pappa wasn't real easy. First, at my dad's age he doesn't really need anything. He lives in the desert and leads a very simple life. He was so pleased. He loves the darling angel. He was so excited to tell me all about it. He was really really impressed on how carefully it was packaged and the wrapping was very nice. I wasn't sure if he would like the gift. I thought he would put it in his cactus garden. Nope. It sits right above his computer on a shelf so he can see it every day. He adores it. He mentioned that behind the girl there are engravings, I think he said flowers or a garden. I can't remember. In the picture shown it doesn't show this detail. He was so pleased with care Amazon had given to assure his little treasure didn't get damaged. I know it is a gift that anyone would love even an old cowboy! You won't go wrong...priceless.

Little Angel
Having only in recent years become an avid gardener, I'm now reaching a point where I feel my flowerbeds are impressive enough to warrant decorative items. The Annabelle Stone was my first decoration for a bed of mums and pansies.

I apparently did not read the description well when ordering and was quite disappointed to see that my stone was only 3 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches. I would have liked something at least 8-10 inches tall, as it's already becoming a challenge to find a spot in my flowerbed that's bare enough to display such a tiny stone.

My granddaughter thinks the little angel is a likeness of her, so I guess that it's worth the purchase price for her to feel she has a special place in my garden! ... Read more

beautifully symbol of time and honor
This sculpture, no wait! Masterpiece is a testiment to time and will power of man! The frog on top of a round stone with the word "welcome" painstakeningly engraved upon the gray stone will work wonders in your magic elvish garden as it has done to mine. Your elves will bring back their elvish archers and send out their magical horns with signs of peace and harmony. Replacement Glass Tube

I don't own this particular rain gauge but one similar, and like many others have a broken glass. I found two good places for replacement glass:

www.plowandhearth.com - product #9128 - has them for $1.95 with shipping $3.99 (unless you also order more stuff, shipping charge varies with order)

Love / Hate relationship...
...with Mr. Froggy. I, too, lost the tube part of the gauge. Well, let me restate that: I know where it is (hence, technically not lost) but it's not like I can get to it. That's going to require some scoping. Seems like there's no end in sight.

Regardless, prior to that bad experience this was the hands-down favorite on my deck. I spent hours staring, staring....waiting to see who would make the first move. I ALWAYS LOST!! I'LL SHOW YOU.

..see how you like the dark. Hm? You like it? Anyway, I've got to get a replacement tube.

I will rate this a 5 if I am able to replace the glass tube for the rain gauge. Mine broke, and if I cannot replace the glass tube, then the entire piece has far less value -- right now no value.

Delightful, but dimensions would be nice
My plaque arrived - with that delightful smile, but it was a bit smaller than I had anticipated. I don't know why, but based on the photo, my husband and I both expected the plaque to be at least 5x7". Turns out it's more like 3 1/2x5 1/2". Somewhat of a disappointment considering the cost of .... It would be nice if ...printed the dimensions of products like this. Despite my disappointment in the size, the plaque IS wonderful and has generated many favorable comments from our friends who have seen it.
