5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic and easy
I bought this for my father who is approaching 70 years old. It is very light and very easy to use. We have burmada on our lawn. The first time we used it, there was a lot of growth so it took three batteries to finish his lot. I do have to point out that he had very bad technique. After I showed him a better way to do it, it worked more efficiently and now if he or I use it once a week, I may be able to get by with one battery. Because it inverts, I can do 40 feet in about 30 seconds, if you edge frequently and don't have massive growth. Just don't push it too close to anything you are try to get rid of, it slows it down and it doesn't work properly and the line won't come out. It has a 12inch area so remember to utilize that. I've also have edge and trimmed the yard 9 times this summer already and I still haven't used the spool of line yet. With our gas one the work would take about 45 minutes and I would have sore back from the extra weight. Now I complete my work in less than 15 minutes. This has been a pleasure to use.

1-0 out of 5 stars Absolute Junk.
Hey There -
I just returned mine after only one use. The box says it will cut 1/2 with one charged battery. WHO's 1/2-acre were they cutting?!? Not my lawn, which is less than a 1/2-acre. I had to do half the job one day, recharge both batteries, and finish the job the next day. The spool was out when I'd finished. The box says "Gets The Job Done." It most certainly did not.
I called B&D Customer Service, and they agreed, the battery life is 15 minutes per battery, fully charged (maybe 20 at the most). Is that enough time for YOU to get "the job done"? Not me. I was really excited but it turned out to be a complete bust.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very decent for basic use
I think this is perfect for someone who really:
1) dislikes the noise and smell of the gas trimmers
2) wants something fairly light
3) does not want a cord to always worry about
4) already has firestorm or B&D 18 volt products (batteries are interchangeable)

I have used all 3 types of trimmers, gas, 120 wired, and this cordless one and I have to say the convenience is great. Instant on with a press of the switch is great. The plastic is a bit cheap feeling but it seems to do the work. I think it could've been much better constructed, but the battery life is pretty impressive and the speed/torque of the trimmer is also pretty impressive on a well grown/groomed lawn. It did have a bit of trouble instantly tackling a thick busy section of grass but after going over it 2-3 passes...it took care of it. This same spot has given me trouble even with the corded 120 volt version from Toro so this was expected. The gas one I had chewed through it easily but that's gas...

I think for light to moderate work, it's fine. If you have thorny and thick undergrowth or even small plants with a fibrous stem, it'll take more work to get down than a gas.

Oh..if you even TRY to 'bump and feed' this unit, you will find the spool falls off VERY easily with a solid thump to the bottom (THAT was a pain in the as* as it flew off and unwound a ton of filament that I had to rewind by hand and figure out how to put it back on!

If you have 18 volt black and decker goods like I do, then you'll REALLY like having the two extra batteries and one extra charger. I have 4 batteries and 2 chargers amongst all the goodies now so I know i'll always have more than enough juice for anything around the house.

I would vote 5 stars, but the plastic has a cheapy feel.

4-0 out of 5 stars B & D cordless string trimmer
My parents are getting up there and we sibs continually look for the simpliest and easiest yard tools for them to use, rather than hire others to do the things that they still want to do on their own. This trimmer fits the bill; it's easy to use, light-weight, no gas/oil, no electric cords, no bumping.
They love doing their own yard-work. This is certainly much quicker and efficient for them than other methods of trimming that they have used.
It was a great Father's Day gift !!

4-0 out of 5 stars Light weight and easy to operate.
I am a single senior who just can't manage the gas trimmer any more. So I purchased the Black and Decker grasshog and am amazingly surprised on how easy it is to operate. I had no problem assembling it, it is light and easy to handle. The two batteries lasted for my half acre. If it lasts only two years, it will be worth it. ... Read more

This is a necessity. No more bending down to find the tiny hook on the underside of the lid...this makes the process about 100% more efficient.

5-0 out of 5 stars Back Saver
Finally, Weber has available a retro-fit lid holder. If you are a taller person, this unit really helps,it's much better than using the hook welded inside the lid(if you have one inside the lid). The Slide-Aside easily clips onto the edge of the lower bowl making lid removal/closure easy for anyone.Using it provides a great windbreak for starting coals and it's size allows for the grill cover to still fit when the cook-out is done. 5-0 out of 5 stars Best smoker.....at any price!!
I've used several cheaper water smokers, offset units, gas grills, you name it. I've used them all to make bar-b-que, however, non of them has produced a better product then the Weber Smokey Mountain. This is the best smoker you can buy at any price. It's perfect for small families and large ones. You can easily prepare 6 to 10 racks of ribs at once. I've done 3 - 7lbs pork butts and a 12 lbs brisket at the same time.

This unit is made to Weber standard, so you know it's well built. Heavy enamel coating that will last a life-time. The effeciency of the cooker is unbelievable. I've done 15 hour cooks without adding any extra fuel.

This is the first smoker (of any type) that I've used that I didn't have to baby sit. Most smokers need almost constant attention in order to maintain proper temp. Not the Weber. It needs virtually no adjustments to keep a steady smoking temperature for hours and hours. You can easily do overnight cooks and sleep easy as the Weber does it's magic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Weber Smoker
I purchased my Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker in August 2003 after talking about doing so for years and after looking at many competing models. I am not disappointed. From an engineering prespective it's design is simple and straightforward and it is extremely well built (just compare it to competing models and you will quickly see the difference). By reviewing the Thermometer installation procedures available at "virtualweberbullet" web site, adding an industrial grade thermometer by drilling a small hole in the cover was completed easily.

The results have been fantastic!! I have used the noted web site to learn about techniques to extend the cooking period without having to add charcoal and the rib recipe (The Best Ribs in the Universe) is out of this world! Smoked Turkey, smoked chicken, smoked salmon and smoked almonds have all been easy to prepare and the results outstanding.

I easily designed and constructed a side simple shelf (from two shelf brackets, a 10"x12" piece of oak, and a 1/8"x1" by 30" piece of steel straping available at Home Depot) that can be temporarily attached to the cooking section for use during any smoking session and easily removed so that you can then place the cover on the smoker for storage.

You will not be disappointed with the results of you efforts with this smoker!

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb Results
The WSM (aka bullet) cooker is an excellent product for BBQ novice and master. Consistent temperature make this a great 1st smoker for anyone who wants to make their own real barbeque. Easy to clean, a joy to use.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bring Bob out from the Cold
"Toolbits" hedgehog warmer is a comforting additon to anyone living out in the wilds where small, furry rodents come in from the cold, its easy to use, just a few flips of the switch and you will have a warm habitat for the furry creatures.

5-0 out of 5 stars An awesome cooker!
Got this as a present to replace my worn-out cheap-o Brinkman. I wouldn't have spent so much on myself, but am glad someone did! Fire stays lit, heat is slow and steady, with no intervention. The old one used to go out on me, heat up, down & all over. Not this puppy. The construction is heavy all the way. It really helps to be able to lift off that middle ring section when setting up the fire. There are web sites dedicated to this cooker, and for good reason. Some advice - buy the Weber chimney starter and rib rack along with this item. Also, the grill gloves are a nicety, but not a must-have. In the beginning, you can get your recipes off the internet. Best spare ribs ever! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Shipping Ripoff
I purchased a Weber Q grill and some accessories. I understood the shipping charges listed by Amazon included the whole shipping cost for the order. However, I received a bill for $13.55 for shipping for the $4.99 aluminum drip pans from Dynadirect. The web site lists the shipping weight as 4 lbs but they only weigh 5 oz. WHAT A RIPOFF!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Good Product -- Shipping Rip-Off
Great product @ $4.99 from Weber but nowhere worth the $13.55 shipping and handling from Dynadirect which is buried in the fine print. Buyer beware !! I'm not used to this from Amazon.com and I won't make the same mistake again !!

2-0 out of 5 stars The Local Racoon Love's These Drip Trays
These trays make great serving dishes for the local racoon that visits my house every evening. He LOVES those drippings, and almost ripped the whole bottom pan of the grill off to get to them.

3-0 out of 5 stars They're Just Drip Pans
What can anyone write about these? They're aluminum drip pans. They catch grease. e The perfect gift for a grillmaster with a James Bond bent, thisultra-complete barbecue kit by Mr. Bar-B-Q has every accessorynecessary for prepping and grilling barbecue chow. The stainless-steelprimary tools--fork, knife, tongs, 4-in-1 spatula, basting brush, andgrill brush--have good heft and balance, plus they can hang by theirhandles. We likethe details here, too: a spare head for the grill brush, a bottleopener on the spatula handle, and Velcro/elastic storage straps for thetools. 5-0 out of 5 stars The last BBQ Tool Set you'll ever need...
While a little intimidating when you first take it out of the box, once you get it unwrapped and get the secure, sturdy aluminum case snapped open you'll begin to admire both the simplicity and design of the Set.

I got mine as a wedding present, and I've already gotten a lot of quality use out of it. Most of the tools are long handled to give you good clearance from the heat, and the spatula is not only wide enough for the Big Burgers but it also has a sharpened edge to allow you to check "doneness" without having to reach for another tool.

The fork, knife, tongs, and basting brush are also well designed for their purposes and the Four "kebob" skewers are made out of solid, polished metal so the food slides right off. The eight corn picks are a nice touch, as are the salt and pepper set (they arrive empty, so fill them with the spice/rub of your choice), and for after-grill cleanup there's a nice and solid grill brush with spare head.

Everything fits securely in its own place either with elastic straps or with velcro attachments, so nothing clatters around when you move it from your kitchen, to your deck, to your tailgate party, to your...well, you get the idea. *grin*

5-0 out of 5 stars BBQ Camper
This BBQ Kit is as cool in person as it looks online. The pieces are all very good quality and everything you need is included. I like the aluminum case so we can take it camping with us. I know my friende will be green with envy when I start dishing up the ribs this summer with the great spatula.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Industrial
The perfect gift for the Bar-B-Q guru. I bought this as a gift and have never seen such a huge smile. The pieces are a beautiful stainless and very durable. Definately a good value.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nicest grill set I've ever seen
I bought for my bro's birthday, now I want one! Top quality, everything you need, and very sturdy, which is a plus on the grill. Warning, though, knife and serated edge on spatula are very sharp--not for kids who can't handle themselves. Main pieces are really long so you don't get burnt over the grill. Heads for the grill scrubber were $5, totally replaceable. Corn cobbers are really cute, too. Perfect gift for a bbq'r!

5-0 out of 5 stars Gourmat Chef
As a gourmet chef i never use bbq tools until now. I couldn't believe the workmanship and high polished stainess steel used on these tools. This set has everything an outdoor gourmet could ask for! Bravo to a company finally selling a product worth talking about. But, the best part is the aluminum carrying case I use to store the tools in so they don't get lost or mishandled. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars So far, so good
We just bought our first house, and along with it a few trees, a lot of shrubs, and a couple dozen rosebushes, so I needed something good and easy-to-use. After sampling the options in the local hardware store, I decided these were the most comfortable, easiest to use, and seemingly best mechanism of the bunch. I've only been working with them for a month, but they're performing well so far.

The hold-closed latch is easy and well-placed (though it is easy to pop it unlatched if you stuff the clippers in your back pocket), the grip width is adjustable with a set screw (so small hands don't have to suffer), and the blade spread is admirable for a hand-held pruner (though adjusting the grip width does take a little off the blade spread too). The spring and other critical mechanical components are well shielded, so you won't be gumming them up with debris easily. It cuts through the rose pruning like butter and even gets through thick woody dead stuff with only a little effort. The rotating handle makes a huge difference in the comfort level, especially when cutting the the thick woody stuff.

They say buy the best you can afford, and these certainly seemed like the best option to me, and they weren't even that expensive. Certainly better to buy one pair of good pruners instead of three bad ones.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for small hands, light duty
Having read the reviews and being a gadget freak, I decided to get these. I figured the rotating lever would reduce the blister inducing rubbing my fingers experience when doing a lot of heavy pruning. And the power advantage would be a boon to my aging and no longer as strong hands.

Well, it does work as advertised; the finger abrasion is reduced and it requires less effort to cut a given branch with these compared to my trusty Felco pruners. BUT, two problems arose for me. First, due to the size of these pruners and the Powergear technology, the lever rotates my fingertips smack against my palm, and if I'm cutting a large branch with some serious squeezing, it does it hard enough to hurt! I do have fairly big hands, but I'm not Shaq. It is a serious annoyance for me. And second, it is not nearly as rugged as my Felco. It just isn't strong enough to cut larger woody branches that do fit between the blades and the Felco handles without strain. The cutting blade flexes and so the bypass cut doesn't happen and you have a partially cut branch with the pruners stuck in it.

I do like their precise feel for light to medium work, where I'm not squeezing hard enough to have either of the above problems. But I'd like to see Fiskars make a larger, heavier duty version of this technology. (I know they make a Powergear mini-lopper; I'd like to see a 20% bigger and heavier duty pruner)

Conclusion; if your hands aren't large and you don't intend to do heavy duty pruning, these are quite slick.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sharp, strong, and oh so comfortable!
When I read the description, I still couldn't imagine how the handle could "rotate." But when it arrived in the mail it was obvious. I hadn't thought of it but, when one squeezes such a tool, one's fingers roll over the handle. And on this pruner, the rounded handle rolls with the fingers. This clever idea not only makes it more comfortable to squeeze, but the gearing incorporated into the design also makes it easier on the muscles.

I gave the new pruner a tough initiation by trimming some low redwood branches, and even though a few were a tad larger than the rated 3/4" -the tool bit right through them all. The grip was so comfortable, it didn't even seem like work.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Pruner
This is the best Pruner that I've used. They are very easy to use and feel really comfortable in you hands.

3-0 out of 5 stars does this for a living
blades gum up easily after repetitive use. Need to keep spraying lubricant to keep blades from gumming up. Corona Professional bypass pruners are a bit more resistant to gumming. Otherwise, an excellent pruner. Love the teflon coated blades because it doesnt rust and is easy to clean. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Advertised Price A Sham?
This item is advertised on may different websites at $29.99, however when you try to buy it, Amazon suddenly jacks the price up to $34.99?

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Thermometer I've Used
I've tried several other types of thermometers to no avail. I've used both the standard meat thermomter as well as more expensive digital thermometers. This works better than anything I've tried. The remote saves trips out the bbq and I've never had any trouble reading it. A must buy for any serious bbq.

1-0 out of 5 stars Beware the limitation!!!
I returned mine. Why? Because it does not give you a reading for anything over 199 degrees. I purchased mine for use in a Weber smoker. I wanted to measure temperatures up to 220 degrees inside the smoker. This timer only registers to 199 degrees. After that it just beeps to tell you (as the directions say:) "out of range". It worked fine below that, but it was useless with any temps over that. It says the probe can register up to 480 degrees or something, so why limit the readout?

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Seasonal Tool
The remote sensor is the selling point on this one. The utility of having the alarm unit in the house is wonderful, especially for us year round cooks - no more running outside in the snow to check the meat. Luv it. Got 2 - one for the charcoal, one for the gas. Note: when you screw up and let the probe cord overheat, you can buy replacement probes from manufacturers of similar reading digital temp sensors.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed.
Ever had a meal go up in smoke because you got pulled away from the grill? This solves the problem. Also, I grill a lot about 3 times a week and that's just in the winter. This saves a lot of those trips out to the grill to probe the food and eliminates the need to open the grill cover and lose all that heat. Just stick it in put it on the grill and forget about it.

I really works.

1. Just to test things out I wheeled my grill to the far edge of my property then went down to my basement. I still got a full signal about 80 linear feet away through a brick wall and two thick plaster-lathe interior walls.

2. The monitor warns you when your food is within 5 degrees of your desired doneness so you have time to react..

3. It really really cooked my steak medium rare.

4 Minor annoyance: It has handy preprogrammed settings for rare, medium rare, medium etc. for beef, veal and lamb. But it assumes you want hamburger, fish and poultry well done. In case you don't want these foods cooked that well you need to find an appropriate temperature setting from one of the other foods. For example If you need to turn a turkey and want to be warned when it raches 145 degrees you'd need to set the monitor for beef and medium rare, which happens to be 145 degrees. Would have been nice if it had the option to directly set the monitor for a specific temperature.

Still this thing is absolutely great. Just what I always wished I had. ... Read more

The power of steam meets the digital age in this electronically equipped iron from Black & Decker. Programmed to display temperature settings and signal the auto-off function, the iron’s mini LCD monitor includes back lighting for easy viewing. It works in conjunction with the unit’s SmarTemp system, an audible alert that sounds when the desired temperature is reached. If you feel comfortable using a standard dial setting, then this iron may be no more than a lateral move. But if you’ve always felt unsure launching into ironing without some feedback, this could be your machine.

The iron comes with a highly polished stainless-steel soleplate, a good choice for long life, easy glide, and corrosion-resistance. The water features include spray, variable steam, and surge to make your labor more efficient, and the vertical steam is handy for hanging garments and draperies. For safety and extra peace of mind, the iron automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of being idle. It also comes with an extra-long cord, a custom-fit measuring cup, and a self-cleaning anti-build-up system. Black & Decker includes a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I Like This Iron-BUT
First I purchased D2000, the auto-turn off didn't work. When you pressed the button for 2 seconds to turn it off manually, well that didn't work either. I called cust. serv. They don't even have the model listed, but she did have the same manual that comes with the iron. So I got the D2020. Well it has the same problem. Since CS was of no help, does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? As for the iron, it is the best I have owned except for having to unplug it to turn it off.

This iron is great!!! I read another review which stated that the dial is loose and blah, blah, blah and this is so far from the truth!!! It heats up quickly and reheats quickly after auto shut-off. The settings are never wrong. It glides smoothly over the clothes. I can't think of one negative thing about this iron.

2-0 out of 5 stars Decent Iron... while it was alive.
The B&D Digital Advantage started out as a great iron, although it did have some flaws in the design, like the steam dial moves while you are ironing therefore is always changing the steam setting. Also, the iron does an awful lot of "spitting." It seems to have a hard time regulating steam. Last but not least, it died on me after only 5 months. Therefore I can only dub this iron a piece of crap. I have used a lot of irons in my day, and this one is by far the worst yet.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great iron for the price
This iron works great. At first I was sceptical of Black & Decker and the only review wasn't good, but after using it I am really impressed. It heat up quickly. It took about 30 seconds to heat up to the hotest temp. And the digital dial is great also. No more guessing. The auto clean feature is helpful so there is no rusting or calcium buildups like the $20 college irons. It steams up nicely and performs great. There are problably better irons out there, but for $50 you can't bet it. Who wants to spend more than that anyway, it's just ironing.

1-0 out of 5 stars BD Digital Advantage Iron - D2020
Just bought this iron yesterday new from a local Target store and am dissappointed. The adjustable steam setting dial is so loose that it moves when you are ironing. (Not good - design or product defect?) Also, seems to spit water when ironing - and using tap water or distilled doesn't seem to change the amount of water spitting. Also, the water fill intake latch cover is poorly designed and could be torn off quite easily; you have to handle very carefully when refilling the iron with water. I am going to return this iron and try another brand . As a side note, the stainless soleplate is wonderful and highly recommend this feature on steam irons. ... Read more

Bravo to Black & Decker for two great innovations on this electric mower. First, the flip-over handle! You get to the end of a pass, flip the handle and head back the other way in an instant. Next, users will especially appreciate the one-touch lever that raises and lowers all four wheels at once from 1 inch to 3-1/2 inches, saving the trouble of adjusting each wheel’s height. It’s about time. In addition, the electric 12-amp motor means hassle-free starting, no gas/oil mixes, no fumes, less noise, and no battery to charge. The cushioned handle adjusts for the user’s height, another nice touch not available on most mowers. It mulches beautifully, but if you prefer, you can purchase a side bag. Electric mowers have their naysayers, but if you’re in the market for one, you can’t beat this.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

Features

  • 18-inch cutting deck is made of a super tough polymer and guaranteed for life
  • Electric 12 amp motor means no gas, no oil, and no tune-ups
  • Unique flip-handle design lets you flip the handle over at the end of a pass--instead of turning the mower
  • Side-discharge design allows for mulching or optional side bag (BA-075)
  • Single lever height adjustment raises the cutting deck from 1- to 3-1/2-inch blade clearance

5-0 out of 5 stars It actually mulches!
I have a quarter acre with a bunch of gardens and mowing was always a dreaded task. I used a 5.5 H.P. gas self propelled mower. It took about an hour and a half to mow the yard. And when I was done I was always covered in grass clippings and smelled of gas and exhaust. Not to mention that nice 'tingly' feeling in my hands. While I was mowing the other day I ran into something in the yard and killed my gas mower dead. It was damaged beyond repair so I needed a new mower.
At my wife's insistence I looked at electric mowers (less noise, pollution, etc.) I ended up getting the MM675. I couldn't be happier. It weighs about a third of what the old gas mower weighed, is very easy to move around, the flip handle makes cord management a no brainer and best of all I don't smell of gas and exhaust anymore.
This is also the first mulching mower that I have seen that actually mulches. With my gas mower (which was supposed to be a mulching mower) I would either have to rake up the clippings when I was done or go through the yard and break apart the "trail of mulch" that was left behind. With this mower I run over the yard once and it is all done. The mulched clippings are so fine and driven so far into the grass that I don't even get clippings all over myself and my shoes like with the gas mower.
It still takes about the same amount of time to mow, but it is a much quieter, cleaner, nicer experience now. I would highly recommend this mower. It is worlds better than my old smelly gas mower.

Oh yeah, the mower is also so light that there are no trails left in your yard when you are done. Your yard has a very clean manicured look to it, not the old visible mow lines that the heavy gas mowers wheels would leave behind. Very nice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Why don't all mowers have a flip handle?
My mother had an earlier version of this mower, colored green and black, rather than the super bright orange and black of the MM675. Since that one worked so well, I decided to buy the MM675 for myself. It works even better than my mom's. The single handle to adjust the height of all four wheels at once is very handy and it has been able to mulch even 2 foot high weeds in my backyard (I need to mow more often). I love the flip handle concept, so I don't understand why there aren't a ton of different mowers that use it. It's just so much easier to not have to turn the mower around and it makes a well groomed lawn pretty simple to achieve. Plus it keeps the cord always on one side, so dealing with the cord becomes a non-issue. I've had no problems pushing the mower, it seems light weight, however my lot is flat so I don't deal with any hills.

So, overall, I'm obviously quite pleased. I'd definitely recommend this mower to anyone.

2-0 out of 5 stars great lawnmower, but not this model
You do not want this model - you want the Black and Decker MM575. Here's why: The "flip handle" on the MM675 is a disaster for two reasons. First, no electric lawnmower is powerful enough to 'mulch' - it will just bog down (unless you cut your grass every other day, and you live where it never rains). So you need to be using it in the 'discharge' mode. If you try to use the 'flip' handle at the end of each pass, the discharged grass always goes in the same direction, and the mower will again bog down as it tries to recut ever more grass with each pass. (Take a minute to visualize the geometry and you'll see what I mean). Secondly and even more important, to make the handle 'flip', it attaches to the mower in the MIDDLE of the mower instead of near the rear wheels. This is critical because it means the force of your pushing goes half to pushing the mower forward, and half to pushing the wheels into the ground ! I've cut my grass with an electric mower for over 20 years, and my arms were screaming after only 10 minutes of pushing the MM675. I traded it in for the MM575 (no 'flip' handle: it attaches next to the rear wheels, and you pivot the whole mower at the end of each row, just like with a gas mower) and I can mow for 45 minutes to an hour without arm fatigue.

On the plus side, both these models are well balanced (no vibration), relatively quiet, and cut great. Best of all, the underside is one molded plastic piece - no nooks or crannies for cut grass to build up. My old mower had all sorts of screwheads and spots where different pieces of metal adjoined that jammed up with cut grass. I would spend 5 minutes with a putty knife scraping the underside of the mower clean after each use. After cutting with this mower the first time, I flipped it over to scrape out the grass, and it was spotless ! B + D, wake up and market that great feature !!!

4-0 out of 5 stars great value, quiet, low maintenance...
I opted to go electric rather than gas eventhough a number of people recommeded otherwise. biggest complaint from people is that the cable that you have to drag around.. IT's NO BIG DEAL. You'll develop a system the second time you use one.

Pros:
1. Electric,
2. No gas, oil to worry about,
3. Mulches (with an option to discharge),
4. Shhhh... quiet (at least not as noisy as Gas),
5. and the one that did it for me is the flip handle (move handle from one end of the mower to the other). This will help you manage the extension cord. (the MM575 sells for $10 less and comes without the flip handle).

Cons:
I'll keep you posted!

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good mower
With a fairly small lawn, an electric mower appealed to me. With the flip handle, this one is not too bad. You need to plan your mowing pattern carefully and yank on the cord once in a while. If you have trees and shrubs and flower beds it gets even more interesting. The power is a bit on the weak side though and in tough grass it bogs down. My teen ager is not too impressed with it. It probably takes us 30% longer to mow the lawn than with a cheap gas mower.
Over all, I do like it. It is fairly quiet and it does not smell like oil and gas and that is a big plus. Just the smell of newly cut grass! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Quick and light, just like a broom
It's a great little product for those light jobs like blowing dirt and leaves off the patio or grass off the sidewalk after the lawn is mowed.
It's extremely easy to handle, much lighter than the large, corded "Hog" that I also own.
This product should be used to supplement, not replace, the larger, more powerful corded blower.
I found battery changing very simple and less difficult than the cordless weed trimmer I have (also a B&B product).
It was nice to not have to fuss with the 100-foot cord just to "sweep" some grass trimming. Quick and easy are the operative words.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good - but don't get rid of your corded blower
I just bought the B&D NS118 blower along with the NST2018 cordless string trimmer. I have a corner lot with long parkways and a lot of sidewalk footage, and have grown tired of dealing with up to 175 feet of extension cables for my corded trimmer and blower. I've had a nice battery-powered mower for several years, and felt it was time to go all cordless. This new pair of tools seemed promising, particularly because of the removable battery design.

After only one use I can say I'm reasonably satisfied, but not fully sold.

Handling: This is probably one of the lightest blowers available and is easy to handle. But the way the nozzle attaches is not good at all. It's difficult to remove, and the design invites finger accidents.

Power: The blower is nowhere near as powerful as my corded one. B&D refers to this as a "broom" and that's an appropriate description. It works well on surfaces where you might otherwise use a push broom. It's not good at getting leaves out of grass or flowerbeds. But in a way, the lower airflow can be better for sweeping than a corded blower. My corded one, even at its low setting, can often send debris flying all over the place. This one calmly moves stuff where you want it to go.

Battery: The batteries are compact. The blower comes with two of them, and I needed them both to complete one job. I guess I'm okay with this approach. It makes sense to lug around only as much weight as is necessary rather than carry a much heavier battery the whole time. If you buy this along with a trimmer as I did, you'll have four batteries and two chargers available for swapping. And if you happen to have a FireStorm 18v drill, you can apparently swap batteries with that system as well.

Quality: Build quality seems similar to most B&D stuff, meaning it will probably work for a few years.

Overall: Going cordless does simplify my work and save me time, but this tool isn't appropriate for all cleanup jobs. I have a month to make up my mind about keeping it. But even if it passes muster, I suspect I'll want to hang onto my corded blower for the occasional heavy job. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Black & Decker BA-075 Side Bag Assembly
I found the Side Bag Assembly easy to use and liked it because it was small, and light weight. Plus, it was easy to dispose of the grass clippings in my waste bag I kept close by. Great for the female species.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great, but too small
This side bag assembly is really a nice addition to my B&D BA-075 lawn mower. With the bag, I oftentime have a hard time mowing tall grass because of the massive mulch accumlated under the mower. With the bag, that is no longer an issue. However, the bag is way too small. For my small backyard, I had to empty the bag over 10 times. Also, it keep falling off the mower. The clips just doesn't seem to hold onto the mower that well. Having it on the right side of the mower also made the it mowing certain part of the lawn a bit difficult due to the fence, tree, or other obstacles. I can only mow one direction with the bag attached.

3-0 out of 5 stars not bad
I like this side bag assembly well enough. It's easy to attach to my B & D electric lawnmower. However the bag is very small. Even with my small yard I can only make one or two passes before the bag is full.

3-0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, pitty about the zipper
This bag is nice and easy to attach to the mower, but when emptying the bag, the zippers have a tendency to get caught under the hardened base of the bag, making it difficult to close the zipper when you are done.

4-0 out of 5 stars Does the job but kinda small
The subject pretty much says it all. The bag fits well and catches the grass just like it's supposed to. Emptying is relatively easy as the entire back end can unzip. However, the bag was a little small for my tastes. Even with fairly short grass, I ended up stopping every 10 minutes to empty the bag.

It's a good product but does add a fair bit of time to the lawn mowing process. ... Read more

This versatile system forecasts local weather; automatically sets andupdates the time, day, and date; keeps track of the indoor temperature; andemploys a remote, wireless sensor to record the outdoor temperature up to 100feet away. For forecasting weather within 12 to 24 hours, the6-1/4-by-4-1/4-inch monitor employs a built-in electronic barometric-pressuresensor and then displays the upcoming weather with an icon (sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, rain/snow) on its backlit LCD screen. For keeping track of time, themonitor is equipped with a radio receiver tuned to the U.S. atomic clock; thisenables the monitor to maintain split-second accuracy by automaticallyadjusting, if necessary, to the atomic clock's signals six times every 24 hours. From those signals, the monitor also displays the date, the day, and the timezone for which the user has set the clock. Also, the clock automatically adjustsfor daylight saving time and for leap year. The monitor beams the time and theoutdoor temperature onto a wall or ceiling in large, red numerals for easyreadability. If the monitor is in battery-mode (four AA batteries included),pressing the clock's snooze bar will beam the data for five seconds. If themonitor is plugged into a wall socket with an AC adapter (included), theprojection will be available either for five seconds with the snooze bar orcontinuously if a continuous-beam control is set. The projection beam comes froma device mounted next to the clock. The device pivots so the beam can beprojected onto any surface, and a dial focuses the beam for clarity. You canalso choose to have the temperature displayed in either Celsius or Fahrenheit.--Fred Brack ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars over-rated
Although there are some cool features on this clock, it doesn't do all that it should. I'll simply list the pros and cons and you can decide for yourself.

Pros:
- you can instantly know the weather outside and the temperature inside.
- the forcast prediction and graphics are remarkably accurate.
- projection on ceiling is very cool at night - you can look straight up as you lie in bed and know the time.

Cons:
- even though it plugs in, the clock runs on batteries. the plug is only for the projection part.
- the alarm wouldn't wake up the lightest sleeper - it's just a little beep like your microwave makes. it just makes them more often as you sleep through it.
- the projection doesn't work at all if any light is on in the room and it's really only usefull on a perpendicular surface - otherwise it's stretched and half out of focus.

So as a second clock and something neat to have, this is fine. Don't get it as your primary alarm clock if you want to make it to work on time and not get fired :-)

5-0 out of 5 stars ITS THE BEST BED SIDE CLOCK EVER !!!
The projection is awesome! The alarm starts quiet then gets loud enough to wake anyone (except the dead or the laziest). The weather forcasting works great never wrong. Knowing the time and outdoor temp as soon you open your eye's right on the ceiling or wall is wonderful! Never needs to be set I receive the signal fine and I live in northern rural Minnesota. Buy it you will love it.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT!!!
I had this for a year now, and I NEVER had a problem with it. *Knock wood*. It does what it says, and it is very accurate, and the weather forecaster is pretty acurate too. A must buy!

4-0 out of 5 stars Too Little....
Love the clock but wish the buttons were a little less cumbersome - hard to manipulate with just one hand. Indoor temp. reads a little high. Perhaps the projector heats the internals. Other than that, the time and outdoor temp. on the ceiling is quite entertaining!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great idea; poor design
I bought this clock for my technophobic mother and she loves it. The display on the ceiling is ideal for her; she is severely near-sighted in one eye and almost blind in the other. She can see the display on the ceilng in the middle of the night without any problems. In addition to the display, she appreciates being able to see the temperature, both inside and out.

Another feature of this clock that is ideal for her is that the regular display is only lit when you want it to be lit. There are no glaring red numbers staring at you all night. When you want to see the time/temp, press the snooze button and the display lights for a few seconds.

Now for the negatives of this great little gadget. It is very lightweight and the buttons sit smoothly at the bottom of the clock. It is difficult to tell one button from another or to even push the buttons to set the alarm, view, etc. Raised braille like nobs on the buttons would be helpful as well as making the base wider so it would be more difficult to knock it over. Also, if the clock is running off battery, you have the option of displaying the time on the ceiling only when you press the snooze button. However, if you use the A/C adapter, you're choices are continuous display or no display. The slide switch that controls this is on the side of the clock and is difficult to find by feel.

Despite the few shortcomings of this clock, I still think it's wonderful and recommend it to anyone who is tired of squinting at glowing red dots to see what time it is; who wants to know the temperature both inside and out; and who always wants the correct time. ... Read more

We can't think of anything we'd want to add to this little hummer. It's incredible what B&D has engineered into this system (we don't think it's fair to call it a "screwdriver"). The 5-foot tape measure fits on board, or you can remove it for separate use. Dual speed range lets you drill holes at high speed and drive screws at the slower speed. A 23-position clutch, just like what's on the big boys, will keep you from stripping your screws. But get this: Unlike conventional cordless screwdrivers and regular power drills, this tool's handle easily locks in three positions for tight areas and awkward spots. Genius! And just like the "real" drills, this one's got an accessible forward/reverse rocker switch for backing screws out, too. Here's something, though, that the big-boy drill makers should pick up: It's got on integrated light so you can always see your work surface clearly. For the money, we haven't seen anything like it. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

  • 3-position pivoting action for maximum flexibility and versatility in tight areas

5-0 out of 5 stars Keyless Chuck
I love the rechargeable aspect of the tool. It's so light and easy to work with. The only thing missing is a keyless chuck so steel grinders can be used with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Feature Packed for Under $30!!!
This is the best *cheap* cordless screwdriver I have ever used. The ergonomics of this driver feels good in the hand. Plenty of power and charge in the 6V battery. The clutch eliminates the problem of overtightening and the drill speed is great for quick pilot holes. The two bit holders and LED light really add to the convenience. I haven't used the tape, which is pretty cheesy, but I imagine it could come in hand for a quick measurement. The only have two complaints, but for less than $30 they really don't matter... 1) Should have a LED to indicate that it is charging, 2) Wish the battery was replacable. For the money, this is an indispensible gadget.

5-0 out of 5 stars Strong screwdriver
I have been very pleased with this screwdriver ~ it is strong. I have two along with three of the 3.6 volt B&D drivers and use the 6 volt for larger, more demanding jobs (i.e. book shelf projects, etc.). It is handy because it can be set in several different positions. It is good looking (I like macho looking tools) and it is very handy. Mine all hold good, long charges but then I am used to handling Nicad batteries because I build and fly a lot of radio control planes and you have got to know how to keep your batteries healthy or your plane becomes a "kit" again. I have just ordered a third 6 volt. I also collect tools and believe that you never have enough.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little screwdriver
Purchased this as a Christmas present for my wife and have been installing blinds ever since. While it's not intended to take the place of an 18 volt drill, it does a great job screwing and unscrewing. The forward, reverse rocker switch is more convient than others that we have used and the angles are handy. I would not recommend it as a replacement for the DeWalt heavy duty cordless screwdriver (my favorite), but it's lighter and 1/3 the price. Well worth the money....

4-0 out of 5 stars Great All Around Screwdriver
It does everything as advertised.

Pros: different torque settings, 2 drive speeds, small LED light, pivot point, overall "feel".

Cons: drilling is only for light duty jobs (otherwise get a real drill), charging time takes too long. connection for the charger plug is right in the pivot point and it doesn't let you use it while plugged in.

Other than the charging issues(that's why I won't give it 5 stars) but it's a great tool at a decent price. ... Read more

With 225 mph of maximum force, the Toro Ultra Blower is a three-in-one machine--blower, vacuum, and leaf shredder--that's ready to rip through leaf-covered lawns with the power of a small hurricane. Better yet, you'll likely find it to be not only one of the most powerful lawn tools in your garage, but one of the most versatile as well. To facilitate the different uses, the blower comes with a quick-release latch for easy conversion as well as infinitely variable air control. In addition, the metal impeller mulches leaves with fearsome efficiency, reducing 16 bags of leaves down to a single bag. 4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but they skimped on the details.
I've used this for 6 months now. My primary interest was for its mulching of leaves, so I can compost them. I've run out of space in my woods, and throwing them away seems like a waste. I've used the blower too.

It works great sucking up leaves. The pieces are generally chipped to perhaps half to 1 fingernail in size. As to how much it reduces the volume, I took a mostly dry slightly overfull wheelbarrow full of leaves - and it was reduced to a little less than half-full after running it thru the machine. So that's roughly a 2:1 reduction, not 16:1, as Toro advertises. It's good enough for my needs, in terms of composting. (Mulching the leaves adds an extra 40 degrees of heat to the composting process, in a compost tumbler, 160 vs. 120 degrees.)

The blower works well too. The variable speed makes it easier to control where leaves go. I gathered leaves from one tree into a pile in 5 minutes, and vacuumed them up in another 10 minutes, filling (stuffing) one 39 gallon 'lawn & leaf bag' (so 2 bags worth, unshredded). I've also blown dirt, weeds, rocks, gravel and other crud off my driveway (2500 sq. feet) in a matter of ~10 minutes, which would take perhaps an hour to sweep by hand.

And I suspect, and was told in correspondence with a well-known Consumer's magazine, that the magnesium impeller should last a lot longer than other models, which are typically made of plastic. That was my primary reason for buying it. We'll see on that score. So far, its holding up.

Where Toro missed:
it doesn't do well with leaves that have virtually any amount of moisture to them IF they've decayed (meaning last year's). They jam up the outlet passage within 1-3 minutes (going in to the bag), as well as the crevice area around the impeller. You have to unplug it, undo the bag attachment, and access the impeller region, and fish around with your finger, digging out all the wet gunk which has been chopped in a very fine mess. Freshly fallen leaves which are wet don't cause this problem. Skimp # 1: Toro didn't bother to include some plastic gadget for digging out the stuff, so you scrape your knuckles quite a bit (I'm afraid of using a screwdriver and ruining the impeller).

Skimp # 2: the bag, the cord, and the handles seem backward to me. But then, I'm left handed, and most of the world seems backward to me. The vac is still quite useable, backward though it is, but Toro seems to have chosen to ignore 10% of the population that is left handed, which doesn't impress me.

Skimp #3: in that it's electric, you're chained to a cord. The owner's manual says not to go over 150' in length, and to use 14 gauge for that distance. I happen to like 12 gauge cord for long distances, and that's what I own - and the 'cord lock' (a piece of plastic on the handle) is not big enough to handle 12 gauge cord. C'mon Toro! What's it cost to make it a smidgeon bigger to handle a larger size extension cord??

Skimp #4: in converting from blower to vac or the other way around, you have to omit certain pieces of equipment from the machine, both large and small. There's no place to store them, on the machine. So, I suspect they'll be either easy to lose or misplace. Or a pain to keep track of. It would be far nicer if the small pieces were storable, and Toro had figured out a way to make the large pieces in such a way so that they could be left on the machine at all times (e.g. the blower has a bottom cover that has to be removed so the vac has access to the impeller. Why not have a sliding door for that cover piece?)

Skimp #5: the bag is tiny. It fills up in ~3 minutes, and that is 1/3 of a lawn and leaf bag. And your property involves how many lawn and leaf bags for you? i.e. A lot of stopping and emptying. One company's product, as I recall, has a set up where the vac empties in to a garbage can directly.

Overall, it does what I want and need, and I'm happy. But it's not without its faults, and I expected better from a company of Toro's reputation.

4-0 out of 5 stars Toro 51598 Ultra Blower
I purchased this itme last year and have been very happy with it. Its so easy to use and it is very powerful. I don't even have to have the power on all the way and it gets the job done. I love that adjustable power knob. And it is true what the description says about it reducing 16 bags of leaves to 1. It has a stainless steel mulching blade. The only bad thing i have to say about it is that there is no different shaped attachments for different jobs. Other than that i recommend this blower to everyone, it is the best! It will also work with 200 feet worth of cord. I bought 2 100 feet cords, and the blower works fine.

1-0 out of 5 stars Died in less than a year
I purchased this blower last summer. I did not use it very much and now it has burned out. I am trying to get the warranty honored by Toro's service centers. I will see if they will honor the two year warranty, but I would not buy this blower again. Less than a year of service and it burns out, that is lousy workmanship.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ultra Blower Rocks It!
I can't get over how hard the Toro blows. I live in a forested villa where I often get mounds of leaves falling into my drive-way. It used to be a big problem, but with my Toro, those leaves practically jump off my driveway, screaming in terror. Also works well against my ex-wife when she asks for the child support. Ha ha! I would recommend this for anyone who hates leaves as much as I do. And no one hates leaves as much as I do. Especially in fall.

5-0 out of 5 stars good blower
If you don't need a gas blower this does the job very well. I use it mostly for cleaning off the driveway and patio. It can of course work the leaves too. You'll be pleased. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't find yourself strung out.
So what did you want to know? I started my trimming carrier with the Black & Decker Automatic Feed Spool (AFS). It is just plug and go. I prefer my trimmer string to come from Black & Decker. This way I will not come unraveled trying to use some cheap substitute. The spools last longer than expected. But all good things come to an end and you don't want to be half way through the yard when you find your self strung out.

4-0 out of 5 stars AF-100 on GH400 Trimmer Edger
The factory replacement spool for the GH400 Trimmer/Edger is the way to go. I have been very pleased with the easy to load and use spools. I have had bad luck with other trimmers, but this one is great with the factory replacement spool. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Simple, Effective, and Completely Necessary
You wouldn't be looking at this item if you weren't already smart enough to own a classic Weber Grill -- and that means you love your food, you love your grill, and you love to serve your family and guests perfect food.

But let's face it: Some people like their steaks overdone, and people always go for the hamburgers before the bratwurst.

So what do you do with the cooked bratwurst while your Labor Day party people are still munching on burgers? Do you want your medium-rare steak to go cold while you wait for that last steak -- the one for the guy who likes his cooked until it looks and tastes like a shoe -- to finish?

Nah. Just put this warming rack on your Weber, and put the done stuff on it while you wait for the rest to finish.

OK, if it's so great, then why didn't I give it five stars? Because the fifth star is reserved for the Weber Grill itself. It'd be like giving a Best Actor Oscar to a supporting player.

5-0 out of 5 stars WARMING RACK EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS
I am very happy with the kettle warming rack. It serves the needs of our family very well. Of course it "comes into it's own" when we have guests over to grill burgers or steaks, but the main reason I got the warming rack was becuase my wife likes her meat well done and I like mine medium rare! So it can be said the the kettle warming rack is actually improving the quality of life at our residence! Not to mention performing as advertised! Im looking forward to trying the rack for different menu items such as vegetables and seafood. Thanks Weber for a great product. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Spool is great - but cheaper to reload the one you have
The design of the spool is terrific but it's so easy to refill the spool you're really better off buying some trimmer line in bulk at Home Depot and refilling it yourself.

I could see getting a second one to keep a reloaded one handy on standby, but really, it's no trouble to refill the spool yourself and much cheaper than buying replacements. Can't say enough about the product, it's terrific. I love my Ryobi, I have a gas and an electric one (got tired of dragging the cord around but the electric one still works great). ... Read more
