Measurement of product
While this product is excellent it took me a long time to decide whether to purchase it. In the specifications, the length is listed twice as being 25-inches. This is incorrect.
The actual length is 22.5-inches, the length required for my Genesis Silver C Grill. I took the chance that the specs were wrong ... and I was right.

Stainless Steel Flavorizer Bars
The bars were represented to be 25 inches long. In fact they measured 22&9/16 inches long. The required length is 23&7/16 inches. In either case they won't fit. I am in process or returning.

Very good; just a little heavy & runtime is short if edging
This does a good job of trimming and edging. I have used a corded Toro trimmer and I have to say that the cordless convenience more than makes up for the fact that this is quite a bit heavier than the corded models. Run time for trimming is about 30 minutes if not held on constantly. However, the run time when edging is very short, probably about 10-15 minutes. It does a good job edging, but it takes a little longer than a dedicated edger and does not cut quite as deeply or as narrow a swath. But the steel guide makes it fairly easy. I have found you will be pretty worn out because of its weight by the time the battery runs down anyway, so it's time for a break. In about an hour, it will charge back to about 1/4 capacity after being fully drained; 1/2 after about 2 hrs and maybe 2/3 after 3 hours. Then the charging slows down a bit (takes about 12 hrs to get close to capacity. After that, the green light comes on to let you know it is trickle charging the battery.

The assembly was straight-forward, just a few screws to attach the guard to the bottom. During operation, it is a little noisy, but I think it helps a bit if you get the screws on tightly enough to keep the guard from rattling. Overall, it can cut well and requires no bumping to release the string. When edging, I did notice that the edger does a better job once a new section of string is released. I think that is because it is a bit longer and can cut deeper into the dirt.

Very convenient tool for suburban trimming.
I have owned my Grass Hog for over a year now...and still love it. It offers the best features of gas-powered and electric trimmers. First, no gas to buy, no oil to mix, no plugs to foul, no noise and vibration and no trying to get the engine started plus no need to fuss with dragging an electric cord around. The battery sits where a gas-powered engine would normally reside -- this balances the trimmer making it easier to use than traditional corded models. The auto-feed system works great and the string is easy to replace. The rotating head makes edging easy.

I have a 3/4 acre corner lot with a fence, a sidewalk around two sides and a great deal of stone edging around trees. I can easily trim the entire yard on one charge. When I hang up the trimmer, it recharges and remains charged until needed again...very cool.

There are a few places where this trimmer may not be well-suited. It does not have the power of high-end gas models. This limits its usefulness in heavy weeds and underbrush. It has plenty of power for the average suburban yard but trimming hay from around horse-farm fences would be about its upper limit. It also would not work for a lawn-care service as it has to recharge for several hours once the battery drains.

For the average suburban lawn, this is the way to go. Mine has never failed to please!

It's been 4 years of good use
Four years have gone by and the motor died. The battery would last about 10 minutes and that's it. I plan on buying the new 18 volt model and will try the other person from Austin recommendation, charge indoors. This trimmer will not do an entire yard at once so if that is your mission look elsewhere. I plan to get the new one because it's emission free. The foul emissions from my borrowed gas trimmer is sickening. The construction design could definitely be better.

Nice Product, Horrible Manual
Just received the rain gauge from Amazon. The instruction manual is at least as bad as everyone says. It makes no mention of the reset switch in the outdoor unit along with numerous other omissions. The cost of phone & email support plus perfectly good units returned in frustration has got to be more than that of a proper manual. As a retired electronics tech (who occasionally wrote in-house procedures) and a native Oregonian, this manual from an Oregon hi-tech company is embarrassing.

On the other hand, looking the unit over, it appears to be very well made. The level of workmanship and quality of the circuit board and wiring in the outdoor unit is much higher than you would expect from a consumer electronic device in this price range. The batteries included were Mallory, not a mystery brand. The indoor unit has a nice heft and its switches have a quality feel.

In setting up the outdoor unit, the two screws that hold the collector/funnel assembly are easily lost and probably metric. Be careful! The screws for the battery box cover, on my unit, were "captive". Loosen until you feel them 'bump' on the thread insert and they will stay with the cover. Remove the plastic insulating strip from the battery box, reinstall the batteries and press the "RESET" switch with a straightened paper clip. As larryaol mentioned, it's a good idea to leave the cover open until everything is working.

The indoor unit also has a plastic insulating strip in the battery box that must be removed. That done and the batteries installed, press its "RESET" switch with the paper clip. The upper display should stop flashing once the two units establish contact. Although the manual makes no mention, clearly the radio link isn't continuous. It seems to need up to 30 seconds for the display to update. With the rain collector still open, you can carefully remove the tape that holds the tipping bucket mechanism and manually tip it a couple of times to check operation. Its resolution is 0.04" per tip. Wait about 30 seconds for the rainfall reading to update.

Another serious manual omission is in clearing the rainfall reading. The manual instructs you to "Press and hold the RAIN RESET/SINCE button for 2 seconds" but this doesn't work. Oregon Scientific's call center was helpful. What you need to do is press & release then immediately press & hold. This also loads the current "SINCE" date in the lower display.

Hopefully, someone at Oregon Scientific will do something about the instruction manual.

Can't Stress this enough!!
The unit once setup is pretty slick. Setting it up is another story. Once you remove the exterior sensor battery cover and remove the plastic strip BE SURE TO DEPRESS THE RESET BUTTON next to the batteries. If you don't do this (the manual barely mentions it) you will have to remove all 10 screws again to gain entrance to the reset button. I too, like a previous reviewer have difficulty clearing the rain amount, it seems to work when it is in the mood, not me.

Quality Product but Terrible Instruction Manual
Before attempting to set this product up, it would be worth your while to read some of the other reviews of this product on this website. They have suffered through trying to understand one of the most poorly written operating manuals I've ever seen. Don't let this dissuade you from buying the product because it's a great rain gauge. Just be aware that the manual simply doesn't cover the operating features and instructions in enough detail to allow anyone to properly set the unit up. The most notable omission is about the RAIN/HISTORY - Since reset feature. Read the remaining reviews and enjoy the product.

As others have mentioned, the instruction booklet is almost worthless. I went to the manufacturer's website: www.oregonscientific.com, it wasn't any better.
TIPS:
1. You need a very small jewelers screwdriver, pref. a phillips head.
2. There are 10 tiny screws (2 sizes) you must remove from the outdoor unit! Have containers ready to hold them.
3. After opening the outdoor unit's battery cover, remove the batteries, take out the clear plastic spacer, reinsert the batteries, and MOST IMPORTANT-- press the reset button next to the batteries with an unbent paper clip.
4. BEFORE closing-up the outdoor unit, do the following on the indoor unit--
5. Remove battery cover, remove the batteries, take out the clear plastic spacer, reinsert the batteries, and press the indoor unit's reset button above the batteries with an unbent paper clip.
6. Wait a minute or two for the indoor unit to lock in on the outdoor unit's signal. The top two lines of the display will flash until it finds the signal.
7. If the display keeps flashing, press the OUTDOOR unit's reset button again.
8. Then press the indoor reset, again.
Once the display stops flashing, then close-up the outdoor unit. Don't jiggle the outdoor unit or it will record that as "rainfall."
9. I could not get the rainfall total to reset with the "rain reset" button. I had to do the full reset on the indoor unit.

Can't beat the price
I'm recovering from back surgery and wanted a way to know--rather than guess--how close I come to meeting my daily walking goals. This comparatively inexpensive pedometer doesn't achieve perfection, but it does get the job done.

On the up side, it's small, easy to read and includes a user-controlled back light. The belt clip is extremely secure, and the screen displays everything from actual steps walked to total distance and calories burned. It was easy to adjust the stride length and body weight. My steps are tracked accurately with the "sensitivity" slider control set in the middle, rather than all the way to the left as many other reviewers suggest. I have learned that there is a bit of wiggle room on mine--if I count off 20 steps, it might say 19 on one set and 21 on the next. In the long run--I bothered to count all the way to 100 several times--it was spot on.

On the down side, the cover is extraordinarily difficult to open. Difficult as in I have wrestled with it for nearly five minutes just to pop it open. (I now don't close it quite securely. It doesn't fall open.) And I can see some folks might be bothered by the imprecision over short term counting. And for some reason, if I clip it to a pants pocket, rather than on a belt loop or my waist band, it doesn't seem to read anything at all. I have no clue why this is so, but it is a little disapointing.

Considering that every other pedometer I looked at was more than twice the price of this model, I'm astonished at how well it works. Perfectionists will likely prefer a more expensive version, but for short term use, casual interest, easy-going folks or even something to help get the kids more active, you can't go wrong.

Great price...Accuracy? Not so much.
The price of this product is what sold me comparing to other pedometers. I bought it being aware of the problems other reviewers have stated. The "happiness" ratio seems about 40% at best. The thumb clip has been problematic but you can work around it. But is that what you want in a product? The biggest flaw I have found is in its accuracy. After several tests of 50 steps the unit averaged being "off" by being over 40 steps...on the lowest sensitivity. Disappointing. I wouldn't mind it being off by being under because I would exercising more and thats good. But this way I feel like its cheating me at the cost of my health. I will continue to use this unit but I will be on the lookout for a new unit. I can not make a recomendation for this product.

Sore thumb, yes, but otherwise ginchy
I've had mine for two days and agree with the others about the painful thumb button on the locking mechanism. I just shaved the little plastic catch down a little with an Xacto knife: problem solved.

The step counts seem accurate to me and I haven't noticed any spurious ones while the unit was sitting on a table or anything. I believe there are defective ones out there, but mine seems fine.

I'd recommend it, and I'd recommend shaving or sanding that little plastic ridge down to save the tip of your thumb!

It's great!
I bought this item about 3 months ago and LOVE it. I saw some reviews where people complained that it counted steps when they weren't moving and didn't count steps when they were moving. I had some of this trouble too and found that it was usually where I placed the pedometer. You just have to experiment some to find the best place to put it for how you move (including how you move when you're sitting at your desk).

I have tested it out several times to check for accuracy--counting my steps as well as those on my pedometer. This may seem a bit manic, but I manually counted out more than 500 steps in a couple of these times. In all cases, the pedometer was right on with my count (occasionally it was off by one or two steps only).

My aching thumb!!!
I'm not sure just how accurate this pedometer is. I've been SITTING in front of my computer since I put it on and it reads 141 steps so far and I have it on the lowest sensitivity level.

More importantly, the tip of my right thumb is killing me from wrestling with the lid to get it open. The release button doesn't push in and release anything. You auctually have to use your thumb to pry it open.

I will try using it tomorrow without closing the lid, but this seems to be a bit ridiculous.

Wonderful to Serve You
Developed by the master Chef Heyonguen Chuw in Hong Kong, these skewers make excellent tools for the noted acupunturist. They are lightweight, easy to use, and available in numerous colors. A great gift for people who are color blind also.

Great Invention!
I am so tired of slippery food sliding off skewers when you try to turn them over! These double-pronged skewers really work at keeping food on the skewers, and even better, from sliding around when you try to turn them over. I must have looked pretty funny in the past trying turn shrimp over to cook on the other side while they twirled around and around the skewer, always with the cooked side down! But no more! I always hand-wash skewers anyway, so have had no rust problems.

A good skewer
I have used a set of these skewers for a few years. I am buying a couple more sets. I haven't had any problem with rust. Meats and vegetables stay put with double pronged skewers. An improvement would be to taper the ends. I would rate at five stars if the ends were more pointed.

Rust-prone, but nice design
Though Weber claims these are dishwasher safe, these rusted after a first run through the dishwasher. I like the way they work--personally, I didn't have a problem with the "blunt" tips. Everyone's right--they're not pointy, which to me (a klutz) is good because it saves my fingers. Still, I skewer veggies just fine all the time with them. In the future I'll handwash, and maybe see about calling Weber to complain about the rust.

Rusting and Dull

Durable pads - horrible straps
Thee pads were great for me this past summer and fall. I used them to lay a cobblestone driveway. They really took a beating and the pads remained unscathed. The straps on the other hand are not so durable and one of the pads is near the end of its usefulness as the strap has almost seperated. To make matters worse, the neoprene does not breathe and your knees and backs of your legs will get sweaty in warm weather. All in all, a solid product that might not stand up to very hard use.

Super-durable and Very Comfortable
That about sums it up - these pads work great for any work in the garden or around the house. My only quibble is that you'll get pretty hot underneath the neoprene straps when working outdoors in the Summer.

The Pads For All Seasons
My wife and I bought a pair of these pads in the Spring of this year. We are carpenters and organic gardeners so we have gone through countless pads in the past: gel types, hard caps, neoprene, latex, etc. All of latter have never met our needs nor fulfilled our expectations.

The Fiskars Kneepads Plus are lightweight and truly do conform to our knees. We work them on hard concrete, slate, marble, rough gravel, and clay soils in total comfort. We are both right-kneed (prosaic license)and have worn out so many Carharts that we could start a second-hand store! Now our jeans last for much longer so these pads can actually save you bucks!

The Fiskars Plus pads also stay up and do not wrap around our knees. The padding causes very little sweating and dries quickly. The elastic and hook-loop fasteners have sagged a bit after so much use but my better half is also a seamstress and has re-sewn them to new condition.

It is a rainy Autumn morning as we now head to the garden to harvest our crops before the frost....Fiskars strapped in place.

Yea,They're Pretty Good
I'm a service tech for the local phone company. I spend a lot of time on my knees, stapling wire to base boards, crawling under houses, crawling in attics. These are the knee pads I use and I've used them about 2 years. These are light weight but have just enough padding to insulate your knee from rocks or hard surfaces. It's real strong suit is that when it's time to put them on or take them off, it's really easy and fast. Plus they stay on your knees(not migrating down towards your ankles). There are cushier pads around, and pads that insulate the rock shock better but they cost a lot more or they are time consuming to put on and take off. So for ease of use, cost, and reliability I don't think you can go wrong with these.

These are essential equipment for my oval office
These pads are SO good, they could be deemed "presidential." I recently used them when broke my leg at the ankle. When I wasn't using crutches or a wheelchair, I was getting around by crawling around on my hands and knees like a six-month old. (haha, fooled you, where did you think I was going with that opening sentence, you naughty person, you?)

When I am back on my feet (literally) I intend to use these to clean the floors (not done in months) and to remove the traces of my garden which has been destroyed by the drought. Or use them while praying to the rain gods. They will be handy indeed. ... Read more

cheap parts- Impeller
To who it should concern,
I have enjoyed using my BV2500 Leaf hog Vac'N'Mulch for about three times to remove leaves from the surface of my yard which is covered in Decomposed Granite at a size of 1/4" minus. As a blower, I have never used better! However, don't give out any high fives! As a Vac 'N' Mulch it has a bit to be desired. It has the horse power, and plenty of wind speed as a blower however, as a vacuum it has become very whimpy and will hardly pickup a small amount of only dry leaves. Having gotten frustrated about it, I removed the attachment to find the impeller is almost half gone from the small amount af abrasion from the small rocks or debri other than leaves. In fact, one of the things that I bought it for was to help pickup pine needles and leaves. It does a poor job with pine needles and after only three uses it is half as good as it was new. The overall equipment is excellent but definitely not worth the money at half the price, if it doesn't last long enough to get it dirty or scratch it at least once! I would be willing to put a new impeller on mine and carry on using it only as a blower if I could find a way to get another one. Please advise your engineers to go for a bit more quality and help me fix mine if you can. I'd like to suggest an aluminum impeller or perhaps more of a high tech plastic. That might get some more longevity as a vacuum and you are already tooled for plastic. See what you can do for me, please....

When will the leaf hog be Recalled?
We have had ourleaf hog for a little over a year. After using it for three times the off button stopped working! the only way to turn it off was pulling the plug. Also the on / off button is labelled so poorly that when the unit is dusty one can not tell the difference between the on/off button and the button that takes of the housing covering the impeller. After my husband cut his leg with the rotating impeller and not able to turn off the unit we stopped using this horrilbe product. I just looked to see if it has been recalled. Watch out people!

Plastic Parts Easily Broken
I would not recommend this item. After a single use as a vacuum, the plastic housing and impellor will be damaged.

Seems like a strong blower (until you break the housing or wear down the impellor with a pebble, as I did on the very first usage).

B&D sent a replacement housing (begrudgingly), but refused to replace the impellor.

With shipping, a new impellor is about $15. You'd be better off spending the extra money on a better blower / vac from the get-go.

It was okay, but with a lot of problems
When I bought this, I bought it because my neighbor had a blower vac, which got hard to rake leaves up. I liked that it ate up leaves and got hard to rake leaves out of bushes. It's attachments where easy to put on and take off. Recently we had a major problem, it wouldn't turn off!! It wouldn't turn off unless you unplugged it. Also the propeller wore away after a month. Great Product
Received this rack last week and used it for the first time over the weekend. As promised, this is huge. I sprayed it with
Pam for ease in cleaning. We cooked a boneless roast pork
and used this rack. It was so moist! Clean-up was a breeze as well but as stated above I used Pam. This is a great gadget. Can't wait to try a turkey. 5 Stars!

Huge & very useful!
Not only is this holder very well constructed of very heavy gauge material, it's large enough and strong enough to hold a 20 lb or larger turkey without flexing or breaking.

Don't be fooled by the picture because it's a large 15.5 by 10.5 inches and 6 inches tall. It's something every BBQ chef should have although it would also be useful in an oven if a person wanted.

Very Versatile
We not only use this for roasts. We cradle chicken, turkey, and pork rolls for cooking also. We have been pleased so far. The nickel-plated steel rack cleans easily too.

Roast or Turkey?
This may be called a roast holder but you've missed out until you have used one to cook a turkey. You can cook up to a 14 lb. turkey easily in a 22-1/2 inch grill using this rack. I cooked my first turkey in a Weber 21 years ago and have cooked at least two every year since. There is no comparison if you want a moist tasty turkey. My family would mutiny if I tried to cook a turkey any other way and my wife loves to have her oven available to fix the rest of the holiday dinner. Terrific for cutting herbs and flowers!
I love these and use them all the time.

I cried when I lost mine
And then went out and replaced them immediately. Say goodbye to aching hands and wrists, and to blisters from those rubbing scissor handles. These little snips work effortlessly and come in handy for so many things it's tempting to toss the regular scissors away.

Herb Gardening
I received my pair of snips in a combination package, so I wasn't looking for them in particular. However, they have been irreplaceable in my herb garden...to cut leaves off the plant in the garden, then to take them with me to the kitchen to snip them for recipes!

Great For Deadheading
I have found these snips to be great for deadheading.

Way too small
This product was featured as Pruning Snips. When the package arrived, it was called "Floral Snip". It is the size of children's scissors and nowhere on the packaging is "Pruning" mentioned. Great, economical and woman-friendly
When this was delivered all I needed to provide was gasoline. It shipped with the right amount of oil, which took less than 30 seconds to pour in, and another 3 minutes to lock down the handle, fill it with gas and start it.

It started on the first pull and worked flawlessly in our 1/3 acre yard. The first time this mower used three tankfuls of gas, but this was because the grass and weeds in our lawn had grown nearly 18 inches high (we'd recently moved in). The second time I mowed the lawn I only used a tank of gas, which indicates how economical this model is to own and operate.

The self-propelling feature was good enough to allow me to handle the mower, even on hilly parts of the back yard.

The instruction book is easy to follow, the mower itself is well-packed and easy to remove from the shipping carton, and set-up was a breeze. Performance is outstanding. If I had it to do all over again, I'd still purchase this model, which is the best compliment I can bestow. ... Read more

Not as pictured!
The advertisement picture shows the cover below the top of the wheels. The cover I received was a full 3 inches above the top of the wheels and left the bottom storage rack fully exposed to the weather.

Great product, just buy it somewhere else
I saw this product oin the store yesterday, and I think it'll be great. Do youselves a favour and buy it somewhere else though. Amazon says it "usually ships in 24 hours". Now, 48 hours later, only ONE of the items (the smallest one that I just threw in for convenience) has shipped. Of course, this means that I can't cancel my order and buy it at the store now. Amazon's customer service has slipped significantly in the last 2 years. Save yourself the trouble and buy from a local retailer.

ordered the stainless flavorizer bars for a Genisis-1000 which is supposed to be 13 bars, what i received were 5 porcelain bars for a completely different model.

Great Upgrade
This upgrade is worth every penny. I agree with the reviewer that felt that heating was more even. I would add that they seem to burn the drippings off better and keep the inside of the grill cleaner. There is no doubt in my mind that the addition of this product makes the original design all the better.

Really just an update
I'm the same Koba22 from below. Here I am at 3 1/2 years with my stainless steel flavorizer bars, and they are still doing the job. I'm a fairly heavy BBQer (2-3x a week), and they are standing up like champs. I'm beginning to see some signs of deterioration, but I've still another year with them (I think).

Pay the extra money and go stainless. Right now, they have lasted me more than twice as long as the porcelin flavorizers.

A nice upgrade
After 3 years the porcelain-coated flavorizer bars on our grill have just about had it.

The stainless steel ones are working well and they will hopefully last a long time.

Go Stainless
After a year and a half of heavy grilling (2-3x a week), the original flavorizers finally had had enough. I replaced them with the stainless steel, and after about 2 1/2 years, they are still standing up extremely well. It is worth the extra 20 to 30 dollars for the stainless steel. They do the same job as the porcelein, but they seem to do it longer.

Wonderful accessory
I love this rotisserie. So far I've only done chickens, which came out nice, brown and delicious! Can't wait to try a roast. Worth every penny.

Best puchase I have made in a while
This rotisserie will make some of the best food you've ever tasted. It is worth every penny of the cost. Two improvements I'd like to see though are the forks that hold the food are hard to clean (you need a toothbrush and some comet); also, I wish they would sell a basket that closed around the spindle so you could load food easier. Very quiet, easy to use, and for the lazy BBQ'r; you can put a chicken on and do absolutely nothing and come back 1 1/2 hours later and you are ready to eat. Cheers to Weber for another great product.

The best BBQ toy I have ever bought!
I love this thing. I just got it, put two chickens on, and 1.5 hours later was eating the juiciest, tastiest chickens I have ever had. No comparison with my smoker or beercan style...the rotisserie beats either method hands down. I had debated the purchase, thinking that this was just going to be another gadget I would use once and then never again. I had been told that the meat comes out no differently than if you just lay it on the grill, and that the motors on rotisseries are loud and obnoxious. Neither statement could be further from the truth. The meat is juicier due to the self-basting aspect, and the motor on this unit is virtually silent. Also, having the counterweight is a great plus for irregularly shaped items. This is a great purchase, and very well built in typical Weber fashion. Highly recommended.

Buy this today!
I concur with all the other reviews-this thing is da bomb!! Try pork roast on there-it is to die for. The rotisserie has never let me down, whether I'm cooking chicken, pork, prime rib, roast beef, lamb-you name it.
Now mine is about 3 years old and the skewer does get a bit charred especially if you use smoke often. You need to SOS it and then you are good.
You'll never buy one of those black plastic trayed chickens at the grocery store again! Superior to ANY restaurant!

A great tool
Weber's rotisserie couldn't be easier to install and to master. Instructions are very clear.

So far I've spitroasted a leg of lamb, a pork shoulder and a chicken, and all came out juicy, crispy and flavorful.

The motor works very well. Only weird thing is the very short length of the powercord, a decision only a lawyer could have made. This way, if you trip on your extension cord, Weber won't be liable. I can't see how you could possibly use this rotisserie with the included cord alone. If you happened to have an outlet close enough to your ideal grilling spot, the grill would be way too close to your house! ... Read more
